    FACT-CHECKING HABIT
In the world of media where most of us can easily connect and engage, we tend to receive a lot of different information every day. There are some that give us inspiration and some that give us updates on the current events.
But there’s also some information created to make us believe in something that is not true or can mislead us. According to Rappler, almost 67% of internet Filipino users think that falsified information (fake news) problem is a serious concern.
So, to counter misinformation we need to do fact-checking and there are several ways to do that.
    1. To verify information, we need to check its original sources to determine if it's credible or not.
    2. Using reverse image searching will help us to know whether a photo is real or altered and we can also do cross referencing by using geolocation.
    3. By lateral or smart reading, we can check the review about the site and About Us page to know who is managing the website.
    4. Lastly, we can use legitimate fact checking websites.
There are still other ways to do fact checking but these are some simplest steps to do that.
If a person will not have an effort in knowing the truth, people will remain blind by wrong information. So, by learning to think critically will help them consume more facts, that’s why it’s necessary to make fact-checking a habit before posting or sharing information to others.
Be a critical citizen to prevent spreading of misinformation.
