Songs can do a lot of work, but even so the emotions you can get from the same chords can be almost contrasting and you need the context to decide which emotion is the correct one
So, Deal Gone Wrong. You kinda got the feel of it correct since it's the song that plays before the big fight against the chapter's secret boss. It also play in Queen's Palace during a Snowgrave route(Slowed down) and a sped up version plays when the secret boss uses a special attack. As for who the secret boss is...I can't tell you yet, you're not enough of a BIG SHOT.

Toby fox reuses a LOT of his motifs, both in undertale and deltarune (and deltarune reuses some of undertale's! The games ARE alternate universes of each other after all), and he does it in such new and different ways that it's wonderful each time. ESPECIALLY when some of those motifs are associated with certain moments in the game so when it comes in in a different song, the emotions hit hard.
I'm glad that you liked Smart Race! It may not be the most complex track that Toby has written, but it's still one of my absolute favourites, especially since the character whose theme it is is also one of my absolute favourites (even though he sucks)
for deltarune songs, i reccomend "It's Pronounced "Rules"" - a LITERAL pirate song (if you havent listened to it already, that is) for other game soundtracks, i HIGHLY *HIGHLY* recommend Celeste. its so pretty and SO SO emotional, itll hit you JUST as hard, if not *_MORE_* than the undertale/deltarune soundtracks do and the "b-side" albums are just a BOP. but if youre looking for things that hit you emotionally, the normal non-bside songs are there
The "sense of triumph" for A CYBER'S WORLD? is absolutely how it should feel. This point in the game is basically rewarding the player for waiting for chapter 2 to release.

One of my favorite games ever! I'll second your recommendation. The soundtrack is simple, yet incredibly well done. I listen to it very often, especially to the track called "Tiny Planets." Also, I can really recommend the game too to anyone who haven't tried it. It is such a wholesome and beautiful game. One of the best video game stories ever written, unforgettable characters and the pacing is perfect. A hidden gem!

I love reading the comments and keeping track of how different fandoms are connected to each other. Make a video reacting to Undertale and you get people suggesting Deltarune, Homestuck, Omori... Even saw some Hollow Knight and Celeste here. The thing is with "A Cybers World!?" is what happens in the game when it starts to play. The sequence that featured this song is one of the best uses of music tying into gameplay that I have ever seen.
Cyber's World is actually more of an intro song. It's the theme of the first area in chapter 2 of Deltarune. It continues the tradition of the first area song being an absolute banger (the previous one being Field of Hopes and Dreams).
fun fact, if you speed "Deal gone wrong" up, you'll get the beginning of a track named "Spamton", which is the overworld version of "Now's your chance to be a" (which was a battle theme), which you reacted to last time.
"Scarlet Forest" actually plays in one of the areas in the game that you can walk around in. Yes. One of the basic areas in the overworld. That's how good Toby Fox's music is. He pulls no punches when it comes to putting amazing music in every location and situation he can. This is why "Field of Hopes and Dreams" and "A CYBERS WORLD?" are extremely good. They play in the opening areas of Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 respectively. Right out of the gate, there's good music everywhere in this game.
Don't forget is a very special song for me. Feels like home honestly. The line "there's a light inside your soul, that's still shining in the cold." Means a lot. I hope you get to feeling better soon Mathew. 💙

Don’t Forget is the ending theme of Deltarune and fits the themes perfectly. There’s a separate version for Chapter 2 as well which is all glitchy and messed up which fits given the second chapter’s techno style while the story also starts getting progressively darker.
Keep in mind, the songs in both UNDERTALE and DELTARUNE loop perfectly, there is hardly a pause between a loop. Some songs always and abruptly because if looped, then it sounds like it never ends.
Something I like about the first song you listened to is that it’s for the end of the game and throughout many other songs you can here a melody that are at the same notes or similar to the “I’m with you in the dark” part
Scarlet Forest lowkey reminds me of the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack. If you haven't played the game, I would love it if you could listen to some of the songs! For example: Dearly Beloved (There are many versions of it btw, I'd recommend the KH2 version) To Our Surprise (One of my personal favorites) The 13th Struggle Xion's Theme Sanctuary Rage Awakening The Other Promise Don't Think Twice
Laura Shigahara is the vocalist for Don't forget, and she's also the one who's sung the credits song of a few Freebird games such as "Everything's Alright" from "To the Moon" honestly, i reccomend doing a video just on Laura shigahara; a lot of her music seems to have a theme of relations and companionship, and that's jsut me thinking of one's mentioned here and her minecraft songs like "cube land". she's a wonderful artist and definitely worth checking out.

I haven't had the pleasure of playing Deltarune yet but I have unintentionally heard a lot of the OST and it's incredible. As someone who was in a string orchestra for many years, Scarlet Forest makes me irrationally happy.
It was about time you did deltarune! I suggest you react to The Cyclone next. It is a musical that has been blowing up on tiktok recently. I myself watched a recording of it and fell in love. Balled of Jane Doe is a must watch if you do react to it. Keep in mind that she is spinning in the air while singing those notes! The breath control is crazy.
YES DELTARUNE!! Love your videos as always! I remember squealing as soon as I learned they got Laura Shigihara for a song. She composed the OST for Plants vs. Zombies, one of favorite games as a kid, and she sang the ending song “There’s a Zombie in Your Lawn”. If you haven’t listened to Plants vs. Zombies OST, I highly recommend you check that out. Really fun orchestral themes!

Ive been thinking of suggesting this for a while but never got to catch an upload recently I'd recommend listening to tracks from Undertale the Musical or Deltarune the (not) Musical by Man on the Internet. They essentially made lyrical adaptations out of the game soundtracks and strung them into a musical format (or more dissconnected with Deltarune as, how can you make a musical of a game that hasn't even released fully lol) It's a giant fanmade passion project that has some really cool tracks and use of the soundtrack and definitely worth a watch
I like how he noticed the Cyber's World theme using the same melody as something before- it doesnt- but never noticed the other 50 in all of these songs.
Putting it out there, the Pokémon Uranium OST is absolutely phenomenal, especially the trainer battle theme. It’s legitimately wonderful. It’s an amazing game too, darker than other Pokémon games. You can still get it online through its subreddit
Since the third game has come out recently, i highly recomend checking out the Splatoon OST! They've got some really nice songs. Here are some i personally like a lot: - Calamari Incantation (all version, though 3mix is probably the best one) - Splattack! - Ebb and Flow - Fly Octo Fly - Anarchy Rainbow - Wave Goodbye - Entropical Just some examples off the top of my head
I am torn between telling you to listen to Until Next Time on video and just playing the game to hear it for the first time. When it shows up in game, it's so incredibly powerful and perfectly placed.

I can always watch someone understand the genius of video game music lol For more deltarune I can recommend "my castle town", "dialtone", "chaos king" and "the legend" Btw some songs you heard have the "don't forget" leitmotif, it's a pretty important and common one 😀 And in terms of other games with good ost you can check out hollow knight and terraria. Just an example of course and you dont have to hurry 👍
"Don't Forget" is probably the most important song in Deltarune, at least chapter 1 and probably chapter 2 also. Despite sounding really nice, there are some really ominous ways to interpret it. It's also a leitmotif in basically every single other song in the OST, even if it's really concealed. Go back and listen to The World Revolving with Don't Forget in mind. Smart Race... they gave the most awful character in Deltarune the best themes. Toby Fox did get more help for the Deltarune OST. He had some assistance with Undertale, but Deltarune is more ambitious and so he actually built a team for the project. I think they all did a good job of keeping to Toby's "style", while also branching out a little and including some of their own style. One of the things about Toby always making the music sound "weird" (microtone shenanigans, weird chords, etc) is that he's working with synths most of the time. The thing about synths is they're always in tune, and depending on how you make the music they're always on time. That's great but it's not how "real" music that humans have been listening to for thousands of years sounds. Ironically, music sounding perfect is also weird and off-putting if you listen to it for long enough. (Consider modern heavy metal...) So what Toby is doing is he's giving each piece a slight spin that's appropriate for it, detuning stuff a little or the like, and the effect when you listen to it over a whole game is that it never gets to that point where it sounds monotonous. It always sounds human. Except for Your Best Nightmare, i guess.

Also, the song "Deal gone wrong" has connections to "It's time for you to be a" and "Big shot". I really like your reactions too, but since the songs are so short, sometimes your comments break it right at the end. Could up put some of the longer comments after each song?
Ooh! For Laura's voice she also sang basically the main themes in another game, being To The Moon. It's a really sweet and simple game and made me cry lmao- but the tracks are amazing and the main theme is Everything's Alright and I really recommend checking it out! Hell maybe even playing the game- though it is very obscure.

Laura Shigihara is an amazing artist! you should absolutely listen to her stuff, especially songs/tracks from her game Rakuen. The Keepers, Mori no Kokoro, and Build a Little World are just a few of my favorites from the game. (if you want, play the game as well. it is an emotional roller coaster)

"Scarlet Forest" actually plays in one of the areas in the game that you can walk around in. Yes. One of the basic areas in the overworld. That's how good Toby Fox's music is. He pulls no punches when it comes to putting amazing music in every location and situation he can.
This is why "Field of Hopes and Dreams" and "A CYBERS WORLD?" are extremely good. They play in the opening areas of Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 respectively. Right out of the gate, there's good music everywhere in this game.
Even if it doesn't have lyrics... It's... still called a *song...* That... doesn't disqualify it from being a song...

Try to keep an ear out for the melody of Don't Forget as it is everywhere.

Don’t Forget is the ending theme of Deltarune and fits the themes perfectly. There’s a separate version for Chapter 2 as well which is all glitchy and messed up which fits given the second chapter’s techno style while the story also starts getting progressively darker.
Keep in mind, the songs in both UNDERTALE and DELTARUNE loop perfectly, there is hardly a pause between a loop.
Some songs always and abruptly because if looped, then it sounds like it never ends.
Something I like about the first song you listened to is that it’s for the end of the game and throughout many other songs you can here a melody that are at the same notes or similar to the “I’m with you in the dark” part

It took me a while to like the Deltarune sountrack, but "A Cyber's World?" was what helped me realize what a great soundtrack it is.
Scarlet Forest lowkey reminds me of the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack. If you haven't played the game, I would love it if you could listen to some of the songs!

honestly, i reccomend doing a video just on Laura shigahara; a lot of her music seems to have a theme of relations and companionship, and that's jsut me thinking of one's mentioned here and her minecraft songs like "cube land". she's a wonderful artist and definitely worth checking out.
She also sang “There’s a Zombie on your Lawn”

I haven't had the pleasure of playing Deltarune yet but I have unintentionally heard a lot of the OST and it's incredible. As someone who was in a string orchestra for many years, Scarlet Forest makes me irrationally happy.
It was about time you did deltarune! I suggest you react to The Cyclone next. It is a musical that has been blowing up on tiktok recently. I myself watched a recording of it and fell in love. Balled of Jane Doe is a must watch if you do react to it. Keep in mind that she is spinning in the air while singing those notes! The breath control is crazy.

I remember squealing as soon as I learned they got Laura Shigihara
for a song. She composed the OST for Plants vs. Zombies, one of favorite games as a kid, and she sang the ending song “There’s a Zombie in Your Lawn”. If you haven’t listened to Plants vs. Zombies OST, I highly recommend you check that out. Really fun orchestral themes!

Ive been thinking of suggesting this for a while but never got to catch an upload recently
I'd recommend listening to tracks from Undertale the Musical or Deltarune the (not) Musical by Man on the Internet. They essentially made lyrical adaptations out of the game soundtracks and strung them into a musical format (or more dissconnected with Deltarune as, how can you make a musical of a game that hasn't even released fully lol)
It's a giant fanmade passion project that has some really cool tracks and use of the soundtrack and definitely worth a watch
Those musical's are so good some of my favorite by moti.
I like how he noticed the Cyber's World theme using the same melody as something before- it doesnt- but never noticed the other 50 in all of these songs.
Putting it out there, the Pokémon Uranium OST is absolutely phenomenal, especially the trainer battle theme. It’s legitimately wonderful.
It’s an amazing game too, darker than other Pokémon games. You can still get it online through its subreddit
Since the third game has come out recently, i highly recomend checking out the Splatoon OST! They've got some really nice songs. Here are some i personally like a lot:

I am torn between telling you to listen to Until Next Time on video and just playing the game to hear it for the first time. When it shows up in game, it's so incredibly powerful and perfectly placed.

You could also listen to "Pandora Palace", that one is a bop, also "Chaos King"
"Don't Forget" is probably the most important song in Deltarune, at least chapter 1 and probably chapter 2 also. Despite sounding really nice, there are some really ominous ways to interpret it. It's also a leitmotif in basically every single other song in the OST, even if it's really concealed. Go back and listen to The World Revolving with Don't Forget in mind.
Smart Race... they gave the most awful character in Deltarune the best themes.
Toby Fox did get more help for the Deltarune OST. He had some assistance with Undertale, but Deltarune is more ambitious and so he actually built a team for the project. I think they all did a good job of keeping to Toby's "style", while also branching out a little and including some of their own style.
One of the things about Toby always making the music sound "weird" (microtone shenanigans, weird chords, etc) is that he's working with synths most of the time. The thing about synths is they're always in tune, and depending on how you make the music they're always on time. That's great but it's not how "real" music that humans have been listening to for thousands of years sounds. Ironically, music sounding perfect is also weird and off-putting if you listen to it for long enough. (Consider modern heavy metal...) So what Toby is doing is he's giving each piece a slight spin that's appropriate for it, detuning stuff a little or the like, and the effect when you listen to it over a whole game is that it never gets to that point where it sounds monotonous. It always sounds human.
Except for Your Best Nightmare, i guess.

Ooh! For Laura's voice she also sang basically the main themes in another game, being To The Moon. It's a really sweet and simple game and made me cry lmao- but the tracks are amazing and the main theme is Everything's Alright and I really recommend checking it out! Hell maybe even playing the game- though it is very obscure.

The Scarlet Forest theme has always made me think of the themes for wonderland and neverland from Kingdom Hearts.

Laura Shigihara is an amazing artist! you should absolutely listen to her stuff, especially songs/tracks from her game Rakuen. The Keepers, Mori no Kokoro, and Build a Little World are just a few of my favorites from the game. (if you want, play the game as well. it is an emotional roller coaster)

Toby Fox HAS composed a Rock Opera, though not a movie... there's a fan animation for the rock opera... it's called "The Baby Is You", and it got him banned from the MSPA Forums. It was for Homestuck 💪
