It’s finally happened. The reign of Hooxi is now over as G2 have sent him to the bench and have begun their search for a new IGL.
It's been a rollercoaster few years - filled with memes, sub-par HLTV ratings, and even a couple big wins.
One big question remains: who will lead NiKo and M0nesy?

They're totally different person. A Tier 2 team will recruit HooXi and he will never be mentioned again in Tier 1 events.

@@zettour.no… in previous versions of g2 even with nexa. They have strong defined roles while the roles in this new one are all overlapping. There is a world this team will be worse than hooxi and nexa
@@sentryion3106 Saying they had "defined roles" is a joke. HooXi was either a human flashbang or baiting. nexa was playing roles that he had zero comfort in. NiKo was doing everything all at once. huNter was supposed to be the lurker, but he just got lost doing nothing around zero game plan half the time. The only ones with any level of comfort was m0NESY, but he's the AWPer and you're suppose to play around him. Sure, they had defined positions if you squint hard enough and just looked up what they are on tableau. In reality, that team was already a clusterfuck role-wise, especially because they lost jks.
They have overlapping positions with malbs in this lineup sure, but they would've had them with the previous lineup as well if they all played where they were comfortable with. They're adding 2 new players so the shuffling of positions is normal. Are we going to act like Vitality, FaZe, etc. didn't have the exact same problem? And it isn't as if malbs and NiKo are the same player. Malbs shares as much with huNter as he does with NiKo (basically 1/3 of their positions). Meanwhile, frozen is literally eschat-ropz. If anything, this an opportunity for them to solidify NiKo and huNter's roles since NiKo right now is just "star rifler" who is sometimes aggro, sometimes lurking, sometimes anchoring, sometimes baiting, sometimes getting baited, etc. Put aggro and anchor duties onto malbs, move NiKo into a true Rotator player, keep huNter as primary lurker and then we have a much more specialized team. Because right now it feels like 2016 MOUZ with NiKo except they aren't a Tier 2 team solely due to m0NESY's existence.
Plus, we overrate the value of roles/positions a lot. Unless you're talking about the exact same type of player or role players (players who specialize in excelling at one role), it's not that big of a factor. Teamwork, firepower, game plan, set strats, etc. are more important.
TL;DR, Previous G2 was dogwater and there's no way new G2 could be any worse.
@@zettour. malbs tried anchoring before and it didn’t look great. He looked his best as a rotator. Forcing him in anchor is a big question mark.
Snax is literally a side grade to hooxi. Sure he can aim better but gamer legion t side is one of the worst in pro cs.
@@sentryion3106 He's a large site anchor. Only reason he doesn't do it is because M80 needed him as rotator. For small sites, that's Snax/HooXi territory. malbs already plays Ramp which is the biggest loss for G2 on Nuke from the -jks move. Plus, he plays Vertigo A Anchor, which has been a pain point for NiKo.
Snax is an upgrade. He can aim better, he can actually anchor small sites, he has better utility usage, and he calls solid CS. The reason you think GamerLegion has bad T-sides is because their top maps are Overpass and Nuke, two historically CT-sided maps. They also start a lot of their Nuke games (where they lose terribly) on T-side so they never play CT-side apart from against Heroic at Katowice. Definitely nothing to write home about on GL T-sides, but the same should be said of G2 who hasn't been a good T-side team for months now. Their go-to Inferno T-side is just not good anymore. The only reason they even have a good T-side win percentage on Ancient is because their CT-side is so terrible. Let's not even get started on Anubis where G2 have become worse on T-side despite overall making progress on the map due to good CT-side setups (and m0NESY).

for me the problem with G2 is, Niko's Ego and from what im guessing is that he is trying to speak over the IGL when its importan match/moments, thats what i get from watching him for years, so it does make sense that he goes for a IGL role, think its gonna be a blast when he is a IGL gonna be fun watching him! :)

It's not hooxi's fault for g2 downfall. It's the management for dropping jks for nexa... and the transition from csgo to cs2. All players struggle like hunter. So how can you win when the team don't fragged.

Ngl not sure why we signed Snax, what role that will fill. I don't remember his heyday as much since I only started watching around 2017, but I don't think he was much of an entry fragger. Man, I'm disappointed that we kicked HooXi. I always liked him. He played to set up his stars, not try to frag out himself, and he often had major impact rounds. We're going to struggle for awhile :(

Maybe i have an idea as a solution, if this roster fails, i would cut Snax and Taz from G2, also Peca as a general manager, higher a mental couch, add Vorborg as a couch, and Hooxi as assistant couch. Also cut a paycheck to Niko and hunter for their inconsistancy.
