- Star Wars (18.8 BBY): Coruscant Nights Vol. 1 - JEDI TWILIGHT Part 1 of 2 (Restored, remastered & Unabridged AUDIOBOOK)
This hard to find audiobook was in poor condition and has now been fully restored and remastered. I do not think this novel was released in Audiobook format to the general public, many years - so please enjoy!
This is a slight departure from my current work organizing works chronologically from the Old Republic Era... expect me to be 100% focused on the Old Republic until every novel, novella, & short story has been organized and made available in audiobook format.

PART ONE
Story Line:
With the dark ascension of the Empire, and the Jedi Knights virtually wiped out, one Jedi who escaped the massacre is slated for a date with destiny-and a confrontation with Darth Vader.
Jax Pavan is one of the few Jedi Knights who miraculously survived the slaughter that followed Palpatine's ruthless Order 66. Now, deep in Coruscant's Blackpit Slums, Jax ekes out a living as a private investigator, trying to help people in need while concealing his Jedi identity and staying one step ahead of the killers out for Jedi blood. Others search for the elusive Jax too. Hard-boiled reporter Den Dhur and his buddy, the highly unorthodox droid I-5YQ, have shocking news to bring Jax-about the father he never knew.
But when Jax learns that his old Jedi Master has been killed, leaving behind the request that Jax finish a mission critical to the resistance, Jax has no choice but to emerge from hiding-and risk detection by Darth Vader to fulfill his Master's dying wish.
Interesting Points:
Grey Paladins:
The Coruscant Nights novels introduce a splinter faction of Jedi Knights, called the GREY PALADINS, that do not use lights sabers. Instead, they have mastered blasters, knives, and various forms of martial arts (non-force assisted) to defend themselves.
Trilogy or Quadrology:
Star Wars: Coruscant Nights Vol. 1: Jedi Twilight is the first installment of the Coruscant Nights trilogy by Michael Reaves, which were released between June 2008 and January 2009. It takes place three months after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
An additional novel, The Last Jedi, by Michael Reaves and Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff was released four years later in February 2013, transforming the Coruscant Nights Trilogy into the Coruscant Nights Quadrology. This novel's original title was, Jedi Dawn, which was changed prior to its release as the title, Jedi Dawn, had already been used for another Star Wars book.
Antarian Rangers:
Coruscant Nights Vol. 4: The Last Jedi introduces the ANTARIAN RANGERS, a unique security force of non-Force-users who did not fear the power of the Jedi. Instead, they actively sought to assist them and dedicated their lives to serve as support troops for the Jedi Order.

Enjoy!
Love Star Wars audiobooks , particularly "preDisney era"
Agreed. There is a huge difference in the plot quality and plot complexity - to start! They miss this "" edgy-ness" of the EU, unfortunately
They new game is a actually pretty good but it is set during the Empire strikes back
Christopher Hurt has to be my favorite audiobook narrator for the Star Wars Rise of the Empire era. His reading of Milenium Falcon and Death Star were also wonderful-partially because of that voice of his.
I agree completely!
In January / February, expect the entire Coruscant Nights Trilogy to be re-released using 100% A. I. (and no more annoying adverts)
All praises to this channel this has been my favorite channel since I found it. I love whoever’s behind this. Thank you so much for creating this channel and just putting out dope shit you’re the man whoever you are.
Thank you very much! 🤗
We have so much more on the way
Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to upload these! I really hope they stay here on UA-cam for everyone to have access to. These Legends/EU books are fantastic.
I hope so too!
I miss all the rich lores and outstanding stories of the EU❤
You're doing God's work here, thanks so much. It looks like Disney aren't making audiobook versions of their Legends Essential Collection releases anymore, so having these goes some way to making up for that.
Thank you for that... it makes it worth it!
Eventually Disney will come after this channel. Harry Potter gets wiped every 3 weeks off UA-cam. CBS wiped out a radio play show last week. I use audio books so I can do chores. And no. Some days you don't want to read the book. ...
Sometimes you can't read on the go. Enjoy this while it lasts.
I was about to say exactly this. Unabridged Star Wars is so hard to find sometimes.
Great handle!😂
Sorry, great handle 😂💯
Thank you for putting out these videos? You do a great job!
I appreciate that!
The Coruscant Night trilogy were some of our earliest projects and we are looking forward to redoing them and doing the stories the finish & polish that they deserve! I hope you check out our latest video, which is a Sneak Peak (Intro through Chapter 7... 1 hour & 40 minutes) of our first project, Death Star. This will give you an idea of how the Coruscant Nights trilogy will be re-made in 2025!
This series is one of the best SW novels I have ever read/listened to. I didn't know that this author had written so many SW novels, and all of them are very good...
Agreed.
He is one of my favorite SW authors... He recently passed away after a long fight with Parkinson's Disease... I often wonder how much more he would have written, if that was not the case 😢
It is also a reason why his later books were co-authored... he really fought to do what he loved best!

This is timely - I was planning to start reading this very novel in a couple weeks. Thanks for all of your hard work!
Hope you enjoy it!
I read these books a few years ago, and out of the 90 star wars books I've read so far, these still rank as some of my favorite. The author is really good at delivering a well-paced story and making memorable characters that you end up invested in. The author also guest wrote some number of episodes of The Batman Animated Series too.
If you enjoy the series, be sure to read The Last Jedi (unrelated to the movie), and then Death Star by Michael Reaves and Steve Perry! Death Star ties together this series as well as The Medstar Dualogy.
@@patrickpalen931 that's awesome! I've read Shadow Hunter, Death Star and Shadow Games, which are also by Reaves, but I've yet to check out the CN trilogy, the Last Jedi and the Medstar Duology, so I'll definitely be reading those sometime this year. He's fast becoming one of my favorite Star Wars authors.
One of my favorite series. Recommend reading Shadow Hunter, Shatterpoint, and the MedStar series to better understand the characters.
Need shadow Hunter and medstar unabridged!
@@bigbird2240 I recommend the Essential Legends Collection unabridged audiobook of Shadow Hunter. Not sure if there are any options for MedStar. If not, I can fix that. 😉
@@bigbird2240 I will definitely do Shadow Hunter... MedStar I & II, I actually don't have 😢
Hopefully, we can get someone to do those for us 🤔
@@decadebird Agreed. I have both and will get the old version on line in the near future... MedStar I & II would be greatly appreciated! 😋
@@decadebirdThe narrator for that was enjoying every moment of that recording. I didn’t think it was possible to chew scenery as a narrator, but he did so in the most glorious fashion imaginable.
Thank you. This is one of few EU books I never read but always liked the idea of the story
You're welcome! 😋
Finally an unedited Star Wars audioback to fall asleep to.
4 in this series alone, in fact 🤭
How can you sleep when every 2 minutes a booming commercial comes on, and sometimes they are those horrible hour long documentary length commercials. You have to roll over in bed every couple of minutes to wait 5 seconds and hit the skip ad button. But yeah, great sleep book haha.
@@RogersGirl88bro I’m falling asleep at work listening to this lol
Great job. Love listening to these at work , 3rd shift over night by myself in grocery store so definitely gets me through it
I've been a fan of Perry and Reaves ever since "Shadows of the Empire", "Shadow Hunter" and what I jokingly call "Battle Sturgeons." This is a treat. I thank you, truly, though the ads breaks the book's flow.
Thank you 🤗
This would actually fall under cyberpunk fiction i love this!
This is awesome I've never read this I own shatterpoint and always wanted to hear more to Nick's story thank you for the uploads I went back and thumbs uped every video hope your viewership grows can't wait for the rest and to see what else you have up your sleeve
Thank you very much!
This book is already so good thank you for uploading these!!
Glad you enjoy it!
One of my favourite series, as well!
I was just thinking about reading Coruscant Nights thanks for this.
You are welcome!
Man I'm 2 hours in and its started really well, here's hoping it continues at such quality...
Thank you so much!
The series gets even better in Coruscant Nights, Volume 2 - Street of Shadows ... parts 1 & 2 are already released!
Thank you for the entire channel. Excellent stuff.
Thank you so much ... much more to come!
I read the last Jedi the other week. Very much enjoyed it. Didn’t know there were other had pavan stories. Thanks for sharing
There should be 4 books in total (check the play list on my channel, with links to all of them)... As Decade Bird commented earlier, checkout Shadow Hunter, Shatterpoint, & the 2 MedStar books (Decade Bird will release these 2 shortly in audiobook format) for more of Jax Pavan's back story 😋
Thank you
You're welcome
I’ve been looking for this for a long time, thank you!
You ar welcome... there is so much more to come!
Awesome. 🎉. Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Great work mate. Im so happy i discovered your channel. The death star books were great and im throughly enjoying this book. Thank you very much 🤘🤘
You are welcome!
I am taking a few very old sets of cassettes, repairing, and then remastering them.
It is a shame these have never been available before - the Coruscant Nights series brings new insights into the struggle following Order 66... as well as the Jedi offshoot - the Grey Paladins - all really great stories!
Thanks for the upload 👍
I can't wait for part 2. I tried to find it on audible and it wasn't even there or anywhere else I looked.
Part 2 of Jedi Twilight is released... soon to be followed by Streets of Shadows (Parts 1 & 2)
Street of Shadows:
Part 1: ua-cam.com/video/sOV81xw1UvY/v-deo.html
Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/AGA0ZdEOSRw/v-deo.html
The AI voices you have been using recently are very well made. Will you ever apply them for the republic commando series of books? The available audio options have been either incomplete or poorly narrated
Thank you for that... we try to improve on every release! Josh Adams is doing super work on the Republic Commando series already (one of my inspiration tbh), so we won't take on a project that we know he will cover in the future... with that said, we will create multiple Commando short stories and are looking earnestly at the Imperial Commando: 501st novel.
We will start off 2025 by covering the 2 MedStar novels (check out our MedStar: Intermezzo (audiobook based on the short story), which was a "testing ground" for the voices and tone for future MedStar audiobooks). These 2 novels were previously only covered in (very) Abridged format... ours will be DARK, which I believe was the author's original intent ("war is hell", etc.)!
NICE! Keppem comin maaaan!
You have my promise on that!
In the name of Sheev Palpatine. Thanks for your service.
Thank you for reading and enjoying the stories - that makes it worth doing 👍🏼
Thank you so much. I've been looking for this for forever. Part 2 when??
Very soon!
Part 1 of book 2 should be ready in the next 1-2 days! Also look out for 8-10 new audiobooks of stories from the Old Republic (all in post production now)
It is currently processing / uploading to UA-cam ... it is coming TONIGHT!
How am I just finding this page!
Keep it on hand... muchore is on the way!
A lightsaber together with the force is annihilating weapon of mass destruction like Magneto with a ball of steel. Yet they use it with hands in combat, don't cut entire plains of stormtroopers in half. Why is this so??
... to give the storm troopers a fighting chance, I think 😂🤭😂
They would leave themselves wide open if they launched the lightsabers at troopers with the force
Are these available for download?
They all will be shortly on my Patreon site... they will also all be chaptered and packaged in a way that is easy to read (and organise)
What is funny is they say don’t have kids because it is a stressful headache that takes a lot of work. And yet they say instead a mother could be partner at a law firm, which is a stressful headache doing that much difficult work
There's a author's mistake when nick is in front of Vader he keeps calling Carr vaster ballawei leader ballawei commander which is wrong ballawei is what they called the prospectors the enemy not themselves just saying
Interesting comment... I am now going to find it and see if I can glean any more insights from the text 🤯
@@TheArchivistPublishing yeah Carr is the lorr pellik the leader of the u.l.f (upland liberation front) lol I re read it just this week finished last chapter this morning lol its good you really see the huge difference in the cannon of star wars over the years too
@@nicholausmills548 I also checked into it ... nice catch! I am surprised I have not seen that mentioned before as an inconsistency on sites such as Wookiepedia, etc. 👍👍👍
Come on no commercials during. Hope it was a mistake. I was sleeping
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you
Wish he would write 3 more
So do I! 🙏🏼🤗🙏🏼
His book call Death Star was pretty good also
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
♥️♥️♥️
I'm split. Reaves is very good rethoricly n has good ideas, but he too often starts rambling without anything actually happening. It makes his stuff a piece of work to enjoy, at times.
I just wanted to let you know I really appreciate what you did here with this book! Outstanding❤ And finding the old school Star Wars books from the EU is like finding Gold Now In a desert of Garbage Soy Enfused woke Books and movies Disney is making now. Kathleen Kennedy ripped the fan base apart for Star Wars On purpose in a cruel way. Instead of bringing people together she divided them. I walked away from Star Wars because of her hateful bullshit towards the fans and what she did to the OG characters Making them all dysfunctional losers Especially Luke skywhisker.Han Solo was a great father in the expanded universe and she made him into a dead beat dad And Obi wan kenobi intp a bumbling buffoon. But channels like yours always bring me back to loving Star Wars again. We really need to get Dave fulloney in there running things. He's practically George Lucas's adopted son and knows more about Star Wars than anyone else. And would hire people that love Star Wars I want to make good stories again Like the expanded universe used to.Sorry for the rant but It just really sucks That we can't get good stories like this anymore. Can't wait for the next upload thank you!
Ah dammit, I was in total agreement with you until the comments about supposed "wokeness" The issue with bad stories is always bad storytelling not supposed PC woke, whatever that is supposed to be
I hear you regarding the old versus new. These Legends stories are completely solid stories! I have noticed ideas from many of the Legends books taken and sprinkled into the newest stories... OK, I accept that... but SW Fans also want to experience them as they were originally intended!
Hopefully, you get a small taste of that with these 😋
@Jaz1968 I think he was speaking generally, not specifically
I feel for you ...
I recently listened to The Princess and the Scoundrel audiobook, which was very well written and presented, but really lacked the "grit" one would expect from Han & Leia, as seen in The Courtship of Princess Leia and Tatooine Ghost. Actually, I was very disappointed to have the Hapes Cluster, Hapan Battle Dragons, and Prince Isolder ommitted completely more so than changing some details of Han & Leia's wedding, as the Hapans add something special to the SW Galaxy, as well would have opened up many opportunities for Disney to add entirely new storylines within the Hapes Cluster (ok, to be fair the Hapan Gun of Command was a bit silly ... but still 🤣😂🤣)
I don’t like the AI voice D:
The main voice is Christopher Hunt (a real person) 🙈
You can easily tell if it's a computer generated narration. This is not, obviously.
