Hi Everyone, We hope you enjoyed our video! Which Travel Trailer with a Toy Hauler was your favorite? Please say hello by leaving a comment below! Also, please feel free to ask any questions or just tell us about yourselves. We want to get to know you and share our RV experiences.
Hi Falcon 4 We didn't cover any of the outside accessories in our video because the video would be way too long. We just do over views and then figure folks will look up the details if they like a particular model. Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike
I've had a Roadmaster Camp master toy holler since 2002. One piece of advice for everyone. Make sure you have a dividing wall between you and anything that has gas in it. It stinks up your entire trailer. 2) make sure your chopper is long enough it fits in it. 3 make sure the ramp isn't to steep that you get high centered. 4 make sure it's meant for long hauls and built on a car chassis. If you don't you will find interior walls strips laying on the floor when you come to a stop and check your bike strap downs. 5. Make sure your windows are seamless so your window walls don't rot out. 6 save yourself a bundle of money and buy a ATC trailer with a dividing wall. The trailer holds it's value sense it's 💯 aluminum.
I hope we get a chance to see a few Northwood RVs. Haven't been any at the RV shows or dealerships we have visited. Thanks for the suggestion. And thanks for watching and commenting Zac!
Hi ralphplaza1 You aren't the only one to call me Sean Connery. I take it as a great compliment! Not sure how Mr. Connery would feel about it! lol! Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan
I have the 2021 Cruiser Stryker 2916 Toy Hauler that we really like. We haul two fully dressed Harley Touring bikes with no problem. I made one modification to mine this winter in that I replaced the linoleum from the back side of the slide all the way to the ramp making the flooring much more stable when loading and unloading the bikes.

Really liked your video on the Toyhauler travel trailers. I wish there was someone that would do a similar video but include which toyhauler can accept a Harley Davidson Trike! Most of the garage door openings are not wide enough for a Trike . Every toy needs some fudging room. You did good!

On the first hauler, The flip up stove top I don’t think it’s facing the wrong way because if you think about it, if you’re leaving the side door open or someone is going in and out, if that door is open then you could either be hit by the door while cooking, or while cooking the door will take up space that you need

I have everything needed for camping except a toilet, it just takes a while to setup compared to a hardsided trailer. Maybe just need a cargo trailer to haul everything.
Or tow with a van. That way you can haul a bunch of camping gear with you. Less Junk More Journey used to have a set up like that. Thanks for watching! Mike

I love the Grand Design. it looks like there's a little escape door in the garage section. In the Garage area there's the double bunk and I can add a computer chair to use as my office. Love the sliding glass door. I can see other people, but don't have to hear all the conversations. yea

I own a 38 ft toy hauler 2020 Cherokee grey wolf rr27 I really like it alot. Made alot of easy modifications inside that could of been easily added by by the manufacturer to create more storage space to accommodate our FT RV living.

So the stove opening opposite the door seems to be as a protection for people entering and exiting the trailer. The hot food and pans as well as bumping into the cook will not be a hazard. But I know you figured that out right AFTER you posted the video lol. Tell me you did eventually! Hahaha

Out of every toy hauler travel trailer we’ve looked at, the Grand Design Momentum 29G is the most luxurious one we’ve found. When you were quoting the specs on that model, you misspoke. You said the weight was 12,000 pounds. I think you meant the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating which isn’t 12k, it’s actually 13k according to their website. The dry weight is 8,700 which means it could be towed by most half ton trucks with a weight distribution hitch. Three things about this model really set it apart to us. 1. The half bath in the garage. If you have friends staying with you, they won’t disturb you in the master bedroom every time someone needs to pee, especially if someone has to go in the middle of the night. 2. The garage has a wall separating it from the living area. If you have toys with gasoline in their tank, the gas fumes are contained in the garage. Gas sloshing around in the tank of your toy on your way to your destination is going to make a big smell. On the models with no separating wall, now the whole rv smells like gas when you arrive at your destination. 3. This model comes with a 4000 watt Onan generator. We have never seen a travel trailer with an onboard generator. What’s so awesome about this feature is that if you want to stop in a rest area to spend the night on the way to your destination, you can push a button and VOILÀ!! You have have the ability to crank up the AC or fire up the furnace. The ONLY and I mean ONLY thing (just one!) we can gripe about is the lack of a table in the living area like you mentioned. It would be kind of a pain to have to eat in the garage for every meal, but the plusses FAR outweigh this one negative.
Hi Casey. We love the floor plan of the Grand Design too, for all those features you pointed out! Thank you for watching and commenting valuable information!!
Looking very hard at the new 31 G . Love the 13’ garage and the 1/2 bath is much bigger. Also the kitchen has a little different layout. But it’s a little pricey.
Hi Mike, Let us know what you decide to do! We are always interested in finding new campers to review. Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan
We’ve looked at LOT’S of toy hauler’s. And really like the Grand Design for warranty and overall fit and finish! I think 🤔 next week we’ll be putting in are order 🤩
Thank you for this review especially travel trailers that are toy haulers. This, I feel, is a great catagory, it's like the swiss army knife of travel trailers. Thank you once again, very very helpful! I'm leaning towards the ATC product, perhaps you could do a review of thise???
Thank you for the kind words Phil! We are so glad you found this video helpful. We haven't had the pleasure of meeting ATC yet but we'll be on the lookout! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hi Boosted16, We do a quick overview of all of these 5th wheels and we figure if someone sees one they really like they can look it up on Google and check out all the details. If we include all of that stuff the video will be too long and boring for most folks. Thanks for watching and commenting! I’m sure it does, my bias got the best of me, I’ve just never liked that set up. At least that one has an ext. bedroom door so don’t have to walk past someone on the crapper. 😆
I know this is years old but they have the stove position correctly so that way you can have the door open and not get hit by the door if and when people go in and out❤😊

Hi I am looking for a really basic used toy hauler to carry 2 kayaks.. as I get older I can or don’t want to lift the kayaks (14ft) and pull my back. Plan is to go with couple girl friends so want separate sleeping spaces and as easy to set up as possible. Any info and advice is great. Really enjoyed this Toy Hauler video. With TT toy haulers your need to make sure the “toy” is located over the axles or in front of the axles. If located behind the axles you will take weight off the tongue and not have a properly balanced set up

I really like the last Grand Design you showed. Seems like a great mix of Toy and living space. Do you happen to know the weight capacity of the garage portion only?
RVBlogger Thank you so much for the response. Helps out. One last question, if I may. I have a Ram 3500 Cummins Turbo Diesel 1-ton dually. I really like travel trailers, mainly due to their lower profile and excellent use of space/floor plans , but constantly hear comments like: I should just get a fifth-wheel and trailers sway way to much, etc. Looking for your feedback here. I’m sure with the correct weight distribution/sway systems, I would be perfectly fine. Yes, I’ll deal with sway, but not sure if it will be on the level some have suggested. Granted, I tend to like the trailers that are anywhere from 33-38ft in length so I know that could be a concern. However, Any thoughts to add?
@@JamesDGarland Hi James, My best advice is that you should rent a travel trailer before you buy one. See how you like towing it and how you like camping in it. You could also rent a 5th wheel and see how you like that and then you will have enough knowledge to know which is better for you. We are considering pulling a jeep behind our class C. But before we go out and buy a jeep we are going to rent one for a week and tow it around and see how it goes. I hope this helps. I also have a link to Outdoorsy where you can rent a trailer or 5th wheel and save $50 if you would like to use it. The discount code is RVBlogger50 and the link is goto.rvblogger.com/Save-50-With-Outdoorsy Plus it's a terrible time to buy an RV. Inventory is super low because people are buying them like crazy and the RV plants all shut down in March and April so no RVs were not being built for over 2 months. Prices are high because demand is high and supply is low. Let me know if you have any other questions! Mike
Please respond to my question!!! Where in the United States are you finding the show prices being offered? Here in Utah, rvs are always being sold at 100% MSRP. Help me out and give the state and which show and what month of this show. I am priced out of market here in Utah. But well in the game where you are going. 😳
Hi Nathan, We shot this video over a year ago so the prices are pretty old. Now days the dealers are getting close to MSRP - very few discounts are being offered. Here is an article I wrote about travel trailers under $10,000. I found all of them on RVTrader.com - the NoBo in the article is no longer available. rvblogger.com/blog/camper-trailers-under-10000/ Hope it helps! Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan By the way, we hope you will subscribe to our FREE monthly digital/video magazine called RV Camping Magazine. Let us know how you like it! rvblogger.com/rv-camping-magazine/
Hi Bill, We can't do that. When we shoot video the campers are all in different locations. For example we might have to visit an RV Show and 2 other dealerships to find 8 travel trailers that all have travel trailers. Thanks for the feedback though. Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan
Thank you for your video, it's helpful. These toy hauler trailer seems quite close to the fifth wheel toy hauler in function and price. Do you think these trailers are the better choise compair to the fifth wheels?
Hi browing7 Great question. Personally, I think the 5th wheels are better than the travel trailer toy haulers. Thanks for watching and commenting! The design team must be all men. Those of us that enjoy the outdoors need to see the kitchen spaces. Some of these models do not have any or many kitchen drawers, very inconvenient.

The stove top faces the way it does because of the way the trailer door opens. If you were cooking and someone opened the door you would get whacked in the head.

Hopefully you have taken your motorcycle out of the TT once you are at camp. That's how many open living space toy hauler travel trailers are. If you want a separate garage space you need a larger TT. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hey Miss Plumtree, The answer Google gave me is: The newest member of the trailer family, the Sport Utility RV is often referred to as a “Toy Hauler” because of the garage area built into the rear. This space can be used for hauling motorcycles, quad runners, and personal watercraft, and is separated from the rest of the trailer by a solid wall and an access door. Hi Edison, You are absolutely correct! I have very little UTV knowledge and I don't own one. What are the important things people need to know about a UTV (or ATV) that I can include in future videos? I appreciate your comment because it helps us to make better videos! Thanks for watching and for the feedback. Mike
Hi Edison, Unfortunately we can’t revise videos once they are posted on UA-cam - which really sucks because that means there is a ton of outdated videos floating around out there. But it will help me in future videos. Thanks for the input. I appreciate it. Mike
@@RVBlogger Love your videos RVBlogger! The three main standards of UTVs are 50in wide (standard atv width), 64in wide, and 72in wide... with 72in getting quite popular recently. Something nice to know would be how long a UTV can we fit within each of these categories!
Hey Chad, We're not sure of what you're asking... A travel trailer and a travel trailer with a toy hauler are 2 different things. @@RVBloggerCan you explain the difference? Up to the GD Imagine with the door separating the spaces I would call the first few as toy haulers. That is how they would be classified when doing a dealer site search.
@@mkz6475 I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you referring to the difference between a TT and a Toy Hauler? A toy hauler can be found on a TT, 5th Wheel, and even motorhomes. All these RV styles include a ramp and internal storage for toys like UTV and bikes.
@@RVBlogger thanks for asking! Originally we were looking for a class A for full time with a toad. Now we're leaning towards a fifth wheel toy hauler for full time. It's just 2 of us and 2 dogs. Not sure if you looked into the 1492 coachworks at all. Expensive, but very different. Just a lot to think about.
Toys are motorized vehicles and all sorts of other stuff like kayaks, canoes etc... I guess it's an American thing. Where are you from and what do you call all of that sort of stuff? Mike
@@RVBlogger oh ok great thanks Mike I was I was worried that you were just another UA-camr who wasn't taking this seriously and going out and still videotaping like so many of them are still doing and I don't know why they would do that - You and Susan should make a video of how you guys are doing and how is affecting you and all that so you can let us know how you guys are take care and be safe - Lance from Canada

The last Grand Design Momentum 29G gets my vote
Hi SBRVL,
Can't go wrong with a Grand Design!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Mike and Susan
I just picked up my new Grand Design Momentum 31G. It has a 13ft Garage and it is 36ft long. Kind of like a 29G but more garage space.
I love the Grand Design. it looks like there's a little escape door in the garage section. In the Garage area there's the double bunk and I can add a computer chair to use as my office. Love the sliding glass door. I can see other people, but don't have to hear all the conversations. yea

@@JamesDGarland Hi James,
My best advice is that you should rent a travel trailer before you buy one.
The discount code is RVBlogger50 and the link is goto.rvblogger.com/Save-50-With-Outdoorsy
Plus it's a terrible time to buy an RV.

Hi Nathan,
We shot this video over a year ago so the prices are pretty old. Now days the dealers are getting close to MSRP - very few discounts are being offered.
Here is an article I wrote about travel trailers under $10,000. I found all of them on RVTrader.com - the NoBo in the article is no longer available.

Are you going to bring your motorcycle at the kitchen if not what the hell do you want me to do that
Hopefully you have taken your motorcycle out of the TT once you are at camp. That's how many open living space toy hauler travel trailers are. If you want a separate garage space you need a larger TT. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Why is this called a toy hauler?
Hey Miss Plumtree,
The answer Google gave me is:
The newest member of the trailer family, the Sport Utility RV is often referred to as a “Toy Hauler” because of the garage area built into the rear. This space can be used for hauling motorcycles, quad runners, and personal watercraft, and is separated from the rest of the trailer by a solid wall and an access door.

Toy haulers come in two varieties, Travel Trailer (bumper pull) and Fifth Wheel. This video specifically covers the Travel Trailer variety.

Too bad all of them are completely useless with a 4 seater SXS.
Are they too small? Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
@@RVBlogger yeah typically 4 seaters are 12’-13.5’. Mine is 13.5’ long 68” wide
You need a much bigger garage. Have you checked out ATC? They have a really cool system that lets you reconfigure cabinetry for better layout. atctrailers.com/ We have one of their RVs in this video but it's too small for your toy. ua-cam.com/video/jChu8kJtAoQ/v-deo.html
