For me: Single player: Java. (less bugs, combat feels better against mobs, more features like showing hitboxes & durability, and mods) Multiplayer: Bedrock. (combat feels better against players, you can simply invite people without some random mods, and cross play which means much more people you can play with) (remember this is all just my opinion)
For me I say they are both simular and as good as each other, as a player of minecraft for 7 years I have tended to play bedrock for about ¾ of the time but still I think Java is a great version however I would recommend to my friends to get bedrock for a more simple and quicker way to play multilayer

And a realms subscription can get you access to loads of other stuff for cheap too, so it's worth the money. Bedrock is just better with multiplayer.

my biggest problem with bedrock edition is how projectiles like arrows shot from a bow or ghast fireballs work, java arrows are extremely responsive while bedrock has some delay on them, same with ghast fireballs
Also I found out that Java has some kind of arch in ender peals and shooting arrows. While in bedrock it was very easy to shoot and arrows went straight to the crosshair compared to java.
I just had this video play on the background while mining. You did not just give bedrock points in "convenience" for having the marketplace saying "it has accessible mods, skins and maps" when Java edition has all of that for free since Minecraft came out. That makes me feel your opinion is moot.

If you want, you can get a £3 realms subscription for a ZERO MAINTENANCE 24/7 multiplayer world. And you can easily add mods to it, because importing mods to bedrock is the easiest thing in the world to do. multiplayer is simply an extreme strength on bedrock's side. As for the marketplace, it is a bit BS, but realms also gives you a bunch of those packs for free, so why complain? It might not be the most accessible, I certainly wouldn't use it as a point against Java, but it's a nice-to-have in some fields

bedrock doesnt really feel clunky or cheap. im a java and bedrock player thats experienced both versions and to my knowledge, i honestly think both editions are pretty stable. And yes there are mods that cost money, but thats only inside the marketplace. You can still download and use free modpacks the same way u would use on java. And private servers are also free (aternos, etc)

Hey, so my 5-year-old son is really into Minecraft on his tablet. Now he wants the PC version, but I'm not sure which one to get. I downloaded both the Java and Bedrock demos, and it seems like Bedrock (Windows edition) is more like the tablet version and can be played with an Xbox controller. But with the Java edition, I can't connect the controller, and it's tough for him to use the mouse and keyboard. Just because YT creators use Java on video more doesn't mean it's more popular. Bedrock edition has the larger player base, like a lot larger, thanks to the crossplay. So I'd say it dominates popularity + convenience.

Java is ofc better & more efficient when it comes to PVP and is more original, but I used to be a bedrock guy on console before being a Java user on PC and bedrock is still ok
I totally disagree on the graphics part, bedrock has several tiny animations and models where Java doesn't, for example, in Java the fishing rod end is a 2D sprite, while in bedrock it is a 3D model. There are more instances of this too.

Even if bedrock is seen as inferior to java, it has a special place in my heart when i was growing up playing Minecraft pocket. It main selling point for me it that it doesn't take much to run, i was playing with my samsung A20, it was awesome.

You can load up into basically any 1.8 pvp server with 1.20 clients.

@@mrmemer6880 It does feel clunky, the menus, attack system, chests, crafting, and blocks all have this annoying delay. The graphics look terrible, the game barely has any grass due to performance issues. I mean the game is literally made for mobile -_-

Hey, so my 5-year-old son is really into Minecraft on his tablet. Now he wants the PC version, but I'm not sure which one to get. I downloaded both the Java and Bedrock demos, and it seems like Bedrock (Windows edition) is more like the tablet version and can be played with an Xbox controller. But with the Java edition, I can't connect the controller, and it's tough for him to use the mouse and keyboard. Also, he sees a lot of youtube videos of minecraft with different mods and stuff, so he insist to do the same, lol. So, which one do you think I should get for him?
Just because YT creators use Java on video more doesn't mean it's more popular. Bedrock edition has the larger player base, like a lot larger, thanks to the crossplay. So I'd say it dominates popularity + convenience.

The vast majority of players prefer the fast paced combat which bedrock provides without having to downgrade your game and lose a plethora of features. Biased video. Everyone knows that the 1.9 update was the death of PVP on Java.

Imo the better version of Minecraft is just the one that YOU are comfortable with. I find it so stupid that people argue over which one is better. It’s still Minecraft regardless.
Java is ofc better & more efficient when it comes to PVP and is more original, but I used to be a bedrock guy on console before being a Java user on PC and bedrock is still ok
I totally disagree on the graphics part, bedrock has several tiny animations and models where Java doesn't, for example, in Java the fishing rod end is a 2D sprite, while in bedrock it is a 3D model. There are more instances of this too.

Even if bedrock is seen as inferior to java, it has a special place in my heart when i was growing up playing Minecraft pocket. It main selling point for me it that it doesn't take much to run, i was playing with my samsung A20, it was awesome.

Java because since it's on PC it's not laggy. On PS4 Minecraft is so slow you'd see better performance on Sonic 2006, PS2 Sonic Heroes and Crash Wrath Of Cortex and even the old GTA V loading screen. Last night my data corrupted because I saved and quit the world.

because its easier?? personally i like java's bridging because compared to bedrock it actually needs skill if you want to go fast. Speed telly bridging is faster than any bedrock bridging method
