On my John Deere 325 there are two bolts that go into brass inserts that are essentially a permanent part of the plastic. You have it easy just popping out the old one! Those bolts were driving me crazy so I just found a couple long enough bolts with the same threads and nuts to match. Then I put the bolts in after I cut their heads off turning them into studs. That eliminated lining the assembly up with the holes in an awkward place. Instead I just slid the assembly onto those and put a lock washer and nut on them. It works similar to bolts but without the frustration those ones caused me!! It is only worse if it is too hot outside! Maybe just as bad in winter weather. It might make a person go insane if they tried it with gloves on!! Turns out there was a little tiny bit of silicone on the original bolts holding the lock washers. My guess is that a previous owner was in there and also knew the torment of changing that part. It was corroded where the battery terminal is near it. I may just wrap some Teflon tape on it to protect it so this doesn't happen again any time soon! It was looking as if maybe some acid was on the battery terminal in dry form corroding the cable. I don't want to just use electrical tape, you would be surprised what sulfuric acid can dissolve!! If I ever take a battery for testing I put it in a plastic container big enough to hold it. That acid WILL destroy the carpeting in your car and maybe even burn all the way through! Rubber is not safe from the corrosiveness of such acid!! It probably even destroys some plastics if left long enough, the container is really just to keep that stuff from destroying your car or truck if it somehow leaks!!
Awesome video. My throttle/choke no longer responds. Debating whether to replace the part (it’s the original crop like 8 years ago and I think these do wear and tear) it or tighten it?
Thanks for showing us how to fix the throttle.
Perfect and very helpful… I was waiting on the new handle to break while you pushing into place… my luck lol
Same I actually did a second take on the vid because I seriously thought I was gonna break it
