  • The course gives an overview on how to minimise damage to the environment whilst conducting exploration and mining activities.
    Before being able to hold a mineral claim in Opal Prospecting Area 4 or on the property 'Wyoming', the environmental awareness course must also be completed in addition to the safety awareness course.
    The course gives an overview on how to minimise damage to the environment whilst conducting exploration and mining activities, and covers many issues including:
    • Impacts on flora and fauna
    • Prevention of soil erosion
    • Subsidence impacts
    • Mullock management
    • Aboriginal or historic sites
    • Puddling operations
    Once you have watched the video, you MUST undertake the following steps to have the training recognised with the NSW Resources Regulator:
    STEP 1: Download and complete a statutory declaration confirming you have watched and understand the course material.
    STEP 1: Scan or take a photograph of your identification document/s (driver's licence - front and back/passport - details page) and your signed statutory declaration.
    STEP 2: Submit the images/scans of your ID and stat dec by email to nswresourcesregulator@service-now.com
    If you do not have a driver's licence or passport, you will be required to provide 100 points of ID to verify your identity.
