Hey bedrock players! Before you leave an angry comment, I suggest you watch the entire video throughout - it is a fair comparison and I talk about the experience of bedrock edition from the perspective of someone who has always played the java edition and why the game didn't captivate the existing java audience. Objectively, bedrock is a more popular game and I mention this quite a bit too. Little bit disheartening seeing the number of people who won't watch an entire opinion piece before getting mad and leaving a negative comment.
The thing is, every “good” thing about bedrock can be added to java in about 5 seconds if you have curseforge or modrinth. Like for example the ESSENTIAL mod adds the “ invite your friends on your world” thing with the added bonus that you can use modded/older versions of the game.
@@krazykuz13cmcAlmost all content creators are on Java, and content creators drive the popularity of minecraft. It's unlikely they'll drop support for Java in the next 5-10 years. They'll probably end up having to fix bedrock or redo it correctly from scratch, and then content creators will have incentive to switch over.
I like how this debate goes on while Mojang delivers a Bethesda-tier game on either edition and gets away with it. Don't believe me? Try running Minecraft without any of your optimization mods, yup, has it clicked yet? You have to install mods to fix the game you paid full price for. I'm not defending Bedrock edition, there it's even worse because you can't even fix the issues, but, I don't think y'all should be contempt either just because you have the option to fix them on Java, Minecraft is a paid game, when you pay for something you should expect something that requires no external modifications to work.
I think the lack of mods should be taken into account. Since 100% of the Java players have access to mods such as sodium or optifine, I consider them as a part of the game
bedrock already has higher render-distance, support for shaders and better performance and while most players would want stuff like holding a torch in your hand to light up the area (forgot what it's called) and having item tag specific textures (what hypixel skyblock texturepacks use), it's not really necessary to get a decent framerate on a potato pc (what I mainly use these mods for) so as a whole: people wouldn't say no, but don't need it as much in the first place (sorry for bad english btw)
Also to add onto Keks' points, bedrock has many clients such as onix, and also fps boosting clients as well that essentially have the same effects as optifine or sodium.
@@nhcubing the fps boosting packs don't actually do much as all they can do is make textures for particles transparent and because of the new render engine they can't optimize shaders unless you have a rtx supported card
one thing that drove me away from bedrock personally was the discontinuation of the legacy console versions. for so many years that community was promised modding, crossplay, commands, and full java edition parity. when crossplay was announced, we all thought we would be getting all our promises handed to us but instead we got a watered down game with the pocket edition menu and completely different mechanics :/
modding, crossplay and commands exist on bedrock, and bedrock has official support for modding (but most modders keep to java >:/) and the ui is being updated an parity is being added, why are people still complaining about it, they are specifically altering bedrock to add all the parity you want, and stuff that isn't added might be impossible to add due to the difference in coding languages
@@bello666 because bedrock doesn't support mods or datapacks it can only support addon whose performance is much different from mod i also don't know much difference between addon and mod but to my knowledge mod is better btw java support addon too
Honestly the thing I hate the most is the way the controls feel on bedrock, like the inventory animation makes it feel sluggish and unresponsive, and the mouse feels harder to control and delayed. Kinda disappointing to play after using Java for years
there are many small differences that none dare to talk about which make it feel uncanny. the fov and bobbing are different, the sounds are different, bedrock looks more saturated especially with grass and leaves, air punches have sound, hotbar looks slightly different (xp bar and opacity), the chat, the arm length is shorter on bedrock (how the arm sticks out on the screen), texture differences, fog, and anti aliasing is different
viewmodel fov being desynced from fov, and fov being forcefully below 120, are very bad. i like to play ULTRAKILL at 140 fov. tf2 is locked to 90 fov, but that's okay, it's a great game. minecraft? 120 fov, but i can use clients to get it up to 140. Bedrock, though? I tried playing it. How the hell do you change fov??
Another thing i have to mention is how particles rotate in bedrock. In Java, the particles always stay flat towards your screen, but on bedrock they are turned a bit incorrectly.
The stupid amount of bugs and glitches drove me away especially after my world of over a decade, synced over from 360 edition many years ago, and it’s 60 backup copies all of a sudden got deleted after I tried uploading the world to a realm. I tried contacting Microsoft and Minecraft support and they said they already know of the issue and it’s been around for nearly half a decade.
On Java, you could easily make several backups and copy them all over inside your own files, eliminating the possibility of something such as that ever happening. It's sad big companies can hold sole ownership of our save files and not even provide a backup in case something goes wrong.
another major issue with bedrock is that it is completely impossible to run on linux or mac knowing it was made by microsoft, this is 100% intentional, but it still sucks.
It probably feels like that because no 10 y/o has a $2000 pc to be able to play java. Bedrock has a younger audience since consoles are vastly cheaper and more avalibale for younger people.
@@SmokeFactory Yeah YOU do that, not the majority of bedrock players. Fricking people on the internet always think everything is about them personally.
The biggest flaw is that it’s made to run on a cell phone. I want to know who actually benefits from cross play on their phones compared to how many are inconvenienced as a result. I don’t even like Minecraft on my phone anymore even though I used to play MCPE all the time, it’s not the same. This is easier for them, and that’s enough justification in their eyes, but Minecraft will never be the same for me because of it.
Iv just downloaded Java on my phone through PoJavLauncher. My 8 gen 1 has a single high performance 3ghz core. And Minecraft is mainly single core (seems less impressive because PCs aren't on 4.3 to 5.2 no more) Also compatibility with mods, servers, and multiplayer works just fine, battery and heat isn't bad
The only reason to play bedrock is for crossplay. Also it still baffles me how they gave it a subtitle "Better together" when it's not available on linux
@@wnsjimbo2863 Minecraft java supports linux by default due to the nature of java itself being linux compatible. Tell Oracle to stop supporting linux because "no reasonable developer supports linux"
@@wnsjimbo2863 Linux has 4% marketshare and the reason Bedrock hasn’t been ported to it is because Microsoft doesn’t want to support a rival operating system.
As a bedrock player I actually like the skin system. I personally think it’s kinda cool that there’s a built in UI for making a skin from premade elements. Like a character creator in an RPG The only thing about it I don’t like is they made it another thing to monetize, instead of just the fun player tool it is.
Bedrock Edition is missing Console edition parity(Tutorial worlds, official minigames, amplified, small biomes, custom superflats, normal redstone) and Java edition Parity(also custom superflats/amlified, modding support, spectator mode, hardcore mode). Also Bedrock has tons of glitches and bugs
bedrock doesn't have: - the option to set your main hand to "left" - the ability to pause the game - a way to go back to old versions officially to experience what those were like (Nether Reactor still exists in the game btw) something I have wrong with bedrock: - the mouse seems off. I'm not sure why, it just does. It's weird because I went from Xbox 360 -> Win10 -> Java
Good point of view: -The thing about not being able to pause the game time, is because of the multiplayer. - The thing about not being able to return to other versions, is to prevent players from staying in a single version and it benefits the servers by being able to use the new content of the updates...(hypixel 1.9)... - In everything else I agree and understand your opinion.
Wdym by bedrock edition cant set main hand to "left"? Do you even play bedrock before you commenting this? There literally an option call "Lefty" in touch control setting.
@@fury72888hshu That's not what they meant... All "Lefty" does is switch the jump and other movement buttons... does Java have touch screen movement buttons? Obviously not, they mean having your character hold things visually on the left hand. Don't be rude. Especially whilst not using common sense.
As a map maker who used to play on Bedrock Edition for a few years, switching to Java unlocked infinitely more possibilities. The command system on Java Edition is just so much cleaner and easier to use, even if it seems confusing at first.
Thing is, bedrock relies less on commands, and more on its addon system for custom content, which in most cases, allows for more possibilities than vanilla java datapacks and commands.
@@sisilicon14 its simpler and in most cases it's easier to create good looking things, but when it comes to pure possibilities Java has an edge here, Java's commands are de facto full-fletched programing language
Something that i didn't see anyone talking about is how limited the commands are Like you can't summon a fireball and /ride can't be used to ride other mobs
I like how the Bedrock edition has a huge shiny HD "Minecraft" plastered on the main menu while the Java edition's logo is still in pixelated quality even tho it's the original one. edit: I guess they're both HD now
9:02 Need to correct you on this one - as usual, java edition modders figured out and made a plugin(GeyserMC) that makes java edition servers compatible for bedrock players, making this whole microsoft's bedrock idea even more ridiculous. You can basically throw anything at java edition community and they will be able to deal with it. People are recently figuring out how to disable the new ridiculous chat report system that has been added in 1.19.1. I can imagine even if microsoft stopped updating java, people would still put toghether their own updates or release their own versions of the game, like optifine, that incredible thing is used almost by everyone. I'm very proud of what this community is capable of.
Sure, you can use that plugin but there is no official cross-platform multiplayer support provided by Mojang. It is possible through plugins only (as of now). Bedrock Edition is great! Even I started playing Minecraft through the Bedrock Edition, (I went from Pocket Edition -> Java Edition) but I still do think that Java Edition > Bedrock Edition cause I used to watch many UA-camrs from my country and I got influenced by them. It's only a matter of fact that if you enjoy a game, it's editions or versions doesn't matters in the slightest!
From my experience, GeyserMC isn't ready to be official, as there's *so* many issues that crop up because of it. Maybe we'll eventually get crossplay, but not right now.
As a bedrock player, sometimes i see bedrock as something they experiment on. They add this little but noticable features that aren't found in java to see how it is received by the players
there is dev version of this game that really shows what can all be in mcbe but devs refuse to add them which ia pretty dumb like f3 can be added in a single patch which would affect speedrunning ALOT and some other rly cool stuff that devs dont wanna add. Probably bc they dont wanna make 2 exact games they wanna have differences beetwen 2 same games, pretty dumb i misspelled so much shit...
I would like to clarify stuff. Shaders created after the renderdragon switch do work and I have used them. However all old shaders are broken no due to renderdragon which is a bit annoying.
@@slurpylmao if you had a nividia rtx, then you would have a computer. and therefore youd have funds to get a good pc, by extension why the fuck would you play bedrock
The reason for using C++ isn't that Java can't run on "locked-down" devices. It can easily run on billions of devices, including game consoles and phones. Even performance-wise, Java could run at a reasonable performance on phones and portable consoles. The reason C++ was used is that the development started from scratch and it just made more sense to go for C++ considering it is the industry standard for games and Java is not. But that's it, Bedrock edition could've just as easily have been a Java rewrite if Java was preferred for some reason.
why do you think the people who have enough to buy a computer and destory thier old minecraft bedrock cuz it bad and yeah they really shoudlove just ported java, like shown on pojav launcher
You also forgot that bedrock isnt full parity, our mob farms are very inneficient and theres a LOT of features missing, for example banner shields, they never came to bedrock, so dual weilding, in a majong video the devs talked about the lack of dualweilding and one of them said: "what are you gonna do, maybe hold a flower?" Us bedrock players are being clowned on.
"what are you gonna do, maybe hold a flower?" Are they for fucking real, playing java I am always, and I mean always holding something in my off hand, be it torches, rockets, blocks, shield other tools ect
@@TwoPlusTwoEqualsFive32 thankfully an other dev replied that yes they were thinking about it but I really doubt that they are working on it since that feature has been abscent of bedrock edition for years
@@Draconic404 well it seems like you haven't even been looking at the recent betas and updates. the aftermath of 1.18 alone has added more parity features than ever. the seeds literally match, we have spectator and new mobile controls open the potential for off hand
another annoying thing is how we don't even have item frames as entities and how their parity "solution" is to remove the only relaible way of getting xp in bedrock (furnace fun) for "parity" and pretend that mob xp farms are efficent and working well.
I was playing Bedrock edition with my cousin, I was truly impressed with how well it runs even on low end hardware. As someone who codes bukkit plugins, Java performance is something I have to keep in mind a lot. The biggest boon for Bedrock is the performance. It runs so much better in every way possible, but outside of that it's hard for me to say anything else good about it. Moving around in bedrock feels like you're teleporting pixels and not moving, I believe this is because java has lerp, and I'm guessing Bedrock doesn't. The lighting looks worse, dark spots look way too bright, which washes out the lighter places. While redstone seems better on paper it's rather unpredictable. Java handles redstone with a hash set, which has it's own issues, but the issues are consistent.
I had a computer to my surprise ran Minecraft Java at a solid 60 fps with a setting turned on without that setting it could hit 100 fps. Can't play Java anymore though. Plus the computer was a low end computer.
@four00cookie Mictotransactions that are completely avoidable and doesn't affect the game in any major way. You can quite literally buy bedrock edition and not ever touch the marketplace and have absolutely no problem with it. You can still play the game normally on one purchase, the marketplace is mostly there for those who aren't playing on Mobile and PC
Very well made video. I've touched Bedrock a few times but it just... doesn't feel like Minecraft anymore. The best way I can put it is that Bedrock encourages creating new items/models/mobs/features for server owners and map makers, while Java encourages building on top of what already exists and being more constrained to 'vanilla' mechanics. Not to mention the microtransactions obviously. When I think of Bedrock, I think of the emotes and minecoins and custom models. Their main selling point is the marketplace, NOT the game's classic experience. And that totally goes against what Minecraft is to me.
java lets people do more with less. bedrock gives people more to create, but restricts them so much. but with java, you can change whatever you want, but you still need to work within vanilla constrictions
I feel like the ability to change versions is quite overlooked when comparing bedrock and java. It creates so many cool opportunities such as just going back for nostalgia or even creating content
@@Hyperlands as someone who played bedrock since 2016, I kind of wished I played java sooner rather than deciding to less than a month ago, but if bedrock supported mods mainly and as much multiplayer servers secondly it would be a god tier version in my opinion. I like the features menu. loading screen, GUI, and more features of bedrock but like the mods and servers of java.
@@Hyperlands yea, I am about to see what is so great about mods by trying some and if they are any better or more capable at altering minecraft than bedrock's addons
You failed to mention something huge, that is the main reason that a very large community of java players will never move to bedrock, and that's redstone being completely random. The technical community will never move over, because redstone just doesn't behave right. I'd rather have redstone dust not point into pistons, as long as it actually works the way I expect it too.
There are some redstoners who are envious that tile blocks can be moved and would love to have that ability in java, though i get what your getting at.
The code may be "better" but there are still dozens of nearly game breaking bugs. I have thousands of hours on my bedrock survival world and have recently (last 8 months) been playing Java. I honestly don't play much bedrock now, it's just not as polished.
@@Elya_0_0_7Java is literally the main version of the game. Bedrock was a console/mobile version that they basically ported to PC. Bedrock has better code but it’s a completely different version of the game. Java is not obsolete.
They all have their issues. (Corpos never gonna do this) Game needs to be rewritten from ground up, with a good medium-level modular code base, that allows versatile and performant mods while retaining simplicity and similarly between versions
6:37 the quirks of redstone on java edition have allowed incredibly complicated contraptions. Many bugs have become fully fledged features. I stopped playing bedrock back in the ps3 days because of how broken and inconsistient redstone was. Almost no java contraption would work in bedrock.
@@ERDude It's not just quasi connectivity. Java has a set execution order, Bedrock does not. A 100% guaranteed 1 tick pulse behavior in Java leads to random firing in Bedrock. This leads to inevitable extra timing complexity and slowdown in Bedrock.
is nobody else gonna talk about the fact that in bedrock entities and blocks are the SAME light level on every side apart from a few exceptions like your own player model, but even then it just looks too saturated
I'm genuinely surprised that no one has mentioned the problems with Bedrock redstone here. It's the main reason I don't play it. The lack of bud powering, 1 ticking, and 0 ticking makes a lot of builds either impossible or much much more complicated. And the weird thing were redstone is just... inconsistent. Sometimes a circuit works, sometimes it doesn't. This seems like such a strange thing, and would definitely go against making redstone more intuitive, which seems to be their goal in Bedrock. Great video! I definitely think that Bedrock has great potential and shouldn't have ignored some of the things that make Java edition so great.
But that's how redstone supposed to be, free from bugs like bud powering, besides, you're used to Java redstone so it will be weird playing with Bedrock redstone.
@@aspect_ratio Sure bud powering was initially a bug, but it has been adapted and recognized as a feature now, given how widespread it's use is. So many possibilities are opened with bud powering. And on the topic that this is "how redstone is supposed to be," are you saying it's supposed to be inconsistent? That sometimes a circuit working and sometimes it not working is a welcome feature?
@@pixelz3040 i completely agree with you. Redstone just doesn't work on Bedrock half the time. I (think) the reason is that Microsoft added RNG to more aspects of redstone than there are on Java. For example, if you try and push a block with 2 pistons at the same time, the piston that works is completely random on Bedrock but determined by which directions the pistons are facing on Java.
It just works differently. You can make some redstone builds in bedrock that Java can't. Vice versa. It's also more compact and has movable blocks Java can't. Neither are better and you just gotta be committed and not think about Java Redstone to get into it and enjoy
The mob generation on bedrock is horrendous. Animals disappear at night, and despawn in general. You can never count an animal to be there again when you return unless you’ve bred them. And this makes the Nether so much harder. Ghasts and skeletons spawn constantly, which is doubly horrible when you have to crouch to use a shield.
I think a big part of why bedrock has so many issues is that its code was originally intended for lower end mobile devices and then later ported to other platforms. I think that’s why all of the differences between each editions stem from. Back then mobile devices weren’t nearly as powerful so Mojang probably had to compromise by removing some major features. Also many of Java’s important features these days like the nether roof or some weird redstone quirks were originally bugs that were kept in because Mojang back then probably felt like the community would be happy with them staying. Bedrock instead decided to fix those bugs instead of keeping them. And the reason there hasn’t been a major parity update is because the majority of the community, mainly casual players don’t feel the need for it also it wouldn’t make as much money.
Is it me, or does bedrock edition just feel wierd? Its also quite fustrating that you can't use the number keys to move items into your hopbar, I use it all the time in Java.
@@harryjsj7206 ion know, I play both versions almost daily, and the switch is pretty easy for me, and nothing feels too off. (I play hive with onix client, and hypixel with lunar client)
I feel that the redstone and combat mechanics are what really mess with me when it comes to bedrock and java. Java just suits me better when it comes to making redstone and fighting, as well as swapping between 1.8.9 and 1.9+. What also really turns my head away from Bedrock is that it has a limited amount of items in the right hand.
I was a huge Xbox 360 player and loved the game so much. But when I finally played bedrock edition it felt different. Like something had changed. The thing I miss the most when legacy turned into bedrock was the official Minecraft mini games. Those games were everything to me when growing up with Minecraft. 😢
one of the big reasons I think java players hate bugrock is the monetization. on bugrock, it's a "freemium" game where you have to buy texture packs, custom worlds, and skins, when in java you can do all that for free, but you have to purchase access to the game itself. it's such a stupid idea that microsoft decided to fill bugrock with so many microtransactions that any kid with a below-room-temperature IQ (most children, realistically) will beg their parents to waste money on it instead of having it for free, like java does.
There’s that plus there’s so many slight differences in the experiences in both games, like the UI is a console/mobile UI by heart, which makes it annoying for PC users especially switching from Java where the UI is simpler and more usable
PS4 player here - I’d appreciate Bedrock more if its UI wasn’t a buggy mess to operate with a controller. With how everything is set up, it’s _calling_ for you to use a mouse. Heck, it looks like something that’d fit perfect with MC:PE’s aesthetic (huge buttons and all). Another thing is performance. Playing Bedrock alone is so-so (provided you aren’t going to beefy biomes and locations), but playing with split-screen? A mess. Walking around is okayish but as various menus are opened, the framerate *_dips._* It’s crazy given this is Minecraft. Those mentioned above weren’t that much of a serious issue however. What I’m absolutely furious about Bedrock’s addition is that all the skins and texture packs I bought _weren’t ported over._ Legacy skins are now re-locked and I have to *_buy them again._* Yes, I’m aware those are just skins, but I’ve bought them _way back_ during the PS3/Vita days. They weren’t cheap either, so for them to be neglected *_just like_* that is disheartening - not to mention the fact that skins can now be bought with tokens or whatever the hell they call it. I really thought Bedrock was optional and will only be played on should we want to play with other people from other platforms… boy how was I wrong.
I agree with my legacy skins. The ones I got in my 360 version and transferred over to xbox one version.. should also have come with me to bedrock. Some did, some did not. What is sad though, is that even though my Conker skin came over.. I can only use it when I'm playing on my xbox.. and I think others that play on different platforms can't see those skins.
I’ve grown up with bedrock edition so it just felt normal for me, but watching so much java edition minecraft growing up, it made me feel completely normal while playing it on my pc for the first time and i can equally appreciate both as a fun game. Although I definitely agree that both games have completely different playstyles due to their differences in mechanics.

Java and Bedrock can play together on servers :) Geyser and Waterfall [Two Plugins] allows Bedrock players to join Java Servers through some complex packet conversion tools, sure the Bedrock addition will be marginally slower due to this conversion, but it is still very much playable and you don't need that high specs to run the server off of (a 10 year old PC will have more then enough power). It does get a bit more dicey with allowing Console Additions of Bedrock to join but I believe it is still possible! But mobile, nintendo switch and Windows 10 can definitely play together. Obviously it goes without saying that you won't have emotes on the server or anything like that but if you simply want to play together and build, you can just use Geyser and Waterfall which would allow them to connect.
Haven’t played bedrock in a while so I don’t know if they have made any updates to redstone, but it just seemed random. Sometimes the machine would do one thing, the other time it would do something completely different, with no reason for happening
You're not going crazy. Bedrock for some reason has a random calculation order. If you stick two pistons trying to extend into the same block and power them at the same time it will be random.
And if you make a farm and come back into the world after like a small bug fix update or even just coming back into the world without a update the farm just breaks. And don’t even get me started on villagers
Yeah I once tried to make just a simple concrete powder flush piston door on bedrock and it always just breaks because either the pistons stop working or the concrete ends up in the same block
from my experience as a bedrock player switching to Java, it feels very out of place and weird, but after i played it for a few months i got used to it and find bedrock too simple and boring. (Not saying bedrock is bad)
I play play BE, just so I can be in realms with my friends, I also own Java, but haven't touched it in a while. What makes BE more simple to you? I know the redstone and combat are a little different, but the extent of the main content is the same, isn't it?
Honestly my biggest problem with Bedrock is petty, but I hate how the game doesn't visually feel the same. Obviously you look at bedrock and you can instantly regonize it as minecraft, but there are alot of smaller details that I can only describe as wrong. The most noticeable for me is how the particles are orientated in bedrock, instead of being a 2D billboard copying the orientation of the camera, it is a flat plane facing towards the center of the camera. Other details are with the animations, like the view bobbing on the hand seems slower and heavier. The ui is also different but considering it's designed to run on mobile and console I understand that it had to be reworked. I could do without the transition effects of opening and closing menus though, makes things feel less snappy.
I started with Bedrock edition when I was really young, so I have the exact same experience when playing Java for it's superior servers and modding capabilities, but I still prefer the overall feel of Bedrock edition more. For some reason, everything seems incredibly sluggish and unpolished on Java as compared to Bedrock, but I'm sure people who are used to Java feel the same way towards Bedrock as I do to Java.
Wow. I didn't think I would hear someone use the jazz jackrabbit music in a video. Made my day as this was one of my favourite games when i was younger
The latency on bedrock is honestly disgraceful even when offline, you would think with such a massive player base, they would see the unstableness of the game and bring it to Java’s level but nahh

I started off on console and moved to playing Java over the years, and I like Java a whole lot more. A HUGE thing I’m into is modding. At this point, I can barely play survival without them, just because of the sense of ease. I’m in love with FTB ultimine and Journey Maps. Create is an incredible mod. You just can’t get them on console. I wish it was easier to play with friends online on Java, but that’s my only complaint
@@bingchilling7519 I have such fond memories of legacy console, that they almost get tainted by Bedrock’s bugginess. I wish Microsoft just tried to make a better Java version, instead of what they have made.
@@shadowonslaught for PC? Because I don’t think you can get mods on console. Well, I know “technically” you can, but it requires usb drives and what not.
To be honest the only things holding me back are, command blocks being awfully simple to the point of it being hard to code and redstone, it just feels like some features were left unfinished and I wish it wasn’t that way as it’s extra features are some I wish could be in java, like camera shake commands and support for all platforms
What really bothers me is the pvp system we have in mcpe now back then i think combat was much more easier and not much tryhards are in it (and i think hit radius is a little bit wider so non split is far more useful) unlike now it seems its just a game of who can dish the most dmg or someone just completely obliterating u because they have a controller and your not
One of my favorite things about Java is the client side mods - I love Lunar's features (such as optifine and togglesprint), and not having those mods on bedrock is already enough of a reason for me to not use it.
@@pepeshki Astral 'client' etc for bedrock are just resource packs. They dont allow you to add additional modding capabilities (togglesprint, freelook, subtle helpful mechanicsm, etc). Its basically all just aesthetics.
Agree but bedrock Edition dont need clients cuz the most Importent point of clients are there performens mods like optifine and bedrock Edition still runs better then Java even with performens mods like sodium optifine etc
I used to play on bedrock for a long time. I started with ps4, went to iPad, and then went to Java. And I have to say, they all feel like different games. The console edition felt slightly clunky, as the mouse was replaced with the joystick. Bedrock felt more like “regular Minecraft.” What I mean by that is that single player and (non-server) multiplayer dominated it. Thus, people would spend more time on their own worlds, instead of servers. Java edition was far more different however. It was smooth, fast, and it was a huge upgrade. However, the two biggest upgrades were the mods and servers. I played Twilight Forest, Galacticraft, and a few others, and they transformed Minecraft into a new game. Mods are available on iPad, but they aren’t very good. The servers are the best part of Java, though. Hypixel is truly just amazing, with tons of different competitive, casual, and slow games (like Skyblock). I think that Hypixel is absolutely what pushes Java over the top alone. The Minecraft marketplace and character customization is pretty great though.
As someone who primarily plays the Switch version of Minecraft, it’s just sad. The switch version is incredibly laggy. I can’t fly with my elytra more than 50 blocks because I have to let the chunks load in. At random, in my base, the game will freeze because there’s too much stuff. The switch cannot support a game as large as Minecraft. In addition, a lot of the changes and decisions made to Bedrock are primarily made because the have to have Pocket edition in mind, which can be frustrating.
The issue DEFINITELY isn't the size of the game. I mean look at xenoblade 3, it's a massive open world game. The issue is likely a shitty porting to switch, instead. The main issue of having a game on so many platforms, each one has its own things you have to take note of.
I feel you Bro. Thats the reason i quit Minecraft Switch edition and moved on to Java on PC. Honestly i Loved to Just relax on the Couch and Play Minecraft with my pro Controller but whenever i Hit the "endgame" , got all the good farms and finally Had the Materials to build a really cool survival world it Just bothered me too much that I cant use the elytra how ITS Supposed to Work. Now that im playing PC everything works fine and i enjoy Minecraft again
I still miss my days on the original console version of Minecraft, it was so much fun with the survival and spleef game modes, and relaxed vibe to it. Also it wasn’t as washed down in color as bedrock, which for some reason for me it looks cheaper
Same here. I used to play the Xbox 360 version when I was younger, so I recently bought a used copy of Minecraft Xbox One edition for my Series X, and even though that version hasn't been updated for years and has a limited world size, my friends and I still prefer playing it over the Bedrock version whenever we play splitscreen. It just looks and feels 100x better.
I do like both, the biggest annoyances I have when looking at Bedrock is: 1. Insane hostile mob spawns. First time I entered The Nether in Bedrock on a seed, there was at least one Ghast (maybe 2 but I am sure about one) and like 8 or more skeletons, all from when I just exited the portal. And not even all in one part, no some were more to the left some more to the middle/right. On top of that, I just noticed yesterday that skeletons are a bit bs. They shoot way too fast. You can't not use your shield for a second because it makes you get hit. Also even though I could enter The Nether a bit more relaxed, still it didn't take long for me to come across a few skeletons (not much) but mainly 2 Ghasts which them spawning rapidly. I do like that it's easier to knock back the Ghast fireballs in Bedrock. Also the coords on screen without pressing anything or any mods is a nice thing as well. And some of the world generation is just mindblowing on Bedrock. Maybe Java has some better things like you mentioned, but Bedrock has some insane seeds with unexplainable things which really makes it stand out. Seeds of stuff you won't find anywhere on UA-cam on Java. I know it's considered broken world generation, but the fact it's broken actually makes it kind of amazing. The fact base swords are better than axes I also kind of like. It's strange that in Java a tool that's made for cutting is almost always better than a tool literally for combat. And yes I know enchantments, but a big part you would do - especially when not speedrunning - without enchantments. Hell, a wooden axe is as good as a diamond sword, and way earlier available (yes I know you have durability but even then, and when talking about anything above wood besides gold, it's even stronger than a diamond sword). The only sword that's stronger than an axe is a netherite sword which is only one point higher than wood/gold, and is still weaker than stone/iron/diamond. But maybe that last part is kinda nitpicky. As for the marketplace, I get your point. The check on quality should be done but the only way they could do that is by hiring actual players because best way to judge quality is as a "customer". I have the same with website development. I can make what I think is quality but if the customer thinks it isn't then it isn't. But that would make it so they'd probably have to be paid and I can understand that isn't done. Issue is, without the form, many more people - even 12 year olds who watch a video, steal from other people and mods, put it on the marketplace and thats it, while now they might think they don't get away with it until they find out that it isn't actually checked (for as much as I can say that). In the end, best way to make it better is to have experienced, long time players of the Bedrock edition (or even Java) approve of mods, and only if they're approved by those people (as long as they're unbiased and fair) it can get on the marketplace. Especially with it costing money, doing it without approval is a bad thing cause it'd invite bad people from stealing content and parts of mods to sell it as their own. In the end, I do like both versions, some things I prefer on Bedrock, some on Java. I like playing both. If I play unmodded, Bedrock is fine by me. If I want to play with a bunch of OP or cursed mods, Java it is.
java has battle axs that you also use to cut down trees, bedrock has special lumberjack axes that an idiot can use in a fight. java is better at what education aims to be: realistic.
The only reason bedrock was still okay for me was because of how easy it is to invite your friends to play but now on java the essential mod exists which you can do the exact same thing. The marketplace has some of the worst content ever. If someone is reading this and wants actually good maps for bedrock, check out zedafox’s maps because they’re free and really good.
One more thing to remind you from a player of bedrock edition is that from my whole time playing it 85% of the bedrock players wont even look into the marketplace. Why look for paid stuff when u litterally can get free and *better* stuff online. Even java texture packs can be used in bedrock by litterally just porting it with a porter. For worlds i dont even have to say it you alr know where u can get it so yeah
only reason to pay is to support the creator same way you would donate to a texture maker on java, i my self only really bough the only texture i like that i used even in java back in the day with is vanilla bd craft, i have not much interest in other textures, i could get it for free but i wanted support the creator.
I started Minecraft with the Pocket Edition and switched to Java after a year and I don´t know how I survived this mess for an entire year. I´m now playing Java for 5 years and all the mods the community has made are just amazing. I wouldn´t be able to play Minecraft without them. Also, the command blocks are just broken in bedrock. Some commands just not exist and the UI is also very strange.
I started by playing Minecraft back in 1.10 on Java but then went to Bedrock when my old computer broke. I do still Minecraft Java but only when I'm at my dad's, but that isn't very often.

It gets super unresponsive. Autosaves in my 500mb world can soft-lock any of my devices for minutes. I can go to check my inventory for a split second and be stuck there for minutes, it's frustrating Animations lag, and just feels sluggish despite the better "preformance" even with menu animations turned off.
One of my biggest gripes with Bedrock Edition is how you can’t change certain game rules without turning on cheats while making a new world. I personally prefer to play with KeepInventory on, because I just don’t think it’s fun dropping everything you have when you die and potentially losing hours of progress. In Java, I can easily enable this in the world creation menu and leave it at that while still having cheats turned off. I don’t want to enable cheats, I just want to keep my inventory and that’s it. However, if I want to enable this on Bedrock, I HAVE to have cheats enabled and there’s no way to change it once the world is created (and I am unable to earn achievements as a result). It’s not only incredibly frustrating, but it also makes the game less fun for me, and more stressful.
One thing that bedrock has over java is cosmetics. Not the ones from the marketplace though. By making and importing a skin pack (or just using one that someone else made), you can have things like custom capes, wings, halos, horns and quite a bit more that anyone can see (Its better than buying a $20 cape off of Lunar or Badlion). Plus if you don't like the regular 64x64 skins of java, bedrock supports 128x128 skins which are great if you want to add extra details.
I don’t think I’d like those skins for the same reason I don’t like 32x32 texture packs it feels off to me, idk if it’s just the familiarity of 16px but that’s how I feel
@@baitreview True but almost everyone in the bedrock community uses non-marketplace packs. We can still make and import our own packs and the marketplace is well known for being low quality.
My primary concern is that bedrock seems like it might be chained down by its lowest common denominator in computational power. Due to being a cross platform game it needs to run the same game over a range of devices and of course need to be playable on all of them. Since Bedrock was built for phones that could impose quite a limit. Also the modding scene just isn't close to Java as it is, as someone who really likes to run mods that strips away some of the fun. Some cool projects have arisen but it still looks like we're a long way from Create, Betweenlands, or Botania level capabilities.
I first out started playing on bedrock, then I switched to Java. And oh boy it was soooooooo much better. Yeah bedrock is better optimized and easier to play with friends with, but java is just a so much more enjoyable experience in almost every way.
Hi I play bedrock on PC. I will tell you why. I understand Java has mods, and I understand you can still play with friends with the mods. But I love Minecraft, specifically I love playing Minecraft with friends and rtx. I like the simplicity of bedrock, it's really smooth and I pay for realms. The biggest reason is that everyone in my family can play. Most of my family aren't avid PC gamers. It's much easier for them to get into something if all they need is a phone and a controller. Everyone either has a PS4,Xbox,or switch. Because of this, even though I have a PC. I casually love playing on bedrock.
To be honest you have a very fair point, I have seen some comments saying “just make java compatible” Which as a software developer is not a good solution. You see java is kinda slow. As where c++ is very fast. In my opinion they should have recreated java in c++ 1-1 and build in compatibility between the versions. This is more difficult then you can imagine but possible. Then only focus on making bedrock better. Unfortunately small changes like “longer reach” and “slightly different world generation” is inevitable and is something we can adapt too. But as you mentioned bigger changes as incompatible servers , micro transactions and many more are just inexcusable. Great video!
Also making bedrock actually available on all the platforms Java edition works on would help a lot. Even with Microsoft’s free copy of bedrock for Java account holders. What’s the point if I can not install or run bedrock? Did they forget that Java edition was also on Linux or Mac, not just windows 10. (I doubt they forgot, it’s 100% intentional)

Honestly, I played bedrock edition for so long for the sole reason that it’s where all my worlds were, but I reset my pc and forgot to back everything up (😞) This gave me an excuse to move to Java, and it’s so much better!
@@nhcubing it’s the way that it looks and feels, in my opinion. Bedrock edition just feels like it was made to be a mobile game, while Java feels really clean on pc. I could probably go into more depth if I had a clear answer, but I don’t! I just like the version so much more. The fact that it feels “relevant” is kind of another thing. Java is where the best servers are, where (in my opinion) the superior combat system is, etc. That’s just how I feel, though!
I've played Java Edition, Bedrock Edition, and Console Legacy Xbox 360 Edition, and as surprising as it sounds, I prefer Console Legacy over Java and Bedrock Editions and this is due to alot of unique features 4J Studios implemented that are not in Bedrock or Java Editions. Limited World Sizes (Which are easier to manage, I get that this was due to limitations, but it offers a unique experience in itself), small biomes (It doesn't take hundreds to thousands of blocks to get through a biome like it does in Current Gen), ability to Reset the Nether and End in the game without a third party tool, double rail speed, Tutorial Worlds, and many other unique things. These would make for a good Quality of Life Update for Java and Bedrock to implement these features as selectable vanilla options. Bedrock Edition has it's ups and downs. Bedrock Edition is kinda like 'Easy Mode' for non-combat oriented players. Most Mobs are easier to deal with (There are rare exceptions like the Wither Boss), Trident Enchantments are better optimized, Tridents have higher drop rates, Redstone is easier to understand to due lack of Quasi Connectivity, Fishing Rods have six times the durability compared to Java Edition, Shorter Zombified Piglin Aggro Radius, expanded ability to have hidden lightsources under slabs stairs and behind shulker boxes, Two Stacks of Fire Protection IV on Armor Pieces gives you inflammability (meaning you cannot be set on fire), Baby Zombies can jump onto a larger variety of mobs, Drowned have increased Spawn rates, and Structure Mashing (The wonderful bug that mashes generated structures together). Bedrock unfortunately is plagued due to not being able to go back to older versions without using a third party tool such as MCLauncher, meaning alot of the recent nerfs applied can't be worked around within the game and have to use Behavior Packs or third party plugins to get around them. There is also the glitch where persistent mobs can just despawn on chunk borders. Turtles have lower spawn rates as well compared to Java Edition. Also it seems with Bedrock Edition players, alot more seem to be focused on Xbox LIVE Achievements instead of the gameplay experience itself. Phantoms when they generate generate in larger numbers on Bedrock and are more aggressive compared to Java Edition. Java Edition as well has it's ups and down. The enhanced the expansive mod support on Java Edition is just incredible (when used properly), The Sweeping Edge enchantment exists (Which is great for Java Combat), some mobs have enhanced AI compared to Bedrock Edition (Skeletons strafing while firing their bow, Zombies being able to spawn Reinforcements as examples as well as Villagers having an expanded AI), you can go back to older versions of Java Edition within the game itself, Quasi Connectivity with Redstone (Which is good if you have an understanding of Java Redstone), faster healing after eating food (This is a big one, you don't have to sit around for two minutes to heal like you do on Bedrock Edition). You can get above the Nether Bedrock Ceiling on Java and build up there (Unlike on Bedrock Edition where you cannot). Since most Java Players focus on the gameplay experience instead of Xbox LIVE Achievements or Advancements, some don't mind using Plugins or cheats to make matters a bit easier (Such as Disabling Phantoms or adding Custom Enchantments). It's downs are generally harder combat, Tridents are harder to get and Trident Enchantments are not as optimized (Save Loyalty which is actually better on Java than Bedrock), Fishing is slower compared to Bedrock Edition, Riptide use will damage the trident if not hitting a mob (Where as on Bedrock Edition Riptide will only damage the Trident if you hit a mob while using Riptide), Structures will not generally mash together, and Java Edition requires a good PC to use for current versions. So I think at the end of the day, it's player preference. I prefer Console Legacy over the other two, but play on Bedrock Edition primarily due to not being Combat Oriented (Save with Tridents) and love fishing as well as wanting current content. This will not stop me however from playing on a Java Server with Geyser.
Also Bedrock just feels so delayed, like I can't craft as fast as I can on Java, menus are really slow, everything you do just feels slower compared to Java.
it is also very buggy and i was playing with one of my friends with a hardcore type of theme and everyone online while flying instantly died and alot of other things like this have happened like tp glitches too
The success of minecraft java edition is because of the many ways you can play all for free you can have any high developed modpack like RLcraft skyfactory 4 and many others that you can easily play with your friends you can play on any server where you have a million options and you can always improve like new bridge methodes new click methods and so on
There are some Java features that bedrock doesnt have: Custom superflats Amplified worlds Big biomes worlds Ability to chance texture pack while playing in world Hardcore mode Spectator mode Version swicher A lot of commands like Set worldborder Illusioner Giant Killer bunny Spectre arrow Buffet world type Debug world Ability to Pause game There is so much more i dont understand why cabt mojang just add these to bedrock its just so fustrating like legacy concole edition has less world customizibg missing features than bedrock even that it hasnt been updated since 2019! Also bedrock had old world type but they decided to remove it
Some of the stuff you listed are discontinued features which will never be added to bedrock. That said it is confirmed that Mojang is working on a spectator mode for bedrock edition. We do not know when it will make it in the game most likely will come some time around the wild update. As for stuff like hardcore and custom superflats that’s all also been a confirmed feature the devs are working on. But like spectator mode there’s no known due date for those features yet.
I totally agree. Really great video as always! One thing you forgot to mention though is the community. I always liked to play Java because there is a huge community around each aspect of the game and almost every content creator uses Java. On the other hand you have Bedrock with (mostly) a non existent community and no huge content creators (mainly) playing Bedrock.
yeah thats because java is older and bedrock never really got the proper development by notch. he made it buggy and featureless so it remained like that for a long time, which made people not really play it. today it has most of the features and doesn't have a lot of annoying bugs.
The dealbreaker for Bedrock edition for me is that... I can't play it because it's exclusive to Windows 10. Even worse than that, it's an UWP app tied to the Microsoft Store. That means no Linux, and no Steam Deck. The Java version will run on about anything that can run Java, which is basically anything that can run Linux. Bedrock only runs on whatever Microsoft deems a worthy of their game.
I think the reason bedrock feels so off is all the little things. Particles and entities are rendered a bit too bright, texture pop-in is a bit TOO noticable, with grass disappearing at about 4 or 5 chunks away on fancy graphics and 12 render distance. I think the grass pop-in would be slightly better if it used a low-poly model when viewed from a distance, like sugarcane. Basically imagine a destructive performance mod with an equal amount of missing features to QoL/performance improvements
As a bedrock player, (has java edition but doesn't play it because it has no controller support for no reason) it is literally unplayable how broken bedrock edition is, i literally can never get a clean experience in bedrock edition that i just stopped playing Minecraft
It's way more broken than people think it is, the game removes all your items when entering the end portal, shields cover up your entire screen, and the game doesn't even save half of the time
Great video but there are 2 very big things that I feel are absolutely necessary to at least mention. 1. Consistency in game mechanics is a massive advantage to java. 2. Player knowledge. There is some level of game knowledge on the bedrock side but we have java figured out to the extent that a server like scicraft can exist. It means that things like iron farms are much simpler and understandable bringing more videos and content on minecraft strengthening the community.
as a PVP player from both edition for me i like the bedrock combat system more than the java edition, even though its unbalance i have more fun on PVP because of how smooth combos are and keeping the opponent flying in the air for a long time is what satisfy me more than java
Seems like you are biased towards bedrock since combining is a thing in Java and bedrock. You also can play 1.8 or 1.9+ pvp on Java and it is possible to combo in both versions
As a Minecraft Bedrock PC player and content creator, I have a few things I want to address. First of all, I agree with you that the marketplace content isn't well regulated at all; the Minecraft Bedrock community also doesn't like this and we have been trying to change it. Another place where quality control fails is featured servers, as some servers on there are laggy and just really bad. Whoever is in charge of these issues is doing a really bad job, but the Bedrock community knows it is bad and is trying to get it fixed. However, I also want to point out that many of your points were about the parity differences Bedrock has with Java. You said you didn't like them, but for me and other Bedrock players, they are normal, and it feels just as weird to switch to Java for us as it does for you to switch to Bedrock. I also feel that, in light of some recent updates, Minecraft Bedrock is updating to be much more like Java soon (they just had a massive parity update, have another in a beta, and also have the combat update whenever that is released). To be honest, this means that Java gets the better end of the deal, as many of the features that make Bedrock unique will go away, but I suppose it is in the interest of parity. In addition, there is a lot of very good content on Bedrock, both for the marketplace and featured and nonfeatured servers, as long as you look for it.
the main problem i have with bedrock is mods, while on java there is nearly unlimited freedom, restricted by performance and other unsolvable issues, bedrock has very limited freedom in mods and executes the mod feature very poorly
Hear me out java players why hate on the bedrock community when you hate the version why bully the player base and why compare eachother we should be MINECRAFTERS not Have MINECRAFTERS or bedrock MINECRAFTERS
Input speed and redstone limitations, as well as no off-handing are what kill bedrock for me. You can't do anything quickly. You can't re-use a bucket of water fast enough to avoid it overflowing, and many similar small quality of life features from java are missing.

I think both versions are good, they both have ups and downs. And yes, I’m a nine year old using my mom’s account.
The thing is, every “good” thing about bedrock can be added to java in about 5 seconds if you have curseforge or modrinth. Like for example the ESSENTIAL mod adds the “ invite your friends on your world” thing with the added bonus that you can use modded/older versions of the game.

Since 100% of the Java players have access to mods such as sodium or optifine, I consider them as a part of the game
bedrock already has higher render-distance, support for shaders and better performance and while most players would want stuff like holding a torch in your hand to light up the area (forgot what it's called) and having item tag specific textures (what hypixel skyblock texturepacks use), it's not really necessary to get a decent framerate on a potato pc (what I mainly use these mods for)
so as a whole: people wouldn't say no, but don't need it as much in the first place (sorry for bad english btw)

one thing that drove me away from bedrock personally was the discontinuation of the legacy console versions. for so many years that community was promised modding, crossplay, commands, and full java edition parity. when crossplay was announced, we all thought we would be getting all our promises handed to us but instead we got a watered down game with the pocket edition menu and completely different mechanics :/

there are many small differences that none dare to talk about which make it feel uncanny. the fov and bobbing are different, the sounds are different, bedrock looks more saturated especially with grass and leaves, air punches have sound, hotbar looks slightly different (xp bar and opacity), the chat, the arm length is shorter on bedrock (how the arm sticks out on the screen), texture differences, fog, and anti aliasing is different
viewmodel fov being desynced from fov, and fov being forcefully below 120, are very bad. i like to play ULTRAKILL at 140 fov. tf2 is locked to 90 fov, but that's okay, it's a great game. minecraft? 120 fov, but i can use clients to get it up to 140.

Java handles redstone with a hash set, which has it's own issues, but the issues are consistent.
whats lerp?

Very well made video. I've touched Bedrock a few times but it just... doesn't feel like Minecraft anymore. The best way I can put it is that Bedrock encourages creating new items/models/mobs/features for server owners and map makers, while Java encourages building on top of what already exists and being more constrained to 'vanilla' mechanics. Not to mention the microtransactions obviously.
When I think of Bedrock, I think of the emotes and minecoins and custom models. Their main selling point is the marketplace, NOT the game's classic experience. And that totally goes against what Minecraft is to me.

I agree with this, I also find with large red stone builds sometimes their are things that don’t load in if they are too far away
And the reason there hasn’t been a major parity update is because the majority of the community, mainly casual players don’t feel the need for it also it wouldn’t make as much money.

one of the big reasons I think java players hate bugrock is the monetization. on bugrock, it's a "freemium" game where you have to buy texture packs, custom worlds, and skins, when in java you can do all that for free, but you have to purchase access to the game itself. it's such a stupid idea that microsoft decided to fill bugrock with so many microtransactions that any kid with a below-room-temperature IQ (most children, realistically) will beg their parents to waste money on it instead of having it for free, like java does.
There’s that plus there’s so many slight differences in the experiences in both games, like the UI is a console/mobile UI by heart, which makes it annoying for PC users especially switching from Java where the UI is simpler and more usable
shut up for saying kids are dumb

The first instance of minecraft i played was bedrock edition, and it was great with its easy multiplayer system allowing me to join my friends quickly and it also wasn’t as complicated as java may seem.

Java redstone is just a massive bug that is actually useful
Bedrock is just a massive bug
That’s still the way it is. Still hasn’t been fixed.
from my experience as a bedrock player switching to Java, it feels very out of place and weird, but after i played it for a few months i got used to it and find bedrock too simple and boring. (Not saying bedrock is bad)
Nahh as a bedrock player I agree it sucks compared to Java
It's the bedrock UI for me, it feels like a website or a mobile game and they should have kept the same look as pc

@@wilder956 what did I just read
Java is just so much more versatile in terms of what can be made, I don’t think bedrock will ever match that.

It just looks and feels 100x better.
@@ashtonbrown4318 vsync = worse responsiveness , (I think)
Bedrock’s menus are fucking cancer
I do like both, the biggest annoyances I have when looking at Bedrock is:
@@abirdpilguy3211 dude he just left his opinion and commentary on a video what's so nerdy about that

@cewla3348 i dont think most people play minecraft for educational purposes, also its a block game why would it need to be realistic?
The only reason bedrock was still okay for me was because of how easy it is to invite your friends to play but now on java the essential mod exists which you can do the exact same thing.
Java has texture packs, shaders and mods that looks 1000x better than anything on the Bedrock marketplace
@@at_ I can agree with that, its an acquired taste. Imo Its better to have the option to use it than not have the option at all.

@@baitreview thats not a fair compaiison. you can get packs from online. The same packs you use in java.
To be honest you have a very fair point,
I have seen some comments saying “just make java compatible”
Which as a software developer is not a good solution.

In my opinion Java Edition and Bedrock Edition are 2 completely different games.
I 100% wholeheartedly disagree
@@nhcubing in the technical side they are completely different

I think the reason bedrock feels so off is all the little things. Particles and entities are rendered a bit too bright, texture pop-in is a bit TOO noticable, with grass disappearing at about 4 or 5 chunks away on fancy graphics and 12 render distance. I think the grass pop-in would be slightly better if it used a low-poly model when viewed from a distance, like sugarcane.
Basically imagine a destructive performance mod with an equal amount of missing features to QoL/performance improvements
9:20 there is a crossplay mod that you can install on java servers but it ends up being java but with a bedrock feel if you are using the crossplay
I haven't touched Minecraft for over five years and clicked on this video just out of curiosity. My mind is dizzy at how different it is.
toycat gonna be so mad over this
As a bedrock player, (has java edition but doesn't play it because it has no controller support for no reason) it is literally unplayable how broken bedrock edition is, i literally can never get a clean experience in bedrock edition that i just stopped playing Minecraft
It's way more broken than people think it is, the game removes all your items when entering the end portal, shields cover up your entire screen, and the game doesn't even save half of the time
They should just make java stuff run on Xbox, I don't know if that's possible but surely it is
Great video but there are 2 very big things that I feel are absolutely necessary to at least mention.
1. Consistency in game mechanics is a massive advantage to java.
2. Player knowledge. There is some level of game knowledge on the bedrock side but we have java figured out to the extent that a server like scicraft can exist. It means that things like iron farms are much simpler and understandable bringing more videos and content on minecraft strengthening the community.
as a PVP player from both edition for me i like the bedrock combat system more than the java edition, even though its unbalance i have more fun on PVP because of how smooth combos are and keeping the opponent flying in the air for a long time is what satisfy me more than java
combos on java are EXTREMELY satisfying, just hard

@@Skyymon It depends where you look for mods.
the bedrock team let a mod created by someone who works at mojhang get stolen and posted for money on bed rock speak of unregulated
Hear me out java players why hate on the bedrock community when you hate the version why bully the player base and why compare eachother we should be MINECRAFTERS not Have MINECRAFTERS or bedrock MINECRAFTERS
@@Realatom. i personally dont want people to fight over what version u use, but sadly that is the community we are in
Input speed and redstone limitations, as well as no off-handing are what kill bedrock for me. You can't do anything quickly. You can't re-use a bucket of water fast enough to avoid it overflowing, and many similar small quality of life features from java are missing.
