Tamiya 1/35 Schwimmwagen Type 166 - Kit Review

A review of Tamiya's highly detailed, German, Type 166 Schwimmwagen, in 1/35 scale, Kit No. 35224, released in 1998.
This kit is a totally new re-work, with additional parts, mouldings and details, of Tamiya's classic Schwimmwagen, Kit No. MM103, first released in 1970.
This upgraded model kit, features a highly detailed interior and exterior, driver figure, vehicles accessories, a complete engine, with optional open/closed engine compartment lid, Engine Mesh, markings for several vehicles, including Tactical and Divisional insignia, and a standard painting guide for German Schwimmwagen vehicles.

In Australia these kits cost between $18 and $20, plus postage of course. I have seen them advertised coming out of Hong Kong for about the same Australian Dollar equivalent, for the kit, and for the postage. They don't seem to get much cheaper than that except during the occasional Sale.
