3D Maxpiders are what I've landed on in mine. I ran Tuxmats prior but they actually cover up too much red. I wanted a little bit to show through while still having full protection. The 3D coverage is very similar to Lasfit but I much prefer the material and appearance. How you're still running the stock shift knob is wild. I suggest the Hybrid delrin Chicane knob.
I had PS4 on the FL5 up until the latest NYC snow storm and it felt like i was ice skating. This was before the snow fall in 17 degree weather. I know there's a debate between All Season tires, winter tires and summer but lol economically I picked the All Seasons.
Yeah I'm sure ice cold in the snow might not be ideal. However on my old GTR I drove through 3in of snow on the PS4S and it handled it very well. I'm sure AWD helps a ton. I bet a nice set of true winter tires would go a long way for the Type-R
Never really thought of that. But I’ll just deal with the cold shifter lol. It’s tolerable. I have seen those little hoodies that you can get for the shift knob. Could be a good solution
Do you ever go to any local Cars and Coffee? I’ll be picking up my Type R from Flow Honda of Statesville the first week of February and want to attend some.
Drives great with a set of 18” wheels with continental dws. Even in a few inches of snow. However I probably won’t drive it anymore in the snow. Salt is nasty.
I drive my 25 Type R in Michigan on Konig Diverge 18" with Continental Viking Contact 7, and it's really makes a difference, especially in snow. Also, I love my Lasfit all-weather mats they fit the car perfectly 😊.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed in Germany the problem for the Type R is that you can get a Golf GTI 265 HP for 10k less or the amazing Hyundai i30 N 280 HP for 25k less.
I daily mine in Michigan winters. we've had about 8 inches of snow where i live in the last week and its fine. The car in general cant handle deep snow cause it wants to beach itself lol. The caveat obviously is that im not using the summer tires it came with. But im not using winters either. I use continental DSW06 plus all seasons in 265/30R19 stock tire configuration, and i use those all the time. Fine or good winter performance (not great) and fine or good summer performance (again, not great).
Not gonna be the same experience in Ohio I just bought a crv for a 2nd car my type-r wasn't good in the snow with allseason tires and btw your VSA WILL KICK IN , IN THE SNOW ON A STRAIGHT its no fun when the computer thinks your going around a turn and grabs one of your rear brakes in the snow this happened to me at a low speed luckily and I did get completely sideways
For me it has been an amazing all around car. Can you you have fun in the snow? Sure, is it really fun? Ehhhh there's no manual handbrake so most people find the car boring although I consider it to be fun. The car is more safe than it is about sliding around especially with the traction control on. When I first got the car you wouldnt believe how many people told me the car would do terrible in the snow and that I should have kept my other car. For me though its a complete waste of money to be paying off my FL5 all year round and not enjoying it, not to mention its more fun and comfortable than all my previous 2005 or older cars lol
Oh cool. Yeah I think overall it's a fine snow car for safety and use. Just won't get too much extra fun out of it being FWD and electric parking break. But at least it's a usable car year round!
@ I got the tuxmat ones & they have full coverage, compared to lasfit, lasfit has that regular hard plastic but the tuxmat is a high quality rubber material.

That's cool looking. I do love the style of the factory one tho

DWS06+ is my recommendation.
@ they’re so good. Just put on a brand new set Monday.
why do you not do a towel on the gear stick when you go out of the car?

With this snow that just went out can you do a video detailing the type r inside and out ?
Yeah could be cool. I just wash my cars like normal tho

Oh sweet! Concord has one every month. Planning to go to theirs in Feb!

@@CTR-Keith for sure!

Oh nice! Yeah the salt portion would be the biggest drawback of driving a nice car in the snow
Snow is great, salt sucks. I'm right there with you - 255/40R18 DWS06+
No charge for the Lasfit floor mat idea. LoL joking.......though I did mention it a few days ago...
Yeah they were already on the way lol

for sure this is the best compact Performance FWD Hatchback of the World, unfortunately it cost over 60k in Germany, very rare car here 😅. Thanks 😀
Yeah not much can keep up with the TypeR when looking at FWD cars!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I think only the FWD Hyundai Elantra N is close to it for 10k less.

@@alengreen589 yeah hopefully I can check one out soon
@@alengreen589 the GTI is a step below the TypeR tho. Golf R is the one that’s on par with performance

I live in PA,and nop the summer tires are not good And was a pain in the a$$ to get winter tires on 265-30-19 so I got all season much better

Yeah the Type-R is a lot of fun!
Shoulda got tuxmat. It covers more carpet👍
Eh these seem to be the perfect fit and cover just enough and still show off the red
My Tuxmats will be here before i pickup my CTR, lol. They are pretty awesome!
@@CTR-Keith yeah I have tuxmat in all my cars
It could but do I want it to? NO rather get a winter beater. Otherwise I'd trade in for a auto gr corolla in MN.
midwest type R brother :) right on!
Tuxmats are better, they cover the whole red floor
