They can, in fact, move! They can vacate their tube and move about to find their happy spot and rebuild a tube. I had to remove the old tube when one of mine moved, which was kinda gross, but he found a spot he prefers. Only one of my three tube nems moved. The other two have stayed in the same spot since I got them about a year ago. They are super cool!

They sure can!!!! I'm a new reefer and my reef has been running six weeks and I came to my tank this morning to find he had hopped out of his tube!!!! I came to this video for more info now I'm glad I get to add some!!! My guy must have moved due to too much light! Definitely my favorite in my tank!

They do move! Ours moved over a foot and a half underneath rock structures so now his tube extends almost half of our tank and underneath rocks.

Yes they can position themselves better under rocks.

You had me subscribe at your intro. I can’t wait until my tank is mature enough for one of these

How do you place the nem without being stung or do they not sting your hands?

very good looking anemone! What are your thoughts on Rockflower Anemones? I love the idea of getting an anemone for my 32 gallon reef tanlk, don't want to risk getting anything too big,

Rock flowers are an excellent choice. They stay small and are good for small reef tanks!

I have had one of these for a little while now, awesome corels quickly became one of my top five.
One thing I would like to add is, I noticed when I sturr up my sand it will seem to feed and a day or 2 later it will hide for a while and then I would see a new layer of mucus. Am not saying for sure but it seems the dustiest particles in the sand can help growth, or the anemone create the mucus coat for protection. .

They are awesome creatures, you could be right,I havent noticed that with mine. I know for a fact that they will build the mucus coat for protection. And as they grow the grow the mucus layer with them, when I moved mine from my old tank to my new one it actually shedded its mucus layer, moved, and built a brand new one. Pretty cool.

Awesome Anemone...love the movement with the current of the water. Do they sting the fish?? I noticed the fish do not go near the anemone while feeding. Why do they bury their body in the sand?? Cannot wait for the 125 gal tank. Hope you give detailed videos on setting the new tank up.😀👍🐟🐠 your videos are so informative, thanks for sharing.👍

Thanks, these anemones do sting fish but the fish know to stay away and they bury their bodies to protect them.

Are you able to propagate these like you can with bubble tips?

They grow pretty quick if you feed them good.

I have one of these but it seems to not open as much as it used to, the tentacles are short and colours have faded, any ideas?

    • @EagleAquatics

Definitely try feeding it more, they love to be fed once a day, also they don't like the light so put it in a shaded part of the tank
