Congratulations to both of you, Froshi for becoming elden lord, and Brandon for narrating his quest. Jokes aside, nice video man, I'm just late, but I found your channel
I'm currently doing a jar themed character, and I've made it to Malenia. I can cheese her first phase with the jar cannon, but second phase she is too aggressive to use that. I've mostly used volcano and lightning pots for most of my playthrough, but I might need to switch to the bleed pots for Malenia's second phase.
I actually haven't played around with the Jar cannon, but its in the same class as the hand ballista, which is the run i'm working on now. If the Jar cannon can knock her down, you can bait ground slams and time the shots to knock her down, run away and repeat (this single bit of knowledge is what made Malenia doable without ripping my hair out haha) good luck on the run! I really wished I had picked up the talismans and helmet from the quest line, I just made it harder on myself for not noticing those existed until it was too late lol
@@pjfatooni8020 I recently watched someone's "Lord of Pots" run, if that's what you are referring to. I'm not them, I just had a similar idea for a character. I haven't finished my playthrough yet, haven't been feeling well.

A couple things if you ever feel like attempting this challenge again, or if anyone watching this feels inspired to try it. The first is perfumes. The spark perfume does a lot of damage, especially with high dex. And there is also a perfume that buffs you, your spirits, and gives you and your spirits a one hit shield. The second is that there are a number of infinite use consumables that use FP to do a spell, similar to the hunter tools of Bloodborne. The third is that while status items worked great for most of the game, for bosses that resisted status effects, lightning pots or the giantsflame pots can do really good damage, especially with the crystal tears that boost their respective damage type and the jar helm + talisman.
I might one day do this again. The reason you didn't see..like any of the things you mentioned is because this was my first like..real challenge run (technically fists only came first but), I actually didn't do Alexander's quest line so I completely missed the Jar tailsman and helmet, Then about perfumes, by the time I realized they even could have been helpful, I only had Malenia and Rad/EB left and decided it wasn't worth it to go get them lol. but yes, if this happens again I would make sure to do that. Thanks!

Of all my runs I woudl like to redo this one the most because I know a lot more about the game now and could probably optimize it way better haha neat idea about the spirit ashes being a one time consumable! and the starting equipment idea might be fun if I did something like compare all the classes to see which is best /easiest or something. also I hope you feel better soon my friend!
@@DoomWolfOfficial oooh I'm deeply into the idea re: comparing the starting classes. maybe you could compare based on number of deaths and length of time to either beat the game or do all remembrances? something along those lines, idk. The reason the second knight didn't last long in the niall fight is because niall desummoned him (he does this as his health goes below a certain point).
It being consumed is one thing, but the grease applies to a weapon, which you then use to hit the enemy, which defeats the purpose in my mind, but I understand what you mean
I’ve wanted to do a bomb only play-through but just can’t be asked to farm the materials to make the various bombs, makes me REALLY wish you could just buy them like in souls games.
I did completely forget about perfumes, I was challenged to this run just after the game came out, the wiki hadn't even been completely flushed out so there was a lot of unnecessary pain, but I actually did use the Regal Omen Bairn. I tried it against Malenia...it didn't work out so well, so I canned it lol
So, good Sir. Jar companion talisman and Jar helmet giving us next: boosting initial damage of pots. Nor the status build up, nor the status damage. Like, you doing 2 damage with poison pot landing on enemy's head?! Good for you! Now it's 3 damage! Enjoy your time lost for getting them :-) And small thing. DoomWolf, you missed whole category of consumables: perfumes. Which actually working really weird against Malenia. She dodges initial hit of poison one, just to stand inside poisonous mist after that. //Big remark for everyone mad enough to repeat this run! Get ready to farm aeonian butterfly from basilisks in lake of rot! Enjoy your time
I think the Jar cannon actually helps with fire pots and the like, but then again idk how useful those would be compared to status pots yeah when I did this run the wiki wasn't even completely filled out. I had completely forgotten about perfume items until a month or so after it was over and someone mentioned it lol
You should have made your character look like Henryk the old hunter after all throwing knives where a favorite of his... Missed opportunities aside great video
That would have been great! Too bad I'm bad at character customization haha (also this was a challenge run suggested by a friend, so I tried to make it look like him)
@@DoomWolfOfficial I actually just had an idea for a new run in elden ring...what about a Spartan challenge rules being spears are the only weapons allowed and the only place you can wear armor is your head, legs, and hands and you can only do trust physical damage no bleed no fire no lightning just raw damage also no ashes of war or spirit ashes great spears are allowed for super tanky bosses example Elden beast, Rykard, and maybe Radahn...oh yeah God skin duo too because f*ck that fight all armor is allowed but you can try to make it Spartan themed if you want oh and obviously you have to have a shield to complete the look
@@deathrideroftheapocalypse8708 lol I enjoy how God Skin gets a pass because that boss sucks, agreed lmao. Could be fun overall, I've never really used spears
@@DoomWolfOfficial oh also if you have the time I believe Lilagy did a consumable only challenge too but instead of darts and stuff he resorted to the jar and jar talisman then used elemental pots to exploit enemy weaknesses I think he did the whole game in one run too very much recommend and it's very entertaining you might actually get better ideas off of his content now that I think on it because I'll be real he's done some crazy challenges in a-lot of fromsoft games
@@deathrideroftheapocalypse8708 I had unfortunately not realized the jar talisman was a thing (this was my first proper ER challenge run, presented to me on stream when a friend redeemed a run suggestion. In short, I was not prepared lol) If I did this run now I would have done it different lol
I did not, I did this run before the wiki was fleshed out, so it was at a time where it wasn't known patches went to volcano manner, so I thought they were limited and didn't wanna use them lol
I feel like Rennala could have gone better with Cursed-Blood Pots? With those you can direct your pokemon to a specific enemy and buff their damage as well. And maybe you should have incorporated rot inflicting consumables, especially for, like Fire Giant... Against Nokron's Mimic Tear boss, you should strip naked at the beginning, then re-equip once they have spawned in. You'll do so much better damage. Maybe even uneqip all consumables and re-equip when needed, so only naked Froshi with fists is your opponent.
At the time of making this video, the wiki hadn't been fully written yet. Lots of missing posts or misinformation. So I might have missed cursed-blood pots, or not understood how to use them (this was so long ago now I don't remember lol) For fire giant, it would have been great, but I was very hesitant to use any rot items because I think perhaps the pots are the only one that does? and Farming for the butterflies is super annoying haha
W W W W W WAIT. You discoveted this chunk unloading, infinite falling trick... *a few weeks after release???* Well, uh, buddy, it's still not patched out. That just... floors me, that something so striking like that has been in for as long as it has been, especially with From's weird fetish for putting invisible walls to block off out of bounds tricks.
well tbf I didn't discover it, someone else on reddit did (if I used the word "discover" I didn't actually mean it like I was the first, just made aware of lol). anyway, i'm surprised it hasn't been patched, they def already patched things like consecrated snow field early so
If the enemies dont pay attention to you and fall into an abyss trying to attack by a cliff, or dont stop before falling, it aint your fault. I reached 450+ in new game. But then I was tryinyg to.
I did not learn this until after the run, unfortunately :( lol (the wiki, at the time of the run, had not been as up to date as it is, so I just missed out on that)
Somewhere near the beginning of the vid I made a statement like "if it can be hot-bared it counts as a consumable, because I know someone will say otherwise" :P lol
Wait, so you allowed spirit ashes but didn't use the Jarwight Puppet, which is basically an ash that fights with consumables? Wasted opportunity if you ask me
I didn't even know the Jarwight puppet was a thing until this post lmao. iirc (this run was a while ago), I only used spirits on Radagon/EB...because I was already 3 weeks in and try to have these runs out every 2 weeks :P it was an executive decision made against my will!
@@DoomWolfOfficial Eh, i don't care much about the ashes really, it was still good. it's just a shame because Jarwight would have been the perfect summon for this run.
@@Markshadow4999 Actually this is really great news...for you, not for me, because when the DLC comes out i'll need to revisit this run and now I know about this summon, thanks!
Im doing a consumable only run but im making an exception for farming levels and buyable consumables like daggers. But only for the sake of making the run less painful
Actually I did know about tiche lol what I actually wished was that I didn't end up doing that challenge so early in the games life cycle. it was so new not even the wiki was filled out (like, not showing patches has an unlimited amount of fan daggers at volcano manor, which is why I didn't have them here) oh well, maybe if I ever redo this I'll be more skilled and can finish without the bell in the end
Well, like I said anything that can be "used" counted for the run. If I ever redo it, maybe i'll do it without the bell...ya know...the one fight I did with the bell.
i cant believe you did a challenge run and then do summons anyway lol. i can understand doing that for the normal game because its balanced this way but for a self imposed challenge? you can do better man
haha yeah, part of me felt bad for using mimic, but I was bashing my head against that wall for several weeks and needed to move on. besides, bell goes in hot bar so for my challenge it works!
I’m sorry but in the wiki the spirit calling bell is a key item not a consumable even though it can be hotkeyed.. so this is sort of an incomplete challenge..
@@SkRo0L3w5e me: beats whole game with throwing daggers and purple rocks "are you not entertained!?" lol but yes, I was aware of this, that's why at 0:57 I stated "I can already hear people say "you're going to use the spirit calling bell?" yes, for the purposes of this run anything that can go in the hot bar, with the exception of greases, counts as a consumable" maybe one day i'll be processed (or challenged again) to redo this run and i'll manage, but three weeks on one boss is a long time
@@DoomWolfOfficial I understand, not trying to downplay what you did. I just know a couple meta players that think nothing can be done in this game without cheese. yeaaah, when this video was out the wiki didn't have patches final couple of locations, so I didn't know you could do that lmao
@@DoomWolfOfficial Oh dear, this was 1.03 then. Ouch
Perfumer bottles angrily looking from the corner
Haha, this was done before even the wiki was fully fleshed out, so there's lots of stuff missing, like fan daggers
The reason the second knight didn't last long in the niall fight is because niall desummoned him (he does this as his health goes below a certain point).
This run was so long ago that I don't remember, but I believe you!
"Cough, cough, input reading, cough, cough." LOL
Big time lol
Ngl, yes to summons but no grease feels strange, considering greases are consumed and spirits are not
It being consumed is one thing, but the grease applies to a weapon, which you then use to hit the enemy, which defeats the purpose in my mind, but I understand what you mean
@@DoomWolfOfficial ...I actually hadn't even thought that far....carry on xD
I’ve wanted to do a bomb only play-through but just can’t be asked to farm the materials to make the various bombs, makes me REALLY wish you could just buy them like in souls games.
The farming the material part is def tedious, I wish there was bell bearing for every consumable, that would make it so much easier
I wanted to ask you if you could do an Elden Ring Run with just summoning
mayhaps!
I've seen it done but do you think you'll bring this into the dlc?
I've thought about it, and do still have the character save soooo maybe
You have so much patience
I needed it for this run lol
My man ignored perfumes and items like omen/royal bairn the whole run
I did completely forget about perfumes, I was challenged to this run just after the game came out, the wiki hadn't even been completely flushed out so there was a lot of unnecessary pain, but I actually did use the Regal Omen Bairn. I tried it against Malenia...it didn't work out so well, so I canned it lol
So, good Sir. Jar companion talisman and Jar helmet giving us next: boosting initial damage of pots. Nor the status build up, nor the status damage. Like, you doing 2 damage with poison pot landing on enemy's head?! Good for you! Now it's 3 damage! Enjoy your time lost for getting them :-)
And small thing.
Enjoy your time
I think the Jar cannon actually helps with fire pots and the like, but then again idk how useful those would be compared to status pots
yeah when I did this run the wiki wasn't even completely filled out. I had completely forgotten about perfume items until a month or so after it was over and someone mentioned it lol
13:32 isn't the bewitch branch
" consumable " super helpful for this situation.
EDIT:
14:47 i should've continued watching 😂😂😂😂
haha, sometimes I think, _sometimes_ :P
In short, I was not prepared lol)
If I did this run now I would have done it different lol
That was epic
Glad you enjoyed it my friend
I can only kill solider of Goodrick not Rick solider of god only godrick solider with consumables
Rick, solider of god is unstoppable, makes sense
Why aren’t are there shart pots
if you're referring to poison pots, I did use them briefly (don't remember if I used footage of that though)
Did you use fan daggers? They absolutely melt larger bosses.
So I might have missed cursed-blood pots, or not understood how to use them (this was so long ago now I don't remember lol)
For fire giant, it would have been great, but I was very hesitant to use any rot items because I think perhaps the pots are the only one that does? and Farming for the butterflies is super annoying haha
New idea: Can you beat elden ring with glitches only? 27:25
ha, ya know that could be fun if I could find glitches for every boss
W W W W W WAIT.
You discoveted this chunk unloading, infinite falling trick... *a few weeks after release???*
Well, uh, buddy, it's still not patched out.
But then I was tryinyg to.
true, they should have paid attention to their footing lol
I am the lord of all that is throwable.
This is how I felt lol
Did that falling mohgwyn palace rune farm glitch ever get patched out?
I'm not sure, I heard it might have but haven't tried since this video
I'll check for you chief. Edit 2 electric boogaloo: ok it is still possible with some torrent parkour. ua-cam.com/video/LvdpPuvBcHc/v-deo.html
@@callmegrandpoggers thank you bro 🤝

After watching your runs for a while, something tells me Godskin Duo isn't your favourite boss.
Don't know what could have given you that idea :P lol
2 words Varre’s questline
I don't play online so I can't invade people, but aside from early access to Mohg, what would this give me?
@@DoomWolfOfficial that's pretty much it, early access to Mohg. Nothing else
@@falloutboy231 farm spot
Good video
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Patches bell bearing let’s you buy fan throwing knifes
I did not learn this until after the run, unfortunately :( lol (the wiki, at the time of the run, had not been as up to date as it is, so I just missed out on that)
Which is better Unga or Bunga?
trick question, they are both equal, they are one in the same, one can not exist without the other. I unga, therefore, i bunga lol
Spirit ashes arent consumables though since they arent *consumed* on use.
Somewhere near the beginning of the vid I made a statement like "if it can be hot-bared it counts as a consumable, because I know someone will say otherwise" :P lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial that would be a hotbar only run but not a consumable only
Placidusax is fuming rn
Haha he is gone but not forgotten
I’m halfway through the video and I still don’t see perfumer items
well this was 43 minutes ago, i'm sure you're disappointed lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial Lmao a tab bit but it’s cool
Currently doing cestus only
Nice! Ceastus are a fun weapon!
Audio is a little bad but other than that 10 out of 10 great video.
yeah pretty sure this was before upgrading my mic (at least I hope lmao), thanks! :)
Im doing a consumable only run but im making an exception for farming levels and buyable consumables like daggers. But only for the sake of making the run less painful
That is 100% okay in my book, lol
Bet you wish you knew about black knife tiche at this point 🤣
Actually I did know about tiche lol
what I actually wished was that I didn't end up doing that challenge so early in the games life cycle. it was so new not even the wiki was filled out (like, not showing patches has an unlimited amount of fan daggers at volcano manor, which is why I didn't have them here) oh well, maybe if I ever redo this I'll be more skilled and can finish without the bell in the end
Nice run but the spirit calling bell 100% does not count as a consumable and that kinda ruined it for me.
Well, like I said anything that can be "used" counted for the run. If I ever redo it, maybe i'll do it without the bell...ya know...the one fight I did with the bell.
I just realized this build is impossible for the dlc. I dont see it doing enough damage to down the bosses.
Someone posted one shotting all the DLC bosses with a single pot so...it is, unfortunately lol
The character you made looks like messi💀
not sure who that is but...thanks? lol
Whip only
You know, it's funny you mention whip only. It's in my list of "soon ™" runs haha
Yeeeeeees
Good
You think so? I wish I could redo this run with all the knowledge I have now, would def make some changes haha
where is your microphone quality
it did not exist in the era lol
Rykard: no
Ya know, I almost want to redo this run, because I bet now I could beat him with the extra knowledge I have after several months lol
mmm, potato mic. my ears thank you, sire.
Mm yes the days of using my headset mic haha
@@DoomWolfOfficial tbf it is a really good video otherwise lol
Jesus loves you
I'm glad someone does
i cant believe you did a challenge run and then do summons anyway lol. i can understand doing that for the normal game because its balanced this way but for a self imposed challenge? you can do better man
haha yeah, part of me felt bad for using mimic, but I was bashing my head against that wall for several weeks and needed to move on. besides, bell goes in hot bar so for my challenge it works!
I’m sorry but in the wiki the spirit calling bell is a key item not a consumable even though it can be hotkeyed.. so this is sort of an incomplete challenge..
@@SkRo0L3w5e me: beats whole game with throwing daggers and purple rocks "are you not entertained!?"
lol but yes, I was aware of this, that's why at 0:57 I stated "I can already hear people say "you're going to use the spirit calling bell?" yes, for the purposes of this run anything that can go in the hot bar, with the exception of greases, counts as a consumable"
maybe one day i'll be processed (or challenged again) to redo this run and i'll manage, but three weeks on one boss is a long time
@@DoomWolfOfficial I understand, not trying to downplay what you did. I just know a couple meta players that think nothing can be done in this game without cheese. You’ve more than proved it possible. If you want to be lenient the spirit calling bell CAN be considered a “special” consumable since it’s a one time use item for each instance
