I own it, added a double domed sapphire and 20mm strapcode milled clasp it really completed it. I love it!
Probably the right move... that candy bar cyclops is gross...
That is my only complaint on the watch. The cyclops spoils it. Was it difficult to change to the sapphire?

Stunning colour combination on this piece. I have no issue with the magnifier but a sapphire crystal would have been nice. Usual Seiko bracelet- OK but should at least have a milled clasp. A great watch on the wrist nonetheless. Nice thorough review.
Neither am i a fan of the monster, but after trying it on, woh i got to have it.
The 42.4mm diameter fits really well even on a small wrist liked mine 6 & 1/2 inch, either with a steel bracelet or Seiko Strap.
I've been tossing up between this watch and the SRPD25 for a few months now, unable to decide and waiting for a good price. Just this weekend I found an online retailer based here in Australia that had them at $389 AUD (just under $300 USD).... an AMAZING price. But I still wasn't sold on that blue bezel. Your video absolutely tipped me over the edge. Straight to the checkout page and I've got one on its way to me. Super happy with my decision. Thanks for helping :D

@@ash9058 On the wrist right now... I think I'm happy with it. Not sure whether it will be a long-term keeper, but I'm enjoying it for right now. I think at that price it was a good deal. Two of the things I thought might be issues are actually ok: 1. I was unsure about how the colour of the bezel would look, but it's actually more subdued than the promo photos and I like that. 2. Also, the red minute hand I'm not a huge fan of, but I hardly notice it IRL so that's another win 😁
I've one of these watches. The best diver watch I have. The Lumibrite glowing in the dark is awesome and holds on for a very long time. Well made, the movement is hacking, which I love.

Good honest review. I have one of these. I don't mind the cheap clasp too much and the bracelet itself feels really solid. I have experience with pin and collar and these are easy to size.

I have the SRPD25 with the dark blue dial and black bezel. The lumi isn’t that bright, but maybe bc I haven’t worn it out yet and just had it sized. Glad I didn’t do it myself with that paper clip bc it had like 2 pins and a one is tiny and easy to loose. Anyway, is this Pad version suppose to have more lumi from the other 4th. gen monsters or are they supposed to be the same?

if you want seiko made in japan, ensure that 2 code from right contain letter J means japan and in day contain japanese letter, fix that one is from japan, I have that one like on the video is made in japan, but the seiko on that video is not made in japan for sure

Why are they called monsters? Is it due to the Cyclops eye/bar? if it is, surely is it not pretty weird to want to remove the feature that is the origin of the name for this iconic watch...?
First generation of the watch was very ugly had a lot of odd shapes curves answer the name came from and second generation had monster like teeth dial

Sorry but Seiko ruined the Monster with the 4th generation. The case is too smoothed out having lost its unique cutouts and shape. It’s like it was made to be less offensive and lost its edge in turn. The old one was only 47mm lug to lug (with straight end links that hid neatly under the case). This new one is 48.5mm and the actual lug to lug is even longer because of the protruding male end links (probably more like 52 mm). And that candy bar cyclops is hideous! So glad I have a 3rd generation SZSC003 with the 6R15 (did a sapphire swap to nuke the cyclops). Gen 1-3 Monsters (especially the shark tooth Gen 2) are a much better, more unique, classic Seiko Monster. I have zero interest in buying this new bastardized Monster.
I thought so too but the 4th gen is actually far more wearable on a daily basis compared to the earlier gens. It's really nice.

Still the same crap bracelet. Why do people still buy these?? The Heimdallr’s v2 clones blow the pin and collars off the Seikos’ for 1/3 the $. Next…
Many, especially collector,s prefer originality and history over any copy despite the specs. Same reason people pay $$$$ for a Rolex milsub when steinhart makes a homage with better specs. To each there own as value system are different.
Also homage wouldn't even exist without Seiko having spent the $$ to design, market, and develop the movement which is a huge cost homages don't incurr.
