- Miss Universe 2018 Reaction: My yearly reaction of Miss Universe has turned into a little tradition here on my channel, Miss Universe has been a huge part in my life since a little girl it's basically our "superbowl" in my family. I've also competed in pageants before which is why I have a deeper obsession/connection with it. I hope you guys enjoy this years reaction!
Disclaimer: YES there's ALOT of spanish in this video... hope you dont mind. Also like I mentioned in the video, everyone has the right to have their own opinion, because I like or root for a specific country and may not like another doesn't mean anything.

Undeniably when Miss Philippines answered that last question, she literally slammed the door. Even if you're rooting for your own country, you can't do anything than to give Miss Philippines the crown. The 3 ladies are equally beautiful. But that last question will definitely determine the winner.

Catriona in my opinion is the most dedicated candidate PH ever had by far. Everything she did in this pageant is just amazing. From that National Costume which she literally embody the whole PH by wearing something coming from the 3 major island of PH. The gown she wore on the evening gown competition was inspired by "Ibong Adarna" which is a Fiction of a Magical Bird. The Red gown or shall I say the Lava gown was inspired by the literal lava of the Mayon Volcano which is located in her hometown Albay, the ear-cuff she wore along with the gown is 3 stars and the sun which you can find in the PH flag and also designed by her. She deserved this crown, she was born for it. Mabuhay, Philippines!

Fun fact: Catriona Gray's red magma gown is inspired by the iconic Mayon Volcano located in Albay, Bicol Region in the Philippines. She worked closely with the designers in terms of the jewelry and dress designs. She's an artist herself, thus she used her creativity to carry the Philippines in every single aspect of the competition. Her earcuff symbolizes the "Three stars and a Sun" in the Philippine flag. That's actually her own idea and a jewelry designer in the Philippines helped her realize it.

Catriona even before joining beauty pageants 3yrs ago had already been very HANDS-ON the non-profit organization called Young Focus International which aims to improve the mental, physical, and social well-being of young people in poor communities by means of education, health care, and personal support. That's why her answer is sooo easy for her it's genuine, straight from her heart & based on her true experience.
True most answers in Miss Universe are rehearsed but you can see that Catriona is genuine person her smile is addicting. Love Vietnam she is fierce.

South Africa is gorgeous and well-poised, too, but yeah, Venezuela answered better. I guess it's because South Africa is the crowd's favorite alongside Philippines and Puerto Rico. They had established themselves early, so I guess the judges had conditioned their minds that South Africa is more Ms Universe worthy. I could be wrong though.@ijakes

The edge of Cat is that Filipinos are pageant-crazy; hence, louder online, but if you had checked the betting sites, they have all those three as favorites. There were several other Filipino couturiers dressing up other candidates as well. There was Ecuador, Nicaragua, Cambodia, Nepal, Japan and a host of others. Likewise, a Filipino mentor/trainers were also serving many bets, such as Nepal and Vietnam as examples. Truly this MU2018 and with the win of Catriona was a benchmark for Philippine participation and merits.

Hispanic: Someone that comes from A Spanish Speaking country.
Spanish it’s not the official language of The Philippines, Even though I know that they were colonized by Spain some people speak broke Spanish and they’re use some Spanish words and Spanish names. But Philippinos are not Latinos so simple. Stop saying philipinos are Latins .

FYI, Hispanic applies to all former Spanish colonies whether or not they still speak Spanish today because it's all about cultural affinity with Spain and not just about language. Philippine culture is heavily influenced from Spanish especially when it comes to its customs, traditions, arts, literature, food, religion, etc. not to mention how many Filipinos have mixed Spanish and Mexican ancestry as a result of its 300 years of Spanish colonization under Mexico and that alone automatically qualifies you as Hispanic.

Been watching all reaction videos for Miss Universe 2018, but i led my way back in this video after 8 days. This is so far my most favorite reaction video. Very authentic, and i loved how each of you have different favorites, but atleast ended up convinced that Miss Philippines deserved the crown!
