I have a SWANN security POE camera system. Water got into 2 of the camera POE connections over the years and finally killed the signal I contacted SWANN to ask for the wire diagram and they told me that it was THEIR wiring and it was not to the public AFTER long searching the interweb and youtube i found this video IT WORKS!!!! I have to use the T568B wire but it WORKS and saved me lots of $$ to replace the cameras THANK YOU!!!!!
Thank you very much dear it's really helped... I spend hours to do this but after watching this video I found I connected the cables totally in reverse order ;) Lots of respect for you, from: Dubai
MANY MANY MANY thanks i got my camera's working again ! tho i soldered them straight to a one line utp cable that goes straight to the POE switch and it works !!! :D
Just wanted to say thanks I the sun ate up 2 cameras rj45 plugs when I went to unplug them the connector fell apart I had already bought a new one I just fixed one of them. Soldering works great no issues video stream looks perfect. Instead of twisting I put tiny heat shrink on and butt soldered the wires to one another I fly lot of RC so tiny wire soldering was easy.
You can get RJ45/8P8C connectors designed for stranded cable that don't come loose. Good to know the colour coding though, thanks very much for sharing.
Awesome. Going to try this today. I was thinking this may be a good opportunity to generate some toxic lead fumes! Can you expand on what you mentioned about the wiring reducing potential bandwith. Is that because you just crimp them and didn't solder, your crimping style, or because you insulated them from each other with just tape? Would prefer not to loose any throughput and I have very high MP cameras. Guess I'll compare the throughput of them as I fix mine before and after solder with an identical camera that hasn't been damaged.
Ivw comw across a problem in my rewiring situation with my hemivision 311, my eathernet wiring has one black wire left to rewire onto main camera cord, and the reset button wiring has a black wire as well, but the wiring coming out of my camera has only one black wire left to use, im baffled, would they of both been connected to the one? Or do I need to dig deeper into the camera wiring end and hunt for some Mia black wire that maybe got pulled out further in?
hey, i did the whole thing as the video says, but as i connected the camera into POE, it says “IP camera does not exist” but says its connected in POE settings. Did i make something wrong wiring or is that some else issue? would love to get your answear
i cut off the dc jack only, careful to not let any 2 wires touch and now the IR doesn't work. despite being powered of PoE, Chinese ip cam EDIT: red to red and black to black, the dc jack doubles as connection/union for 2 red and 2 black wires.
This is a very helpful clip.Anyone know how I can get the colour code information for a annkeP121 9 wires ? Customer service Tech department not helpful
It appears as if the pinouts for both A & B schemes are reversed for blue-blue/white in the chart provided by Hikvision. Don't know if these pinouts are merely passthru's, but just wanted to point it out.
I can't believe that someone is generous with her time to help others and ungrateful people make idiotic remarks. Making constructive criticism is fine and helps everyone, but uninformed crude remards is just rude.
An rj45 will have water intrusion no matter what unless you encase it. But they make crimp connectors for stranded cable. They are smoke color instead of clear and they come with a boot/ strain relief. But you are supposed to twist the copper and when you insert it into the crimp jack the sheathing or outer jacket of the cable needs to be inside the insert and the rectangle push in is supposed to press and hold the wire in. The pins for the stranded have 2 hooks instead of the stab in on the solid connector. Also those female/ female adaptors are the #1 cause of most of my call outs for no network reports.. they just dont hold the connectors tight in and properly seat the connections. But either way they just came out with a crimp universal connector where you pull the individual wires through the connector itself, no stripping, no guessing if the wires are all the way in or nothing just line up the colors and crimp, it cuts all the wirez flush.. good lil deal there...
Is there a way to remove the ethernet connector? Otherwise I have to drill a 25mm diameter whole through a 300mm thick brick wall just to fit this bulky thing...
you will need to drill the hole. Some cameras have the comms cable as a plug in connector on the camera main board and some are soldered on, so you would need to open the camera to see.
hi can you please help me find the color pattern for q see 1080p ip camera. I have four cameras not working due to the plugs pins broken and I can't find the color code for model qcn8004b. thanks
hello, I would need if you can upload an image, of how the union of colors looks, since I watched the video but I do not understand much English and it is not clear what color of the camera with the color of the network cable Black: Orange/white Brown: Orange Green: Green/white Orange: Blue Red: Blue/white Yellow: Green Purple: Brown/white Blue: Brown ?
I had a Rat chew through my cable and my camera is a six wire, 2MP Camera from Techage which appears to use a Hikvision camera just branded differently. My wires are O/W, Orange, Blue, Grey, White, Black. A total of 6 wires. I can't seem to find the equivalent Cat 5 color codes. Any thoughts. The rats didn't leave me the RJ 45 receiver to do a pin out test unfortunately. If anyone has the coding, I would be grateful.
The pigtail cable of my bran new 4k Ip camera got eaten midway by a rat and I don't know why it loved the cable . I don't think this is covered by the warranty so I might have to do this but I am going to need some magnification lol

Hello, do you know where to buy a replacement pigtail cable for an ip camera? I've been looking all around and can't find one. Thanks

This worked perfectly! The colour matching of the wires helped a great deal! Thank you!

Yes...shamefully rude mards. The world needs more people who pay attention to detail like you do. High five.
