- Lately I've been getting a lot of comments regarding driving line assist on how I won't survive if I turned them off. Well here is a Forza Horizon keyboard noob trying out Forza Motorsport with all assists and driving line off.

I do apologies if the video is a bit boring. There is a reason why I prefer not to qualify as it is more entertaining.
As for the elitist comments, I find it funny how some assumed we will immediately can't drive at all when we turn racing line off. I can play without line off but that is not how I want to play in this game. Same reason why I am playing on keyboard despite having a wheel because I prefer to play on a keyboard. Sure it is slower, but I don't care because I was never interested in becoming the fastest driver.
Ultimately I prefer to play this game in a way I enjoy the most. Inb4 I get do it in cockpit view comments.

would you ever consider getting a wooting 60he or any of the so-called full analog keyboards so that you could have a little more fine control over those things, or do you just like driving as is? Either way, long time viewer, love whatever you do, f the haters.

I find I do better with ABS off not because of stopping power, but because of corners where you can't brake optimally. I find with ABS on if it kicks in in those situations, it can cause understter or worse unsettle the car in a way with it off doesn't. But I don't drive with a keybaord either, but a wheel and pedals, a different style for sure. Also, braking line purists can get bent. I race in cockpit and in this game braking markers (track ones or designated by me ones) can sometimes be hard to spot in certian conditions. Not sure what is so off graphically, because I don't have that issue in Sims.

ISAD, please don’t listen to them haters! We love your content and we love how you’re racing! It’s much funner for the viewer when we’re able to see the racing lines to compare and contrast how you and everyone else takes the corners and what lines that work for yall. These people that say “you can’t win without racing lines” are the same ones that be ramming and be cheating in racing games. *MOST* professional UA-camrs and professional racing game players have the lines turned on too. So why do they choose to bring that negativity to your channel for?

You turned off all the assists off and stuck it on pole position, only to race on wet conditions, without practice previously and then having a rocket of a start and building a gap to the second place car over the course of the race. All with a keyboard which makes it incredibly easy to lock up the brakes.

It just proves Forza physics are unrealistic. Full throtle out of every corner in a lamborghini diablo which is notorious for it's snaps of oversteer isn't gonna end well in real life.

As an ex-keyboarder, I lol'd hard at the moment you turned ABS off. People just don't know you are bound to using ABS on keyboard as you cannot adjust the amount of braking and any full input(of which keyboard provides by default) will result in you just going straight completely missing both the racing line and the braking zone.
Gotta know the audience you have ISAD. You will always get to see these specific people who assume they know everything and aware of all the details. I admired your driving style on keyboard when I was using a keyboard. Now I am finally off the leash, got a controller about almost a year ago, I don't think I will go back. You have to be some kind of maschochist to enjoy such a binary driving scheme is all I could say mate. More power to you.
Also, I am not even going to go through the tire/fuel saving measurements etc. when you have all assists disabled on keyboard. These people... Lol
Man, I'member NFS:PU allows keybinds with % in steering, throttle and braking. In similar topic, a Wooting keyboard might work lolol.
I'm still stuck to keyboard as I found myself to be terrible with a controller and can't get used to it.

This motivated me to try without assists and I could barely keep on the pavement let alone put up fast times. Ima keep practicing 😅
For the haters btw, keyboard inputs are 100%. So if you press brake you will lockup, if you turn your car on throttle you will spin out. That is why he taps the inputs to simulate feathering.

Also, his gear selection in turns is higher than usual to deliberately have low rpms, thus reducing power. This is to simulate partial inputs.
As to why he sometimes alternates between acceleration and braking when slowing to a turn, it is due to wet conditions: ensure the car is under load at all times for the tires to have traction. Prolonged coasting can risk hydroplaning.
For added precaution, his downshifts are less aggressive. This is to ensure the engine braking won't slow the wheels too much for the tires to aquaplane.
Unless you're using steel Apex pro, wooting.

I have to put my braking to 65-75% depending on the car. My controller does not allow for slight braking. Its either all the brakes or none

It's shocking that the comments weren't even satire. As a keyboard player myself, it's literally impossible to have precise inputs on a keyboard unless if you use stuff like ABS or TC
TC not necessarily, but ABS is a must. You can emulate the TC using Senna's technique, which he does a lot in this vid.
@@RocketEightEight yeah pretty much, I usually never run TC unless if the car is RWD with too much power when I play racing games but I always gotta keep ABS on since ur pretty much always gonna lock ur wheels when braking on a keyboard
"Never talk S*** to someone unless you can do better" is a philosophy I follow in life. While I always wondered at the brake line, once I found you use a keyboard, who cares? you're already on hardmode. If they think it's easy, they should try it. bet none of them do.

Video is awesome. I always thought of myself as the underdog but when I was playing Motor City Online back in 2002 and sharing setups it was so gratifying to earn top 10 every week with my crew. This video brings back memories of taking off the training wheels and actually enjoying racing in a wet, stormy, dark night. I felt like that was when I was at absolute bliss is running those laps when it was under those conditions. Thanks for sharing this video... I hope to get back to competitive online racing again one day.

I feel the same way you do. I'm playing with keyboard since 2005. This is how i enjoy the games. I enjoy the competition, being able to keep up and have fun. I'd say don't listen people. You don't have to prove anyone. You do you, we'll be cheering up here!

It is not easy as it seems to play on keyboard. While throttle inupts are 100% or 0%, it takes a lot of skill. He does that flawlessly. Been following for a long time. Respect.
If you see someone on YT called IsuckAtDriving, with the ingame nickname GRANDMA DRIVING that plays ON KEYBOARD, it's the same result as encountering a low tier figher or weapon or vehicle in highly ranked matches, YOU GON GET COOKED!

i was very impressed when i first discovered that you play on a keyboard which is something i find the gaming equivalent of CBT when it comes to racing its something i could never do i have to play at least with a basic controller

To add to what's been said by ISAD. Driving lines if you follow them fully through will have you driving like the a.i. on both Forza and Gran Turismo. You will be braking way before you hit the corner in many cases, and take them at a speed like some NFS a.i. in the sense you can go outside or inside at any point in most cars if you don't screw up. This means you will be extremely slow compared to any online player that can actually drive.
Nice! I use a hybrid of keyboard to steer and right and left mouse button for brake and throttle. Can't use a controller from muscular dystrophy but feel I do pretty decent. :)

I didn't even know this guy used keyboard until recently. Honestly _how_ does he do it? Beating people who have access to infinitely more steering angles and throttle/brake inputs than him. Personally I can't understand how someone would want to play on keyboard over a controller with analog inputs instead of just "on/off", but clearly this guy has the skills to do it.

Lol you are like one of the legends in RBR who were able to compete with wheel users on a keyboard. Now that game had insanly good keyboard settings and there are mods to make it even better i believe. I never stuck around for long enough to achive that level of skill

honestly only assist i use is braking line because you dont know when the person in front of you gonna randomly go 10mph around a turn. other than that, i have everything off. i even drive with clutch.

I drive with everything off every time on hardest difficulty and rewind off. But I always keep arrows on road. I dont know the map layout. Most of the tracks i see for the 1st time in my life. The arrows are there just for that purpose. Keyboard + hardest settings. This is the way.

Naysayers, you should be studying what he is doing. Yes, I disable everything but ABS, but it doesn't make me superior to him. I just like the feel and am not doing it to so I can pop the collar on my turbodick shirt. His driving lines and nuanced understanding of how to get the most out of each bit of track is ridiculously good. Even if I turned everything on, he would still be stomping me.
