@DavidBeebee asked me this morning about the @sireguitars S3 and how it compares to the S7. To be honest, it's got the same great playability, and feels pretty much like the same guitar but with slightly different specifications. And here's the thing - if there was one part of either guitar you were likely to upgrade - it'd be the Pickups right? Aside from that, I prefer the Rosewood board, and the non-locking tuners are also super stable....

Hmm - as someone who prefers Rosewood - I think I prefer the S3 spec - what do you reckon? Also feel free to comment any other great options at this price range?
I really like the roasted maple necks. But rosewood is nice, too.
Is the fretboard rounded off on the edges with the lower tier as well?
Thanks for all you do man, I hope your channel keeps growing. You're really one of the better improvisation artists in the world right now.
There are tons of shredders that may play faster than you, but very few people can improvise so well. Very, very few. It's almost an entirely different skill set.
Goals!
Same price as the HSS Squier CV . How would they compare ?
$399 for a guitar armed with rosewood is so cheap nowadays considering rosewood is hard to procure for manufacturers
I bought the Sire S3 love this guitar.
Given that I got my S7 on a cyber deal for 350 euros... there is nothing to compare. Simply better. Just the locking tuners and the frets. Much more tuning stability and duration, You can also make the same argument for the roasted wood, which will probably be much more consistent going from a region to another,. But hey, great to hear they have more options for us!
I have a t7. It needed a new nut mine was chipped at the bottom which allowed the high e to slip out of the nut. New nut and professional setup and it plays as good as any fender.
I got my S7 vintage after watching your videos multiple times. I am in love with it. The biggest hurdle was learning to play an s type guitar. I am excited to see the S3 still though!
Side note, would love to see you do a video with the guys from andertons.
Most maple necks have been roasted since the 1980s. The difference is whether they are roasted more slowly, which preserves the light wood coloration, or quick roasted at higher temperatures, which gives the wood a “burned” darker look. The dark roasted necks are actually cheaper to produce because it roughly triples the production per roasting kiln.
👀
I might have been one of the first to purchase the S3 from Thomann (black version). I confirm, it’s a super great sounding guitar!
Thanks
Tried both of them recently on the local guitar shop. I have to say, S3 is a really really nice guitar, especially for the price. Neck feels great, the pickups do their job, rosewood fingerboard is awesome, the only thing i did not like was the pickup selector switch which looked and felt (and was) cheap. I was ready to pull the plug on it but then I tried the s7. I have a maple neck/fingerborad American 80s strat (since the day i was born , as my father owns it) but I absolutely hate it because of the maple which also made me believe i would prefer the s3 to the s7. Not the case though, don't know why, but from the moment I got my hands on the S7, everything seemed so much better, including the fingerboard. Guitar feels like a 1k instrument for sure, excellent built quality and overall, unbelievable feel and playability for its price. Needless to say, I walked out of the store with the S7. So, both great guitars, both VFM, but the S7 is the bigger steal.
P.S. I also tried the Silver Sky SE, nice guitar too, but i would even prefer the s3 to it any given day.
Do you still like the S7?
@@Eric-dd8bk Yeap. One month after the purchase, I still believe s7 is money well spent, and performs way above its price point. Especially after changing the stock Ernie Ball strings with my preferred Elixir set.
The pickups in the s7 vintage to my understanding have lower output than the regular s7 so i think the s3 just rocks the same pickups as the regular s7. Great review btw ive been waiting for a quality review of this guitar since it was announced
The S3-SNB (HSS) has Standard-ST Pups while the S7-FM (HSS) come with Super-ST and then the S7-VIN (SSS) has Super-V...quite different sounding.
I bought the S7-FM-TBL (make to order) and it's amazing. Listen to these reviews :

Definitely prefer the s3 sound here! Was not tempted when I was them at first but this may change that
I ordered the s3 yesterday and it will be here today already ! watched the sire videos multiple times and I figure its time to check them out my self. Great honest comparison. I always believe your giving your honest opinion and not all do that. Thanks John and congrats on the little one,
Can I ask for an update on it? How do you like it?
@@Eric-dd8bk it’s definitely made of mahogany, very beautiful and a little heavier than my fender. Everything looks very straight. I didn’t have to have the nut slightly cut to change to nines. The E string had a slight sitar sound. Now it is a joy to play and very good looking as I said. I would not hesitate to buy another. In fact, I think I may buy the t3
I really like Sire. They make me feel like I'm a rock god in the studio, cos i can afford to have a selection of them, they are awesome, and they are staggeringly reasonable on the wallet
Thank you for this nice comparison. Now I know which one to choose. For me the important thing is the sound and I like Hot pickups... playability is good on both models. And I prefer the rosewood fretboard... and real nice playing you do there.
I have an S7 and SFM and love them both.
I've bought several Sires now, an acoustic, a hollowbody, a bass, the T7 and I also have the S7, and I can say that all of them have been excellent quality. I bought most of them from companies that obviously don't do any setup at their warehouses and I've never had any major complaints. The only small issues I've had are the frets not being polished perfectly and the nut having slight sharp edges, but nothing that bothered me too much.
They've definitely been far better than some of the squiers or even fenders I've had straight out of the box.
How does the t7 compare to the s7? Torn between the two atm i own both a strat and tele right now so its more if either one has a wow factor so to speak
@@AnDr3vV7 I prefer the S7, although I don't have any other teles to compare the T7 with, whereas I've played several other strats
@@True96red thank you. Being pulled towards the s7 myself even thought it's 100 more expensive atm. Shame I'm a lefty it's next to impossible to try these in person!
You know for the longest time I could not figure out what was different from a Fender. Sometimes just looked off. It's the input jack location.
It just pisses me off! I lvoe the classic jack and it's location yet so many builders doing S type guitars and not including them, it must cost slightly more...
Body cut and contours, body edges , size of upper and lower horns are different, they don’t feel or look the same and when you see this you can’t unsee it.
Not to mention, the Sire headstock looks like Buzz Buzzard
Nice review. I have the Sire H7 and love it. (Bought it based on your review!) But you missed one of the key feature differences between the two models: The S3 has only 2 control knobs - Volume & Tone - whereas the S7 has the traditional 3 knobs. You also didn't mention whether they have 3- or 5-position switches.
Good point about the 3 knobs vs. 2 knobs. But you can see while John is playing that the S3 also has a 5-position pickup switch.
@@jakollee Thanks! I was short on time so I fast-forwarded past his playing to jump right to his monologue! 😆
I have a Sire S7 and I love it. If the headstock said Fender on it the cost would be around $1,000.00.
Great sounding guitars. If I didn't already have 2 strats (Fender and a Squire VM), I'd be ordering that light blue S3.
Mine just arrived today and I couldn’t be happier with it! Completely blew my expectations out of the water. I actually prefer it to the American fenders I’ve had in the past, and at that price it’s just a no brainer. I highly recommend the sire s3. By the way I’m even happy with the pickups I’m not even tempted to change them, maybe the neck pickup if anything.
damn it's a lot bluer and nicer in person than the online listings makes it look
Thanks John. Check out Fret King guitars (Trev Wilkinson brand). They make some interesting models eg a Tele style with a double lipstick neck pickup. They also have a Varicoil Humbucker to Single coil roll off knob below the Tone knob. Interesting stuff there. Cheers.
I have just looked up Fret King guitars as I wasn't aware of them. Looks like they have some great models. Do you own one yourself?
@@koolkutz7 Yes. I picked up the Fret King Country Squire Semi Tone De Luxe 2023 Collection model last year from Reverb. It has a lot of tonal options with the x3 pickups and Varicoill control and a nice fretboard and quality volume/tone knobs. Definitely an option if you are in the market.
Thanks for the info, appreciated 🙂
always like your videos you are very down to earth and also a Great guitar player Thank You
I did hear quite the difference in volume during the demo, so much so that I dare think that the pickups in the S3 are ceramic-powered. Believe it or not, my experience is that cheap ceramic pickups can sound amazingly good, so much as to rival or even beat some Alnico-based pickups. Also, it's possible to get them louder by putting them a little closer to the strings. This is possible because ceramic pickups have a bar magnet located at the bottom of the pickup, with steel slugs conducting magnetic energy upward past the coil and toward the string above. The string winds up getting magnetized by that magnetic energy and produces a magnetic field that extends down through the pickup coil and cuts across it whenever the string moves. Magnetic fields generate electricity when they cut across coils, and in a guitar pickup, this electricity is the signal the pickup is picking up. What's different about this ceramic arrangement and what goes on with
Alnico single coils is that the Alnico pickups have INDIVIDUAL ALNICO MAGNETS in the place of steel slugs. These magnets don't just conduct magnetic energy; they GENERATE it! So, you know how when you get a paper clip or some other magnetic metal object close enough to a magnet and all of a sudden, they're together like lightning! Well, the same thing tries to happen with strings and actual magnets when they get close enough together. That means that a real magnet can make strings move funny AND SOUND funny when the magnet gets too close, which can happen will Alnico pickups. But CERAMIC pickups have their magnets with the entire bulk of the coil between them and the strings. They CAN'T get too close! The slugs only CONDUCT the magnetic energy and it doesn't grab the strings the same way. The strings can vibrate more freely, so as long as the pickups' casings don't hit the strings as they vibrate, the pickups can get as close -- and as loud -- as the player likes. Louder sounds better by itself. Add to that the fact that ceramic pickups can sound fuller and warmer than their Alnico mothers.
The point? Listen with your ears. The right pickup is the one you like for what you're doing right now.
I recently bought a Donner DST-400 that I think is aimed at the same market as the S3. I also got a Harley Benton travel guitar that looks like the outline of a pickguard and which is very affordable. (With the shipping, it wasn't that cheap.) The Donner sports Alnico single coils (and humbucker bridge pickup too, I think, but it's hard to tell), whereas the HB claims only 3 ceramic single coils. I usually don't like single coils as bridge pickups, so I'll probably salvage an old dual-rail single-coil sized humbucker I have sitting around. The remaining single coils sound so good that I'm likely to leave them. Even if I did swap them out, the pickups I'm most likely to swap in look more aggressive but sound similar. Guitar already looks kinda weird, so maybe it doesn't need too much of a cosmetic makeover. It seems that my opinion of these guitars depends on which one I played most recently. It occurs, though, that the HB is louder. Maybe that's why it holds a candle? Either way, I can ROCK at home or away!
For those in the States, the S3 is a mere $399 on Sweetwater, and that's cheap in today's 2022 money.
I just purchased one today from Sweetwater.
@@TheBbtlegit how do you like it? What would you compare it to?
@@oza8578 I love it i played it on a gig last night. I would sort of compare it to a Squire classic vibe. But with more punch.
And in a rare rosewood too! I hope manufacturers follow what sire is doing, this is such a fair price tbh 😱
I had to pay 499.00 for my Lefty S3 from Sire.
I think that roasted became a thing because maple necks became more and more anemic and people love the vintage tint, roasted is also smoother and more stable (if you get it right)
I'm leaning towards the S3...shame it doesn't have the roasted neck. I definitely prefer rosewood or pau ferro fretboards. Not sure if I'll go with the Sire S3 or a Firefly FFST. They are getting pretty good. Roasted maple neck, stainless steel ball end frets, bone nut, locking tuners fretboards are rosewood or maple depending on model, Alnico V pickups and some really nice finishes that are amazing. They are priced between $169 to $259 depending on the model. They sell out very fast though.
The tone differences sounded like the S3 has Ceramic pickups and the S7 has AlNiCo (magnetic slugs any way - most likely AlNico).
Although Ceramics are often associated with Cheapness, they CAN sound great but they will always sound different from Alnicos.
They're usually Hotter too. Hotter of output, not just DC Resistance.
The S3 is gainier, the S7 is cleaner/thinner (in a good way). Better...? It is subjective...
S7 sounds better to my ears
Reducing moisture through the roasting process makes for a truer and more robust neck.
i like the s3..it's sounds to me fuller and warmer!😮
I really like your playing.
S3 looks great
I assume most of those Indonesian guitars are made out of the same factory (Cort maybe)
So whether you go for Sire or Yamaha or another brand it comes done to dimensions and shape etc.
Then how well the guitar was put together on the day and how it feels to the player, if it is a keeper or not
Sire have their own factory as far as I know .
@@daviddalziel884 thanks. I haven’t researched what’s the latest factories in Indonesia.
I remember reading a while ago that Cort and Samick produce the majority of guitars on behalf of brands.
I think cort used to and may still make the PRS SE guitars. This will be to PRS specifications and wants.
Btw I forgot to say, Indonesia making some great guitars today.
For me it is more about the components and how well the guitar has been put together on the day of production.
Great video as always... Now I need Sire to release an H3
Just a theory here, but maybe the Rosewood fretboard is a little more resonant than the maple because it's not slathered in all the lacquer.. 👀 They both sound great however, enjoyed the video : )
Might be a bit late commenting for you to see this, but which is your preferred guitar out of the S3 and the Ibanez AZES I’m in the market for one or the other, would be interested in your take between the two?
I'm curious if this is better than the ibanez AZES? Both are pretty similar price wise....
great video again.i agree if its a good guitar get the s3 and upgrade it with the best you can afford.nice one.cheers
I wouldn’t say the S3 is better, nor would I say the extra 30% isn’t worth it. The roasted maple is a more stable wood, particularly in extreme and/or changing environments (such as what we get in southern Texas). The glossy board is a personal preference and I think they play great and tend to prefer them to drier boards on less expensive rosewood or laurel. Locking tuners, generally better finishing, a better trem, and “upgraded” parts and pups, etc. all justify the price. I think they did a great job creating two different levels, each at great price points. As with any guitar at these prices, QC will vary and so it’s always best to buy something you’ve played, from a place like Sweetwater where your sales agent can actually check the guitar for you, or that you can easily exchange. Bottom line is that it’s hard to go far wrong with either of these, as you’ve demonstrated many times. :)
Alright ! S3 seems to make sense...unless you like to unnecessarily pay more for things.
Great playing and chord changes in the intro tune.
I think you are right about the roasted wood. The inventory of properly dried wood is low and/or too expensive. So they take fresh cut wood and cook the moisture out. I wonder if this means that the non-roasted wood actually has more moisture than it really should.
Awesome playing!
The S7 FM Natural is so beautiful, Im very tempted 👀
John, it fits right in. It's all about speed. In order to make guitars ( or anything) cheaply, one has to make them quickly. Anything that can speed up a process or make it more reliable without slowing it is good. I would imagine that heat-treated woods would be more easily worked with because of their increased stability and resultant decreased movement. The increased brittleness of the wood could be precisely controlled. Consistency would benefit, actual speed might benefit as well. How are so many guitars sporting bullet-ended stainless steel frets for so little money? Someone figured out how to bullet-round pre-cut fret ends in the process of producing a ready-to-play fret that could be machine-inserted into a fretboard. A quick, general, uniform press and all those frets are seated for the life of the guitar. Even the "hand polishing" of the frets, if even touted, will likely consist of people wielding one or even two rotary buffers of one sort or another that will complete the job in very few seconds. It all about speed.
I'm sure that you'd find that it's quicker and more easy to find heat-treated woods of various sorts than it is to find naturally-dried woods. Natural drying takes a LOT of time. Time is money. Want it faster? Cheaper? FORGET nature! Wood's not ready? No problem. COOK IT! It'll be ready THEN, won't it?
Well, yeah, it will, and it might do the trick. I have yet to purchase a guitar with such. But my explanation covers why wood roasting was a specialized process that debuted on higher-end instruments but now is as we see it.
It might be well to think of roasted woods as a sort of synthetic material. They certainly don't become that dry that fast because of anything natural, and I'm told that some heat-treatments include chemical treatments as well. Is the result any less artificial than, say, Richlite -- REALLY? But then, you'd have to say the same about the house you live in, the clothes on your back, and the food you eat (unless you eat it raw). Artificial ain't bad just because it's artificial. And this solution is brilliant. If water in the wood is a problem and baking the wood gets rid of the water, then all you have to do is decide how dry you want to make your wood and how much you want to charge for the process. Get the cost of purchasing this wood lower than that of buying naturally dried wood and you now can serve a market and even drive a segment of it. Sound familiar?😎
I found my top E string (S7) kept snapping after not long at all. It was snapping from the bridge every time so maybe the saddles were slightly sharp. Ending up selling rather than fixing. Has anyone else experienced the same? I’m liking the look of these S3 models though!
I did/do. 🍀🎸🍀
Any idea why the pickup spacing is closer between the bridge and middle but further between the neck and middle on single coil Sires? (At least on the S3s?)
Let me tell all those who didn't know why roasted Neck has advantages over all others necks. Roasted Neck doesn't shrink on case of humidity and changes of rooms temperature. That's why roasted Neck are the best yet if added stainless steel feets with rounded frets ends with not gloss finished neck. Gloss neck finish.👎Roasted..👉👍 Those are the best guitars Neck with specs I've mentioned. If you buy 👉BUY S7. S3 are ok but S7 emperor of necks.👌
Question: what are inherent weakness of dry wood?
From what I can tell, you are comparing a S3-SNB (HSS) to a S7-VIN (SSS / Bridge single P-U slanted) which are two completely different sounding guitars. The S7-VIN was made to sound creamier to give it that vintage sound, hence the VIN for Vintage and is why you have them higher priced. If you want to compare a HSS with a SSS you're going to find it quite different to begin with, but those two models are not exactly comparable from my point of view. BTW I own several guitars including a Fender American Standard Stratocaster HSS Sienna Burst RW (Rosewood) 2008 first edition. When I first heard the Sire S7-FM from watching UA-cam reviews, I was blown away. I shopped for my Sire S-style guitar for a long time, comparing between their models and others before I decided to indulge on the S7-FM-TBL also HSS because although it has crisp sounding pups you can get a creamy sound from the neck yet crisp sound from overall every pup. The S7-SG (HSS) like the S7-FM but without the flamed top would be a better comparison with the S3-SNB...imho... The SSS configuration I believe only comes in the VIN version.
The S3-SNB (HSS) has Standard-ST Pups while the S7-FM (HSS) come with Super-ST and then the S7-VIN (SSS) has Super-V
I was going to cancel my order (make to order) and take the in-stock S-SG Sherwood Green, but after 6 months I received a message that my guitar was ready to ship. I'm glad I got it, it was more affordable when I had ordered than of late, and though I liked the Sherwood Green and it's essentially exactly the same guitar less the flamed top and I would have loved it, I absolutely love the one I got, I can't tell yet though if I prefer my Strat rosewood or the glossy maple. Love em both!
Nice playing a good video nonetheless btw.
Cheers!
Hey Jo! What your gonna do with that gun in your hand? Just wanted to know how you manage the drums in your videos ? They always sound good. Cheers !
I would gladly take the green s7 vintage off your hands ! If you are willing to ship to US
I'm in the US and very few music shops have had these guitars in a while - they're all in back order apparently🤔
If I’d known this model was due out would I have embarked on a HSS upgrade programme for my S7 Vintage 🤔. Do you know what I probably would have as I do like the locking tuners and the 2 tone knobs. Close run thing though.
I like the roasted maple neck on the S7 but I prefer the sound of S3 in this video.
I like your logic and your faith in people. You assume all price differentials are based on cost when much of the difference with most companies are based in margin and the margin can be based on customer perception and a slight increase in material costs. What does this mean….it is higher profit margin.
Is the shaped heel the same on both guitars? I must say this is one rare, quality feature that caught my eye when the first S7 came out.
I have looked at a close up on the pickups on the S3.. The pole pieces do not look like an alnico pickup,, they look like ceramic pickups like the ones on the Ibanez Azes.
I think that's what I meant to say! Would Ceramic typically be hotter?
@@johnnathancordyyea I think ceramic generally hotter.
That intro jam was wonderful. Very Silver-Tongued Devil-esque. Keep up the good work John!
Does the S3 have a split coil humbucker like the S7?
After a small bit of research: Why Roast A Guitar Neck?
So, the obvious question is, why would you ever want to do that to a guitar neck?
Moisture, oils, sugars, and other impurities are removed from the wood during the roasting process. This mimics the natural aging process a guitar goes through over the years. As with vintage aging, roasting improves the tone of the wood.
Are Roasted Guitar Necks More Stable?
Yes, roasting makes the neck more stable, which means it stays in tune better with fewer intonation problems, especially in geographic areas with significant seasonal changes in temperature and humidity.
Yeh - although I have a suspicion that it's also a way for manufacturers to use less mature Maple?
I own a Sire S7 Flamed Maple. Is it reasonable to sell it and buy the S3 ? Feels like the pickups on S3 are much punchier and brighter .
Sire S7/S3 Vs Yamaha Pacifica 612V or below... which one do you like better and why? cheers.
Thanks!!
Fuck dude. That's some jam right there. I got really into it. Great playing, phrasing and intention. That's some good stuff
What about Cort G260CS? Looks like a solid contender.
I really like this T. Do you think this S3 compares to the M MUSI Virgo Classic w/locking tuners?
Where did you get the Vintage in Sherwood Green? I love that look and prefer that setup - but I can only find the regular S7 in green now. This wasn't that long ago, so did I miss the color I want by just a couple months? I just love the look and sound of that one... but don't really want it in tobacco burst, white or black. Oh, the first world problems! :)
Hi, great video comparison! Can you advise me should I purchase the S7 or the S3? The thing is that S7 is at 25% discount, so it cost 480€ while the S3 costs 400€ (southern Europe). I am not much of a guitar player, maybe a "rookie intermediate" 😂 but I play other instruments. That edge point on high E string might cause some problems for me so I would like your opinion on this. I would use guitar for home studio recordings.
Cheers!
Dude where is the s7 selling for that cheap??? I’m in Europe too
@@AaronLyons bam music center slovenia
But why aren`t Sire producing hardtail strats?
Hard tail strats aren't even something Fender produces in great quantity
You can put a removable piece of wood behind the trem block and it becomes a hard tail strat.....why limit your instrument when technically you can have both
I just nought the 7 in green I hope I didnt make a mistake ahhhhhhhhhh
Rather have my G+L Legacy, and looking around for the S500 as well!
Prefer the colour of the S7. Would prefer the S7 it if it had the rosewood board and S3 pups. The S3 pups sounded more warmer to me and not as spikey
The body of the S3 is Mahogany. On the S7 it's Alder. At least the Website says so...
What are youre thought about T7 vs T7
S3 vs AZES 40??
Well you do get a humbucker in the bridge with the s3. Was it punchy?
i wonder if sire uses same pickguard with fender?
Where did you get the Sherwood Green SSS S7? I can only find them in HSS!
They made it for me!
@@johnnathancordy if you ever fancy selling it, let me know. 👍
@johnnathancordy Do you know or remember if the S3 neck also had the rolled fretboard edges like the S7 has by any chance?
What is the weight of the S3? I’ve heard the S3 is a little heavier than the S7. I really the sound AND price of the Sires. LC has a nice set of guitars and even tho I’m primarily a bassist, I would love to have of these babies in my collection.😌🎶👍🏾
Does the S3 have rolled frets like the S7? IS it contoured exactly the same?
I read that the S3 body is made from mahogany....I thought that was really cool, but then when I looked at Yamaha Pacifica specs only one model had a mahogany body....the CHEAPEST ONE !
So now I don't know what to think
😊😊
The S3 sounds so much better than the S7! I can‘t believe it!😅
Maybe a side by side comparison with the AZES?
You didn't mention what the 3rd knob does on the s7?
Does the high E slide off the fretboard?
what is that song? I recognize it, but I can't come up with the name.
I was interested in one of these s3 or s7.I was on bax music site.I had a look at their in house brand Fazley Phynica strat type.Roasted maple neck brilliant playability, locking tuners,Wilkinson bridge tremelo unit.Basswood body great body finish, bone nut..Its sitting here in front of me,all I would do to this is change the pickups. Not a blemish on the guitar.I got it on special from 150gbp to 110gbp.I am sorry Mr Carlton your making too much profit on your axes.
Well, the neck is not roasted, the frets are not stainless steel, are the tuners locking?
Oh and I got my S7 last year this time for €350.
You don't notice tunning stability differences? That cannot be,
if they send one - it might be specially treated?
I bought this one
Weight in details?
Great sparse backing track that really allows us to hear the guitar.
I prefer the more vintage looks/colours of the S3. The glossy fretboard of the S7 is not my cup of tea. In another video the player found some dead spots across the fretboard. You had the same experience or you had a excellent sample? In this pricerange I would look at Cort as well, especially when you like a slightly flatter fretboard radius.
Is it just me? Are we watching a strat side by side with an s3¿
I like the S3 better.
Wrong, roasted maple actually is a process that makes the neck more stable and adds to the expense of the guitar making process.
Your roasted theory if true means they are ripping us off as the manufacturer has a cost savings but sells at a premium.
"gear manufacturer" and "ripping us off" are not an unusual combination
Roasting does not necessarily mean cheaper wood it simply means a shorter drying process which also has a cost
Really prefer the tones of the S7
Pacifica 311h is the Real Thing.
The S3 sounds muddy and warm. The S7 is clear and more pronounce with the note separation. S7 is better to me and it's not even close lol.
Roasted necks sound pretty horribly to me. Very harsh in the highs.
Roasting a neck makes it's tone brighter.. Roasting a neck makes it stiffer, Roasting a neck makes it less susceptible to climate/moisture changes. No bow/back bow, warping dead zones or wolf tones.
Love everything about that guitar except for the ugly headstock, for the price is a steal. Nice review!
You’re tripping! Sire guitars are among the best guitars I’ve owned! And while I’m at it, Fractal Audio kills Helix garbage!!!
