Thanks for being here y'all! I know you have been asking for this video a LOT! Haha there's more where this came from, I just wanna make sure I space things out so I don't milk it too much really close together 💙 I like staying respectful of both the source material and my audience! I hope you're excited for more though, and feel free to let me know what you'd like me to listen to next! 🥰

If you ever finish Undertale, I'm gonna be BEGGING. On my KNEES. That you play Deltarune, it's so charming and the characters are really funny, modern, while also sticking to the charm of Undertale.
Fun fact: Several Deltarune songs use leitmotifs from Undertale OST, "Rude Buster" uses "Determination"; "BIG SHOT" has "Dummy!" and "Power of NEO" as well as other Deltarune song "The World Revolving"
The fandom calls the "The World Revolving" leitmotif the "Freedom" leitmotif due to the flavor text that says "The air crackles with freedom." in both fights with Spamton Neo and Jevil.
I think “Imminent Death” uses “Your Best Nightmare” It also sound like “Giga Size” uses “Burn in Despair” and “Knock You Down” uses “Stronger Monsters”
I think “Nows your chance to be a” and “Big Shot” are the first good example you’ve had of Toby’s reusing musical themes. Big Shot in particular has throwbacks to like, five different songs. And it’s not just a mashup, each song and the characters or scenes it’s used for relates to that theme. It’s crazy stuff and I know once you get into it you’re gonna love it.
Aaand I should finish the video before commenting! “Big Shot” also uses a lot of the same melodies a “The World Revolving” and there are good reasons for it
There's also "Spamton" and "Deal Gone Wrong" that use the "Big Shot" theme. "Dial Tone" uses a similar theme with "The World Revolving", which itself can also be heard in "Big Shot".
@@josephD32 yeah I was trying to stick to one’s I knew Mathew had listened to, but there are often multiple references per song. I love the “Dummy!” callback in Big Shot.
@@SeanIanJacobson01 I get ya. Toby makes and mixes so many motifs together to make even more epic music. Just wait until Matthew actually starts playing the games. Dive head first down the rabbit hole, lol.
Deltarune's soundtrack is fantastic, Toby keeps putting out banger after banger, even after more than 10 years composing, so glad you're doing this!! You've listened to some of the fan favorites, but that's still lots of good ones from this game, here are some I recommend: -Don't Forget (this one I think would be best to end the video with) -Chaos King -VS Susie -Darkness Falls -A Cyber's World -Knock You Down -Lost Girl -Smart Race -Welcome to the City (ALT) -Scarlet Forest PS: Really excited to hear about your gaming channel, I hope you get to enjoy the many good experiences out there!!!
@@Klui_ I was thinking about what’s going on when welcome to the city (ALT) is playing not how It sounded, that’s probably the only complain I’d have when hearing since it makes me sad
You've listened to some of the more popular deltarune songs already, but there's still PLENTY that are amazing, here's some examples. - A CYBERS WORLD (its just so fun, I always want to dance to it, it's got that cyber feel to it too) - Giga size (epic. sounds like a more dark/evil version of "attack of the killer queen") - Knock You Down !! (it's just so fun!! ah it just scratches my brain the right way) - Deal gone wrong (creepy, slow and sort of distorted. sounds kind of like something going really wrong... its similair to BIG SHOT and actually plays right before it in the game) - Scarlet Forest (this one is just fun to listen to, it's kinda calm) - Vs. Susie (ahh this one is so cool and epic!! I recommend this one. the character to which this song plays to is badass af) - The Circus (sounds exactly like the title. pretty creepy, kind of. and very clown-ish ;D) - Don't forget (I recommend listening to this one last, as it's a beautiful way to end the video :)) - The Dark Truth (creepy... and sort of sad? it's dark, and sort of shows the creepier side of the whole story in deltarune) These are just some examples! :) also the reason why the songs end so abruptly is because they loop in the game! I can't wait to see your playthrough of undertale (and possibly deltarune? although the game is still going, there's only 2 chapters out!) The soundtrack is SO much better when theres context, trust me. hope you choose some of the songs that I recommended :D
Someone requested Man on the internet songs and while I think I requested those before and highly recommend listening to them, I also just wanna add that you should probably fully play through Undertale first to make sure you're not spoiled to the story. They made a musical from Undertale and added lyrics and singing to the songs, they're really great!!! But yea they also definitely have spoilers in lol. There's a playlist with the songs separately (minus a few due to UA-cam issues) or the full 4 hour musical with all the songs and voice acting/the whole story. I think the full 4 hours is absolutely worth it but also I can completely understand if that's too long XD If you do decide to give these songs a listen, I'm super excited to see your reaction to them!! :D
BIG SHOT and the world revolving are both highly connected by lemotifs with many other songs and eachother, because they are "secret" boss fight themes. A big lemotif in those two comes from "don't forget", which is chapter 1's credits theme. It also has lyrics. Highly suggest.
0:54 - Rude Buster 3:16 - BIG SHOT 6:16 - NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A 7:56 - Attack of the Killer Queen 10:41 - Field of Hopes and Dreams 13:25 - THE WORLD REVOLVING
When it comes to Deltarune’s music, not all of it is solely made by Toby Fox. Lena Raine made Cyber Battle (Solo) and also contributed to Attack of The Killer Queen. She is known for her work on the soundtracks of Minecraft, Celeste, and Steven Universe: The Movie. Marcy Nabors also contributed to Attack of the Killer Queen and is known for her work on Homestuck. The vocals in Don’t Forget/Untill Next Time are by Laura Shigihara, who is known for creating the entire soundtrack for the original Plants vs Zombies, and finally Fanfare is from Rose of Winter, who the writer and creative director of, Magnolia Porter, is listed in Undertale’s credits as assistant monster designer. She’s the sole creator of Snowdrake, Icecap, Gyftrot?, Vulkin, and potentially many more non-battleable monsters, who don’t have specific credits listed for them.
Nice, we’re onto Deltarune. This soundtrack bops even harder than Undertale’s (in my opinion). I recommend “It’s Pronounced Rules”, since it’s really underrated and I don’t think a lot of people will recommend it.
so, for context "Rude buster" is Deltarune's "normal enemy battle" theme. So, if you were to play the game, you'd here this song about every time a non-boss enemy attacks. "Big shot" is used for the second chapter's secret boss fight (bc yes, every chapter so far has a secret boss). The secret boss is genuinly harder then all the other fights of said chapter as well. Also, yes, it's one of the first songs with vocals. though not the first. If you listen closely, you can also hear the themes Dummy! from Undertale, Power of "NEO" from Undertale and A world revolving from Deltarune "Now's your chance to be a" is Spamton's normal battle theme. so yes, Big shot is his secondairy boss theme. "Attack of the killer queen" is Chapter 2's main boss theme, from a character named Queen. At some points, you'll also hear a part of "Smart race", a theme from another character called Berdly. Queen and Berdly's theme's interlap with each other a lot. "Field of hopes and dreams" is an overworld theme of an area wharing the same name. "The world revolving" is the main these of chapter one's secret boss Chapter 1 and 2 are also set in different settings, with chapter 1 being based on board games and chapter 2 being based on computers. some suggestions: vs. Lancer (chapter 1) vs. Susie (chapter 1) Lantern (chapter 1) Checker dance (chapter 1) Chaos king (chapter 1) the circuse (chapter 1) The holy (chapter 1) Don't forget (chapter 1) Queen (chapter 2) A cyber's wrold/ (Chapter 2) Cyber battle (chapter 2) berdly (chapter 2) smart race (chapter 2) Pandora palace (chapter 2) Giga size (chapter 2) Pwers combined + Knock you down !! (chapter 2)
"The World Revolving" has to be one of my favorites. It sounds playful and fast paced, but there's this sad and desperate undertone. A wild, wacky ride to escape from reality. The desperation can really be felt near the end of the song when the same melody keeps playing and playing before being cut off. "I was expecting a sustained note" As with most tracks in Undertale/Deltarune, the cutoff is for the song to loop, but the loop usually feels pretty natural. With this one? It feels more like the melody forgot itself after repeating for so long.
As someone who beat Sans in Undertale and went into the Jevil fight pretty confident (before getting my ass handed to me), I can assure there was an air of finality.
@@mchsprod wait, seriously? Jevil did give me trouble, more than Spamton even in Snowgrave in fact, but I never managed to beat even just Undyne the Undying, let alone Sans. I don't think he's in the same league.
@@HaganeNoGijutsushi no Jevil kicked my ass, but I should've made the joke more clear The punchline was that my life had a sense of finality to it because yea, but I assumed people would infer it from the vauge comment I made that was more bragging than joking
You mentioned you weren't sure what kind of instrument was being used or implied at 9:27, I believe it's a harpsichord! Which is a very medieval style of instrument, so you're spot on in that regard.
Since you like the Undertale & Deltarune ost’s, I must suggest the OST from the game OMORI. Fantastic game tho depressing, and the soundtrack is banger. *The first three I listed please only listen to the audio versions as they may come with videos that contain spoilers! :) **comes in four variations Some recommendations: Duet* My Time * Good morning* Title White Space By Your Side. World’s End Valentine You Were Wrong. Go Back. Lost Library Gator Gamble A Home For Flowers** Spaces Inbetween. Lost at a Sleepover Acrophobia Goldenvengeance Bready Steady Go It Means Everything Underwater Prom Queens Chaos Assembly Sweet Paralysis Star Dust Diving There you are! Hopefully you enjoy ‘em :D Edit: Thank you for all the suggestions! I’ll be adding to the list as I get them since the songs are all jams :D
YESS would love to see it! I would also recommend bready steady go, it means everything, sweet paralysis, and chaos assembly since those are some of my favorites. But that’s already a lot of songs to listen to😂
In case you make a part two here's some of my faves: Chaos King Vs Susie A Town Called Hometown Scarlet Forest The Legend Lost Girl Pandora Palace Check Dance Sorry if that's a lot! It hard to chose when the whole ost is a banger
I've always loved the world revolving for sounding playful but also sorrowful and like you said, almost nostalgic. It fits the character it relates to perfectly.
Oh I am so hyped for this- don't get me wrong, I adore the Undertale soundtrack, it means so much to me personally, but so many of the songs in the Deltarune soundtrack top those of the Undertale soundtrack in my opinion. They are all such absolute bangers, I bop to them all the time XD The one shame about the format of these reactions is you don't get to notice all of the motif mixing from earlier songs into later songs, but I still love the reactions! Deltarune is full not only of Undertale song references in it's soundtrack, but also, just like Undertale, repeats many of it's own motifs in clever ways. Big Shot especially is full of references to previous songs in the soundtrack as well as Undertale songs! I won't delve into the whole list and all the symbolism or anything, but it's super fun to look into if you have the time once you've listened to more of each soundtrack! Every song has some element of another song in it, somewhere, to some degree. Gosh you really listened to some of the best, Rude Buster, Big Shot, Attack of The Killer Queen (probably my personal fav, but that's a really tough choice so I'm not sure, haha). Can't wait for more!
Yesss, Deltarune OST time!! Here's a couple tracks I'd love to see in the next one of these (I'd call them must-haves but honestly they're all must-haves, as is playing the game for full context and maximum emotional resonance :D). Love seeing you bop along to all of these bangers, the Toby Fox groove is irresistible and it's so fun watching someone else get addicted in real time ^^ Anyway! Deltarune CH1: - Lancer - Checker Dance - Scarlet Forest (underrated banger in my opinion) - Vs. Susie Deltarune CH2: - A CYBER'S WORLD? - Smart Race - Pandora Palace - Knock You Down!!
Deltarune is alsuch a fantastic game and the soundtrack is great. I stumbled upon an orchestral version and fell in love! Kinda sad we didnt get to see your reaction to The Holy. It's my favorite and even a piece I used in my DnD campaign! Love the videos! Keep it up!
For for Undertale, you might know that the base motif for the soundtrack is Once Upon a Time/His Theme. Deltarune too has a motif that carries out through the soundtrack, which I think results in Don't Forget. Some people have already recommended that song, so it's fairly likely you'll be hearing it soon. But there are a lot of songs in Deltarune that relate directly to others, outside of the main motif. For example, you'll probably notice that Smart Race makes reference to Attack of the Killer Queen. And since you listened to the battle theme, you might want to take a listen to Queen. Personally, I'd also recommend checking out The Legend and Beginning. They're good songs to be starting Deltarune with.
9:25 - I could be wrong, but I think that "medieval style / banging some strings" musical instrument you don't know the name of is called the Harpsichord. Also: I absolutely love seeing you react to these Matthew. :D If you ever do another Deltarune episode then please be sure to react to the song "A Cyber's World".
I love the music of Deltarune so much!! Toby got some help from Lena Raine this time in composing a few songs. She helped composed Attack of the Killer Queen. More songs I would recommend from Deltarune: - My Castle Town - Cyber's World - Lost Girl - Chaos King - Pandora Palace - Checker Dance - Lancer - Vs. Susie
I wanna recommend Smart Race and It's Pronounced "Rules" from the second chapter, and, while I'm at it, might as well listen to Pandora Palace. If you want something that would stand out from the OST, might I suggest Dialtone?
You said Big Shot reminded you of Mission Impossible, and there's a reason! The melody in the beginning is almost exactly like the melody of MI, except not in 5/4 of course!
Some of my favorites that I think you'd enjoy are Lancer, Lantern, Don't Forget, The Legend, A Cyber's World, Berdley, Pandora Palace, Welcome to the City, and Until Next Time!
My own suggestions for a potential second video: If you include "Don't Forget", be sure to place it closer to the end of a video; it'll fit more there! Also lovely songs that I highly recommend: A Cyber's World, Scarlet Forest, My Castle Town, Lancer, Girl Next Door, Berdly & Smart Race (two songs that go together), Vs. Susie, Pandora Palace, and Welcome to the City!
Again, one thing to keep in mind about all of these songs is that they're designed to loop, so all of those abrupt endings immediately flow back into the beginning of the song and keep the momentum.
so there’s something about toby fox i adore is his utilization of leitmotiffs you can find bits of “world revolving” in “bigshot”, and from undertale’s “mad dummy” is those chippier bits that caught you off guard near the end of “bigshot”. leitmotifs are used to make these soundtracks cohesive and also tell things about characters and just. i adore his work he is so fucking talented
Recommending ¨Omori's¨ soundtrack (In case you haven't heard it) It has great music! I leave my grain of sand in this comment in the hope that you will read it.
You should listen to the Hollow Knight sound track, it's BEAUTIFUL! My favourites from Hollow Knight have to be: - Sealed Vessel - White Palace - City Of Tears - Reflection - Mantis Lords And of course, the main theme itself, Hollow Knight I really hope you listen to it someday as Hollow Knight genuinely has to be my favourite game, it's challenging but enjoyable!!
I'm so glad you mentioned reflection, I find that track severely underrated My top 5 tracks would probably be 1. Nightmare King 2. Reflection 3. Daughter of Hallownest 4. Queens Gardens 5. The Grimm Troupe
Another good song to listen to from Deltarune is "A CYBER'S WORLD?" as it sounds so good. Scarlet Forest also is a good one to listen to. Love these videos, keep it up!
I've asked before, but i'd LOVE to see you listen to some music from the Halo series! The main theme is obviously super iconic, but I feel like it's overshadowed other equally amazing tracks the franchise has, which covers a pretty wide range of styles and genres. 5 tracks i'd recommend would be a version of the main theme itself (Either "MJOLNIR Mix" or "One Final Effort") alongside "Deference for Darkness: Rain" (THE best track in the series IMO, and not what people think of as "Halo") "In Amber Clad", "Under Cover of Night" (CE version, but the "all versions" upload has the best audio quality, just listen to the first 3 1/2 mins), and then either "Heavy Price Paid" or "Reclaimer", depending on if you want a gorgeous somber piece or something to rock your socks off.
Heya! I love your reactions! I also reccomend a few more songs from the Deltarune OST... *Don't Forget *Scarlet Forest (one of the most underrated tracks in my opinion) *The Legend *Smart Race *My Castle Town And in the Undertale OST, I reccomend *Finale *Long Elevator (best track in the game) I'd also love to watch a playthrough of both games!
I am so glad you’re listening to deltarune stuff now, if you do a part 2 you should absolutely listen to some of the more emotional tracks like “My Castle Town” and “Lost Girl”
So keep in mind, a lot of the songs that stop abruptly are written that way so they can be looped during game play. You'll hear that in a lot of game osts.
Okay so the song “Big Shot” is the boss theme for the secret final boss of chapter 2, and the song after that is the earlier version of that song when you fight the same character earlier in the story
Really love how he got BIG SHOT followed by ‘Now’s your chance to be a’ because the same character has both themes and they commonly say ‘Now’s your chance to be a BIG SHOT!’
I just wanna say these videos bring me so much joy. I’m autistic, and Undertale and Deltarune are some of my main interests right now. Music is also something I LOVE and seeing your reactions just makes me really happy aaaaaaaa 😭😭😭
Surprised you didn’t pick up on sounds from Mettatons music being used in Big Shot The deeper almost gasp sounding instruments from Mad Dummy, Ghost Tune playing in that “Weird little run” the big beats from Power of NEO, the little bits of piano in Mad Dummy/Mad MewMew and Napstablooks music Also a very different feel from Deltarune and Undertale, but I highly suggest listening to Hollow Knights music
Definitely do more Deltarune. Some more to check out are: Don't Forget The Legend A CYBER'S WORLD? Knock You Down ! Smart Race Vs. Susie Dogtarune / Dogcheck
1:06 : chapter 1 battle them 3:17 : big shot; chapter two secret boss [[spamton]] 6:17 : [[worlds #1 greatest salesmen]]; spamton g spamton them 8:01 : the queens them 11:13 : field of hopes and dreams; that one them that reminds me of ralsei 13:25 : chaos chaos; chapter one secret boss (jevil)
Something you really need to remember about these songs is that for like 99% of them they’re meant loop so they feel short that’s why and the ends of the songs have to set up to get back to the beginning
I made a comment like this on the other channel but I figured I'd leave one here too since this is actually the channel where you react to stuff, Another game with a really great OST is Night in The Woods. The songs I can remember people really liking are Dusk Stars, Die Anywhere Else, and all of the Astral tracks (Astral Train and Astral Coal being my favorites, but Astral Alley being by far the most popular. And the build-up versions are by far the best way to experience the Astral songs as that's how they're experienced in-game). If I remember any other really good songs (or if someone replies with more) I might edit this Edit: other song suggestions from the replies (and a personal favorite)! Weird Autumn, Pumpkin Head Guy, Snowfield, Home Again, Fireflies on the Porch, Playground, Lori M., Church Hill, Angus' Story, Witch Dagger, Churcg of the First Coalescence, Rainy Day, The Husker Bee Ballroom
@@oriocookie-12 weird autumn's my favorite! But die anywhere else is the most popular so i figured if i would include any of them, that would probably be the easiest
First off, it's amazing to see NitW still being talked about! I only got to it about a year ago but I have loved it. I still gotta to re-play it too see what i have missed. Snowfield (from Lost Constellation), Home Again, Fireflies in the Porch, Playground, Lori M., Church Hill, Angus' Story, Witch Dagger, Church of the First Coalescence, and Rainy Day are some of my favorite tracks! You guys have already mentioned some I like too... Also I love all town themes but if I continue I might type the whole OST. There are so many great songs lol
These songs only end so suddenly because they usually repeat throughout the scenario in which they play. Put something like Killer Queen on repeat and it will transition so much smoother.
The deltarune ost SLAPS, it's so good. Also yeahhh so glad to hear you're going to play through Undertale eventually! I remember a while back I watched the couple videos of it you already have and wondered if you'd ever play the rest. I'm so hyped! Music aside, I have a feeling you'll LOVE it
hey! totally unrelated but do you remember that time you uploaded steven universe videos? well, in one of those videos, you mentioned that one of your favorite tv shows of all time was Bojack Horseman. I've heard of it once or twice before and after hearing what you said, I decided to finally check it out. i actually just finished the finale a couple minutes ago and i have to say, it truly is an amazing show. i guess i just wanted to thank you for introducing me to it and it would be nice to hear about other shows you love (assuming you're reading this comment, which i really hope you are). anyway, i guess that's all i wanted to say. thank you, and keep making great videos!! (just commenting this again from your previous video in case you missed it)
Hey! I actually did see when you commented it on my last video, I meant to reply to it but I wanted to give it a proper response instead of a rush one! Then it just slipped my mind haha. I'm super glad that you enjoyed it! I think it's one of the best shows that exists to be honest, the way it deals with so many complex topics is phenomenal to me. If you haven't watched it already, I'd also suggest The Good Place - it's a little bit more silly but it also has deep philosophical discussions that are fantastic to me. For a bit of a wildcard show, if you're wanting something in the comedy vein, I also love It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - it explores tense (often political) topics through the lens of awful people, similarly to how Bojack does but it's a lot more fatuous about it. Thanks for the lovely comment! I'm so happy you liked it. P.S. I'm gonna be getting a Bojack tattoo at some point soon, of him and Sarah Lynn in the planetarium haha
@@MathewMcKenna thank you for the suggestions!! i really appreciate it and i will definitely check them all out. also the bojack and sarah lynn tattoo sounds like a great idea! can't wait to see it in video one day :D
A fun detail about big shot, the second song you listened to: it has leitmotifs and melodies from Undertale and Chapter one! The World Revolving, Dummy!!, and Power of Neo have melodies in that song.
Ahhh I'm really hyped for this, the Deltarune OST is soo good, and you can really feel the development in Toby's style and skill, it's masterful! I do hope you get to more subtle tracks, while the bangers hit nice, I think emotion and emersive ambient is the highlight of this OST, it's ability to create various moods and feelings.
In case you do a second one, I recommend you give a listen to 'Scarlet Forest'. Also, in the following order, 'Lancer', 'The Legend', 'Card Castle' and 'Chaos King' (order matters because of the Leitmotifs) 'Checker dance' and 'vs. Susie' are also great. I hope this isn't too overwhelming of a request, it's just that Toby gets better and better at creating songs, the more time passes, and he was already amazingly talented when he made Undertale. I could literally tell you to react to the entirety of the Deltarune ost, because it's just that good.
If you were to do another one of these I’d really recommend Queen, A Cybers World and Don’t Forget, the latter of which is actually the leitmotif that can be heard in a lot of other songs
Great video! I’ve been really hoping you checked out this OST, it’s one of my favorite game tracks of all time. Good luck with the second channel, looking forward to that.
I love this reaction, might i recommend a few of my favorites: Pandora palace Acid tunnel of love (has a nice air-y tone to it) And jte pronounced "Rules"
9:24 is the medieval banging-strings instrument sound mentioned maybe harpsichord? Either way, a regal sounding instrument definitely fits for a song titled about a killer Queen haha!
If you do another Deltarune video, I would love if you listened to Until Next Time! It's really different to the usual sound, but is my personal favorite of the OST.
Deltarune is only loosely related to Undertale from what we know so far. The only confirmed connections it has to Undertale are the characters, a similar battle system, and the developers. It is important to note that Deltarune isn't finished yet. There's going to be 7 chapters, with the first 2 released within the past few years. The first 2 are completely free to play, and are considered the demo I think.
I recommend the song “Spamton” as it is used before “NOWS YOUR CHANCE TO BE A.” It’s a more chill song of said song. “Deal Gone Wrong” and “Call for Help” are another ‘Spamton’ like songs, slowed down (and are like ‘before boss fight’ song). “Circus” would be used before “THE WORLD REVOLVING” as a ‘before boss fight’ song
A good duo I'd also recommend is Darkness Falls and Faint Courage (in that order). They're the respective game over themes from each chapter and faint Courage is clearly a continuation of darkness falls.
If you do make another deltarune video, I would recommend “knock you down!”. It’s a pretty underrated song, but in my opinion it’s a perfect showcase of Toby’s musical genius.
Yesss! I'm so happy you listened to some of it! I love "Now's your chance to be a" so much. I listened to hour long loops of it. Listening to it while working on something or cleaning just gives me a lot of energy smh hahah!
I love all of the song choices for this reaction, but at the same time there are so many MORE that I also love! I can only hope we get another video like this maybe reacting to some more of my (and many other peoples’) favorite songs like *Chaos King, VS Susie, Castle Town, Don’t Forget, and Smart Race* (following Smart Race with Bluebird of Misfortune would be a doozy because of their very different tones but shared motifs, kind of like listening to Now’s Your Chance To Be A and Big Shot back to back) (idk how popular Bluebird of Misfortune is but I suspect it’s super underrated because it’s super short and not as energetic, but for me it’s definitely on the list of my favorites for the pure emotion it evokes, even if you don’t like the character it accompanies).
Have you ever heard of the band “young rising sons?” If not, I think you should totally react to them! I just recently started listening to their songs on Spotify and fell in love!!! Not to mention that they’re SUPER underrated!!!
Once again Toby's songs really hit. Here's some more from Deltarune that I'd recommend! 1) Beginning 2) The Legend 3) Scarlet Forest 4) Chaos King 5) Darkness Falls 6) Friendship 7) Don't Forget 8) A CYBER'S WORLD? (This one is literally one of my favorites) 9) Smart Race 10) WELCOME TO THE CITY
It's weird to think that there's only two chapters released and there's going to be seven chapters all together. Also please react to don't forget, is one of my favorites!
4:41 the whispering is actually subject to much debate, people have tried to isolate and interpret it. People have mostly come to the consensus that it’s: “I think he’s coming for me, answer the phone I can’t explain until you’re all alone It pulls the strings and makes them ring Until your heart starts to break up I think he’s coming for me, answer the phone I can’t explain until you’re all alone It pulls the strings and- Pulls the strings and- Tell me what, you Big Shot!” Although many people disagree with this. The line “until your heart starts to break up” is particularly contentions, with that being my interpretation, but if you asked 100 people you’d get 100 different answers.
if you ever do a part two heres some requests, mostly some ofmy favs within the soundtrack WELCOME TO THE CITY, a cyber's world?, smart race, and by biggest request ever has to be You Can Always Come Home- especially if you want some emotions. Out of all the songs i'd recoment You Can Always Come Home the most.
If you were to cover deltarune again, I think a really underrated track is "dog check". It only appears in the game if you have a corrupt save, yet it's one of the most beautiful songs in both undertale or deltarune
It's so fun to see you guessing what's happening in the game based on your feelings with the music. You are right most of the time! It would be great to see you playing the game so you could get those feelings amplified. From Deltarune, I also recommend: Chaos King, Pandora Palace, Don't Forget, Friendship, A Cyber's World and Vs Susie. The whole OST is amazing but these stand out.
The man's done it again! Glad you moved on to Deltarune now, some of my all time favorite Toby songs are here! ^^ DR's ost is much more unique and there's definitely a huge improvement in Toby's skills. He's still keeping the leitmotif referencing between songs, especially one main one, but hopefully you can pick that up yourself later lol. Also, there are some Undertale ost references!! It's most noticable in Big Shot, but maybe you'll listen to some others with it.. Here's some of my picks for a future reaction :D *Deltarune Chapter 1 OST:* - Lancer - Checker Dance - Vs. Susie - Hip Shop - Chaos King - Before the Story *Deltarune Chapter 2 OST:* - My Castle Town - A CYBER'S WORLD? (Toby collabed w/Lena Raine!) - Smart Race - Faint Courage - Pandora Palace - Lost Girl - Knock You Down
one song i'd recommend is "Don't Forget" the motif in that song is used for a pretty big chunk of DELTARUNES OST, Similar to undertales "Once Upon a Time"
Thanks for being here y'all! I know you have been asking for this video a LOT! Btw, after your Undertale playthrough, try deltarune (its free)
Since you like Toby Fox’s music so much, try checking out the Stardew Valley ost! They have pretty similar vibes
And maybe Helltaker fan songs?
I've played quite a bit of Stardew Valley haha - very easy for me to sink time into it
Maybe you should react to the Omori ost. It's a really great game and the ost for it is amazing.
If you ever finish Undertale, I'm gonna be BEGGING. On my KNEES. That you play Deltarune, it's so charming and the characters are really funny, modern, while also sticking to the charm of Undertale.
I love your pfp!
@@o_r_c4141 tysm !!

I SECOND THIS ‼️‼️‼️
YES
Fun fact: Several Deltarune songs use leitmotifs from Undertale OST, "Rude Buster" uses "Determination"; "BIG SHOT" has "Dummy!" and "Power of NEO" as well as other Deltarune song "The World Revolving"
yo yo yo hosh's here😛
i dont hear the rude buster using determination part
@@hoshidori5869 ????????
The fandom calls the "The World Revolving" leitmotif the "Freedom" leitmotif due to the flavor text that says "The air crackles with freedom." in both fights with Spamton Neo and Jevil.
I think “Imminent Death” uses “Your Best Nightmare”
It also sound like “Giga Size” uses “Burn in Despair” and “Knock You Down” uses “Stronger Monsters”
"Don't Forget" is one of the best tracks in the game, quite possibly *the best*. If you do this again, you should really include that one.
Yess and A cyber's world
And the last queen fight is a great one too
vouch
It's just too bad it's so short. Hopefully we'll get a full version by the time the game is finished.
oh its also incorporated into like 80% of the ost so its cool to be able to recognize it
I think “Nows your chance to be a” and “Big Shot” are the first good example you’ve had of Toby’s reusing musical themes. Big Shot in particular has throwbacks to like, five different songs. And it’s not just a mashup, each song and the characters or scenes it’s used for relates to that theme. It’s crazy stuff and I know once you get into it you’re gonna love it.
Aaand I should finish the video before commenting! “Big Shot” also uses a lot of the same melodies a “The World Revolving” and there are good reasons for it
@@SeanIanJacobson01 that damned CLOWN AROUND TOWN...
You've listened to some of the fan favorites, but that's still lots of good ones from this game, here are some I recommend:
-Don't Forget (this one I think would be best to end the video with)
-Chaos King
-VS Susie
-Darkness Falls
-A Cyber's World
-Knock You Down
-Lost Girl
-Smart Race
-Welcome to the City (ALT)
-Scarlet Forest

Agreed
First time I heard the drop in A Cybers World my soul genuinely left my body
Sat there slack jawed like holy fucking shit that’s epic
You're always tortured by the fact these tracks are designed to loop to complete their final notes.
That’s why I love video game music, you can listen to it so many times because it’s designed in such a way
You've listened to some of the more popular deltarune songs already, but there's still PLENTY that are amazing, here's some examples.
- A CYBERS WORLD (its just so fun, I always want to dance to it, it's got that cyber feel to it too)
- Giga size (epic. sounds like a more dark/evil version of "attack of the killer queen")
- Knock You Down !! (it's just so fun!! ah it just scratches my brain the right way)
- Deal gone wrong (creepy, slow and sort of distorted. sounds kind of like something going really wrong... its similair to BIG SHOT and actually plays right before it in the game)
- Scarlet Forest (this one is just fun to listen to, it's kinda calm)
- Vs. Susie (ahh this one is so cool and epic!! I recommend this one. the character to which this song plays to is badass af)
- The Circus (sounds exactly like the title. pretty creepy, kind of. and very clown-ish ;D)
- Don't forget (I recommend listening to this one last, as it's a beautiful way to end the video :))
- The Dark Truth (creepy... and sort of sad? it's dark, and sort of shows the creepier side of the whole story in deltarune)
These are just some examples! :)
also the reason why the songs end so abruptly is because they loop in the game!

I think the full 4 hours is absolutely worth it but also I can completely understand if that's too long XD

The vocals in Don’t Forget/Untill Next Time are by Laura Shigihara, who is known for creating the entire soundtrack for the original Plants vs Zombies, and finally
Fanfare is from Rose of Winter, who the writer and creative director of, Magnolia Porter, is listed in Undertale’s credits as assistant monster designer.
I recommend “It’s Pronounced Rules”, since it’s really underrated and I don’t think a lot of people will recommend it.

so, for context
"Rude buster" is Deltarune's "normal enemy battle" theme.
If you listen closely, you can also hear the themes Dummy! from Undertale, Power of "NEO" from Undertale and A world revolving from Deltarune
"Now's your chance to be a" is Spamton's normal battle theme. so yes, Big shot is his secondairy boss theme.
"The world revolving" is the main these of chapter one's secret boss
Chapter 1 and 2 are also set in different settings, with chapter 1 being based on board games and chapter 2 being based on computers.

Well, spamton neo can be fought in two different places.
"The World Revolving" has to be one of my favorites. It sounds playful and fast paced, but there's this sad and desperate undertone. A wild, wacky ride to escape from reality.
The desperation can really be felt near the end of the song when the same melody keeps playing and playing before being cut off.
"I was expecting a sustained note"
As with most tracks in Undertale/Deltarune, the cutoff is for the song to loop, but the loop usually feels pretty natural.
With this one? It feels more like the melody forgot itself after repeating for so long.
The World Revolving is for the Secret Boss of Chapter 1. So an air of finality does fit it.
As someone who beat Sans in Undertale and went into the Jevil fight pretty confident (before getting my ass handed to me), I can assure there was an air of finality.
I'm still having nightmares....
@@mchsprod wait, seriously? Jevil did give me trouble, more than Spamton even in Snowgrave in fact, but I never managed to beat even just Undyne the Undying, let alone Sans. I don't think he's in the same league.
@@HaganeNoGijutsushi no Jevil kicked my ass, but I should've made the joke more clear
The punchline was that my life had a sense of finality to it because yea, but I assumed people would infer it from the vauge comment I made that was more bragging than joking
@@mchsprod yeah, I just took it as you saying it turned out to be a harder fight than Sans, so I wondered.
You mentioned you weren't sure what kind of instrument was being used or implied at 9:27, I believe it's a harpsichord! Which is a very medieval style of instrument, so you're spot on in that regard.

Oh I am so hyped for this- don't get me wrong, I adore the Undertale soundtrack, it means so much to me personally, but so many of the songs in the Deltarune soundtrack top those of the Undertale soundtrack in my opinion. They are all such absolute bangers, I bop to them all the time XD
The one shame about the format of these reactions is you don't get to notice all of the motif mixing from earlier songs into later songs, but I still love the reactions!
Love seeing you bop along to all of these bangers, the Toby Fox groove is irresistible and it's so fun watching someone else get addicted in real time ^^
Anyway!
Deltarune CH1:
- Lancer
- Checker Dance
- Scarlet Forest (underrated banger in my opinion)
- Vs. Susie
Deltarune CH2:

- Smart Race
- Pandora Palace
- Knock You Down!!

Scarlet Forest is really underrated and i finally see someone talking about it. (It's actually my favorite so)

His theme and memory use the same rhythm with different instruments, don't they?
9:25 - I could be wrong, but I think that "medieval style / banging some strings" musical instrument you don't know the name of is called the Harpsichord.
Also: I absolutely love seeing you react to these Matthew. :D If you ever do another Deltarune episode then please be sure to react to the song "A Cyber's World".
I love the music of Deltarune so much!! Toby got some help from Lena Raine this time in composing a few songs. She helped composed Attack of the Killer Queen.
More songs I would recommend from Deltarune:
- My Castle Town
- Cyber's World
- Lost Girl
- Chaos King
- Pandora Palace
- Checker Dance
- Lancer
- Vs. Susie
I wanna recommend Smart Race and It's Pronounced "Rules" from the second chapter, and, while I'm at it, might as well listen to Pandora Palace.
If you want something that would stand out from the OST, might I suggest Dialtone?
Smart race is so good!!!!
@@FeligamiAdrizoeSworaDooplivian Berdly couldn’t have gotten a better theme and I love it !
omg I love "It's Pronounced Rules" prolly cuz I absolutely admire Rouxls Kaard
Also, fantastic reaction! The way you pay attention to layering and explain them in these kinds of songs is so relatable to watch.
Again, one thing to keep in mind about all of these songs is that they're designed to loop, so all of those abrupt endings immediately flow back into the beginning of the song and keep the momentum.
so there’s something about toby fox i adore is his utilization of leitmotiffs
you can find bits of “world revolving” in “bigshot”, and from undertale’s “mad dummy” is those chippier bits that caught you off guard near the end of “bigshot”. leitmotifs are used to make these soundtracks cohesive and also tell things about characters and just. i adore his work he is so fucking talented
Recommending ¨Omori's¨ soundtrack (In case you haven't heard it) It has great music! I leave my grain of sand in this comment in the hope that you will read it.
You should listen to the Hollow Knight sound track, it's BEAUTIFUL!
My favourites from Hollow Knight have to be:
- Sealed Vessel
- White Palace
- City Of Tears
- Reflection
- Mantis Lords
And of course, the main theme itself, Hollow Knight
I really hope you listen to it someday as Hollow Knight genuinely has to be my favourite game, it's challenging but enjoyable!!
Yo! I love that game too! I just gotta clear pantheon 5!
I'm so glad you mentioned reflection, I find that track severely underrated
My top 5 tracks would probably be
1. Nightmare King
2. Reflection
3. Daughter of Hallownest
4. Queens Gardens
5. The Grimm Troupe
yes also nosk and broken vessel are good
I feel so hurt that nobody mentioned…Dung Defender.
Come on, it seems like it’s underrated…
Another good song to listen to from Deltarune is "A CYBER'S WORLD?" as it sounds so good. Scarlet Forest also is a good one to listen to. Love these videos, keep it up!
Unpopular opinion: "A cyber's world" isn't good
I've asked before, but i'd LOVE to see you listen to some music from the Halo series!
If you do another Deltarune OST reaction, I absolutely HAVE to recommend the songs "Darkness Falls" and "Faint Courage." They're SO underrated
Heya! I love your reactions!
I also reccomend a few more songs from the Deltarune OST...
*Don't Forget
*Scarlet Forest (one of the most underrated tracks in my opinion)
*The Legend
*Smart Race
*My Castle Town
And in the Undertale OST, I reccomend
*Finale
*Long Elevator (best track in the game)
I'd also love to watch a playthrough of both games!
Deltarune has great music. Two of my favorites are You Can Always Come Home and A Cyber World.
11:19 when he said "it's getting a bit cleaner and less filtered" I was Like "OOOOOOOHHHH IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE LOLL"
I just wanna say these videos bring me so much joy. I’m autistic, and Undertale and Deltarune are some of my main interests right now. Music is also something I LOVE and seeing your reactions just makes me really happy aaaaaaaa 😭😭😭
EEEEE SAME THATS WHY IM HERE
Surprised you didn’t pick up on sounds from Mettatons music being used in Big Shot
The deeper almost gasp sounding instruments from Mad Dummy, Ghost Tune playing in that “Weird little run” the big beats from Power of NEO, the little bits of piano in Mad Dummy/Mad MewMew and Napstablooks music
Also a very different feel from Deltarune and Undertale, but I highly suggest listening to Hollow Knights music
Definitely do more Deltarune. Some more to check out are:

Something you really need to remember about these songs is that for like 99% of them they’re meant loop so they feel short that’s why and the ends of the songs have to set up to get back to the beginning
I made a comment like this on the other channel but I figured I'd leave one here too since this is actually the channel where you react to stuff,
Another game with a really great OST is Night in The Woods. If I remember any other really good songs (or if someone replies with more) I might edit this
Edit: other song suggestions from the replies (and a personal favorite)!
Weird Autumn, Pumpkin Head Guy, Snowfield, Home Again, Fireflies on the Porch, Playground, Lori M., Church Hill, Angus' Story, Witch Dagger, Churcg of the First Coalescence, Rainy Day, The Husker Bee Ballroom

"Deltarune"
Mat:that's a weird way to spell undertale
You need to listen to "A CYBERS WOLRD" and "Dont forget" these are Deltarune Soundtracks too
A fun detail about big shot, the second song you listened to: it has leitmotifs and melodies from Undertale and Chapter one!
Also, in the following order, 'Lancer', 'The Legend', 'Card Castle' and 'Chaos King' (order matters because of the Leitmotifs)
'Checker dance' and 'vs. Susie' are also great. I hope this isn't too overwhelming of a request, it's just that Toby gets better and better at creating songs, the more time passes, and he was already amazingly talented when he made Undertale. I could literally tell you to react to the entirety of the Deltarune ost, because it's just that good.
9:23 i _think_ the instrument he's referring to is the harpsichord which i also absolutely love the sound of
If you were to do another one of these I’d really recommend Queen, A Cybers World and Don’t Forget, the latter of which is actually the leitmotif that can be heard in a lot of other songs
Great video! I’ve been really hoping you checked out this OST, it’s one of my favorite game tracks of all time. Good luck with the second channel, looking forward to that.
I love this reaction, might i recommend a few of my favorites:
Pandora palace
Acid tunnel of love (has a nice air-y tone to it)
And jte pronounced "Rules"
9:24 is the medieval banging-strings instrument sound mentioned maybe harpsichord? Either way, a regal sounding instrument definitely fits for a song titled about a killer Queen haha!
Harpsichord was the word that kept jumping out to me but I didn't wanna sound stupid so I didn't put it in the video LOL
If you do another Deltarune video, I would love if you listened to Until Next Time! It's really different to the usual sound, but is my personal favorite of the OST.
“Knock you Down” is a very good one that I absolutely love.
The first 2 are completely free to play, and are considered the demo I think.
this is the first time I've noticed that Attack of the Killer Queen has Smart Race's motif in it because Berdly is there
world revolving by itself is pretty good, but with the context it is AMAZING
I recommend the song “Spamton” as it is used before “NOWS YOUR CHANCE TO BE A.” It’s a more chill song of said song. “Deal Gone Wrong” and “Call for Help” are another ‘Spamton’ like songs, slowed down (and are like ‘before boss fight’ song).
“Circus” would be used before “THE WORLD REVOLVING” as a ‘before boss fight’ song
5:30 SPAMTON G SPAMTON SALESMAN OF THE YEAR (cca. 1997)
@@ele_abnormal you... you get it
@@PeoplecallmeLucifer Amogus
A good duo I'd also recommend is Darkness Falls and Faint Courage (in that order). They're the respective game over themes from each chapter and faint Courage is clearly a continuation of darkness falls.
For deltarune songs, some interesting ones you could listen to would be “Berdly” , “Pandora Palace” , “Chaos King” , and “Don’t Forget” !
If you do make another deltarune video, I would recommend “knock you down!”. It’s a pretty underrated song, but in my opinion it’s a perfect showcase of Toby’s musical genius.
when you make a part 2 i need you to listen to "cybers world" and "with you in the dark" they are 2 great songs from deltarune.
Yesss! I'm so happy you listened to some of it!
I love "Now's your chance to be a" so much. I listened to hour long loops of it. Listening to it while working on something or cleaning just gives me a lot of energy smh hahah!
You definitely need to listen to “a cyber word?” It’s my all time favorite out of the two chapters of Deltarune!
My favorite deltarune piece of chapter 2 is either Berdly, Smart race or attack of the killer Queen.
1) Beginning
2) The Legend
3) Scarlet Forest
4) Chaos King
5) Darkness Falls
6) Friendship
7) Don't Forget
8) A CYBER'S WORLD? (This one is literally one of my favorites)
9) Smart Race
10) WELCOME TO THE CITY
It's weird to think that there's only two chapters released and there's going to be seven chapters all together. Also please react to don't forget, is one of my favorites!
Some context, BIG SHOT and The World Revolving are both their respective chapter superboss themes.
Next Deltarune music reaction you have to include "Don't Forget"
Yesss, I was waiting haha
And also Cybercity
4:41 the whispering is actually subject to much debate, people have tried to isolate and interpret it. People have mostly come to the consensus that it’s:
“I think he’s coming for me, answer the phone
I can’t explain until you’re all alone
It pulls the strings and makes them ring
Until your heart starts to break up
I think he’s coming for me, answer the phone
I can’t explain until you’re all alone
It pulls the strings and-
Pulls the strings and-
Tell me what, you Big Shot!”
Although many people disagree with this. The line “until your heart starts to break up” is particularly contentions, with that being my interpretation, but if you asked 100 people you’d get 100 different answers.
if you ever do a part two heres some requests, mostly some ofmy favs within the soundtrack
WELCOME TO THE CITY, a cyber's world?, smart race, and by biggest request ever has to be You Can Always Come Home- especially if you want some emotions. Out of all the songs i'd recoment You Can Always Come Home the most.
This was really cool, I like seeing your reactions to one of my favourite osts. Might I suggest lancer’s theme? It is a complete bop.
I’d love to see the OSTs of either Hollow Knight or Celeste! They’re both incredible games with incredible music
him listening to "big shot" and "nows your chance to be a" out of order is funny
The whole OST is amazing but these stand out.
lmao he definetely experienced the UTTER CHAOS, CHAOS!! of World Revolving 💀
Fun fact: BIG SHOT was actually going to be longer because in the game files it is named as being "wip"
Here's some of my picks for a future reaction :D
*Deltarune Chapter 1 OST:*
- Lancer
- Checker Dance
- Vs. Susie
- Hip Shop
- Chaos King
- Before the Story
*Deltarune Chapter 2 OST:*
- My Castle Town
- A CYBER'S WORLD? (Toby collabed w/Lena Raine!)
- Smart Race
- Faint Courage
- Pandora Palace
- Lost Girl
- Knock You Down
one song i'd recommend is "Don't Forget"
the motif in that song is used for a pretty big chunk of DELTARUNES OST,
Similar to undertales "Once Upon a Time"
The reason the songs randomly end is because they are created to loop ingame
When Field of hopes and dreams came up to be honest I teared up. "Don't forget" .
