How is it manipulative to hit on someone? This is why men are so outlasted these days and lonely. People make it so its not okay to approach woman... ever. Anywhere. I'm not saying it's appropriate on the job, but manipulative? How? 5:28 - This part here is unintentionally very powerful for me. There are so many people I regret doing things to when I was younger, even if it's something small, that they probably don't even remember. To think that you held onto that regret for over a decade, only to have him not even remember that it happened, and even joking about him probably deserving it, really reassured me.
The mom Uber story just goes to show you never know what someone is going through and it’s nice to be nice to people and you never know who you are being a blessing to
Sounds like terminal cancer to me. When it's cardiac, renal, or respiratory in nature, they usually get an ambulance ride to the ER first. When it's terminal cancer, they have time to set an appointment to enter inpatient hospice care.
@@stevennguyen4993- This makes sense. When he was talking about this I kept thinking, How is someone that is still able to get around with no assistance and cognitively coherent enough to navigate a situation like this going to hospice care? But that makes perfect sense. And that's great that he was able to make one of her last memories and enjoyable one. It also is a good feeling to have compassion for another person.
Sucks that someone ruined your 5 star rating, I've seen a lot of older people who just don't understand how ratings work. They think 5 stars is only for "going above and beyond" and 3 stars is the standard "good" rating, but that's pretty much never how a 5 star rating system has worked so idk where they get that idea from. I've had to get atleast a dozen ratings removed on Doordash, I've had people tell me they're gonna give a 1 star because the restaurant was out of something they ordered 😑 like how dumb do you have to be to think it works like that?
luckily, uber is aware of this and actually doesn't count anyone who consistently give fewer than 5 stars which i think is pretty clever. but yeah the new idea of star ratings is bizarre, where anything less than 4.5 is essentially "you're getting banned"
As a young dude, there is rarely a reason to give someone a 5-star. A 4-star is a good score. A 5-star is only for those infrequent good drivers. A 3-star means that the drive was smooth enough, but not one I would repeat, which is fine to me if people believed that to be the case.
This is frankly an issue with the system rather than users. In my country 5 for perfection/above and beyond, 4 for good and 3 for adequate is quite normal. If 5 is the norm there's no way to distinguish between "good" and "exceptional". That might not be the standard in the US, but since Uber, like taxis, is frequently used by tourists they really should improve that system to either be more explicit or have some other way of indicating "exceptional" service. The latter is IMO preferable since it means no one has a "perfect" score, and so a single 'bad' review isn't that significant
Just give 5 stars ffs, only bitches give less than 5, its the least you can do for a service they provide. If it wasn't for uber you need to catch a taxi which would cost quite a bit more.
@@josephdahdouh2725yeah man please stop using rideshare services if you feel this way. You're hurting people working an honest job much more than you think. Everyone would be getting banned from Lyft/Uber if everyone had the same mindset like you.

On his last day, a coworker of mine at my old job was dealing with some pretty serious stuff mentally. No idea what was going on, even to this day, but, being the mischievous person I am, I decided to do a little prank to try and make him feel better. We were cool and matched each other’s weird energy, so I figured it would help. A classic of mine was to take a pickle chip or piece of cheese or something, put it on someone’s shoulder, and see how long it’d take for them to walk around with it before realizing it was there. Well, I did and he went his entire shift, talking to customers, taking orders, etc. before noticing it. He clocked out and left without a word. I felt absolutely terrible, typically people would “attack” me or get me back, but he just silently left so I figured I had just become his 13th reason. Well, a few months later he and another coworker roll up as I’m walking home and ask if I need a ride. I saw him in the passenger seat and felt so bad that I declined, but they insisted so I took it. I apologized to him and asked if he was okay and how he’d been doing since. He was confused and said “No, it actually made me feel better. That was one of the few things that got me through that day. You were one of the only people at that job that kept me sane”. He ended up apologizing to _me_ for worrying me and leaving without saying goodbye, but he was just going through a lot. Unbeknownst to me, I had been kicking myself for helping him. Strange how life works.

I can just tell from this video, you are the type of person with the perfect disposition to be an Uber driver or to work a job that deals with a lot of people. You’re soft spoken, caring but not overly emotionally invested, very considerate of your passengers needs driven by your admittance of likening the compliments and such they give you, which is a healthy outlook on social interactions under this type of working condition. You seem very logical and straightforward about your outlook on things. Whilst maintaining an at ease manner and being genuinely funny. That’s really awesome. You’d serve well as a nurse, even better as a doctor I think. Or any other job that is logically based and consists of short term social interactions with a variety of people. Nothing too long term one on one (like social worker, therapist, etc). I think it would burn you out after some time. Other good fits would be working in the loan approval area of a bank, taxes, finances in general, etc. I think teaching would be cool but it would have a longer social interaction period and have to deal with parents. I know you didn’t ask for a career analysis based on your personality lol. Sorry for giving one unasked. I just noticed while watching this that it’s easy to get a good understanding of who you are as a person based on your interactions with these other people and I thought that was interesting. Thanks for the cool video! This was a fun ride. Pun intended.
Amazing comment. You’re so perceptive! my favorite people have and utilize both logic and compassion, which both the creator and you yourself display in abundance! Only good vibes. 😊💙
You have a relatively short timeframe to tip after the ride is over, with how he exited the ride I doubt he was conscious enough to tip. Or he could’ve been legit broke and this was his only chance to get to the hospital. I feel like this is likely the most reasonable circumstances for someone ending up not tipping lol
I did the same kind of thing for my shyness, I got a job waiting on people so I was forced to practice interacting. It is common for young adults to go through this, but at the time I did not realize it. I did get over it as I got older. It helped when I found out I was not the only shy person, a lot of people feel that way. You faced your fear successfully and you will be great.
This is what I’m doing, I’m shy and also autistic but I recently started working my first retail job. It’s nerve wracking to talk to people all day but it forces you to get a little more used to it

Theres so much more to the story.

Once in a while I meet someone who’s acting insane but it’s only because they are a product of their environment. Keep trucking!!
I think I also have high-functioning autism or was just on the computer too much as a kid and bartending for almost 4 years has done wonders for me as well. I try and push my peers with social anxiety into the industry even part time for a year as therapy. Cheers !
People would rather make excuses than be like you and flex their speaking muscles. It's as normal for humans as walking or crapping but somehow we've forgot that
Very common. There's so many people that should have medical transport but people and medical facilities use uber instead. Some of them and insurance agencies have contracts with uber for non-emergency transportation... hospice would be non-emergency... it's unreal
This just happened for my family. My aunt, grandmother and myself taking ubers left and right to take my mother to hospice/hospital/hospice/hospital, going to funeral home afterwards, going to the burial location, It's modern era right now. Uber everywhere.
The fact that u did all that to give them their tickets back is amazing, NO ONE else would go through all that. Ur awesome for that & they definitely should’ve tipped u more. The dude who fell out the car at the hospital, hopefully he was ok.. the doctors lack of urgency is fucked up.
The man might not have a lot of money and probably spent more than usual in his budget for the tickets and food. $15 is a good tip anyway. There are a lot of people that are lower income and to them that was a lot.
I am so happy to come across your video about your experience as an Uber driver. Maybe this will stroke your ego even more when I tell you that you are very eloquent, sincere, and downright funny. You tell your story with so much gusto, and you turn the negative experiences as being part of the job and not some breaking point. Thank you again for making me smile on this day.

I suffer from anxiety that it affects me so much I sometimes take a couple of days to leave the house. Well done you inspired me to look into new ways toovercome it.
Dude I'm so glad you touched on the fact that it helped break some of your anxiety, I was very anxious coming out of highschool and had some experience working as a cashier which really does nothing because you aren't really engaging with strangers. It wasn't until I worked in a sales position (Automotive for those curious) that I really had to face my anxiety, it was as terrible as you think sales in general I do NOT recommend however it did leave a pretty powerful impact on me as far as how I manage my anxiety and just how insightful it is. Like you have to have extremely sensitive and intimate conversations about people's financial status and you have to do that and establish a relationship with these people very quickly. For me at least it really gave me a lot more empathy for my fellow humans

As a European this looks really strange to me. We absolutely have to wear our seatbelts, we will get a fine if our passengers are not wearing theirs, and the fines are really high. Even in a taxi or Uber etc. without everyone having their seatbelts on the cars driver just doesn't drive away.
Your nostalgia moment at the end, when you said that making the video made you think about driving Uber again, is so relatable. I had newspaper routes a few times, and every spring have a moment of wanting to get a paper route just because driving around in the middle of the night by myself listening to Coast to Coast was so fun. But then I'd remember the terrible sleep schedule, and the every night nature of the job, and of course the terrible pay. LOL Thanks for the fun video :)

The part about people complimenting you a lot was very relatable to me. I rode with one guy who had like 53k trips, so I KNEW...THIS... MAN... this is the man I needed to ask about ride share services... he said that he had done pretty much all of them and Uber was by far the best of them all (at least in the Metro Detriot area). Any food delivery app is less than the ride share apps, and as a doordash driver i concour with his assessment.
@franktoadsly4866 yeah it really is very different between areas even in your local area. I know when I do doordash I can usually make almost x2 as much driving 2 miles into a better zone. My area never tips but if I drive to the next zone over I make the same base pay but almost equal amount in tips so I end up making WAY more by driving a little further from home.
That guy didnt tip you because he was either dead, unconscious, or eorried about life and death things. I think you can forgive him for not remembering to tip you, when he literally fell out of your car, unconscious?

I do AirBnB. I had one gal that loved us so much she stayed with us twice. But she gave us four stars both times. When I asked her what was wrong she said "absolutely nothing but I reserve five star reviews for glorious airbnb's with Grand chandeliers, mountain views and streams next to them"
Lady you booked a $80.00 AirBnB!!!
That’s infuriating lol the review is for the product itself not for all Airbnb’s in general smh
People literally have no sense.
I have a $32 but have learned to review Airbnb's five star review system with guests, many of which are first time Sirbnb guests ( lots of those in this area where the minimum nightly rate is usually $120)
Get some mountains and streams installed, duuuyhh 😅🫢
Same when I owned a catering business. One guy said he really never gives out 5 stars
thank you for realizing that no matter how attracted you are to a passenger you do NOT fucking hit on them. it is so incredibly uncomfortable & manipulative. i had a friend who had to sit in a car for 15 minutes listening to her driver talk about how sexy her body was after she already declined him. that shit is so beyond weird. stop hitting on people at work😭
How is it manipulative to hit on someone? This is why men are so outlasted these days and lonely. People make it so its not okay to approach woman... ever. Anywhere. I'm not saying it's appropriate on the job, but manipulative? How? I'd love to hear how uber drivers have such a power imbalance over people that they're literally hanging a tip over their head if they behave and can get out the car.
Oh my gosh that sounds so terrible uber literally does no background checks who knows who you’re getting in the car with
@@shaysempiremain yes they do. To become a driver you must go through a bunch of background checks. I was denied because of my record and it's not even violent. If you mean for the customer, what sense would that make for people to submit to a background check just to use a ride sharing service. And the time it owuld take plus the judging what kind of crimes affect you vs what doesn't for every single rider is absolutely rediculous
@ no they don’t I’ve done uber on multiple accounts never got a background check , nd maybe they should background check passenger ion want no weirdos getting in my car either

What’s also peculiar is that we did or said something we forgot about, yet other people were hurt by it for years 😮. That sucks 😢

Nah not tipping the guy who drove you to the hospital is insane 💀
well he might have died too lol
He might have left a tip in his will
You have a relatively short timeframe to tip after the ride is over, with how he exited the ride I doubt he was conscious enough to tip. Or he could’ve been legit broke and this was his only chance to get to the hospital.
I feel like this is likely the most reasonable circumstances for someone ending up not tipping lol
can you retrospectively tip a few days later? it probably wasn't possible to tip him in the moment since he was unconscious or barely conscious
Not tipping in general is insane.

You are a great communicator. Great info and stories. Thanks.
You seem like you could be anybody's best friend. Super chill guy! Great video
You are an incredibly good person. Rule #1 you have to set rules, boundaries and limitations. Rule #2 if unsure..refer to rule #1. You have a great voice and your content is actually quite entertaining. I would venture a guess there is never a dull moment with you.. 😂. Binge watching your channel.. you have a new sub.
Ive done 40000+ rides, it never get old. Ive only kicked out 1 person. You have to have high tolerance for other people.
40k is INSANE.
I really loved listening to your stories. I have adhd, but the whole video fully captured my focus
I'm so glad this popped up in my feed! I'm subscribed to your channel from way back, and youtube stopped showing them to me for some reason. I'm happy to see you are doing well, keep up the good work.
I NEEDDDDDDDD I BEGGGG for more of these videos!!! It would be an amazing seriesssss but your mental health is obviously also very important! Good video!
hilariously, i initially stopped saving trips on dashcam because most viewers at the time really disliked the uber series. i really enjoyed doing it at the time, so i'm glad people will happily watch more if i start it back up
I need that Uber content, pleeeaaassseee 🙏🏾
I'd watch that too.
@GoHerping bruh this shits fire. But it's more ya personality and story telling to the videos
i also was able to get over some of my social anxiety with my job, too. its so nice to actually be forced to interact with people, i guess ? gradually i learnt to love people asking questions about my job and then seeing regulars annually was always so nice.
loved to hear your stories.
Dude, the fact that people who work at hospitals aren't willing to give assistance to people when there is someone who literally fell out of a car unconscious is so American healthcare
And I don't literally mean everybody. Just more often than not
I had to restart this so I could see the second riders again. God bless you man ❤😂
Thanks for telling us your experiences, your stories confirmed what I expected. Most people are wonderful, some are trouble and or needing helpful support and attention.
I remember watching your content back when you had reptiles, it's amazing to see how you've changed and what you're up to now. Thank you for always sharing with us. ☺️
Dawg.... uber is wild at all times. It doesn't matter if it's the bar crowd or day time. It's wild for different reasons.
indeed. the calmest time i found was around 5am to 9am weekdays. just people all sleepy, going to work. but no tips and traffic was a pain
"Do you remember what I did to you?" I would've thought bro was about to try to kidnap me.
really, really good story teller, was captivated the whole time! keep it up my guy
I loved this video so much! Thanks for sharing your experience and I’m happy you were able to build up your confidence for social interactions!
I guess it depends where you are. By me rideshare is almost completely dead and delivery is kicking.
My uncle did uber in Metro Detroit and he did pretty well on it. Between college towns and the Detroit airport, he rarely had a slow night
Alex, thanks for sharing your entertaining Uber experiences.
Dude idc what videos you make I'll watch the tea every time.
You absolutely ARE a wonderful person, hence the amount of subs...wish I had friends like you growing up!!
That guy didnt tip you because he was either dead, unconscious, or eorried about life and death things.
I think you can forgive him for not remembering to tip you, when he literally fell out of your car, unconscious?
