- Got a damaged RJ45 Ethernet connection on your IP security camera? That's the worst. Here's a quick fix that just may be able to save your camera.
A damaged RJ45 connection on your security camera not only stops your camera from working, but it also voids your warranty. But before you throw away your camera, try out this hack. Quick disclaimer: depending on the type and amount of damage, this fix may or may not work for you. But if the damage is confined only to the connection, this should be able to get your camera back up and running.
The process is simple. Cut off the damaged connection. Crimp an RJ45 Ethernet connection onto your camera's pigtail. Using an Ethernet coupler, reconnect your camera to your network.
It's easier said than done, and it can be a bit tricky. But with a little practice, you should be able to get your damaged camera working again.
This video demonstrates how to fix your R-Series connection. Depending on your camera, the order and colors of your wires may be different. If you don't have R-Series, click here to check out our blog post to help you figure out your camera: https:nellyssecurity.com/rj45-fix

Just did it, thanks for the video guide!
use a scrap piece of wire in the connector spots that are suppose to be left empty to help line the wire pins up. also if a solid wire you may consider a keystone puncheon jack instead of using a coupler.
Thanks for doing this video. Need to do this to one of my cameras
Awesome, hope it helps!
THANK YOU SHARING BROTHER
brilliant video thanks
DIFFERENT COLORS Just completed my best try at repair and the camera works. In my ANNKE Model 151DJ, the wires were all solid colors and to FIND the sequence at the connection which was totally blitzed. I found nothing online with these colors shown. I had to dissect the core. I used your spacing and physical sequence in the old plug in this order: Orange Yellow Green (Grey) Purple Blue Brown (White) I cut short the Grey and the White before inserting in RJ45.
Thanks great job
Out of curiosity, why didn't you use a cat5e or cat6 module. And to weather proof it use a small price of heat shrink. As well as some of those wires may be stranded. If that's the case soldering the wire carefully then punching it into a module may be easier.
I got also waterdamage, my cam is an unbranded one has 6 pin colors of an cat5e rj45, its missing only blue pins, does someone know what color sequence i have to use for the rj45 plug.
thank you 😊.

I have an acesse IP camera, it has 5 single stand wires in a color scheme I can't find on the internet. Black, blue. Purple, green and green/white. It's powered by separate power cord. Unsure how to wire into new female connector

thanks, mine after completing the convection it work only with 12 volts direct current ,why?
What model of camera are you using? Was the original connector badly damaged? Its possible the pins could have been shorted out inside the camera as well, causing it to not support POE anymore. Or you can try redo'ing the connector replacement.
@@NellysSecurity thanks, no only one pin was damaged, this happened after connector replacement , could it be from the camera? how to find out ,?
