Very beautiful video. In October 2017 I was at the event "Old Machinery - Bandsaws Special" in the open-air museum in Wackershofen-Schwäbisch Hall and shot several clips there. That was a treat for technology fans and lovers of old agricultural machinery. best regards Dieter
+joe jerrard-adams A historical artefact. When there was only one motor for three machines that was necessary to switch them on and off. And they kept this when the new motors came, because there is still an advantage: the motor can start without so much load (what means less starting-current).

Fascinating! I've never heard of an underfloor lineshaft system (Unterflur-Transmission) before! All those systems I've seen were mounted to the ceiling.

Very cool band saw! It's built much differently than the band saws built in the usa during that time period. Good luck restoring the shop!
