To those complaing about ACC only having GT3-cars: I'd rather have a sim that has a limited amount of cars that are simulated and balanced really well (which we can expect since Kunos are getting actual real-life information from the teams participating in the Blancpain GT Series) than another PCars2 that tries to do everything at once and fails at doing anything properly. What Kunos are aiming for with ACC is a proper E-Sports platform for sim racing and I think GT3 is a good place to start, since they are easy to learn and hard to master. I'm looking forward to some proper online endurance races.
Wylie28 You could say the same about AC. Doing a bit of everything but nothing really good isn‘t just a pcars2 problem, so his argument is valid. ACC is specialised and that is awesome.
This game isn't a replacement of AC. It is like a Forza Motorsport vs a Forza Horizon (it's a branch off series). In a blog post, AC was called "AC1" which implies there is an AC2

Here's the thing about this game people seem to be missing. It's FIA approved, that's the governing body. Meaning they didn't go to Codemasters. Which has everything to do with the fact that more people are playing the original AC right now than F1 2018. In other words, up your measly 20 bucks and make this game a success so we can see AC: F1 someday, along with the many many forms of racing that FIA controls such as WRC. Also, it seems like ACC itself will be most excellent 😄
That's a funny statement, you should look it up. SRO exists because FIA said ok. Blancpain exists because FIA said ok and is regulated by the FIA. GT racing itself is licensed in all regards by the FIA. In fact, the FIA rules all world racing leagues with an iron fist, with the exception of NASCAR. Nothing happens in racing without the nod of the World Motor Sport Council, "the most powerful body of the FIA." They're the gangsters of global auto racing, you don't escape them. And they pick the software developer that gets licensing, for certain.
It's interesting that FIA rules them with an iron fist, but Blancpain allows cars that aren't FIA GT3 homologated (including one we're getting during the ACC EA roadmap). Anyway, FIA have nothing to do with the commercial side of the series that SRO runs.
Interesting, which car are you referring to? The Emil Frey Jaguar G3 was eventually homologated, but Emil Frey are now running a Lexus which might not be yet. Maybe that's why the Jaguar is in the roadmap, but I'm just guessing. And I would agree that FIA doesn't manage commercial aspects of SRO, it's more like the mob allowing someone to sell product on their turf. But all licensing decisions will come from the FIA's WMSC. So keep hope alive for AC: F1 and AC: WRC! Video games are new to old Italian mobsters, but they might figure it out eventually haha =D

You know what would be awesome to implement is online driver swaps for different stints of an endurance race. Say for instance you have a team of 3 drivers for an 8hr online race, during a pit you could choose to change the active driver to another player on your team and the others can spectate as race engineer and/or manage the pit strategy. Doing this could make ACC a high potential esports title featuring actual teams of players for live endurance races.
Im a serious fanatic assetto corsa player, also have a good steering wheel and pedals. Its reality is excellent and as soon the Spa Francorchamps track comes out im using it to train for doing it in real life in the Gt3 competitions 24 hours of Spa Francorchamps. For now on this track it comes very close to real life. But at home wearing gloves and special shoes stays HILARIOUS 😂😂😂. Do it real ( helmet, racing suit, anti fire mask, neckbrace and enough liquid)or don't do it at all, it stays a game. Keep on racing, the only thing im good at 😜
Some of the most fun I had in AC was downloading a big fan made track and taking a non-race car for a drive. As such this new direction doesn't do it for me. It was great way to de-stress.
This car handles well.as you can feel the tires grip or not compared to most cars in AC but that could be my system and old G27. I am not too sold on the controls and mapping but I will get used to it. Nice overview and quick intro Jimmy...
For the people complaining about the lack of other car categories, it’s so hard to understand this is the official game of the Blancpain GT Series? It’s pretty obvious there are only GT3 cars. I don’t see people whining about the lack of LMP category in the F1 2018 game
You look good Jimmy. Glad your doing better. Money helps. Great content. ACC should be interesting. I'm interested in their VR. Only GT3...blah blah blah. Manual is actually driving. Still, it looks amd sounds great. Physics are good. Added: Jimmy, there should be more weight to the cars, not less. Racing cars are still very heavy. The weight is what makes something a simulation over a video game. Granted, as I've always said, you don't want injury, death or even 1/4 of what real racing drivers experience (I would know from driving somewhat competitively) but, it shouldn't be a stroll in the park. I dial FFB and weight way up. "I don't want that for an hour straight in my living room or shed.". Well, then it's not racing. It's driving a grandmother's 35 year old Cadillac to pick up groceries. Consider it a workout. These Sim racers need that especially. No zoomed in views for ease of lap times and no limp noodle FFB, TC or Weight lessoning. You want to call these Simulations and NONE of them mimic real racing. You wouldn't want to do that for 2 minutes, let alone an hour or longer. (You wouldn't want to piss in your racing suit on mom's couch as well. ;) ) I always hope these games put om an expert mode that is actual to the car and FFB and other stuff besides tuning can't be lessoned.
Ich really like the idea of this game. It's basically a FIFA, Madden oder UFC for Blancpain. I am a big GT3 fan, so I really wanted it and then Kunos made it, a dream coming true!
You need to always have your left foot on the clutch, and right foot on the brakes and gas... That's a good practice even though your just playing a game...
:( I just want a nice moddable game, good physics, and a laser scanned Ebisu Minami. I love drifting and it seems like game devs just ignore the drifting community completely. Ac1 had a couple decent drift cars and 1 drift track but other than that we are just invisible to racing developers
Hate to break it to you, but the drifting community is miniscule compared to the GT3 community. There's literally next to no money to be made for Kunos if they put resources into that. You'll probably have to put up with AC and mod-tracks for the next few years, I'm afraid.
@@Law0fRevenge well, you're right... But the drifting community is roughly the same size as some other types of driving that have great Sims dedicated to them.
@@Law0fRevenge I'd at least like a game that has maybe 5 laser scanned drift tracks, and a solid amount of drift cars (Silvia's and Supra, etc). And those cars could even also be used for grip too. I'd just like to see it, whether or not it's realistic. Ya know?
@@Law0fRevenge but also, drifting is pretty big, it might surprise you how many people would get a game like that. The drifting sim community is only this small because we have very very few good games.
Looks and sounds great! My only minuscule problem with ACC is the engineers voice sounds sooo bad xD But yeah as I said,it's a completely minor thing. Definitely will get this if it comes out for consoles eventually like AC did. One question, you said the handling is different than AC's,but is it harder or...? Because I'm a controller scrub and while AC on a controller is perfectly playable...
Ai has some magic anti-hit barrier around the players car. They wont overtake outside, they are just driving the ai lane. Also on your own video it shows some nice magic move 6:52
Since the early access $24.99 price is going on until the end of October to early November, very likely I will get this for my birthday in three weeks ;) Also, the game is pretty! That's the advantage of using UE4!
Just played and I gotta say: it's not THAT pretty (yet). Unless you have a beast PC. But yeah, it's day 1 of early access, there will probably be a lot of optimization happening during the next few months.
What FPS were you getting? I noticed the graphics in your rear view mirror popping out (grandstands vanishing leaving flags hovering in the air), road surface turning white etc. Was this because of your graphics settings or just the state of the early access? Many are concerned with the Unreal4 engine's power needs, which will be massive in VR. Thanks for the review Jimmy!
well, im on a gtx 660 and I can play on medium to high settings, but then it just looks like ac. only if you put the settings to very high it will actually look better, but then the performance will suffer a lot. and for now I personally find the force feedback to not be on par with ac. at least on a non-direct drive wheel. It feels somewhat disconnected. almost like there is to much smoothing or so.
I have an overclocked 960 and with everything in low, no antialiasing, 1080p and only effects on high, since a lower setting won't show rain effects, I can't reach constant 60fps. If I turn on vsync, stuttering, If I turn it off or use adaptive sync, considerable amount of tearing. Framerate in replay is madness, 60 to 30 all the time (without the vsync it acts like it had it framerate wise, horrible). I didn't even bother trying with multiple AI's...
Looks pretty good for an early access version. I just see myself getting bored with only GT3. I can see enjoying it for a season, but I don't really see myself doing more after that. It'll really depend on how good the online structure is. It needs to have a solid and fair penalty system (something no sim has really gotten right yet) and do a good job with match-making. Nothing worse than always getting placed in a grid with 15 guys around my speed and 5 aliens that none of us will ever catch.
Hi Jimmy, great stuff. Did you start with the safe setup here without modifications? I noticed that your fuel is not decreasing, it stays at 60 liters. Thank you for your feedback.
Can only hope this comes to Xbox One at some point in the future? Before anyone starts, I know a PC is always the best system to use for the most realistic experience to add to that mod capability etc but my Xbox was considerably cheaper than what a high spec gaming PC would cost. Plus I take my racing games seriously using a Thrustmaster TX, T3PA pedals etc. And have played racing games since age 3. But gaming pc isn't an affordable option at the moment

I'm gonna wait for the multiplayer. But Oh my god doesn't it look so good!
HUGE LIKE FOR THAT OUTRO...
My 1080TI is begging to run this game. Just have to wait till payday. I'm tapped right now. Helped my best friend buy a motorcycle, but it was money well spent to see him this happy. Patience Mark...
i've been playing for ACC for the past hour and i think it feels pretty good, like you i haven't dialled in any settings or anything. i'm actually really enjoying the GT3 class, perhaps just because i love them in real life:) High hopes for this game!
Hecking yeah, I love GT racing. Can't wait for this game!
Well Jimmer you've gone and done it. You've made me buy Project Cars 2 and an XBOX controller( yes yes, not a sim type pleb tier game and setup. I know)
But ive been having a blast hotlapping Spielberg circuit in a Formula 1 car.
I am still utterly terrible but I will improve quickly I feel like
Loving the videos as usual Jimmy!
I'm Hyped for it! will try it tonight! I'm in for something a little bit more casual than Iracing
Our BUDDY who was chilling against the wall was slowly moving each lap, and on the final lap....HE WAS GONE!!!
Don't forget to "Find your strenght".
The game looks incredible! Let's hope it gets even better with development
Keep on racing, the only thing im good at 😜
Great content Jimmy, ACC has loads of promise but I guess we will have to wait and see.
You said you'd never think you'd drive an actual GT3. Ohh past Jimmy lol
Some of the most fun I had in AC was downloading a big fan made track and taking a non-race car for a drive. As such this new direction doesn't do it for me. It was great way to de-stress.
There is even the sound of the gearbox compressor while up or down shifting
Been waiting for this all day since im limited to being a console pleb and cant bloody play it.
wooot wooot all aboard!! lol - quick question: what headset is that? looks awesome and sounds great :D
This car handles well.as you can feel the tires grip or not compared to most cars in AC but that could be my system and old G27. I am not too sold on the controls and mapping but I will get used to it. Nice overview and quick intro Jimmy...
It's fun to notice Jimmy's hair getting progressively messier throughout the video.
Purchased at work... can. not. wait. to. get. home! ahh
You need to always have your left foot on the clutch, and right foot on the brakes and gas... That's a good practice even though your just playing a game...
I literally only play AC for drifting and Street cars glad to see I can save some money
Looking forward to this!
the AI didnt look too bad, reasonably well behaved.
need to see a bit more tho, as you said man, very promising.
How is this guy not a professional race commentator for a large network? :D
"I don't drive those cars, I doubt I ever will"
The best first impression you can get!! :)
You know what? I just can't wait for the new Porsche 911 GT3 R 2019 in this game.
Looks and sounds great!
My only minuscule problem with ACC is the engineers voice sounds sooo bad xD
But yeah as I said,it's a completely minor thing.
Definitely will get this if it comes out for consoles eventually like AC did.
One question, you said the handling is different than AC's,but is it harder or...?
Because I'm a controller scrub and while AC on a controller is perfectly playable...
I just want mods so I can replace Generic Race Engineer with Samir's co-driver
LISTENNNN TO ME SAMIR
I don't even play iRacing but I wanna hear Australian guy. "You just got the white flag that means one more lap to go"
The thing about the engineer is really minor, since there will probably be an ACC version of Crew Chief at some point.
@@sandwich3558 YOU ARE BREAKING THE CAR
Ai has some magic anti-hit barrier around the players car. They wont overtake outside, they are just driving the ai lane. Also on your own video it shows some nice magic move 6:52
Since the early access $24.99 price is going on until the end of October to early November, very likely I will get this for my birthday in three weeks ;)
Also, the game is pretty! That's the advantage of using UE4!
Remember to get it before the price rises with the second early access
That's my plan
Just played and I gotta say: it's not THAT pretty (yet). Unless you have a beast PC. But yeah, it's day 1 of early access, there will probably be a lot of optimization happening during the next few months.
I see that birb in the outro :eyes:
What FPS were you getting?
I noticed the graphics in your rear view mirror popping out (grandstands vanishing leaving flags hovering in the air), road surface turning white etc.
Was this because of your graphics settings or just the state of the early access?
Many are concerned with the Unreal4 engine's power needs, which will be massive in VR.
Thanks for the review Jimmy!
Jimmy, every event you do is a "special" event
I am definitely buying it!
10:56 dreams do come true
that white pipe by the your left temple looks dangerous
I thought the unreal engine would destroy this sim with over bright lighting effects and and poor performance; but this sim really looks good
On lower end cards, 580, 1050ti, 1060 you basically have to play on low if you want 60fps during a race. Meanwhile you can use high on hotlap
well, im on a gtx 660 and I can play on medium to high settings, but then it just looks like ac. only if you put the settings to very high it will actually look better, but then the performance will suffer a lot. and for now I personally find the force feedback to not be on par with ac. at least on a non-direct drive wheel.
I will definitely use the helmet cam because I can use my headtracking setup!
Ir tracking not supported yet
Dang it. I'll have to wait, then
This game looks amazing
I can't wait for the Emil Frey jaguar
Alex Schmidt it’s coming out in one of the pre release builds. I’m so fucking hyped
We really need a officially licensed f1 game from kunos I hope they can get it in the future some how
I think it will have RTX support, so the Richbois can have the great looking sun light and shadows.
The rating system looks promising so far, there's a ton of stuff being taken into account. I just hope the penalty system will be alright.
I've bought it because it's 50% of full price. Probably won't install it until the Bentley comes out next month though.
I think they got the pace of time in race down. This looks like real racing actually
Hi Jimmy, great stuff.
Did you start with the safe setup here without modifications?
I noticed that your fuel is not decreasing, it stays at 60 liters.
Thank you for your feedback.
No shadows in the Mirror? What a bunch of Spooky bois...
JIMMY DA GOAT
Jesus that sun glare on the first straight is blinding!! Hope that can be reduced or turned off altogether.
REASLISM
Can only hope this comes to Xbox One at some point in the future? Before anyone starts, I know a PC is always the best system to use for the most realistic experience to add to that mod capability etc but my Xbox was considerably cheaper than what a high spec gaming PC would cost. Plus I take my racing games seriously using a Thrustmaster TX, T3PA pedals etc. And have played racing games since age 3. But gaming pc isn't an affordable option at the moment
