@@abigailperez3753 yes you can. You can either do a play all function from a folder, or download a free video editing software and stitch them together manually.
Some viewers may not be aware that there is a device available that lets you play a video on a USB to a TV and it doesn’t matter what format the USB is. The small device “Philips HD Media Player” connects to the TV with a cable, insert the USB into the device and it will play videos or photos in any format.

I'd like to add that USB playback supports usually work with the current smart tv's but you should also check the codecs that the tv supports. It varies from brand to brand. Been using this trick with an external hard drive for a while now.

This is superb for ordinary people whose TV has a USB A input and even shows the process. This means that a pre-made MP4 USB compilation should play immediately. For those wanting to make USBs of favorite things this gentleman explains by showing. That is the best way. Mac can be a bit picky and Windows 11 less straightforward than 10 with its old MediaPlayer. A failsafe all codecs free program/app is VLC, which works on Windows, Mac and Linux and MP4 is the format for picture and sound. Some TVs do not have USB A but have HDMI instead. A cable able to accept the plain USB A thumb drive female at one end and has HDMI male at the other should be recognized by the TV somewhere in the Menu. TAKE CARE TO AVOID A CABLE WHICH IS FOR CHARGING ONLY because it will not carry data. Some devices have corrective circuitry boxes on them and seldom exceed $50. Tutorials showing only USB C/Thunderbolt might be okay for the latest equipment but forget the obvious fact that stored movies and/or TVs are usually a good few years old. This tutorial it outstanding because it does not make that error and enunciation, speed and clarity are top quality. Thank you.

most tv reads ms dos fat32. also, ensure the video files formats are supported. I find some files need conversion first to work. Google for ZillaTube, it helps
@Rotate Earth Video uhhh... no this is not true. FAT32 has a 4gb limit PER FILE not for the entire drive. A FAT32 formatted drive can actually hold up to 2tb of data. Even w/ the 4gb limit per file there are ways around this like compression and by splitting larger files into parts. So unless you are dealing with RAW data files which a smart tv can't even recognize anyways you shouldn't have a problem fitting video/audio onto it as most are under 4gb.
Do the folders need to be named DCIM and 100MOVIES respectively? or can you name them whatever you want provided you named the video file as MVI_etc. etc.?

I've watched or tried to watch movies from a USB flash drive directly plugged into the USB port of the TV. The problem is not all video files are recognized and the system skips over to the next recognized file. Are you saying that if I made a folder titled DCMI and then a subfolder titled 100MEDIA the TV will recognize all media files? I have Windows, not a Mac.

How can you get the videos to play in the order you want them to? Start with video 1 and play to video 8 with out stopping unless you pause it on Smart TV from your USB flash drive?
FWIW ... our non smart 32" Insignia LED TV (purchased 2017) does have a USB port, but the internal access is identified as "USB (photos)" when the USB key is plugged in. When I follow the steps in Komos' UA-cam video, I can only see the jpg photos (whether or not the folders and files are renamed as per the instructions) and none of the mp4 files .... what might work is if I install a firestick that maybe could then access the contents on the USB key and use a free app like VLC to browse the USB port and play the videos, but I don't have a firestick yet.
So I got a flash drive n uploaded cartoons from my laptop but I found out only few are playing other are canceled and at 00:00:00 I don't know why, I got another flash connected t my phone and moved all the cartoon I have on my phone to the flash but this time around it no one plays at all what could be the issue

Exactly. Some USB ports on tv's only support Photos and Music, But Not Videos. So, Regardless what format the video is, The TV will still NOT support it.

I want to the the animated show Star Wars: The Clone Wars (the entire series) onto a flash drive from my friends PC, so i can watch it on my TV. I am not sure how large the file would be for a entire show, but i was going to purchase a 1TB 3.0 (or higher) flash drive for this, i am guessing that is enough? I really don't know how big files are for a show, or just one movie for that matter. Is 1TB way too much for a series? Would 512mb be enough? Second, when you are watching a movie or a bunch of episodes from a series, does the flash drives usually overheat? I am very new to doing this. Komoso Tech does it matter how the drive is formatted? I have a drive that would simply not work on the TV. I’ve changed the formatting over and over. Please help. Thanks
most TV reads MS DOS formatted drives. also, ensure the video files formats are supported. I find some files need conversion first to work. Google for ZillaTube, it helps

I can’t figure out how to use the USB on my TV. There doesn’t seem to be an input option for it when I go to manually change the input, and of course it doesn’t pop up like it did on yours.
My USB port on my TV says “service port” by it.
How do u know which video format is needed? I tend to use mp4 and it works for some but not others

Thank you! Your way looks much MUCH easier than formatting the Flash Drive with MS DOS ExFAT to record hours-long wedding videos. That is what I was advised to do on an Apple Community Forum (it never worked for me):

FAT32 does not allow for files larger than 4GB.
You may format the drive as ExFAT if you need larger files.
You can do File->Share->Master File and choose Computer, H264 as the codec and save wherever you like.

It is working perfectly but how did you get the movie on the screen at 2:23? How did you get a movie there? Did you download it?
