@@coreycongilio yeah this brand really do the extra work for the players 👌 I was blown away the first time I tried one. Has been my number one guitar for function gigs since. I had some issues with tuning stability as well and was fixed by replacing the original 3 springs by 5 thicker springs, adding string guides on the headstock and the nut slots widen a bit like for you. I might have an older version cause I do not have the coil split but do have the treble bleed. Maybe they changed these at some point. Amazing video as usual thanks for the great content!
Watched your video and immediately went to Sweetwater and picked up the vintage sunburst s7 , must say you make it sound alot better than myself but very inspiring. Big thanks
I love mine. It’s the guitar I still always grab to play to this day. I’ve had it for almost a year now. That edgeless fretboard curve is so comfortable and smooth that it’s still a joy to play every time. I also did have to slightly cut the nut, but a very small fix for such a big quality instrument
I own one and play it in church. Couldn't ask for a better guitar. It has the tones that flow in place. I have a few guitars, just like any other player and really love that guitar for the church band
I had my heart set on a Fender Pro II Strat in Miami Blue but was also side eyeing a S7. I couldn't justify almost $2k for a guitar that wasn't worth it so went for the Sire S7 FM Blue. Glad I made that choice. The savings also allowed me to get an amp I've been wanting for 7 years, a Roland JC40. Super happy all the way around with BOTH! My Sire arrived in PERFECT condition from Sweetwater and it was a demo!
Ordered that exact Fender guitar, I'm sending it back i haven't even plugged it in. I'm disappointed by how average it felt. I'm keeping my Jet JS400 maybe I'll get an used vintera or try a Sire S7
Corey, you nailed this demo (as usual). I appreciate that fact that you took the time to go through all of the things that you thought were good and not so good. You are one of my favorite people to demo guitar and the sort. I like the idea the you get to the point. Your guitar classes are really on point to. Your patience is really good too in your teachings. Again. Thank You! and Keep up the good work.
So, if you change the volume potentiometer and buy a bag, there are basically zero cons… for just 700 bucks. That is seriously impressive! 😳 Excellent playing and great setup! 👍
It's not the volume pot itself, but the volume circuit. He mentions that it needs a treble bleed circuit, which allows treble frequencies to pass ("bleed") through even when turning down the volume pot. Without it, treble gets turned down more than lower frequencies. It's just a capacitor and a resistor, costs maybe a buck, and anyone handy with a soldering iron can do it.
I own an S7 and an L7 and have been playing them for over a year. Feedback: the L7 is a total monster and is one of my gig guitars wherever we play. Only mod was a coil split for the neck HB, which made it super versatile. The S7 is a great value for the $. I found the bridge HB in it very thin (maybe good for jazz) but I upgraded it to a SD Pearly Gates and now it can cover any rock cover tune we play. Incredible bargain for under $700, and yes should come with a gig bag. If you handed either to me, asked me to review them and I did not know the price, I would have guessed around the $1000 mark.
There is nothing to fault with the Sire range. There price point is insane for the build quality, finish and tone. H7 and S7 are game changers that Epiphone and Squire options have failed to deliver with for years. Nothing worse than buying a new guitar from a company with history and you have to take it to a shop to have build issues fixed inorder to have it properly set up. Sire has seen this gap in the market and kicked the door down with their superb product that delivers out of the box and would not look out of place at any gig. Well done Sire, all the success in the world to you.
Agreed. Sire is simply a quality instrument at an affordable price. I have to add that I played my share of Suhr Strats (and other expensive brands) which supplied great and balanced tones but most were consistent with the same quality control issues....fret issues, nut issues. This the issue for a Strat that is north of $2500, and really my biggest issue for any bolt-on neck Tele or Strat-style guitar at price points far higher than what was a huge advantage for that type of guitar.......the fact that the selling point was simple design equates to affordability. I have issue swith Tele/Strat models that cost more than a Gibson 335. I guess I shouldn't mention the cost of a PRS without the possibility of having a stroke.
Really nice demo Corey. I always like your playing style, which demos the guitar perfectly. The Sire is a great gigging guitar at that price, and most guitars benefit from a treble bleed and a well filed nut.
The HSS strat is, imo, the most versatile guitar. My #1 guitar for many years now has been a highly modified 2010 American Deluxe strat. It's an absolute work horse.
I've seen guitar reviews where the only thing they've shown me is the thing actually works. So I appreciate you taking the time and trouble to properly evaluate this instrument, I'm always especially interested in your opinion. Good work.
Not good, do not buy them. My story. Beginning of September I purchased one from Thomann SIRE S7 HSS. To my dismay the action was nearly half inch high, electrical configuration was a disaster both dials stop at 5 not 10 dull sound from G string on fret one and two. So sent it back and they sent me back same guitar action dropped perfectly but dials still messed up , quiet frankly they are a heap of shit. It’s also a 50/50 of getting a perfect guitar online so my advice is. No matter how far away you are before you purchase online to go to a store and play them and deposit on the guitar you want to buy or just buy it there . Because if you have to send it back for the second time your faith is gone on the guitar you have never even played yet. Now I go for refund and never buy a Sire ever again . Absolutely the crappiest guitar I bought and anyone on UA-cam telling me that they got no discount or a free guitar perfectly designed and checked before they put it on UA-cam are joking me. The time I spent 6 weeks total to send it back and now I send back this heap of crap also and refund my money and now I travel over 300km to try other guitars like fender Strat MN for and extra 280€ What a disaster of 6 weeks and now another month of travelling to find a left hand that I can play and feel good about when I play it. Please and I say please again do not purchase from anywhere online, go to the store and purchase it there.
Very articulate, thorough and honest review. What I particularly liked was that you went through the entire pickup selector positions to demonstrate the sonic pallete that Strats are known for. The tonal variations came through nice and clear! Thank you!
I bought the Sire LP style guitar and I couldn't be happier. I ride the volume knob constantly and it works perfectly with the treble bleed caps. Nut was cut perfectly as is the fret work. I ordered through Thomann for $500. Insane deal.
I just wanted to say Thank you for everything I'm learning from you. I'm not just talking about tone, guitars, music, ecc.... The rhythm in your way to speak and explain things. A True font of inspiration and a Real teacher. Grazie Corey!
I have the first series S7 FM and it shines in every way. Mine came with a treble bleed circuit inside. It changes the sound a bit in a more hifi way. The first series didn't have the coil split option but I don't care. It's a workhorse which gets the job done. Great review!
Bought an S7FM a month ago, an I love it. Sounds great, the best neck on any guitar I've played in 55 yrs. Tho I think the guy that works at the nut station needs to pay more attention to what he's doing. I replaced the nut on mine. All the slots were cut way too deep. The E, B and G strings buzzed out and it wouldn't stay in tune even with a 10-46 string change and lubrication. A simple a cheap fix.👍 Thanks Corey for great channel content 🤘😎🎸
Love my s7 (2020 model), just changed the capacitor on the volume, and the pickup selector. And that’s all. 2 years and a half, my main instrument. Love it, especially for the price !
Another great video, Cory. I am a huge PRS fan and have a wonderful collection of several PRS guitars but no Strat version... yet. I think this video did for me though so one may be coming very soon! Since you mentioned how critical it is to have the nut setup properly I am going to offer my 2 cents on this subject for what its worth. I have been playing Strats for 50 years. Still have my '61 sunburst Strat from when I was a kid along with a few that I put together myself along the way. The one thing that solved all of my nut/tremolo related tuning issues was the installation of the Fender Rolling nut. I think they cost $25 (?) With it I can now count on my trem to stay in perfect tune as though it was a Floyd Rose. I seldom have to tune my Strats that have the rolling nut. That said, I seldom play my '61 these days because it's like going back to all of the issues I suffered with all those years before the rolling nut came along. There's a reason why Jeff Beck has had these on his Strats for years. It was an absolute necessity for the very precise, delicate trem that defined his style in the later years. I know that this new PRS Strat with a 2-point trem will stay in tune far better than the old school ones but when I buy my PRS Strat I will still install the Fender rolling nut. They are just that good. Nice playing too, brother! Keep up the great work.
I love the sire guitars. I have the A4 acoustic, I have the T7 and the T7 FM and I have the sire S7 vintage and I also have a V7 bass guitar. I really love the sound and quality. You did a great demonstration.
I bought an H7 and absolutely love it. I have owned three Gibsons and a Fender over the years and this is easily as good tonally, playably and finish-wise as any of them. Full marks to Sire and Larry Carlton. Well done. So nice to get a professional standard instrument at an affordable price!
That is a gorgeous “Strat”. I don’t remember seeing that color option. I’ve had a T7 (Sire’s equivalent “Tele”) for a couple years, and it is almost unbelievably perfect. I really want to try one of their new P90 models. They came out with P90 versions of their LP and 335 models that look awesome.
Just ran across your channel. I LOVE WHAT YOU ARE DOING! Unlike a lot of your contemporaries you are an awesome player and you don't noodle endlessly like a lot of them do. Good Comprehensive review and you know what you are talking about. Keep it up! Its channels like yours that help keep the guitar community healthy. Thank you!
Man….I thought I was done buying guitars for a while… I love my Sire L7 gold top! Now I’m gonna have to pick up one of these. Great job, stumbled onto you today.
I own an S7FM( Blue). I’ve had it about four months and I love it. I play out with it regularly. While I still prefer my Teles and 335, this works just fine and the Fender and Gibson are safe at home. Very versatile. I go thru a Quilter Aviator Cub or a Fender Deluxe Reverb tone master (blonde version). I may pick up an H7 down the road so I can leave the 335 at home
Not sure why youtube has been hiding you away from me for so long but I’m a happy new sub. Not only a great versatile guitarist with historical knowledge and knows his sounds and gear but an awesome charismatic presenter. Shall I go on? Lol awesome
Hi Cory, Just found your site. I have a Sire S3 on order at Sweetwater. Can't wait to get it. I am an old Fender guy that got my first guitar, a Fender Jaguar, in 1963. Learned to play in one year, paid my way ever since and never looked back. Now, I just sit around and play for myself. I learned a lot by going to music venues and watching guitar players. It was expensive but it worked. I can watch a guitarist and pick up what they're playing. Thanks for not only reviewing the Sire but for showing me a bunch of new and "tasty" licks. I'll be a new subscriber! Man, if only I'd had youtube way back them. Guys like you are like gold to me. ;-)) Shalom/gw (which means I wish ALL of God's blessings upon you!)
I have this very guitar, I just love the gold with the roasted neck look. The nut on mine when I got it was bad and had to be replaced, but the replacement nut is perfect and so is the guitar. It replaced my Suhr Olympic white classic pro and I couldn’t be happier with it. I feel like I got my Suhr back only in a different colour and of course far, far cheaper!
Hey Corey, awesome video my friend. I just picked up a S7 FM on FB Marketplace from an absolutely wonderful guy. 2024 model, and he threw in a beautiful hard shell case and a Boss Looper pedal all for $300. I could not be happier. Every bit as nice as my Reverend Charger which I bought new for $1200.
Love your playing and the tones you get from the instrument. Solid S-style sounds! My favorite S-style guitars are not Fenders. I have a mid-eighties Tokai ST-55 that KILLS every Fender I've ever played. I also have an Ernie Ball/Music Man Silhouette Special that plays like butter! It may not be a Fender, but it was designed by Leo. 🙂
Hello Corey, There are some guitar players on UA-cam I'd like to see everyday in my neighborhood and you are mainly part of them. I had a few years ago a wonderful Godin Progression, kind of a big Strat that may featured most of the T7 equipments, with a unique active contour boost. I had it new for a ridiculous price. Now Godin begins to reach high prices. I sold it. What a nut I've been. I will surely buy one of the Sire LC guitars this summer. Maybe the S7 FM with bridge double mic , the S7 you show here, the T7 FM, the H7 with P90's... I still don't know. What is sure is that you always make guitar presentations with wisdom and transparency and you play, wow, I enjoy watching and listening. One thing more that has nothing to do with guitars : you look a little bit like a french actor of the 70's named Victor Lanoux (when he was young) hahahaha. Take care and keep on helping us ! Frederic
Hey Corey, That was a great review! In terms of cons, I prefer a treble bleed, but some people don't. If the retailer doesn't give the instrument a good once over, it's always worth getting the money to get a good tech to go over it, especially at this price point. Anyway, I'm GASing for a T7 FM. I just have to be true to myself and sell one of my guitars first. 😢
I just watched another such review about the Sire S-5 and before that the Sire S-3 comes at almost half the price of the S7. No locking tuners on either, but like you just said: If the nut is filed accurately and "greased" with graphite or if it's a bone nut that's checked by a pro then locking tuners won't matter anymore. The pickups have all the chime you could ask for in an ST-style guitar, I find. Really bright and also punchy, like you said. Nice, very very nice tones! Other than that and if I was in the place of needing to buy a new ST-style then I'd very likely grab a Sire, a MusicMan Cutlass or even the latest Donner ST 550, which is awesome. Your playing is awesome, reminds me of the joy of playing guitar, thanks man! Awesome!
I've got this guitar in this colour, it's very very good. The only criticism I'd have is the low E seems to have a buzz even with a bit more relief and it doesn't seem to be coming from the nut either. Saying that its only noticeable because the other strings and frets are setup so perfect and still better than most guitars. The neck is incredible. The pickups are not quite as good as my American Floyd rose deluxe but not far off and costs much less. I usually hate the neck pickup on a strat but on here it sounds very good. You wouldn't regret buying one
I had that issue too with my new S7 that only the low E string had (fret?) buzz, especially when played a bit louder. Even with a bit more relief it was still present and only on that string. I solved it by just increasing the action of that string. Would you say that's the right thing to do?
Actual owner here. The neck is definitelly both its own blessing and a curse. Yes, satin back, gloss front, stainless steel frets, roasted maple, sure, I wish my previous Fender had that. But my Fender didn't buzz so much, and it didn't have to have such a high action. Do I regret buying it? Well I have to have it plecked, And it Will still be cheaper than a Fender equivalent (I guess Player Plus), but I wish they paid attention more on playability than bling
Great comprehensive review, Corey. I just bought Sire’s H7V, which is essentially an ES-330 copy. I love it. The P90s are among the best stock pickups I’ve ever heard. A few other guys did reviews of it, and actually like it better than the H7. I’m very pleased with the overall quality, and ind it to be a very inspiring instrument. Just a short aside about the H7-last year I saw Larry Carlton on his farewell tour. He actually played an H7 that night. After the show I talked to his guitar tech. He said they had to do a fair amount of tweaking to it, but Larry thought it was good enough to take on the road. Good enough endorsement for me!
I love when you asked if it would "SRV". I'm sitting here thinking: it's Corey that's gonna SRV and let's see if that guitar can go for the ride! I would definitely throw a mild treble bleed in, as I don't want my volume pot to act like a tone pot.
I bought the Larry Carlton ES335 version. I traded it in for a Gretsch. Not because it was a bad guitar. Far from it. It had to do the way my hands felt on the neck. Sire guitars are a SUPER bang for the buck. They're well made, set up nicely right out of the box and the electronics are good. You can't go wrong with one if it suits your hands and style.
Strangely I tried 3 in a shop, all had that terrible degree of roll-off of treble on the volume but then ordered a cheap gen 2 FM return... 1. It was a lot lighter than others, 2 the volume worked OK. No treble bleed as far as I could see 🤔 Love the jamming 👍
Nice vid, Corey. That's a lot of guitar for the money and it sounds especially good in your hands. Upgrade the capacitors and possibly the pots, adjust pickup heights to get the right tones and output balance and gig that thing.
So I’m not a huge Les Paul guy but I figured I’d like to have one in my arsenal. Stumbled upon Daryl Brauns review of sire and loved their L7 model. For the price that they are I couldn’t resist and have not been disappointed with having it. Not my favorite guitar I have but I don’t regret purchasing mine at all. Great review.
@@cragginshred I have not had a problem with the tuning personally. But it also is not my main guitar that i play all the time for gigs and stuff. But it holds tune really well in my experience
Hey Corey! I have a Sire S7 in Transparent Black. I actually got it shipped from Europe about a year ago, it was quite difficult to find it here. I got it for a joke of a price (less than $550). I love that guitar, agree with all you said. However, I must say, I later got the Sterling Cutlass CT50 HSS and dude ... I must say I love that one even better and it was even cheaper. Both are terrific guitars, love them both. The Cutlass features all the same things, but is higher output pickups, responds better to the volume and also is a bit better playability. Love both these guitars. If you didn't try a cutlass, I would recommend it. Thanks for the video man.
These guitars feel so much better then a strat, plus it's got better features, bone nut, locking tuners, the neck is absolutely incredible, with jumbo frets. You can change the pickups ! This feels so much better then a strat player series plus !
I bought a t7 sire. It's a great guitar. I did have to have a new nut put on it because the factory was sub par. Top e would slip out during play but the guitar neck is good enough to have that and a proper setup done. The guitar is just as good as any 1400.00 dollar tele now.
I have the same guitar in antique white. I wasn't worried about the lack of a case as I have plenty of cases and gig bags. But one thing to note, the body of the Sire is not exactly the same as a Fender strat. The upper horn is slightly longer and the lower horn is slightly shorter than on my American Standard strat. So if you have (or want to buy) a nice case with a strat shaped foam cut-out, the Sire might not fit. It doesn't fit in my Fender branded molded ABS case anyway.
Not on the topic of a Sire, but on topic with using the volume on a S-Style, im a big fan. Its so interesting to me on how many tones u can get with just a volume pot even when staying on the same pickup. I have a G&L Tribute S-500 and just between the volume knob, separate bass and treble knobs theres a massive amount of tones available to my disposal. Love rolling the bass down to about 8-9 and the volume down to 7 for clean tones, then when using a fuzz u can go anywhere u want with the knobs to shape the gain and tone of the fuzz. Such a powerful tone shaping tool and i think everyone should experiment with their guitar controls more. That Sire sounds fantastic. Thinking about trying out the Sire LV7 for that p90 Les Paul type if guitar.
I bought the Tele T7 and was really impressed, I've never owned a guitar like a TA or a high-end PRS but have played them, the Tele seemed to be in the same league for less $$ (to me :-)). I've also checked out multiple online teachers to sharpen my chops and learn more theory at the same time. While they are all excellent, I have learned more from you due to your easy manner and your explanations tend to be geared toward my way of learning without my head exploding 🙂. It always feels like we've been friends for years and you're just helping me with my chops, so thank you, keep it up. I will remain a Patron.
I use pickup position #2 all the time on my HSS strat. With overdrive, it sounds just like position #1, just with less gain. Try it. Play position #1 with quite a bit of gain, then switch to position #2 and play the same thing. It's like turning down the gain a bit. A lot of times in my cover band I use position #2 as a dirty rhythm tone while I'm singing. It has that same biting, humbucker tone, but a little cleaner, a little less output. It's the perfect thing in some cases.
Yes I have this guitar . No push pull on mine so I can only presume they changed that later. I've had mine a few years in FM Blue which is a killer finish. To get a Fender or similar with the specs you'd likely be talking a few K more . It's an amazing guitar. What would make my guitar sound better though would be your hands lol. man you are a seriously great guitar player. I enjoyed watching this just to hear you play.
Gotta be the most comprehensive demo ever. With great musical playing to boot! Thanks Corey. I wish I could just hang with you, jam and learn you seem like a cool cat.
I have the Sire Strat with the three traditional single coil pickups and it's great. The only issue I've had with it is that the High E string tends to roll over the edge of the fret board. So fretting on it requires precision and care.
I ended up going with a T7 rather than a Tele and couldn't be happier. The neck is awesome. I have similar feelings about the electronics, pickups are great but hit and miss at different volumes so I fiddle with the tone more.
I bought my 93 deluxe plus Strat in 96 used for $750. And ya got all that good stuff on it but I guess what I really wrote my comment about is the 27 yrs worth of wear and tear on the maple neck. Always felt right to me from the day I picked it up. And now it's like those old faded favorite pair of jeans you wear around the house. Just so comfy and used to.
Heads Up to anyone considering a Sire guitar. My T3 arrived with defective saddle-height screws. None of the 12 screws fit the allen wrench well, and 2 of them won't bite at all. So I can't adjust 2 of the 6 saddles. I understand that defective parts might make their way onto any guitar, so I wasn't too concerned. I emailed Sire right away and asked for replacements. But I'm still waiting, and my 30 day return period is passing quickly. Just something to consider when choosing a brand.
My experience was bittersweet, mine came bad from factory, terrible fretboard finish, my first and second frets had like 0.5mm gap on the straight edge sitting over the wood, I had to remove the frets, refinish the fretboard and I went to medium frets. After the fix I loved it, very stable. I did email Sire about the problem, their answer was discouraging at best. Mine was pre owned so I had no warranty. My luthier said the fretboard didn't feel like ebony and some dye was applied to it which stayed on my fingers for a while... all and all I'm happy now, but be careful when you buy, can't say much good about quality control.
I bought the Sire les paul model and I couldn't be happier. Domestic distributors like Sweetwater have had difficulty keeping these in stock. I ordered through European distributor Thomann who have been better able to keep them in stock. Also mine was priced at $641 domestically but only $500 through Thomann.
Corey, just found your chanel. Great review, I found it to be very honest and fair. I own a T7 and a L7. The build quality is incredibly for the price point. Not bashing Fender but they are not in a position in there line up to offer a guitar with these features with out it costing big bucks. Thank you for the review, looking forward to many more. 😊
Good video! I bought the L7. Took it in for a couple of frets that were off and a tone pot that was more linear. The tapered one didn’t do much till a big roll off right at the end. I still enjoy it. Good guitar for 600.
It’s a nice looking guitar. I like the finish on the neck. I also like the zebra pickup, makes it look like a single coil at first glance. It’s not cheap here in Australia though. That model is $1300!
I’ve had my Sire MM V7 vintage 5 string for over a year now and it is by far the best bass I’ve played. Is it perfect, nope, but it is a damn good bass that has the tone I want and have been looking for in a price point that I can afford without having to buy brand-name.
I recently bought sire s7v (les paul loaded with p90s). Great guitar (not only for the money) bit in general sense. Came in set up almost perfectly. Better then much more expesive gibsons or fenders i (used to) own.honestly said, after a while every guitar will have certain part I would consider upgrading anyhow. But I will be getting another Sire for sure - I think this is the only guitar i haven't felt I overpaid for the specs/playability etc (i do not own custom shop guitars). Regards to all..
Hey Corey I have my eye on a Sire S3, I can’t afford an S7.. I originally was looking at the Squire Classic Vibe Strats but when I found out what type of cheap parts they use from the small style of pots for volume and tone and thin cheap tremolo block the Sire guitars seemed like a no brainer to look more into.. I am patiently saving up for my Sire S3 I can’t wait to have it in my hands.. Nice review by the way.. Craig
Guitar looks great, and your amazing chops highlight the guitar’s sounds very well! An amazing value for under $700! Roasted neck! For intonation improvement, I’ve used the Earvana Nut on my 1981 Walnut The STRAT, with Sperzal Locking Tuners. Stays in tune perfectly!
Never heard of Sire until recently. From my experience with guitars at that price point, I just figured that it was some cheap epiphone knockoff, and from what everyone seems to say, they prefer their Sires over the “real” deal I pulled the trigger on my first one. My new Sire L7V arrives tomorrow!
After checking all companies making Strat style guitars at midline or entry level Sire is by far and away the best value when considering the woods the nut material almost everyone except Sire is using poplar bodies and anything but rosewood fingerboards... I am going to purcahse one soon
I’m a guitar player but own a Sire P5 Bass and it’s light, fast and plays great. Played great out of the box. I only put on flatwounds on it. Love your guitar demo and it has me interested in buying one of these Sire S7 strats. Great demo and amazing tones Corey! Thank you 🙏🏾 for doing this review.
Listening to you and see you play has me fall in love with the guitar all over again, great job and demo and your time and pocket are simply great! Sire should be so lucky to _get to pay_ you, awesome, really!
I really like the color, looks and sounds great. Those are some very nice guitars. I could see spending a little on wiring maybe need pots . All the bones are therefor a professional guitar. They hit a home run with the entire line of guitars.
O.K...If your not getting paid for this spot, you d..n well should be. I have heard a lot people on the net selling this guitar who "are" getting paid and you are much better at it than they are. I have not really been into this guitar till I saw this vid and you ran it through the changes. Kudos too you. Just my 2 cents worth.
Larry Carlton talked about his association with Sire in an interview with Sweetwater about a year ago - around the time you made this video. It is on YT titled "Larry Carlton on his Signature Sire S3 & T3 Electric Guitars" - these are the cheapest models in the Sire line and sure, it's a marketing video but if anyone's interested in the link between Mr Carlton and the company and his input it gives you some basic information. I just bought my son an S7 and I can say that it is a beautiful guitar, it oozes quality and it really does feel a lot more expensive than it actually is. Try one for yourself if you're looking for a very capable mid range S Style.
I own a Sire S7 for almost three years now. Mine is the first type, without the coil split on the humbucker that the current S7 has. I am somewhat surprised by the statement that you are missing a treble bleed on this guitar because it is definitely there! By the way, I think this is a great guitar with features that I would also like to see on a USA Fender, which I also own.
I went with the Sterling by Ernie Ball CT-50 instead of the Sire S7. They are essentially the same guitar. I prefer the EB headstock arrangement, as far as tuning stability goes, plus it has a 12" radius which I prefer over the 9.5 of the Sire.
Recently bought a used Sire Marcus Miller short scale bass. Very nice for the money and in nice shape! I’m a guitar player with short fingers, so the 30” scale suits me. The rolled fretboard edges are a nice touch as you mentioned. I needed to do some setup to dial in the intonation and a truss rod adjustment to get rid of some buzz, but I’ve had it a month and it does what I want it to!
I love mine, but I have to Thank you for showing me it has a coil split, lol never even tried it on mine!!! I had mine plexed when I bought it, and did small finish on the nut but love it!!!!
Corey - I haven't played a Sire yet, but totally agree on the rolled fretboard. I've got a Baja Tele and the rolled edges are great! Nice video, thanks!!

Hello Corey! The higher end models with flame top have the treble bleed =)
Oh nice! Good to know!
@@coreycongilio yeah this brand really do the extra work for the players 👌 I was blown away the first time I tried one. Has been my number one guitar for function gigs since. Thanks a lot! 🙏🏽😊
Watched your video and immediately went to Sweetwater and picked up the vintage sunburst s7 , must say you make it sound alot better than myself but very inspiring. Big thanks
Hey Cory, I’ve had my Sire for a couple of years now, played almost every day and haven’t got a single complaint. It’s a great tool.
Appreciate that!
So, if you change the volume potentiometer and buy a bag, there are basically zero cons… for just 700 bucks. That is seriously impressive! 😳
Excellent playing and great setup!
@@SamiKankaristo A small mod that the manufacturer could do going forward without affecting the cost much, if at all.
Im not wild about the feel of the selector switch or the pots. they work fine though.
Nice to read of Sire owners both gigging with confidence and making mods that enhance the guitar.
How is the tuning stability on the L7? I have had horrible luck with Gibson's including re issue 5g ones
@@cragginshred solid with the locking tuners. Actually better than my LP.
Agreed....best in its price range by far
Thank you for that. All the best!
I have the first series S7 FM and it shines in every way. Mine came with a treble bleed circuit inside. It changes the sound a bit in a more hifi way. The first series didn't have the coil split option but I don't care. It's a workhorse which gets the job done. Great review!
So you support a racist bigot company then?
No issues with my S7. For the money it's an incredible guitar. I'll buy another Sire soon.
Bought this exact model and color because of this review! Thank you for being a huge help.
Had my S7 (Green/White Pearl) for a while now (no coil split), but it has one of the best feeling necks of any guitar I own,
Love this guitar.
Thank you!
Thx so much for that! Appreciate it!
It's crazy how much better this guitar is than every other strat on the market in terms of hardware and playability. At least from those that I saw
Check out a Vola
Just bought one last night. It’s used and it’s the FM version. Love it so far. Makes me want to play.
Lol awesome
Hey thx so much! Appreciate it
Hi Cory, Just found your site. Guys like you are like gold to me. ;-)) Shalom/gw (which means I wish ALL of God's blessings upon you!)
thx for the sub and great comment!
Hello Corey,
There are some guitar players on UA-cam I'd like to see everyday in my neighborhood and you are mainly part of them.
You're just such a darn good player that you make every guitar sound fantastic!
I have a Sire t7 butterscotch and an h7v- you can’t beat the appointments and the playability is fantastic.
I own a T3, a T7 and the 335 version. They sound great and playability is awesome.
No treble bleed as far as I could see 🤔
Love the jamming 👍
Nice vid, Corey. That's a lot of guitar for the money and it sounds especially good in your hands. Upgrade the capacitors and possibly the pots, adjust pickup heights to get the right tones and output balance and gig that thing.
Thx! There ya go!
How is the tuning stability on the L7?
@@cragginshred I have not had a problem with the tuning personally. But it also is not my main guitar that i play all the time for gigs and stuff. But it holds tune really well in my experience
I'm huge dude, and i bought S7 for myself. This upper horn is massive. It feels like playing precision bass.
Got none of their guitars but two of their basses. They are absolutely great, out compete Fender Players IMO!
Thanks so much, Tom. I really appreciate it! Glad the lessons have been helpful
Hey thx!
Hi, I've been playing for sixty years. I recently bought a Sire S3 from Sweetwater. Great company, BTW. It's perfect. I love if! Shalom/gw
I have the Sire Strat with the three traditional single coil pickups and it's great. The only issue I've had with it is that the High E string tends to roll over the edge of the fret board. So fretting on it requires precision and care.
It seems absolutely magnificent for the price. I think I might get one.
I have an S7 and there is no cons , can’t beat the price for the quality!
I haven't seen one of these in person yet, but it looks like a great instrument to recommend to intermediate players.
Love the Sire brand. I play a sire bass, and it's responsive and gets deep tones.
Hey thx! Welcome to the channel!
I like the style of this review. Nicely done, conversational and informative. Also done on an amp I’m familiar with, having owned one myself.
Got a Gretsch G5421 and Sire S3 HSS (model below in video) and am very happy with both very reasonably priced guitars.
How is the tuning stability?
I have an S7 vintage that i prefer over any fender american standard I've ever played. Excellent instrument.
Craig
Yes, I've got one Corey, it's a great guitar. Feels like a boutique guitar on a budget 😅
Thanks for sharing! My pleasure!
Listening to you and see you play has me fall in love with the guitar all over again, great job and demo and your time and pocket are simply great! Sire should be so lucky to _get to pay_ you, awesome, really!
Hey thx so much! Haven’t been contacted about any payments yet haha!
@@coreycongilio ☺️, I just meant to say that they'd be smart to have offered that to you, is all. It was a rhetorical remark. 😇
Nice straight forward review. I’m considering getting one for sure. Fender charges much more and has less spec.
I really like the color, looks and sounds great. Those are some very nice guitars. I could see spending a little on wiring maybe need pots . All the bones are therefor a professional guitar. They hit a home run with the entire line of guitars.
I have the S7 a d the pickups are delish! The only problem for me is the neck is too narrow at the nut so the string spacing is a bit tight
Great playing and tones! Thank you.
Have a L7 (les paul style) with P90s. Sounds Fantastic, and most of all, plays really well. Neck is just woww
I love mine, but I have to Thank you for showing me it has a coil split, lol never even tried it on mine!!! I had mine plexed when I bought it, and did small finish on the nut but love it!!!!
The entire Larry Carlton series by Sire is fantastic and definitely live up to the hype.
Man your a hell of a player and your sharing so much guitar wisdom! Thanks very much! Great work!
I appreciate that!
Corey - I haven't played a Sire yet, but totally agree on the rolled fretboard. I've got a Baja Tele and the rolled edges are great! Nice video, thanks!!
