I am paying for that harbor freight 9” band saw as we speak. The tension mechanism lasted about 2 years before no longer tightening up. Not bad for $120 though. Looking for an older 14” delta now for sure.
I bought a good used old craftsman 12 inch cheap and then ran across a 14 inch grizzly with a 1 hp motor. I kept both, they are set-up with a thin blade on the 12 inch and a thicker blade for resawing on the 14. The 12 inch has wheels and came with 4 or 5 good blades. It's nice having both rather than swapping blades and setting up All the time.
Thank you Highline Guitar's! I was hoping to see a video like this. What about motor horsepower? Is 3/4 horse power enough for a 12 inch bandsaw or is one horsepower and up the standard we should be going for in a 14 inch bandsaw?
Best educational review I've seen yet. From a teacher's view, This is a good teacher with very useful instructions.
Thanks Chris

Good episode with some useful information. Keep it up man.
Thanks for the tips.
Thank you for the informative video.
Thank you.
Thanks Chris. Wish I had listened to your earlier abuse before buying the cheapie. Gonna give it away and search with your advice.

Get as much as you can afford. 1hp is enough, but more will cut faster.
Great video, from what I see, the wheel is 14 inches but the distance from the blade to the side is about 12, am I right?
I believe so
Hello Chris! What size blades would you recommend for guitar building? Also, are your guitar plans are friendly for a common A4 printer?
The only blade I use is a 1/4” four tooth blade. Yes on the A4 question.
