7:40 The wiki probably says there's 2 lizards because there's 2 there in the Cinders mod. I know because I've played the Cinders mod more than I've played base DS3.
Btw, the hornet ring doesn't work on the king of the storms. You simply did all that damage without that boost. Hornet ring only works on bosses that also can be backstabbed, so not exactly a lot of them. No idea why. But that's how it works. For most bosses it's useless. Oh and yes luck does more than increase item drops. It increases status effect build up. As someone that has completed the game on sl1 many times, the Crystal Sage is the ONLY roadblock. Low health and a lot of projectiles don’t mix well. His "lmao f*ck u I win" button if you will. Also to add to the previous paragraph (getting off topic), Oceiros, Sister Friede and Pontiff Sulyvahn are the only bosses I've never beaten *without* a shield. Sully and Friede are quite difficult as a boss but for Oceiros I only have the shield up in case he charges. Out of nowhere 😅
That charge is absolute BS, I don't know why, after _years_ of making a several games with slow deliberate attacks that just take time and learning to overcome, that they would add an attack that just crushes you out of nowhere lol
Hardest SL1 boss for me by far is Soul of Cinder - it becomes so important to remember all his movesets, and their timings are very strange. Demon Princes, Friede and Gael make up the tier below.
I did beat up Cinder in like 6th attemp. Only attack at his 2 types, mage and sword and 2nd wave was just waiting for his jump attack. Still i felt like a pussy
I hear from a lot of people that SoC is hard, maybe i just bashed my head against that wall enough that I don't see it anymore, but then again, my take on gael is the same lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial it took my maybe 3 hours to kill gael, now i think id be able to kill him in first 3 tries (sl1 Ofc) anytime. And it would take like 20 minutes running around i 3rd phase xd
@@MatiHardcore Honestly I love Gael. Both as a helpful NPC as well as a boss. Then I keep getting reminded I need to get past Half Light to even fight him 😠
a fun run, I was thinking of trying it myself sometime since I also know that you can get the hollow infusion on your weapon using the Profaned Flame from the dungeons which lets weapons scale off your luck stat and (I think your hollowing stat)
For the demon prince, just take a page out of horror movies' book: the black one is the first to die. Oh, anri's, my beloved! It was my favourite build to run around areas: anri's, blessed cathedral knight greatshield, sun princess ring, lloyd sword AND shield rings (plus chime's skill, blessed weapon, and heal aid if needed). It allowed me to travel safely every area and basically have full eastus for every boss fight: that regen was insane.
10:24 i you hate fighting these things, you can sprint to it as it's spawning and spam roll by it through the door. The dragon body doesn't have any collision and it can't attack behind itself, so it's an easy kill. Though the dragon body can make the camera a hassle, but we're fromsoft players so what's new? The second one you can get behind even easier by just jumping behind it from above.
Don't worry my friend, many people have Informed me of this and it would seem I am just unlucky, haha get it! (Seriously though I reloaded this area several times, no idea how it evaded me so many times)
there is 2 lizards on the way to the cathedral but its bugged so if u miss it once it may not appear again, ever. Also there is one in lothric castle by the controlled dragons and that one bugs for me almost every run.
To retort with another Harry Callahan quote - " You know, you're crazy if you think you've heard the last of this guy. He's gonna kill again." I will be waiting for the next video.
I saw Luck mentioned and eagerly await for the use of Kukri. My beloved Luck based Bleed damage hybrid consumable that can brutalize most bosses in the game.
Luck builds are surpringly viable. All hallowed weapons scale with it and it also helps building up status effects, most impotantly bleed and poison. In DS3, both scale with how much max hp an enemy has, so this can really add up. Gael ( and possibly some other bosses) secretly has multiple/split health bars, but it's still worth it.
Yeah I wish I would have remembered the bleed/poison build up. I def read it while looking up things but completely ignored It for anris good scaling lol
it´s legit soullevel 1 with benefits xD. Nonetheless nice video! Honestly besides soul of cinder and gael perhaps, champion Gundyr was surprisingly hard for me just like I hope it will be for you.
I have three tipps for future ds3 runs. 1. there are actually 2 crystal lizards past crystal sage as shown here ua-cam.com/video/S6_vd7tYYA4/v-deo.html 2. you can get 2 more twinkeling titanite early through the trading-crow as shown here ua-cam.com/video/3ycyfn3cToM/v-deo.html 3. you can cheese the dragon puss of man by rolling behind it as shown here ua-cam.com/video/eSsPwqedX08/v-deo.html
A run-through ds3 with a jack of all master of none build. I want to see you mix up styles with all 3. Melee, range weapons and spells from all 3. Miracles and pyromancy, and sorcery. I would prefer this on elden Ring, but i want to see you do this eventually with all of ds and elden ring.
I wouldn't mind playing the game that way, sounds like a slightly under powered (because distributing levels too thinly) and I could decide which thing to use based off of boss's moveset and weakness/strengths
@DoomWolfOfficial it can be underpowered, but I like options. Although in all of my playthroughs, I think I've only used sorcery twice, and that's from the night and flame sword. 2nd time was slightly used in dark souls remastered in undead burg. The deprived is underrated there.

Then I keep getting reminded I need to get past Half Light to even fight him 😠
Luck contributes to status effect build up so I expected a bleed build, but i think your build probably fit better for the run. Great video man
it does, and I remember reading about it as I was researching this, but I quickly forgot about it in favor of anri's sword haha
At 7:30 there are definitely two crystal lizards; they're close to each other so you probably triggered both when focusing on one.
Yeah a lot of people are telling me, despite reloading the area multiple times, that I somehow missed it. I guess you could say I was...unlucky lol
unironically i have been waiting for this
I hope you liked it then lol
I am now convinced FromSoft watched this video and heard Wolf’s comments on Gael before designing Shadow of the Erdtree’s final boss
lmao, I _wish_ I had that amount of reach
In the gym right now, but i know exactly my post armday meal is gonna be consumed to a top tier video 🙏
get them gains my friend! I need to start working out again, maybe i'll make a pushup challenge lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial "dark souls 2, but i do 5 pushups for every bullshit instance" when?
Jesus don't kill doom wolf, man
Soul snider: “so…. He just walk up to me and hit me on the jaw……. And i suddenly died……. “
I mean can ya blame em lol
a fun run, I was thinking of trying it myself sometime since I also know that you can get the hollow infusion on your weapon using the Profaned Flame from the dungeons which lets weapons scale off your luck stat and (I think your hollowing stat)
It does! So you could use pretty much any weapon if you went that way
For the demon prince, just take a page out of horror movies' book: the black one is the first to die.
Nice, I've never done a build that plays to the regens strengths, maybe I should look into that..
Wait a second, this is not a challenge run, its just an Anri's ss appreciation video! Seriously tho, that thing's underrated AF, love it
Yeah it slaps, which is good I wasn't prepared for SL1 with bad weapon lol
10:24 i you hate fighting these things, you can sprint to it as it's spawning and spam roll by it through the door. The dragon body doesn't have any collision and it can't attack behind itself, so it's an easy kill. Though the dragon body can make the camera a hassle, but we're fromsoft players so what's new? The second one you can get behind even easier by just jumping behind it from above.
Neat I'll have to try that sometime haha thanks for the tip!
Just ordered a manta mask I genuinely hope it works as good as advertised thank you doom wolf thank you
Hope you like it! I enjoy mine :)
Vordt is an outrider knight if I remember correctly. Cavalry who went crazy and thought they were horses themselves. I think the dancer is one too.
Interesting! That kinda makes sense given the other outrider knights in the game, thanks!
very surprised when lemon showed up outta nowhere at 10:35
haha well, he actually edited this video for me, so that was him :)
For the next 28 minutes and 9 seconds, Doom Wolf is effectively unhallowed!! Yeah that sounds right lol. Awesome video as always
Haha thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Ive been waiting for this for so long!
Hope you enjoyed it :)
7:39 there are actually two lizards after sage, but maybe one disappeared before you could spot it.
Don't worry my friend, many people have Informed me of this and it would seem I am just unlucky, haha get it!
(Seriously though I reloaded this area several times, no idea how it evaded me so many times)
@@DoomWolfOfficial hahahaha guess the luck ran out at some point, literally
14:41 holy shit this had me in tears for a good 5 minutes
Lol love throwing a bit of shade
8:00 Giant F**k Off Sword! I know its not the exact same wording but still made me smile.
lol well I'm glad you smiled
Of course I did. I've started saying the exact same thing myself.
I bought a sleep mask with your code, great vid!
I'm glad :)
there is 2 lizards on the way to the cathedral but its bugged so if u miss it once it may not appear again, ever. Also there is one in lothric castle by the controlled dragons and that one bugs for me almost every run.
haha yeah, a lot of people have informed there are two, and I am just...unlucky to not find it
To retort with another Harry Callahan quote - " You know, you're crazy if you think you've heard the last of this guy. He's gonna kill again."
I will be waiting for the next video.
haha nice retort, and hope you enjoy the next challenge, wont be for a bit, but it was..a proper challenge, painful lol
I saw Luck mentioned and eagerly await for the use of Kukri. My beloved Luck based Bleed damage hybrid consumable that can brutalize most bosses in the game.
Unfortunately I forgot luck effects bleed and poison build up lol
Luck builds are surpringly viable. All hallowed weapons scale with it and it also helps building up status effects, most impotantly bleed and poison. In DS3, both scale with how much max hp an enemy has, so this can really add up. Gael ( and possibly some other bosses) secretly has multiple/split health bars, but it's still worth it.
Yeah I wish I would have remembered the bleed/poison build up. I def read it while looking up things but completely ignored It for anris good scaling lol
The nameless king will forever be a nightmare of a boss fight for me
That's fair, def the hardest base game ds3 boss
it´s legit soullevel 1 with benefits xD. Nonetheless nice video! Honestly besides soul of cinder and gael perhaps, champion Gundyr was surprisingly hard for me just like I hope it will be for you.
Yep exactly that! Lol thanks :)
I missed a video 😭 i didn't know this came out
well now you can enjoy it because you know! :)
I love seeing all the other Dark Souls challenge runners watching and giving positive feedback. Sometimes the Souls community can be beautiful.
yeah, we all support and encourage one another!
I have three tipps for future ds3 runs.
1. there are actually 2 crystal lizards past crystal sage as shown here
ua-cam.com/video/S6_vd7tYYA4/v-deo.html
2. you can get 2 more twinkeling titanite early through the trading-crow as shown here
ua-cam.com/video/3ycyfn3cToM/v-deo.html
3. you can cheese the dragon puss of man by rolling behind it as shown here
ua-cam.com/video/eSsPwqedX08/v-deo.html
thanks for the advice !
How did a dark souls creator get an ad from a sleep company that’s counterintuitive
tbf, I don't sleep regardless of dark souls so :P lol
15:52 ik right ?! i recently replayed ds3 and fighting this boss took wayyy longer than it should've because of that attack. its just way too fast.
It's such an awful attack, how can From make such well designed boss encounters...and then let that slip lol
That’s the 5th time I’ve heard the SpongeBob “just blow in from stupid town?”line in a YT video. AND YOU KNOW WHAT??!
I love it :,)
SpongeBob memes are the best I tell you waht lol
7:32 I uploaded a video on my channel that shows where the two crystal lizards are. Unfortunately I can't link it, otherwise UA-cam hides my comments.
I believe you, a lot of my comments are saying that haha. I reloaded that area multiple times, but never saw it. Guess I was just
..unlucky ;)
7:40 i 100% remember two lizards being there too 🤔 is this a Mandela effect thing or did they maybe remove one with a patch 😂
According to many comments there are two and I am just unlucky, ironically lol
7:43 Just ran this area the other day and can confirm; two lizards.
I just ran it in another run (the fan one), can confirm, what idiot would release a YT video saying theres only one!
it me, im the idiot lmao
@DoomWolfOfficial Just Dark Souls stuff. I've seen lizards that seem to appear randomly, had some that never appeared at all, and some that showed up once and never again
I loved the random JoJo reference at 14:30
good, glad you liked it :)
19:08 - it's the guy from Elden Ring yo !
lmao, let those jokes begin!
Really? no 1 going to mention the EPIC intro? The Clint Eastwood intro is crazy i love it so much
Couple people have said it, glad you enjoyed it :)
6:50 i never knew anri would give up if you ever just killed Horace infront of her
Yeah, it was honestly kinda sad
@@DoomWolfOfficial didn't expect you to reply lmao well thanks for teaching me something about ds3 👍
14:27 Goated reference
going through my comments you are the first person to mention that reference lol
"He showed me the power of five gum, unlucky." That got the sub out of me man, fucking great shit lmao.
Haha I'm glad I could make you laugh my friend :)
Seeing your struggle shows that getting lucky really will cost you extra
something something gamblers fallacy :P lol
