#Periphery #NewSong #Reaction
Thanks pal!
Nik, senpai noticed you!!
Imraan Akollo-Arenz I like this hahahaahh
Love you, Misha.
Stoked for the album dude!
I never noticed it but the first few minutes has a similar structure to The News and that's not bad at all.
"yeh I'm not covering this by the way
*F U C K T H A T* "
-The bruises in the fingers speaking
^^ this
Such a mood 🤣😆
Fuck off, bro >:D
Go hard or go home, Misha and Mark would love to see their styles emulated
Dude the reprise to Reptile at the 4:30 gives me chills every time. That's a real staple of a Periphery album, there is usually at least 2 songs that are linked this way on most of there albums, another one being Murumasa and Ragnarok from Periphery II. Such a perfect album - good job guys, and great video Nik!
God, I live that part
Love*
That part of the song is probably my second favorite, my favorite being the part that starts at 4:05
PII has muramasa, ragnarok, masamune
PIII has the way the news goes, absolomb and lune
PIV has this and reptile
PV has atropos and dracul gras
All the musicians in Periphery are way too talented. Misha, Mark, and Jake are all fantastic in their own sections for guitar, Matt is a monster on the drums, and Spencer has some of the best vocals in this genre
Munchell360 They’re a supergroup through and through.
It's honestly amazing how insanely talented they all are
Don't forget nolly wtf. Nolly is an amazing bassist!
@@bryerpoulin5208 True, but he only writes with them. Misha wrote all the bass parts for this album
@@therestingmitchface6241 True I guess. Wish he'd actually write the bass parts because I enjoyed his riffs. :/
I don't think periphery is capable of writing a bad song
I've known periphery for a long time but never really listened them that much, idk why :D this and blood eagle caught my attention for sure!
@@siriplaydopethrone8973 I couldn't recommend periphery enough they really are fantastic check them out there music varies alot too without straying too far from their sound
@@siriplaydopethrone8973 I don't listen to Metallica anymore!
Ryan Bailey beta
Dr Greywolf Beta was a troll song. That’s why it came out on April 21st.
It was good can’t lie.
This song is so good. It’s clear that this album will be all over the place and amazing. Spencer is killlling it.
^^^
I like how they sprinkle in some stuff for the nerds, like the alternating 8/8-+ 7/8 pattern.
It's 4/4 and 15/4 you idiot!!!
(Sorry, got carried away)
I’m not sure why, but this is my favorite periphery song
Probably because its a good song
100% same
It reminds me of Alpha and Remain Indoors.
no its like a perfect blend, its very original i think
@@NielsJulian yeah but it has a lot of that vibes that reminds of them.
Nop, is original...
@@Megamanfirered205ch I know it's original, but the chorus sound like Remain Indoors and a lot of Juggernaut: Alpha songs, which is very cool!
Remain Alpha
Band: *Starts getting heavier with their sound*
Nik: "oh shit! Oh yeah come on hit me with a breakdown!"
Band: *Gradually gets lighter from that tone*
Nik: "Ok fine"
Band: *Finishes song and everyone loved it, but Nik is upset that they got lighter and now Misha Mansoor doesn't get my cookie*
Too long for a joke
@@nicolasfrossard4315 i don't know...
@@nicolasfrossard4315 I don't think so. I laughed... a little
Please react to “Reptile” Nik!!!
YES
Because of the reptile reference?
I absolutely love Periphery’s ambient, groovy and melodic side. “Lune”, “Flatline” and “Catch Fire” are easily some of my favorites and hell, they’re all from the same album. I love their heavy stuff too but I’d be lying if I said I can understand it 100% of the time (with any metal really). Still watching but yeah I’m right there with you dude, it was a nice mesh and balance of everything we expect from the Periphery bois at this point 🤘.
Edit: god damn, lol I didn’t notice it was 6 minutes either, it flew by. 😩
absolomb?
R Dany I can’t remember it in great detail right now but I remember that it’s another one that I like 👌
^^^
R Dany oh fuck yes....thank you for reminding me, it took me too long to get around to listening to it again but needless to say, it’s gonna be in my rotation once more 🤘
Edit: oh man, and the sweet orchestral (or whatever we can call it, I’m not well spoken when it comes to music 🙃) work too. It’s so good 💙
pretty well put- good shit.
Periphery is insane. Having riff masters like Misha Mansoor and Mark Holcomb.
Poor Jake, longest serving member of Periphery after Misha , yet always left out :D
David Nwokoye why does everyone overlook poor jake :(
@@Roonagu This definitely sounds like Jake's song though. Especially melody in the middle of the song :D
Jake is such an overlooked player he is the absolute backbone of their live show
@@EveryLittleBear yeah it sucks that I'm pretty sure those riffs are Jake's, the solo sounded like Mark. But definitely a Jake sound. And this dude doesn't even include him lmao
I've listened to this song so many times, and the part that makes my ears tingle the most is how the melody and vocals reflect Reptile in that one moment.
0:45 Nik Nocturnal is going through Periphery withdrawal rn
Maybe...
Metal shroud is back...
Really excited for this new record, especially seeing how Periphery 3 went. These guys never disappoint.
I'm pretty sure you meant to say that they never disappoint, because i don't feel like they are disappointing at all :D
Daniel Binkowski yeah, oops XD
ANY JST fans?? Who notices at 3:35 dreamy atmosphere preset misha made. Best preorder bonus ever.
wjveryzer7985 good catch!
Really like this song a lot, love Matt's drumming.
Thank you Nik. Since i subbed to you , i`ve been put into magical journey trough amazing music and covers . CHeers mate.
At first I thought this song was ok, but I kept coming back to it and it grew on me. Now it’s gotta be one of my favorite songs by them. The drum work half way through the song gets me every time.
Periphery is one of the very few bands alongside Ice Nine Kills, Architects, Motionless In White, and Slipknot to never disappoint me. Amazing track.
Can’t forget Currents!
I put A7X in the same category PERSONALLY. Avenged and Periphery are my two favorite bands I never get sick of because I feel like they constantly evolve their sound and stay true to what they feel like writing.
I'd personally add erra
Set in Snow not of fan of them tbh. And this is my list.
Set in Snow Erra is great
I had the same reaction to the solo @5:30. It just pinches your balls in a good way. That's the only way I can describe it.
Personally I'm a bigger fan of metalcore than prog, but Periphery are a box of everything.
A Dream do you listen to Gojira? If you like metalcore and want a progressive metal band, they’re a good option. Although their singer growls instead of screams. And yeah Periphery is excellent too especially with their utilization of 3 guitarists.
I love this song, I heard it all, sometimes played it all, but the little clean guitar break in the middle is one of the most beautiful examples of what electric guitar is all about, so harpy and melodic, and especially, original, Periphery nailed it with this recording, it's got everything, simplicity, melody, awesome drum composition, all guitar work is crucial, and Spence puts the cherry on the cake, the lyrics are ACE, and the performance is emotional and powerful, what a fucking song, Periphery are like wine, they get better with age, I saw them in Manchester last November, and they didn't do this song, I was sick, BUT, they did Remain Indoors instead, so a totally bitter sweet experience, I'm 56 years old, and this band is fucking killing it !
I love the groovy stuff, got damn Periphery is an amazing band
They know how to groove
Good analysis. I've honestly been most impressed with the singer in this band although the entire band is awesome. There is a making the album I remember watching a while back where Spencer was like, No autotune on this one dude, fuck it. Then goes and rips it up sounding like a beast. Always great hearing new Periphery.
toolhog10 that’s the p2 doc
My favorite song of 2019, off my favorite album of 2019. An absolute masterpiece
This entire album gives me chills. Periphery is superhuman.
Really good review agree with pretty much everything! I way preferred it to blood eagle personally, I think it has a lot of the things that make periphery songs so uniquely great
The off-guard electronic section gave me the best butterflies. Easily my favourite part.
im 2 years late but yes i agree the synth sounds glitchy its so cool
I was expecting so much more for Spencer’s voice 😅 especially after 3:10, absolutely love his vocals!
I love that in some of their albums like P2, P3, P4, they have a common theme melodically that as the album progresses, they rxpand upon until the last track where that them is fully developed.
"I feel like this would be a good place for a solo"...
...."Oh that's juicy!" My thoughts exactly Periphery really know how to deliver, this album is 10/10
Man the solos are becoming more and more Dream Theateresque, and I say that in the most positive way! Tones, vibe, sound, etc!
I need to get back into Periphery. I haven’t listened to them since Marigold.
would love to hear a guitar cover of the new Eluveitie song Ategnatos
Juggernaut is my favorite because of that abyss I call prog blues, Devin Townsend is my favorite because of the ambiance.
Periphery is music to make faces to. Incredible writing
I think You and Wyatt Stav would fit so well together (content-wise). I would be excited as sh*t if you and him did a single together or something!
I'm looking forward to the new album.
Am I the only one that love this react videos just to discover new bands?
Maybe I should go and check out on their channels too & stuff for some more!
I got In a World so Cold vibes from this song, which I really like.
you should check out Spiritbox - Belcarra, great new song
I'd like to know if you listened to the new Dream Theater Album? If not I'd definitely give it a listen, not necessarily requesting any songs to be covered but John Petrucci's guitar work strikes me as the kind you'd enjoy
Im curious what you thought of the 2nd I prevail song. I LOVE it
I dont believe I've seen them on your channel yet, but you should definitely do a cover of Lotus Eaters newest song called Branded
Your right it is a dope song great sick awesome track the guitar riffs were heavy and the vocals and the screams were skyrocketed man I think in my opinion since the last album they did was super sick and this one is a great album too you know as a result the band had great structures on the chorus and the melodies great sounding vibe to it the screams in this song remind me of taking back Sunday vibe type of feel to it I listen to a lot of taking back Sunday back in the day great style of the song this band did great potential and strong vocals in the clean vocals parts great atmosphere in the album too your right nik this music video is 6 minutes long and omg I’m surprised by that of the smooth sailing intro in the end of the song loved it omg it’s sick man that’s so dope loved it I enjoy that song pretty much I rate this 4 and half niks too based on our agreement together bro great job nik u pulled it off on this reaction bro u made a great point there way to go love u 😍
Please react to Satellites or reptile!
5:50
Summery of this whole song: “ooh that’s nice”
Were you at the show in TO in September?
Review Holding Absence! Please. :)
Solid record. My opinion, P2 is a more cohesive record. However, Reptile is probably their most impressive song to date. Great video !
What do you think of I Prevail's new stuff ?
Who recorded the solo? My guess would be Misha or Jake. Matt is so subtle with his grooves.
I was wondering the same thing but i thought it was Mrak 😂
I'm betting Jake, sounds more his style
It’s definitely Jake
HAIL NIK
You need to do “after the burial” behold the crown cover.
He did.
Spencer is once again a great fucking vocalist, underrated in my opinion
I'm a guitarists, the fucking drums, especially the bass drums sound heavenly.
You should react to the studio version of reptile
I had the Song on repeat already. About 100 plays for now :D which is pretty low for a periphery song :P
WTF the guitar work is just stupid melodic wow!!
Where has his reptile cover gone ?
People have already covered garden in the bones you're good nik
Man plz do an ingested cover it may be easy in your eyes but they are so brutal would love to see you cover preveyours of truth. Love your shite
Hey Nik. Love the video! You should do a reaction to a smaller/lesser known artist which I've been watching for a while. I think he needs way more recognition for how amazing and fast he covers songs and writes his own. His name is Jordan Guthrie. Give him a listen and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Cheers
Wait, at 4:32 was that just his vocals from Reptile?
Yes it's in both songs 😊 but different tempo
You should do a reaction/review of the single scarlxrd is going to release next week. I heard after it got leaked for a small amount of time and it's fire
Nice to see your reaction and thoughts rather than a cover for once :)
I go back and forth with them :)
I'm glad you didn't cover this because I saw how difficult it was for you on blood eagle and it seemed to just burn you out and song it for like 4 hours straight. You do what you wanna do we'll be here to enjoy whatever you come out with!
Also ya this song is good! Love how it's more chill compared to blood eagle being more aggressive. It does show how talented they can be
He was popping off.
Like that shit! Yes it's nice.
01:54 to 01:55 yeah, me either!
Please cover! Finna cry if you don't
Hey nik do a cover of whitechapel’s when a demon defiles a witch
DO “BELCARRA” BY SPIRITBOX NEXT
Jonny Flip woah I just pulled them up in Apple Music! Thanks! Never heard of them!
Spencer knows its vocals, bro. But the main highlight of this song is Misha's way of orchestrating the support pieces of the orchestra and synths. If there's one man that can define Periphery's tone, is Misha with his wonky way of writing
men is awesome song good video
I like it
Where’s the blood eagle video?
React to i prevail - bow down
that sour note at 1:54 tho
React to the new song of i prevail - paranoid
REACT TO REPTILE. PLZZZZZZZ
You should have reacted with a cover.
NIK NIK NIK!!!! This song really isn't that hard to play, it just sounds really fuckin awesome!
Edit: it is hard but gets easier a few times through
Do a reaction video to “breaking down” by iprevail !!
🖤
React to the new “ Our last night- Bury the hatchet”
That would be so cool
Btw good react dude
"I'm not covering this by the way, fuck that".. not sure if I'm gonna be disappointed or just be glad I'm not seeing another intimidating guitar work.
istg periphery is way too underrated to make songs this good
Should rate using mineral water ;)
(Think that’s the water you drink?)
its a good boyband
Nik "Okay?" Nocturnal
Epico
Can you please react to the new Jonas Brothers song? For nostalgia? And the fact they kinda ripped off Portugal. The man
Imraan Akollo-Arenz now that you said it, I totally agree!
Ooooo ahhhhh oohhhhh ooooookkkkk ahhhhh oooooooo
GUY ON A BUFFALO
