The game is set in Gotham City after the deaths of Bruce Wayne / Batman (Michael Antonakos) and Police Commissioner James Gordon, which has resulted in a rise of crime and lawlessness. Players assume the role of four of Batman's former proteges-Dick Grayson / Nightwing (Christopher Sean), Barbara Gordon / Batgirl (America Young), Tim Drake / Robin (Sloane Morgan Siegel), and Jason Todd / Red Hood (Stephen Oyoung)-as they attempt to continue his legacy by protecting Gotham upon receiving a pre-recorded message from Batman. During the game, the heroes encounter several supervillains, including the Court of Owls, Mr. Freeze (Donald Chang), Harley Quinn (Kari Wahlgren), Clayface (Brian Keane), and Penguin (Elias Toufexis). Supporting characters include Bruce's former butler Alfred Pennyworth (Gildart Jackson) and Police Captain Renee Montoya (Krizia Bajos), one of the few honest cops left in the city.

Hearing all of this. BATMAN was the most caring person. He doesn't want people to get hurt. But he carry the weight too much.

14:03 never thought I'd heard Batman cry. This new voice actor maybe one of the best VA for Batman we've gotten yet.
This guy is pretty good, but Jason O'Mara (from the DCAU based off the New 52) outside of Conroy have been my favorite
These Audios give this version of Bruce so many dimensions. The voice actor for him did terrific work especially the one where he is dealing with his grief on pushing Dick away, Barbara paralysis and Jason’s murder. So much hurt, guilt, anger reminds you that Bruce was still just a human a terribly resourceful and dedicated human but still a human nonetheless
Number 7 was when batman was at his absolute weakest.
Everything he tried to protect were taken, destroyed, and lost. You can hear how he was so broken.
Number 7 was my favorite especially when he tries to escape but Alfred like a good parent forces to make the time to confront his emotions otherwise he never will
I love this, the audio logs show the empathetic and caring man Bruce/Batman is. This Batman has me think of the Animated Series in how compassionate he was in wanting to help people. This shows why Batman became one of my favorite heroes.
The last voicemails must have been before Ra's attacked the bat cave. The last voicemail he got from Dick coincides with the Father and Son audio. That night Bruce died was the night him and Dick were Supposed to have there long awaited talk. Which makes it even sadder.
These audio logs were written very well.
Truly showcases Batman's human side.
Honestly, the vocal performance in the audio logs brought tear to my eye more than once. A wonderful portrayal of the character, especially considering how he's technically not even in the game.
Michael Antonakos did a great job as Bruce, I'd like to see him come back
i certainly like that. this part of Batman, that's so fragile, so broken, so human, actually makes me cry. I love that part of him, that feels love, sadness and tiredness. Hearing him talking about Jason and Dick makes my heart broke, he actually sees they as theyr children, and the voiceacting is so damn good. love these.

Seriously I say we get this guy for the new light default Batman voice actor. Remind me of Batman from The Animated Series as opposed to what he usually is nowadays
I love the fact that you can hear the change in his voice trough those recordings. Like phases, chapters through his life. You can hear the birth of The Batman arc.
This version of batman is more emotional
In The Comics, he acts more stoic and monstrous or stern depending on the version when fighting the criminals and villains but when he`s with the Batfamily,Gordon,Lucius or Alfred, he lets his human side shine through.

One of the impressions I got from this was that when Batman started out, his M.O. was a very Renegade style. It's this style that Red Hood would adapt and expand upon. Both Commissioner Gordon and Lucius Fox influenced Batman to gradually change his M.O. to a more Paragon style. It's this style that Nightwing would adapt and expand upon.
Tim was already Robin when Jason came back as Red Hood, but here that wasnt the case.
I actually liked Batman/Bruce Wayne in this one!
Before he died he was actually balanced. He showed how open and humble he was in caring about his underlings on that footage and he had some humor too like when he was dancing in Penguin's club.
Also he didn't have the face of an unlikable dickhead either.
Those last 5 audios of the others calling Bruce to check on him. The same night he dies sunk my hurt. It's a family he earned the care of.😭

It's so interesting how bruce refers to batman in the 3rd person in the first audio log.
Arkham series batman is one of the best depecitions. He only gets better as the series goes on.

Honestly I like this version of Bruce.
Sure he’s still crazy enough to do what he does as Batman but there’s something there that isn’t shown often in most iterations… humanity.
Batman and in extension Bruce Wayne are always depicted as these brooding, holier than thou super geniuses that hold themselves to high regard and never let people in. A cold, stoic machine that has to shed the act to truly become a symbol of hope to the innocent and fear to the guilty.
The closest we get to a Batman that’s more than just a serious shell of a man is Kevin Conroy’s Justice league and animated versions. Even Arkham verse (a personal favourite of mine) suffers from this.
But here? He’s making jokes, his tone is much more softer and genuine instead of brooding and gothic. He’s just a guy that wants to do good because of what happened to his family without the needless repeat of his development of being tall, dark and brooding all the time.
This Batman seems experienced and kind enough to just chat with and even joke around with. There’s no real conflict of Batman and Bruce until later into these audio tapes.
We start to see glimpses of that shell, the Batman making its way into Bruce’s most vulnerable moments like when he’s talking about working with Harley or setting up plans before his demise or even talking about Joker (in the vaguest of ways for some reason)
He still is the Batman we know and love but just… toned down a little which makes him a little more down to earth with honestly. Is kind of refreshing after so many years with the other edgy and stoic Batman iterations.

I'm surprised this channel gets early copies of games. Wouldn't studios be against this type of content that essentially shows the whole game without anybody needing to pay for it? I'm a big fan of the channel, so don't see this as a criticism or anything, I'm just curious how that works for them.
It's a fair question. I think history has shown that walkthroughs, gameplays, game movies etc generate more interest and exposure for games overall. There is a set of people who really might not buy the game because they saw it on UA-cam, that cannot be denied. But the bigger majority are more likely to buy and experience the game if they liked what they saw. Afterall a game is not really a game if you can get the whole experience simply by watching.
The other element that I was told by Sony is that, since they're expanding their reach into other mediums (movies, shows, comics, books) they like channels like ours to expand their reach to non-gamers. For example, the Last of Us TV show is coming out, and there will be lots of non-gamers who might be interested in the games' story but will never play. They're much more likely to see a UA-cam video than play. Essentially no-commentary channels like ours become hubs for fandoms to discuss and further envelope themselves in the games and franchises they love.
Overall though it's a gray area, plenty of companies, particularly Japanese ones, are against giving early copies. Or if they do give copies, they have really strict rules, which is understandable, it's their right. Companies like WB, Ubisoft, Bethesda see it the opposite, they are really generous with their access.
