One of the reasons i FELL in love with blue bus dave he shares ALL of his knowledge. A lot of guys like dave who have been picking for years would never share that knowledge even with a friend... dave puts it all online. I've learned so much from u and dave but just an example he picked gold framed glasses. Something that never even occurred to me can be gold. That year alone i probly picked around 2k in gold frames from garage sales and estate sales

I find it sad reading some of the negative comments about books and ownership of books. I love books, my life would be so much poorer without books especially historical books. To me it is like saying you don't enjoy music, how could you not? Just an indication of the throwaway society and the culture of pointless celebrity.😣😊

True that most house clearers and people like Taco, don’t have the specialized knowledge which is why I keep a list on Library Thing.com. I also have designated friends who do know with written okays to deal with my books when I’m gone. The really speedy ones aren’t old, non-isbn books either. Books are to be read, used, and enjoyed in my house, not locked behind glass doors and admired. That’s why I’ve made special arrangements.

Very cool! When I was a teen my dad had a house clean out business for bank foreclosures. We found some awesome stuff, but also a lot of garbage and rodents. Creepiest find was a Ouija board in the attic of one house. We tossed it! Also one house had an old car in the garage but no title, I don't remember what happened to it. Most stuff got junked but the nicer things a buddy of his would take and hold a huge yard sale where everything was 1 or 2 bucks. Really nice things we usually kept or gave away to friends/family. We never thought to ebay anything (this was mid 90s to early 2000s).

I would be donating everywhere I possible could jails/prisons, nursing homes, other elderly places, libraries that sell books for money, any schools, thrift stores, people you know, etc. Those people had money when you look at all of the items they had (I already watched Daves channel) and all of the top name brands of a lot of stuff as well. What fun to go into a clean out like that. I'd be in heaven.

Many local public libraries have volunteer auxiliary support groups called something like "Friends of the Library." They solicit used books and have sales a few times a year, the money goes to support programs at the library. Those books could be a gold mine for them. If book resellers are not interested, contact those groups. They would be thrilled to have those books.

Back in the day, before the Internet when computers first came out. there was no such thing as a screen saver. What would happen, that a certain image, the default image, whatever it was, would burn it'self into the screen. Then when you tried to use the computer, the image of that screen saver would be there, over whatever screen you were trying to use. This is especially true of the ATMs. Their screens were in the sun and the image would be burned in a little darker on those computers. They finally figured out that a moving/changing screen saver left no such permanent images on the screen.

The house was interesting and quirky, yet I found it very dark, gloomy, and rather morose. Maybe that's simply because I am not a fan of wood on the walls, as it makes me feel hemmed in........Regardless, very interesting to see how well traveled the inhabitants were.

    • @Bear4196

@@susiejakes3019 We built our home in 1973, and it had dark wood for walls. I was young and dumb, and just had the wood on the walls because it was the "in" look. I regretted doing that almost from day one, as it was just so dark and kept my spirit down, and it took about 25 years for me to afford to have it all torn out and sheet rock put in. That was the smartest thing I ever did for our home, as it is now light and airy, and every single room is painted WHITE, WHITE, WHITE! LOL Never again will I have any room painted other than white, as for me, at least, it's a breath of fresh air. I realize that doesn't work for everyone, but for me, it's the best solution. LOL
