    Fun dig. Years ago I used to video metal detecting shows. I used a chest mount. Worked great when shooting with one person. Good to see the Minelab. Best metal detector I ever owned.... Keep up the wonderful work.

      Thanks. Yeah, I have one. My only issue is when I watch other videos of detecting with a chest mount, it seems I am always looking down and often times, they are off a bit and you can't see what they are doing. My method has worked so far. I have been putting it on a tripod more often and I like that because it is more steady. It just slows me down setting it up.

      Go Pro with a chest or head mount…might simplify your life when you need to go it alone.

    How neat! I found an identical feather a couple days ago while detecting the fair grounds. Went out yesterday with the wife for a picnic at the lake and dug 93 cents out of a camp site. 😎HAPPY DETECTING! 🤗

    I am also in SoCal around the same area,and have a minelab 800,and a garrett gti 1500..I love them both! Garrett for parks and dry areas,and the m800 for everything! I have found some great stuff bud! Maybe we will meet up someday and have a duo hunt! Awesome video buddy,great finds! Good luck brotha!!

    So cool of a little Hunt.. Killed it on clad.. the feather is really cool. I dug one that looks like that one not too long ago.. A spoon yesterdays dig.. But Boy that change adds Up and you knocked it out of the sands... Happy Hunting ..

      Thanks. Yeah, I am going to have to see how much coin I have collected this year. I already turned in about $140 and I probably have a couple hundred more dollars worth. Pays for some of the gas on these trips.

    It's crazy how much you find! The beaches where I fish have a lot of people doing the same (Brighton & Shoreham)

      Yes, I am always amazed about what is in the sand/dirt. Crazy... However, there are times I go findless for long times.

      Thanks. It is an enjoyable hobby... as for fishing, when I go, I can fish for hours. I like shore fishing but haven't brought my pole in a while. It is always a tough choice. If I brought it, would I detect?

    Great hunt. Good to see someone else struggle with the reality of recording detecting alone. The struggle is real! That place looked nice and quiet! I too enjoy the "alone time". What's funny if you think of nothing else but the hunt too, at least I don't.

      Yeah, I def get time to think when alone. But yes, it can be a struggle. If your not rushing it...then the camera work is no biggie.

      You were the only one that mentioned the half. When I saw that, I was thinking about how sharp you were.... I posted the results in my comment on that video. Three people got the correct total in the actual pile which was 176

    For my B'day, I gifted myself with 7 hours of metal detecting at my goto SoCal beach today 😊
    In spite of customizing my AT Pro years ago, I probably won't be able to climb stairs or lift my arms for the next few days - but it sure was fun 😁
    So, what I've noticed about playgrounds throughout LA, and even at the beach > no more (or rarely any) sand, but padded floors instead. I guess, city kids getting dirty amd sandy while playing is too maintenance-intense 😄

      It turned out to be more of a beach clean-up than a treasure hunt, but the real treasure could still be hidden behind a locker door to which I found a key. Question is, where's the locker located? 🤔

    is that the CKG sand scoop you are using? If so what do you think of it? Is it good for wet sand as well?

      Yes, I was. I really like it. I have the CKG and the Xtreme. CKG is lighter and easier to carry around. Both are designed for wet/dry sand and do a fantastic job. CKG is cheaper but the Xtreme is way more solid including the fatter handle.

      I have had a lot of suggestions but am currently using this... 2 LB 1/8" Tumbling Media Ball Shot Tumbler Finishing - 304 Stainless Steel
      I got it on Amazon

    Curious about your scoop. Is the shaft handle designed to be so low on the shaft or is that a personal preference?

      They actually put it down there. I am actually thinking about taking it off. Seems it should be adjustable but the attachment is welded on.

      I was actually filming with a GoPro. Using the 8. Others have suggested I use the chest mount but I am not a fan of it. May still give it a try.

      I know. I really don't like them. I have one and may try it one day. I have been putting the camera on a tripod a few times and I do like that. another good reason to bring Christine. It works best with the duo...

      @@DigginSoCal Yes, I think that's one of the things that makes your channel different and special is the personalized camera but it might be so much easier if you're by yourself. I can't say much about cameras since I bought one a year ago and never used it. :-)

    CTR stands for CHOOSE THE RIGHT. Google choose the right ring. It is associated with the church of latter- day saints.

    You need to research how to pinpoint, cuz you're definitely not doing it right. I can see by the way you're doing it. you should be doing a x over the target. Good luck
