@@lupang335 I recommend stopping, reversing, doing a reverse flick, driving away, and just go straight, the barrier will correct any steering input so you won't have to turn right ever again.

I remember the launch of this game was so horrible that it sent an xbox live core service crash and burn straight to the shadow realm.
It was still a not bad game to me though, but Turn10 better get the job done on the next Motorsport. And then we celebrate by getting rammed on Monza turn 1

This game is why I never preorder anymore. They properly fucked any ultimate edition preorders, then changed the listings which were intentionally vague.
They clearly care more about horizon. FM hasn't been great since 4. Hope they prove me wrong, but I probably won't buy another forza game, and that makes me kinda sad. End of an era.
@@jayslife775 A little behind on the Motorsport information? They already released a trailer for it and it's been in development for awhile. They stated that they wanted to make a big overhaul on the series itself. Since it's been copy and paste for the past 2-3 Motorsports. Plus the next gen consoles came out so they had to deal with all of that integration. It will come out they are just taking their time and making sure it's actually worthwhile. Horizon 5 is basically a hold off title since it doesn't seem to be using much of Xbox Series X technology. Motorsport will be the first Forza title to take advantage of the new Xbox consoles. Horizon 6 will probably be 2-3 years out after the launch of Horizon 5.

Honestly they need to look back at what made 4 everybody's favorite. The cars felt amazing, the sounds, the damned benchmark maps. Having the freedom to free drive any car without having to do some stupid race series I cant even unlock yet.
4 was so good. I passed 5 and 6, and was a bit disappointed in 7 because the UI, maps, and progression system really made it almost frustrating to play.
I don't know. I do like that in the newer ones, cars are sorted into themes.
I enjoy feeling slightly more immersed when the whole grid is in like, 90s BTCC cars, or modern day GT... Than like, "Over here we have a 7,000 horsepower AWD EG6 civic, up against a McLaren Senna, up against a 1970s F1 car."
I have forza 4 and is one of the best racing games I've played.

Bought this game as a birthday present.
Enjoyed seeing awful rammers, enjoyed the sucking forces of the dubai sand, and a hell of a lot of VIR (yet to have a race in multiplayer on Laguna Seca)

I’d say more competitive racing, actual good wheel support/wheel racing matchmaking, less repetitive sounds (transmission whine/same pops on downshifts and off throttle on all cars), clutch abusing to be faster in lap time, better physics would be nice although I don’t think they’d change it much because their user base is almost all controllers. There’s a lot I would change, but in the end I doubt much will change because the Motorsport series is so much less popular than the Horizon series. There’s too much risk to put all of their resources into the next Motorsport for how bad it could do with no profit. They would much rather just put all their effort and time into horizon since it makes them the most money. I’m hopeful, but doubtful.
I mean I don't see why they couldn't do it while not having to design a huge-ass map like in horizon. A lot of car models from FH5 can be reused too.

As weird as it sounds, I think that less cars would have been much better for the game. There was just way too many "filler" cars that no one was ever going to use on the track and only served to clutter up your garage.
@@feliper.150 I would think so too. The thing is I think world design is much easier and simpler than creating a better/new physics system to differentiate horizon from motorsport. Thats where the money part comes in and makes it less compelling for them to do.

They honestly removed so many great functions from multiplayer from 5 onwards. Multiplayer in 4 was flawless, and the options were endless.

Watching this gameplay makes me have a new found appreciation for GT Sport
GT Sport is great, dunno why it gets so much shit for anything other than it being a Prologue type GT game and the stupid penalties. I would rather have stupid penalties than no penalties though, only time I really see idiots online in Sport is lobby mode or low rank races. I've never had any problems with Sport beyond my own low skill and frustration with perfection. I think GT Sport is a great game and I hope GT7 will be a "return" to old GT formula. Sport has the best graphics, physics, sound, gameplay thus far in the series.
@@Skellotronix Yeah I love the game but the penalty system and bizarre daily race choices have become a big point of frustration lately. Agree that GT7 should be amazing though and the fact they have partnered with Fanatec is giving me a lot of hope that it's going to lean towards the sim/competitive side of the game. Should be great

Changes I want to see in FM(8)
- Proper Wheel support, none of this half assed FFB/wheel support that was shoved on this game mid-life of FM7 & later Horizon 4. It's been long over due, considering there's more wheel options on the market, more users shifting over to wheel over pad.
- Missing features from FM4 come back. I loved the car club garage, throw a car in there for club racing, have your club try cars before buying etc. Maybe bring back some old tracks (yeah bring back Kaido too..let the babies have their bottle T10 ☺️), the classic public lobby system from FM4 returns (vote kick, track, modifiers etc)
Just solid & simple QoL options.
Next Forza I want to collect resources, build forts, loot weapons, and make it Battle Royale. Letz call it Forznite.

Despite all of its problems and bugs and whatnow, I still enjoyed the fuck out of this game. My most played racing game since the first Dirt Rally.
Why? Because it was the first Forza Motorsport to come out on PC. The whole concept of just building all sorts of cars and just jumping into a hopper and seeing how it goes was something that I never experienced and it was so much fun.
My only real wish for the next game is to try and keep the game's easily accessible and simple hoppers.
for me:
1) get rid of the homolagation crap especially in the career mode
2) less divisions, 67 divisions is too many! some of which only contained 1 car
The homologation was great. They just made the restrictions fucking stupid. Homologation makes the racing closer.
@@Ooooyerr no, it doesn't. All it does is reduce the cars you can choose from for a particular race. There's still a stand-out OP car in every single homologation division, so it hasn't solved any problems. The PI system needs a rework.

Quite the opposite, homologation should be compulsory everywhere as it fixes a lot of exploits.
@@Harmonic14 FH4 had this same problem, PI system is a mess. At higher PI specs it’s a little better with a greater variety of cars that are at least viable for online racing (at least for road racing) but there are still pretty massive standouts that have a clear edge. 700/800 PI is a joke, there are essentially 4 cars that people use because everything else gets left in the dust. In a car that touts its massive selection of cars it’s pretty terrible to have such a small group that can actually be competitive online.

Killing FM7 before the new one is released (or even a release date announced). Very frustrating. For the new game being all about what the "players want" they sure aren't communicating much about when it will release or what will be included. Maybe it's the "how to derail the hype train" chapter of the Forza book.
Glad I'm not only one thinking this. Like what the actual fuck Microsoft/turn 10. You can't just kill a game before the new one is released. What kind of ass backwards logic is that. It's been 4 years and so far 2 whole ass Horizon games and we still haven't gotten a new motorsport game.
Licensing deals. With the next gen and covid they didn't get the new one out before they were unable to legally sell it anymore. Same reason remakes of GTA games can't play all the music of the original games. Sucks tho.

I really want 1+ hour long endurance races. I remember a few events over the years where I enjoyed those long races. Personal favorites were the ones in Le Mans and the Nurburgring

Nice trip down memory lane, this vid. When I first discovered and subscribed to your channel was back when you were hot-and-heavy on Forza7 and still in the early days of your GT Sport career. Can’t believe it’s been that many years already.

Abandon the league racing section and replace it with Competition lobbies(6 lobbies in total. Each would require a certain driver rating). A safety/driver rating for the new competition section(maybe 3 levels of rating. C B A). Each car has a rating(I was thinking like the iRacing rating)that determines what split you go into. Daily and weekly races on the half hour and hour.

Personally I would like a greater emphasis on cross class events. Back during forza 4 you do cool stuff like race a chevelle as against a bunch of Ferraris.

RIP Forza Motorsport. I still remember spending so much of my childhood playing FM4. When they were actually attempting to compete with GT. And then immediately realized they would never come close to putting the amount of effort and love into any game than Polyphony does with GT. Thus leading to this mess of a game displayed here lmao.
huh? gt 5 and 6 were utter garbage asset recycle all the way back from ps2 and psp, and worse than its forza motorsport contemporaries. gt sport is pretty shit offline too, a massive part of the old playerbase hates the game because it's such a step down in content. i don't think polyphony is doing nearly as much as they should either. that's not to say that turn10 is any better. straight downhill after fm4. every next game released got less and less features and more and more bugs. hope they break the cycle.

I spent about +4500 on this game and it’s sad to see that it leaves the store without a successor, I enjoyed every second racing, painting, etc. and although he has many flaws, with a good private league he can give excellent races. Hope to see some serious improvements in the next one, cross fingers 🤞🏼

Forza needs real big changes, it needs to evolve much like Gran Turismo has. Encouraging sportsmanship and real racing is a must. Physics need a deep overhaul too.
When playing Forza I always seem to feel as though most cars understeer too much whilst oversteering on very little throttle input.
I think race cars need much more grip too, not all RWD cars oversteer.
One thing for me to want to play the next Forza, they'd need to introduce some kind of racing etiquette training and enforcement. Licenses or penalty times or something. It's the wild west in that game. The other thing is to bring back classic tracks like Fujimi Kaido, Camino Viejo, Amalfi Coast. Maybe a third would be for them to abandon the fun killing homologation idea.
Basically turn it into kind of GT Sport? Forza has always been the cesspool for racing games online.

Definitely feel like there needs to be more support for other types of Motorsport like drifting and time attack ect.. really don’t think just adding deist suspension is much of an addition. Otherwise yeah less debris and more tweaking on tyres and fuel stuff as well as pit stopping so it doesn’t always take 1 million years.
1 - Get rid of limos, trucks, hot wheels cars and suv's and bring back GT2 cars, the mosler, me412, joss etc etc.
2 - Licensing system so randoms cant just buy a S or R class car the first 2 hours of owning the game to go into a lobby and wreck everyone. Capping you at c class till you do a series of difficult tasks to EARN your B class license, then you can get your A class license after you earn a certain amount of experience points, unlocking the feature to EARN your A class license, then S class and so on. Making each task difficult and take at least a couple hours or so to complete if you're good at the game.
3 - Better campaign that doesnt just throw money and cars at you, that costs you money for fuel and damage so that you actually have incentive to race properly instead of just punting Ai off the track until you win. YOU CANNOT FEEL REWARD WITHOUT CHALLENGE.
4 - Stop appealing to hyper casuals because no matter what you do to the game, THEY WILL NOT BUY YOUR GAME.
5 - Bring back the better version of the vote to kick system (Forza 4 version) where it tells you whos on the chopping block on everyone's screen and make it take less votes to kick. All they managed to do is make it harder for good people to police their games from assholes.

As someone who just got the game recently, I’ve been trying all of the different multiplayer modes and almost never see anyone TRYING to ram. Almost everyone drives clean in my experience so far, it has been incredibly fun

Overall Gran Turismo Sport was clearly the better game of the 2, better gaming loop, better accomplishing what it tried, obviously better graphics.
if Gran Turismo 7 goes back the the roots of the saga but keeping the great online and technical side it will be again the king of console racers

@@Hunter544 Physics on gran turismo aren't even far fetched from Forza. The only edge Polyphony has over Forza Physics is Implementing a more nuanced steering mechanism into the games virtual steering column that gives full wheel rotation, creating the illusion to its player base that they're driving a real car. Asides that they seem to have GTsify everything else that pertains to Tyre wear, grip, pressure and temperature. The game just doesn't Simulate its Tyre properties as a real Simulator should do. You're either gripping at high speeds with loads of assists and sliding around at low speeds to induce difficulty. Throttle mapping from every car is completely dissimilar to their real world counterparts whereas Motorsport actually has proper throttle mapping embedded in its physics system. Suspension models all run on fixed variables irrespective of how much you tune or upgrade them. They're designed to never oscillate on their own to simulate proper weight transfer.
@@Hunter544 i'm sorry but i just can't take that seriously when looking at how gamefied the aerodynamic tow (slipstream) is in that game. it's so extreme that racing is entirely done around that gimmick.
@@Hunter544 absolutely not. GT Sport looks much cleaner, and the spectator cameras are leagues ahead of Forza's.
So good to see you back playing Forza again, i watch all your old videos every day, it's brought me so much laughter and joy, it's good to see something new. As for the next game, i'd like to see stock cars be more usable in S and A Class, it'd be great to just go in and pick a rental and be competitive.
I think what they really need to do is improve the lighting. This game can be really dark and gloomy at some times compared to the others games. Also they need to go back to the old menu style, like Forza Motorsport 4 or even Forza 6. Those menus were great. Forza 7 has the worst menu in my opinion.

*1: Longer hooper races; so maybe like 10-15 laps for short tracks, 5-10 for medium, 2-5 for longer ones. Could have a short race hopper along with an endurance hopper which should be set to timed races of 30-180 minutes maybe, depending on track length.
*2: More normal cars; So not just things like BMW M3, Dodge Challenger Hellcat, or 300Z twin turbo, maybe more 328i, Challenger Scat Pack, RT, or even V6 muscle cars(or Fords Ecoboost 4cyl Mustang), and non turbo 300Z or Supras. Also stuff like Ford Fusion or Taurus, or even Toyota Camry or Nissan Maxima for example.
*3: More in depth upgrading and tuning; so by this I mean adding potentially NOS and tuning it, also boost and power adjustments(e.g. race turbo upgrade allows tuning boost level and where it reaches peak boost), an option to adjust to a few different preset tunes on the fly by pressing a button would be cool too. Also more rim sizes(chose a rim and any size between 15-32 inches with 27+ being for those who like insane big wheels lol, so maybe those on certain wheels only). Really I would like a system where you buy a car choose a package or trim level, choose engine size, and add options like irl and sort of like TDU2, but I doubt they'll do that sadly.

A bonus would be different TCS & ABS levels.

It would be great to stop adding very short circuits in races and specially in endurance racing. Haven’t got updates on new endurance cars. Add more good circuits. More dynamic environment changes when racing.
It's almost impressive how they managed to make 2 games in a row that were consecutively worse than one before it. FM5 was the shit.

wdym forza 5 was just a bad version of forza 6, 4 was by far the best tho
fm4 was the beginning of the ladder downhill. but it was still good, to be honest. better than the heaps of garbage that came after.
@@houseking9211 disagree, at least forza 5 had working AI on online lobbies. forza 6's implementation was pathetic, they sacrificed quality for quantity. it also had downgraded sounds and graphics to fit more cars on screen and the stupid weather gimmicks.
@@GraveUypo 6 was definitely a better game than 5. FM5 felt better to play, but it wasn't much more than an equivalent of GT5 Prologue.

1. A functional PC launch - FM6, FH3, FM7, and FH4 have all required a minimum of one or two patches to even be able to reliably launch the game on PC; FH5 is shaping up to be the exact same based on early access player reports
2. Make sure all config options on PC actually work - Controller + Manual Shifting + Custom button assignments = Nope. Requires you to set buttons for things that are not set in the default schemes, because there aren't enough buttons on the controller for them. (Doesn't affect console because they disable custom button mapping anyway)
3. If the game is actually playable, then maybe consider adding qualifying as a thing. Less sticky physics would be nice, but let's aim for a low bar here.

Top 3 (not already mentioned) things I would like to see in a new Forza title:
1. No more installments - one single software with paid seasonal content/graphical updates (with a discount for the game pass owners).
2. Reliable performance - less glitches, more stable servers, faster menus.
3. Perfect e-sport platform - more tools for the players and event creators (better spectator/replay cameras etc.)
The static, non-rotating minimap makes me really uncomfortable. Apart from that great video. May the game servers never die.

I’m glad you asked what we hope will change. A lot my 2 things that bother me the most.
1. No qualifying to set grid position. Yes you can use cards but that’s nothing to do with skill. Higher difficulty’s are that much harder just trying to get through traffic slows you down. By the time you get through traffic the lead car normally has a crazy gap on you. The game is win based not race the best race you can so it’s super annoying.
2. Barriers were there aren’t any in real life and they are solid. I’m not saying get rid of them completely I get they are trying to stop corner cutters. However some need to be trimmed back ever so slightly. Perfect example 2nd to last turn on Laguna seca the right hander before pit lane. On A amd S class cars set a bit looser you can point your nose in on the apex and your front right wheel will go in the dip you will get the slightest rear end slide but it will shoot out much faster than the true racing line the trouble is although your wheels aren’t leaving the track the nose of your car will catch the barrier and send you to the shadow realm. I don’t even understand why that barrier is there if you try to cut that corner you will go wide. I get the ones at road Atlanta turn 2 kinda if you are super lucky you can full throttle lawn mower jump the grass and gain time but 9/10 you just spin.
Wish you’d try the race regulation lobbies, still really good fair racing going on in them..
I just hope they get rid off hoppers. Really miss the old days of public lobbies. Most races were 5 laps minimum on verity of tracks.
Hoppers makes Forza feel as tho there are only 3-5 tracks. 1-2 laps making everyone trying to win in the first corner.
I played this the other night when I heard the news about it being taken out to be shot in the back yard and I very quickly remembered why I stopped playing. Holy shit this game sucked. It almost never worked, and when it did, you wish it didn't. They have a lot of work to do.

When Motorsport 8 comes out, I just don't want it to handle like Horizon. I prefer my cars don't feel like they're on the moon or in GTA 4.

I haven’t really enjoyed the driving experience of Forza Motorsport 5 through 7. It just feels like the cars are extremely boaty and hard to grip with, with the exception of LMP and F1 cars which actually feel planted and fast. Where earlier titles never did the McLaren F1 road car any justice, the newer incarnations of the game don’t do any supercar, even modified, justice imo.
If they can offer the experience FM3 offered again I think that’d be fantastic, maybe add more custom race options like a realistic pitstop too.
Super GT content at last, today is now a good day
They need to add co-op in campaign races, and custom lobbies where you can invite friends and fill the grid with bots
Me and a friend have been saying for years that if Forza and Gran Turismo collaborate on making one game taking the best from both games it would be one of the best racing games ever made...

The handling physics you're referring to are what Forza 6 Apex had on PC. Best Sim-cade handling model I've ever experienced. It split the difference, perfectly.

13:20 I had my very first Forza Motorsport 7 race here in this configuration of Noobai, cause i got the chance to play on my cousin's Xbox, which i dont see often. And i placed 2nd in online race, purely because ik the track from watching Super GT videos... Yeah😍 thanks a lot Steve!

As someone who doesn't like racing in open public lobbies, I really hope that the next Motorsport game will have an improved and much more challenging AI.
And as a fan of GT3 racing, I hope that they will have all of the latest GT3 cars + some old ones that don't get used anymore.
