Hey everyone welcome back to another video! Today I am super excited we are taking a look at the TOP 5 best Fifth Wheel Toy Haulers you can buy for 2022. This was a tough category because these RVs are BIG and Beautiful! What I love about Toy Haulers is that they are the Swiss Army Knives of RVs. These spaces are great for everyone!

The #2 Grand Design from 2018 is a good unit that was before Winnebago took over wouldn’t touch anything they have produced in 2020,2021 & 2022 their quality has is NOT the same @ all
The Forest River Riverstone is the one for us. We walked through a unit and fell in love. Two people, one yorkie and an Indian motorcycle, it’s perfect.
The Forest River Riverstone is really nice but the main reason I like toy haulers is because of the extra garage space which is more like a “flex” space. That extra space offers a lot of possibilities for usage. That rear garage space in the Riverstone is extremely limited. It’s really just one huge bottom storage space. So I don’t think I would put in that category.
One of the few reasons we went with the voltage over the momentum in 2018 was you cant open the storage door if the door is open! And it's still like that 4 years later. They could at least use friction hinge doors. The one reason I won't buy an alliance over my voltage is water capacity. We have 160gal which we love so we can stay out in the woods and desert longer. If alliance adds more water, we'll take a serious look.
I read some of the comments and found people should look at your older videos and they will see why Alliance is #1! You just need to do a good Matt walk-through. I don't own an Alliance, don't get paid by Alliance, but after seeing all the regular items, their way ahead of other manufacturers. Alliance listens to feed back and customers, Alliance isn't owned by a huge corporation trying to make money and find short cuts. Thank you Matt, your #1 reviewer for a reason, your spot on!

Hi Matt! It was nice to see Tara fool Changing Lanes on your channel. Sorry Chad was not there. These 5 picks of fifth wheels were great! Glad they were picked. I liked the Alliance Valor and the Grand Design and Heartland. I see Heartland and I think of the show I watch called Heartland. It’s a great show about horses and family life. And it has been on for 15 years. But anyways, they are all nice picks. They all have great floor plans. Thank you Matt!
Don’t know many using a toy hauler that don’t transport a 4 seater UTV. A 13 foot garage is useless. You need 14’ minimum, unless you’re going to take tires and wheels on/off all the time. Grand Design Momentum 350G, 14’6” garage!
Great to see Tara from Changing Lanes we watch their channel here, sorry Chad did not make it. All these look great but some of us look for the smaller units and changes there as well. Still Matt your reviews is most informative and I believe should be seen by anyone planning to purchase or upgrade camping.

Thanks for this video. We've been waiting for you to talk about Cyclones as their floorplans are awesome but their reputation for quality isn't so go. We're hoping that Alliance, Grand Design, and other manufactures take notice. Or Cyclone steps up their quality.
All these are great, but only a Cyclone floorplan works for us. Three things we love about the Cyclones:
* Garage facing loft. The person sleeping in the loft isn't kept awake or bothered by people watching TV in the living area.
* Master bed. East/west bed + retracing makes so much space in the master. It makes the bedroom usable during the day (i.e. home office)
* Living area with a kitchen. With toy haulers it is normally one or the other. I'd like an option of replacing a couch for a *usable* dinette.
Three things we don't like:
* Quality - Lots of bad stories of Heartland online. Personal friends had a frame failure and another owner we met said that the quality was worse than his Keystone. We have a Keystone Cougar that we've fulltimed in all over the US/Canada with hardly any issues.
* No front W/D hookups. I know they have them in the back, but I'd like the option of putting it in the front OR back.
* 1/2 bath is a waste of space - I expect people will disagree but for us it takes up a lot of space and is only rarely needed. I'd much rather have the living space. Also, the extra work when dumping... Typically these rear baths are separate tanks and more time at the dump station. We disconnect the water to ours and use it as a closet.
Cool .. always nice to be able to compare.
That riverstone, your 5th pick, is in a class of a toy hauler of its own... and number one on my list... hopefully I'll own one soon... ...
Been watching your reviews for a good year now. Enjoy your reviews. Learned a lot. But think that you may have missed, in our view, best Grand Design toyhauler layout contender- the 2022 Grand Design Momentum 395MS. Really neat living area. Only thing we didn't like was the North-South master bed.
Seismic 4212, 4113 and/or 3950 should have been given a look here. The Seismic and Momentum are usually 1 and 2 on most top 5 lists.
Have to agree Jeff! I still have not seen a toy hauler that has a better floorplan than the 4113!!! The elevated kitchen and extra storage that gives you hasn't been beat! I have a 2017, and the only thing I would change is the master bath. I like the shower they put in the 2018+ better than the tub I have. I would spend money to remodel the bathroom before buying any of the new ones I saw here...

The one feature that needs an update,is to move the washer/dryer opt.out of the mast bedrm. or m-bath. Looking at these incredible toy- haulers and picturing a family or group of adult friends spending time together .then the time comes time to use the laundry, it's being done in your bdrm.just saying.
The Alliance Valor has a stack able Washer/Dryer prep in the garage (watch the quick walk thru, you see the prep station to the right of the door as he goes back into the living/Kitchen) so you do not have to take up closet space in the master. Drawback, less garage space. We are getting a Valor 42V13 with the side patio and rear ramp/patio. The biggest thing that swayed me to Alliance is their customer service. They have a team of customer service people that will help you get things fixed if you have a problem. Better than most others. Also, I love the Azdel walls. Will not have wall/water/lamination problems with that in the walls.

Cyclone 4007 should've been on this list for sure!! Also, the Valor 42v13 is amazing!!
Love the Alliance Valor! But it needs more aluminum (like ATCs), and less wood. Why don't you add MSRP info with each review???

From a new guy perspective, i thought #5 should of been #1 and #1 should of been #5. Paint job on #5 did look fantastic but paint jobs are last on my priority list. I feel like top 5 should not be based on only changes, but overall factors, from tech, practicality, comforts, luxury, and attention to detail.
I agree. 5 is forced to optimize space, which means every single thing is positioned correctly. I HATE diagonal and angled couches that make you twist your head. Idk, everything feels like TOO MUCH. #5 would be amazing for me and my wife to have everything we need plus a nice desk for her computer stuff.

I had the forest river riverstone 39FKTH...had nothing but problems...couldn't run the generator and the furnace on propane. Had to take it to the factory in Elkhart Indiana...we got the keystone fuzion 424 love it 2021
OMG, the #1 spot!! EVERY TIME!
Looking at the Grand Design Momentum 398MR. Largest garage 18'. Plus double bunks, Residential fridge and half bath in the back. Only wish they plumbed for a washer and dryer in the garage area next to the half bath.
#5 is perfect in my opinion and I think it should have been #1 🤨😁✅
Riverstone is #1 BECAUSE it is in a class of its own!

I really like toy haulers. I think you missed the mark when you didn't include Jayco Seismic Luxury Series 4113. Forestriver Nitro as well.

@@stevereid9913 we have had a couple of camping RVs and both were Jayco‘s and did not have any major issues with them. I will have to say that most RVs are going to have a little issues with their craftsmanship and quality. Unfortunately, it’s just the way things have gone in the industry. My brother had a Keystone, it was really nice and had a lot of features with stainless steel appliances, bunkbeds and this and that, but after a couple years, it just started falling apart, cheap overall build quality! Best of luck with your decision. But in my opinion, Jayco makes a great RV/camper.
@@stevereid9913 sorry for the late reply. Verizon sucks! I personally think Jayco makes one of the better trailers. Living up here in Montana, obviously RV country and knowing lots of people they seem to handle up better than most. Them other brands and I would say 90% of all the models out there are made by Keystone out of Indiana. Quality in my opinion has just went to crap like everything else. The material they use just falls apart. That’s not to say that Jayco won’t do the same thing down the line. They all seem to be getting cheaper and cheaper built. But based on, what I’ve seen and dealt with Jayco seems to last a little longer than most.i

That Forest River would be Perfect if you could get TWO ATV's side by side back there , it does not look like you can ... wish they made it Wider as your already giving up space .
Why does The Grand Design 395 MS have such a small amount of outside storage? What do you gain inside by giving up the outside storage?

How well insulated is the Alliance compared to Grand Design?
You should break this up for West Coast best and East Coast Best, anything in the West coast with a garage smaller than 15.5 is not a toy hauler, that would be a travel trailer with a closet, For the West coast, Sand Cars, Rock Buggies, ect, Momentum is the only 18-Foot separate garage , everything else in the industry is a copy,
Can you do top 5 toy haulers to full time in?
I have yet to find a fifth wheel toy hauler floor plan that I like better than the Grand Design Momentum 353G or 393G.

Where is the voltage 4225 or the cyclone 4006?
Matt love your reviews but really wish you would use a microphone! Sometimes it’s hard to hear you if you turn your back or move away from the camera. Just think it would make your channel more professional.
What specifically about the Valor beat out the Momentum, other than the full body paint?
I know from an owner standpoint the Valor is built out of better quality materials and they are assembled better as well.
We didn't upgrade the paint but we are Absolutely satisfied with our 40v13 👍

What's a good half ton towable bumper pull toy hauler?
Nothing really in a fifthwheel.
Interesting review. What about cost, maintenance, reliability, repairs, towability, energy efficient, service and general carriage, structure, framework, tires brakes etc...anybody can make something pretty. What about the unseen. The guts of the R V. Just asking because I'm looking for &/or planning to have one made for me. Senior Citizen, no wife or kids, one bedroom for guest. I sleep on a recliner. No bunks, full bath in garage with large sink for cleaning tools etc. Possible washer and dryer in garage, garage with patio and large enough for Mazda Miata, generator tools etc. Garage with slide out. What can I say I'm just an Ole Country Boy with a dream of freedom and still wants to play with his toys.

I feel like your channel is biased towards the Alliance Brand, I personally don't care for that paint scheme but that is just me. I like the Momentum with the 2 full baths for the #1 spot.
I am getting a Valor 42V13, in the basic paint scheme. I also do not like the full body paint yet, they have some work to do in that area. The second full bath is nice, if you are like 90 pounds soaking wet. The average person cannot fit in that tiny corner shower, just saying. I cannot answer why they seem biased towards the Alliance brand. But whatever it is that gets Matt to give Alliance their #1 spot most of the time, is the same thing that got me to buy their unit. The list of reasons is too long to list here (101 of them in their Valor page).

I definitely disagree I believe I said this before the 2017 XLR nitro 29kw side deck toy hauler is way better because you don't have to put the slide in to use that trailer and it has so much potential to do other things besides of what it does now you could easily put a wash and dryer combo underneath the kitchen counter facing the garage and you can turn the master bed sideways and make a huge closet and that side is awesome does other campers don't even come close

We have been living in our Alliance Valor 40v13 since December 17th with no skirting. We live near the capital city of Boise Idaho and have been nice and cozy through the winter 😉

The 2023 Alliance Valor 37V13 is by far my favorite! Max GVWR is well within what my new, 2024 Chevy 3500HD with gas engine and 10-spd Allison can pull. > Residential-size shower, King or Queen Bed, Comfy, 3-cushion theater seats that put you in front of a well-placed entertainment center! A large, 13' garage big enough for a home office, storage and toys! Best of all, what you did not mention.. Alliance products are Warranted for "Full-time" use. Not sure any other's can make that claim.
Really don’t care for that Valor paint job. Of those I like the Grand Design, why don’t they put the WD where the 1/2 bath is located?
Totally agree... That paint job is hideous... But they are number one cause "full body paint" was on it 🤣
i just dont u/s how alliance made the top since they have so many small flaws that are such big mistakes/lack of thought(not saying they dont have a good rig)??? big deal a diff paint job.... but since this was a quickie video no time for all that??? IMO the top is the DRV lx455

I wish I would have left my XLR Nitro on the lot. What a mistake. It wouldn’t make a top 50 list.
Can't believe the ATC 5th wheel "Toy" HAULERS (really capable CAR haulers!!!) didn't make your list for overlooked features!? 1.) Max WEIGHT and AREA for Toys OR CARS !!! (I put a 3,800 lb Camaro ZL1 1LE in it !) 2.) 100% ALUMINUM FRAME, SIDES AND ONE PIECE ROOF !!! (No dissimilar materials to separate, like steel , wood, or TPA roof!) 3.) 200 GALLONS OF FRESH WATER for boondocking. 4.) LIGHT WEIGHT; only 12,600 lbs with over 8,000 LBS of CARRYING CAPACITY !!! Plus many other features like 3 AC units, fiberglass shower (not plastic), solar panels, lithium batteries, generator, real oven , residential fridge, etc. Basically it should last several generations like an Airstream ...for RV's interested in VALUE AND LONGEVITY along with CAPACITIES and QUALITY ....besides just a pretty RV!? Your BEST RV TOY HAULER opinions coulda / shoulda included these items for your viewers to help with their decision making !?
#5 is the #1 rest of them can't even touch quality and functionality of the Riverstone / Cedar Creek 385TH ...
10:16; 85: if the make the bottom of drawers be ply wood & slide in or slide out from the back slide into a slot. Then if u need a taller draw but same look u hve any draw be front & sides draw no bottom taller, just store it in 1 of the other drawer by hving slots be able to hve 2 sheets or 1 sheet of ply wood or filler foam like a tool box that compresses & holds/grabs loose stuff, GOD patent easy $ 10 dollars per rig of drawers, to use that for 10yrs, if I can bring to market or 55 dollars if not on market w/in a yr or two. Only if not cursed evil demon satanic race or worldly demon corp.

Hving a AC powered air compressor & a DC powered slow or soft start unit at all 3 location means 6 total but, the ability to really hve 3/4 units on if only small dc size, plus godly ability to hve 3/4 units on but hving all 4 not in garage WoW GOD I know good damn good to be imprisoned hear moment longer then maximum must be hear to end every soul here not harvested hear purged to be forever better for it, eternity on.
Matt I’ve watched many videos for a long time with you and love them BUT when you started doing these too 5 videos I knew alliance was going to win if they were in the category. I know WIL & his wife have one and I’ve said in the past I’m a fan of the alliance. I’m getting the feeling they may be a sponsor or doing your channel big favors. There is no way in heck you can put that alliance above the riverstone and your excuse was the riverstone was in a league of its own but if that’s the reason you shouldn’t had them in the running. No doubt in my mind you will not agree with me and that’s ok.
Thanks for the comment... So believe it or not Alliance didnt win every category they were in... How we decide on who wins is part opinion which we do love Grand Design and Alliance! But also we did a poll in every category... Alliance has a loyal following and alot of people voted for them.... Also I agree that the Riverstone is better but its not a real toy hauler... its more of a luxury 5th wheel with a small garage!

The Riverstone is beautiful, but even you admitted it's not a real toy hauler... It shouldn't have been in the running... Totally missed out with not having a Jayco seismic Luxury is a huge miss... Must be kick backs from Alliance since if they are in the category you can know they will win... I guess of you add full body paint you are the best haha
@@lifeaftereverything4986 So all of the toy haulers you are only hauling motorcycles and maybe a Small UTV ! Other than that it is living space or office space. Yes the Riverstone is a high bread . It is head a shoulders a higher quality than any other toy hauler on his list.

And I say 5th wheels are dum worst case scenario something happens to your dually truck so do you just leave your fifth wheel where it is at out in the middle of nowhere and when you come back somebody broke into your fifth wheel with a bumper pull toy hauler or car hauler you can put a vehicle in there that could actually bat toy hauler car hauler because you could put a 350 engine in a two-door or four-door Jeep now comprehend that
These are for rich people. Rv,truck,sxs. Over $200,000.

think its funny..you go to different campgrounds and see a keystone and a forest river..they argue which one is a bigger pos..pvery poorly made..way to much money invested for crap

Matts reviews get worse and worse, time unsubscribe.... First off the #5 is horrible, anyone i know with a toy hauler loves the walkthrough garage it's outside/inside entertaining area.... How on gods green earth is the Raptor 429 not on this list.... Its one of a few that have the side patio and its huge, the side patio is a game changer and a lot of people are wanting that more then other things. If you actually use a toy hauler you spend time outside anyway....
