FOR REAL! I cannot wait. I want to buy a RX or other hybrid SUV for myself, but cannot find one that is broken... lol its the only way i buy them anymore.
Since this battery is not actively heated and uses LPF batteries that don't work in freezing temperatures, it most likely work only in California or Florida. Anywhere else you will periodically turn your Prius to an ICE car with some errors related to traction battery. I would love some winter test references if I am wrong
I’m having trouble getting a hold of the lithium battery for my Gen 2. Nexpower website is sold out on basically everything on their page. Anyone know why? Or where I can maybe get a hold of a lithium battery? Thank you
Often the OEM battery just needs 3 or 4 modules replaced. Buying new all the time is what defeats the circular economy and defeats the whole purpose of burning less fuel....carbon emissions and global warming.
@@TheHybridGuy If they can follow your video, there are many similar for NiMH modules in youtube. Is this video about assisting customers to manage costs/options or up selling a new battery pack? Why buy a whole pack of 20+ cells vs replacing a few?
@@ancelb9590 What most consumers do not understand is capacity reduction on used modules. Also most people think you can simple swap modules and have the pack be ok. Reconditioning and replacement of these modules isn't complicated but it does take time and expertise to repair a NiMH battery properly for maximum life. With Nexpower LFP you are maximizing your fuel economy which will translate to greater savings over time vs used nickel. NiMH is a great part of technology but there are better battery solutions out there.
@@TheHybridGuy that's mostly so, but at what cost? A cost/benefit assessment would be useful vs just buying new all the time. That's destructive to the environment on multiple fronts. Creating unecessary e-waste with the dumped Ni MH cells while simultaneously driving up the carbon emissions cost of mining for lithium and graphite.
@@ancelb9590Think about realistically how long a new NiMH pack lasts. 10-15 years and if maintained it could last a lifetime. If you are worried about carbon emissions start with education on how to prolong the life of the battery so you don't have to ever change it. LFP offers the best of both worlds a chance to start over and get a fresh battery (NiMH can be recycled and make into new ones thus lower the carbon footprint) and then with LFP you have a new battery that gives you better fuel economy and will last 10-15 years. If maintained it will last longer. Its about education on how to properly care for your battery. If you want to further this discussion you can email me.
cant wait to see the results updates!
man its been awhile since ive seen a upload! i hope all is well
It’s been wild for sure. More content coming and look for some really good stuff here!
I have a Toyota Estimate hybrid and would like to see if any LFP battery fits my model.
I think it's a short life battery on prius that diminishes charge cycles with these constant small brake charging. If it was plugin usage no problem.
Great video!
I checked this out for my Gen3 Prius based off your recommendation, seems like they are currently sold out of a lot right now.
More batteries are heading your way. October shipment. Sign up for my newsletter!
Are they still in business? I can't find anything directly from nexcell themselves.@@TheHybridGuy
any updates after two months?
watching for the GS450h!

Please please please where did you get the visor for your screen??????? Great video by the way
I honestly cannot remember where I got that visor from. It was a gift from some other prius owner.

With the new version 2.5 it now works in below freezing weather just fine no issues.
Whats the difference between v2 and v2.5 and how do you tell if you have v2 or v2.5
Hi, v2 and v2.5 is not easy to tell. You can email them and see what version you have. The difference in the 2.5 is improved cold weather performance.
Are these available for the 2016 Prius Two Gen4?
Yes of your car uses nickel metal

Thanks. But not all people know how to replace and properly repair NiMH batteries.
