- Part 13 of a longer series on my 1978 Volkswagen Bus electric vehicle (EV) conversion. In this video, I show you a combination of custom fabrication of the stock mustache bar coupled with off-the-shelf products to make a custom rear motor cradle / mount.

😲😲
Nice job on the welding Scotty
Thanks for the rewind to cover the motor to transmission mounting process :)
You are very welcome 🙂.
Apologies for jumping out of sequence, but looking under your bus and seeing the engine in situ, made me think and I guess you’ll need an alternative solution for brake vacuum which would normally come from the petrol engine. Be interested to see what you do when you get to that stage.
Ian, the brake vacuum pump implementation is already done. If you go to the EV Conversion playlist at the end of the video or on my channel page, I discuss the vacuum pump itself in Part 3 and install it in Part 4. Neither of these videos focus on it specifically, so if you still have questions, let me know.
@@FixItScotty sorry, my bad. I’ve gone back and for anyone else, Ep 3, about 26:00 is the discussion. I need to go back and watch the whole thing. It’s an epic!
