Video of the routine I do with the shoulder tube every day before throwing. Shoulder tubes available at OatesSpecialties.com Follow me on twitter: @BauerOutage
staying connected can help velo and command. also improves health and durability. gives you greater spin on the ball, better break on pitches, etc. pretty much helps everything youre trying to do as a pitcher. as for pronation, i do pronate every one of my pitches, but i use a different wrist orientation for them as well as a different grip.
they all accomplish the same thing. i started 8 years ago with the long black one from oates and got used to it so for me, thats the best one. but its all personal preference really
in the off season i will do the whole set of decel with all the balls before i get into my throwing. after my warmup but before i throw with a baseball or weighted softball for the day
Trevor i just want to say welcome to cleveland! Im very excited that you are now a member of the tribe! The fans here are great and we are pumped to have you here! Good luck!!
Hey Trevor, thanks. I just learned about you from a “tool” on UA-cam regarding how you’ll not return to MLB due to human perceptions of your sociological approach to the system which you exist. The pitching coach conflict with the tribe was excellent. Never balk to a lesser mind regardless their position or role. I’ve been out of baseball for a decade plus now, but my right / old throwing arm is not normal (ouch), so the tube caught my interest. I wish you well.
decel dvds are exactly that. teaching about deceleration. once the ball has left your hand. doesnt address lower half. and you dont have to have weighted balls. it is helpful though
Trevor there are a lot of kids and adults that coach those kids that are very interested in your off day routines can you make a video of what you do pitching wise on a day you’re not going to pitch ?
Trevor, I was looking for an updated version of the old “oates protocol” weighted ball throwing program. I have the old workout sheet where you write your numbers down on your velo days but I know it must be updated. The old one says dangles (21 oz, 14, 7, 5, underload), torque (14 oz, 7, 5, underload), hook’em (7 oz, 5, underload), step into (7 oz, 5, underload), turn n burn (7 oz, 5, underload). continued on next post...
do you also use the 4lb ball everyday before throwing? what do you do with it and how many throws? do u also include any isometric holds during your warmup? i know you do post throwing with fiocchi's program but what about before?
Trevor, at what age did you really start taking care of your body when it came to warming up and the ideal steps to take before even throwing a baseball?
I have one of the early solid rubber tubes from Oates. And a couple of short Brookstone tubes. Bought at the store, not online. $20 each. Easy fit in bat bag. But how do they compare to the longer, newer Oates shoulder tube? (thanks).
I just ordered the connection drill dvd and was wondering what kind of equipment do you need? I have a 12 lb medicine ball and a 4 lb medicine ball. Money is a bit tight and was hoping that stuff would be enough. Thanks
I got the deceleration and connection DVD’s from the ranch and they touch on this a bit and I wanted to know if what I came up with is right/what you do. For velo testing days, you go once or twice a week right? When using the weighted balls does it go like this, Walking torque (21 oz, 14, 7, 5, 3.5), hook’em (14 oz, 7, 5, 3.5), step into (7 oz, 5, 3.5), jump backs (14 oz, 7, 5, 3.5), quick picks (7, 5, 3.5)? Is it in that order/weight/drills for the velo testing days?, thanks.
Do you feel that staying connected can greatly improve not only velocity but control as well? Also do you throw all your pitches the same way, i.e. pronation, but just place your fingers differently on the ball?
do u do this in placement of shoulder stretches, because i use something similar to this. i've been told not to stretch the should, but rather warm it up, because when u throw ur shoulder stretches and over stretching a mobile joint could cause pain..whats ur thoughts on it?
Mr. Bauer, you are now unemployable in MLB, not because of the false accusations against you (that you've been more or less exonerated from by a judge's findings), but because you insisted on doing this warm up exercise after your coaches, managers, trainers etc told you repeatedly to stop... You work for them, so you don't have the final say over what you do with your body. Aside from the anecdotes about you being difficult to work with, you had no right to refuse to comply with their orders.

are you trevor bauer?
@@sonofsanto naaaaah he’s his evil clone
this is still GOLD.
Great video, Trevor. We love it at RIPS Baseball / Driveline Baseball and it's seeing increased use in our facility.
yes. do walking torque, hookem, jump backs, step into, quick picks. once you drop a ball, try not to go back to it. thats what id recommend
Welcome to the tribe!! Greets from Venezuela, with you we'll have a great rotation this year.
they all accomplish the same thing. i started 8 years ago with the long black one from oates and got used to it so for me, thats the best one. but its all personal preference really
i do lee fiocchis shoulder recovery routine with the shoulder tube after throwing

Hey man I love your videos and I hope you come back to playing and posting again
Warming up the throw instead of throwing to warm up. I will pass this on to my son for sure.
just a connection ball and a baseball. connection balls are really cheap and you can find something to improvise with if you cant purchase one
completely agree with that. i dont really stretch. just try to warm up
yes. you got it
i do the modified version. for sure. 16 takes way too long. 8 works wonders
ive always done some sort of warm up before throwing so its hard to say when i really started

i do the tube only except for days i actually pitch in which case i do the bands as well

not before no. but yes i throw the 4 lb ball every day

Can you make this video again please and how you go about warm up/recovery now a days?
It's the same thing
Can you post a video of your band excercises that you do?

Does this help for recovery from type 2 SLAP tear surgery to help slowly stretch out the long head bicep tendon for flexibility?

Thinking about the deceleration dvds and was wondering if you need weighted baseballs? Does it teach you lower body mechanics as well?

What about j bands? Do u do them with the tube? Could u do the tube without the bands?

What do you do on game days to warm up before you throw a baseball besides the shoulder tube? I have the shoulder tube and it does wonders.
When u do the accelerated arm recovery post throwing, do u do the entire 16 series routine (day 1 or 2) or the modified version with 8 series'?
What the hell year was this filmed?
looks like it was posted in 2012, so likely around then
Do u do stepping with the wrong foot throws? About 20? With that 4 lb ball
Do you use the same routine before and after throwing?
is this the same thing as body blade
💝
how much is your power clean??
Still doing this?

Well Of Course You Block Me...But I'll Wish You A Happy Belated Birthday Anyway!
Could you take a look at my mechanics and tell me what I need to work on? That would be awesome. Just click on my profile.
