Blooming heck! What a day! talk about all go and all that freight, I've haven't seen that much for ages. I just love it when you get things wrong , proves that no one is perfect. you keep talking to yourself as it makes me chuckle! have a biscuit you Brighton Belle!!!!
It was one of the best days that I had at Stafford in a very long time and I would happily do it all over again if I could. I may end up just doing a video where I spend the entire time just talking to myself haha, I will go and have a great many biscuits lol
I love the class 25s peaks and the class 40s they were the trains I used to enjoy watching in Oldham clegg Street railway shed in 1980. Sadly they closed that railway depot. I miss seeing those old parcel trains and the shunter.
I was never a fan of the 47’s as when younger and lived in Birmingham they were so common, on so many trains, the era you talked about watching videos of, were my bashing days, my favourite were 37’s on the North Wales coast in their final years on their, and some of the trains ran through to Birmingham, and one train I loved was the 23.30 approx from Bham Int to Holyhead with a 37 and a Mk1 compartment to my self blasting through the tunnel out of New Street heading North, absolute Hellfire, other locos bashed were 31’s,20’s.37’s,50;s,33’s,45, 56 ‘s and 58’s and then 85, 86 all sub classes and 87-90’s, etc, those were the days,
I would have loved to have been doing my spotting back in the gold old days of BR with so much variety in traffic running around all over the place, I would have very much loved being on the 37 hauled service
mmmm great video J , loved your wonderfull waffle , just would.nt be the same without a bit of waffle . City of truro was fantastic my fave , i can remember them being built at Loughborough in my youth Always recall going on a sunday on what B R called "mystery trips " from Nottingham it always went to a seaside town mostly down south but you did'nt know exactly where you ended up but we always got a clss 47 either 47 200 or 47 205 and can you emagine being pulled all day behind one of those it was fantstic . So yes J a fantastic pat 2 as ever look forward to your next destination where ever it may be thanks for sharing loved it stay safe matey A T B Syd
Thanks very much I had such a great time getting this all put together, this station is always amazing to come to! I would have loved to have gone on one of those 'mystery trips'
Stuttery recording - could be time for a new SD card. - - - mileage accumulation runs - is that for running-in, or seeing what breaks or falls off, before the stock is released into regular use?
I'm thinking it is time for a new SD card as I have had this one for about 5 years now so it has been given some fair old usage that's for sure! The mileage accumulation runs are to ensure that there are no defects on the train. If I'm not mistaken the train has to run for about 2000 miles faultlessly before being accepted into traffic. This is for every unit that runs in the UK.
I wonder which is the most expensive car train in the UK! I'm guessing it could be the Morris Cowley to Southampton car train because their cars. BMW Mini's to be more specific, are completely covered inside blue cartics similar to the mixture of auto rack trains in the US that use wagons from different companies that most likely haul different sorts of cars. The tank containers incidentally are more specifically sugar containers if I am not to be mistaken, so there's something new to you there!
An excellent part 2 there sir despite the jittering with the camera and certainly plenty of freight to be seen! Even with two parts at Stafford, perhaps a surprise to see there being Avanti West Coast 221 Super Voyagers in them! I've had a little peek on Realtime Trains on Cross Country departures from Birmingham New Street and there is one to Nottingham departing at 09:49. I put it up because your next station is supposed to be Birmingham New Street and Cross Country services on the Cardiff/Birmingham/Nottingham route are one of quite a few routes that are affected by engineering works I think. I thought I would give some advice in advance just in case you'll be on the trains to those stations. I just want to make sure that everything goes well for you considering the number of stations that you have decided to cover on Saturday plus it would be nice to see all of the films get released! Also I'm guessing you found a software that worked in order to get this video released. Which one was it if you did?
Thanks very much, I'm not to sure as to why my camera was juddering but it doesn't seem to be a regular thing which I can take in comfort. I certainly appreciate all of the effort you're going into in regards to giving me travel information for all of the routes I would have been taking for that weekend, obviously that didn't happen but I still appreciate it all the same. I think the editor that I found was InShot
If you held fire for ten minutes longer, you would have seen a DB Cargo UK 66 on the Trafford Park Euro Terminal to London Gateway DB Cargo intermodal train. Mind you the 90's deserved to be the final train of the day, so fair play to you ending it after them! 😂
How can you even see what cars are in those covered cartics? You sure do have good eyes! Some twin deck cartics now have a new look to them and they can mainly be found on a new flow on Toyotas running to and from France I believe but to Dollands Moor before then as Realtime Trains would put it and under DB Cargo UK operation I believe. Interesting to see some newly liveried black cartics on the Land Rover car train as well. I think eight of the cars were in the refurbished black cartics, two in each one, and the rest were in the red cartics. Originally you had some covered cartics in white and four in white with red on the bottom sides. Obviously they probably got repainted to red. The twin deck cartics would have had some in white before having red colours on them. The overall variety of cartics here in the UK sure does vary in both type and colour! Halewood to Southampton must be quite a lengthy journey like most car trains. We could have said choose any make and model you like! I'm sure the driver had the keys! Fingers crossed some of this year's films feature car trains, more especially the rush hour films.
Well that particular service had always been the Halewood (Jaguar/LandRover) Southampton and has always consisted of brand new Land Rovers and the occasional Range Rover aswell. But also because of where I was standing at the time I could see the cars through the gaps in each freight car. I would certainly like to hope that the driver had the keys on him!
I've also had a peek at Realtime Trains at Nottingham this week and some of the 222's have been seen on some 180 diagrams all week I'm guessing due to probable operational reasons. Only one 180 has been out each day, so you might not be lucky on Saturday but you did say that you would be happy with whatever turns up, so I'm sure it will be good nonetheless! It would be good to see the Midland Mainline feature more often and I'm sure it will! Looking at the list of videos from Bedford, I reckon it was four years since you were last there and looking at the ones from St Pancras International, I reckon it was three years since you were last there! I wouldn't be surprised if both of those stations feature this year rush hour or not! These are just suggestions as I know some stations did miss out last year and they would deserve to be put out of their misery! You did miss 221142 and 22112 on a service to Blackpool North from London Euston plus return if it counts I think plus an Edinburgh to London Euston service with 221116 and 221114! They themselves went to Blackpool North and back later on incidentally. What could have been though if the timing was just that little bit better eh?
Hey hope all is well sorry i havent seen your awesome videos recently I've been sooo busy recently travelling to and from London and also I've been working loads and at college a lot. Perks of being 20 eh?

The reason why they don’t use 90s on that Felixstowe North To Crewe Bas Hall Freightliner is because it goes via Peterborough and Leicester
That would certainly explain it, why I never thought of that in the first place is beyond me
Great video thanks
It was great meeting you
Likewise
that 47 is stunning!!!
It most certainly is
Great 2 parter buddy the highlight being a real loco !! Dirty..noisy..magnificent !!😁

Thanks very much, I had such a great time here with all the traffic that was passing through
Lovely sounds from 47749 :-)

Edinburgh don’t run via Trent Valley. They always go via the West Midlands like Coventry Birmingham and Wolverhampton
I realised that after I said it, although I never corrected myself

I would have to say that the car train that passed me on this occasion would have to be the more expensive of the car trains that work in the UK
Great video

Great video👍

Great video. The 730s look great but the 323s will be sorely missed by me. I like the sound on the 730s but they don't beat the faulty F1 cars.
F1 cars? How do start off by talking about trains and end on F1 cars?
@@meself207 It's because if you listen to a 323 departing it sounds like a very ill F1 car

to be fair normally that train has a different type of waggon where the cars are completely covered up

Maybe so much freight uses the West Coast Mainline because of through rails to the South Coast.
It's the busiest mixed traffic route in the UK
