He is so humble and down to earth. You can’t beat that kind of personality. He loves to perform his art and doesn’t care in front of who or where or how many show up. That is the true gift of art and what the artist presents to the world! To be that humble, is a rare gem. Geoffrey, you are superb! Great actor, and human being. ❤️

I haven’t seen comments about how Charlie Rose sits quietly and simply lets Rush speak about this incredible role....it’s totally wonderful to hear Rush’s synopsis, relaxed, without shoving himself into the mix. I loved this film so much....the “Rach 3” breakdown scene was simply amazing!

Mr.Rush, you are a striking and memorable in any movie I have seen with you and I fell in love with the way you do your art, gentle on one side and vulcanic on the other…thank you🤗

    The movie Shine has
awakened my creative side. It is an important film.
Being eccentric since I was a child... the understanding of myself I gained through learning about David Helfgott has energized my true self and nourished a self love at last...
    It is THRILLING!

I imagine that being a teenager alone in London far removed from friends and family would not have helped his situation.
It is a fact that many children born to Holocaust survivors have serious challenges to overcome in navigating life.

David Helfgott has all the characteristics of a person with Savant Syndrome along with Asperger's Syndrome which is the cause of his behavioral quirkiness. I don't think that he is a schizophrenic, bipolar or anything like that. He is a classic Savant, a genius piano player with Asperger's.

He proceeded to spoil the whole movie when asked to tell people what it’s about to get their interest. Majority of people will be like, you just told me the whole movie why watch it?
