The big problem in trying to communicate in any foreign language isn't speaking it, it's trying to understand (and almost instantly respond) to what someone is saying to you when they fire that language back at you at full speed. It's like drinking from a fire hose.
💯 😂
😅😅😅😅😅
that’s why it’s best to listen to full speed, not slow Spanish audio that some YT teachers do
You should try CI and start at a ultra beginner level and slowly work your way up, whilst also adding in normal full speed, native audio listening
Love your page Patri, Thank you so much!
Thanks Patry, I do live in Spain and although I knew some of the ways I found out by no means all. A very enlightening lesson
Love your enthusiasm, delivery, and explanations, with the English translation given, Patry....really helpful, thank you so much...Jonathan
I just moved to Spain and NEEDED this video. gracias Patry :)
Very useful. Will try in Spain. Rgds Dr Sim
Just discovered your channel Patry, great intermediate content!! Subscribed. ¡Mil gracias!
Gracias a ti! Enjoy it!
¡Qué chulo! Aprendí mucho. Gracias. :) :)
I've seen so many of your vids and shorts. How did I miss this one!!! damn fine vid.
You are better then duolingo
I literally used to learn on duolingo and i learned 2 words everyday and now that i found you im learning at least 20 words everyday and im planning to move from Lithuania to Madrid or Benidorm next year and i actually Love Spain so much ive been to Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Benidorm, and Alicante so Thanks
More better than those languages apps, simple, put you real in a scenario like in a restaurant, bar etc.
Muchos Gracias for this video, despite I only know 15 to 20 words in España., which its help for developing communication skills.
3:13 I have visited north of Valencia several times (up to 10 years ago) and on every occasion the nightly menu del dia was bread, a drink and main course. I have never been asked what I would like for primero or postre. Also, it doesn’t matter how many times you ask for the menu or try to order. When the owner/ waiter is ready, usually between 11.00 and 11.30 pm, he would put a small table out on the pavement and take my order !
Quite useful, thanks ❤
In Valencia always see if you can book a table. From recent experience!
Muchísimo gracias
I liked the video and your energy...
Thanks! 😊👍🏻
Love this video very useful. I am headed to Valencia soon and can imagine the waiter doing a double take when I say ‘Me cobras por favor ‘
Very cool video Patricia 🤝
Your accent speaking English is excellent
Thanks, I’ve been in the UK for 9 years so I think it’s stuck with me now!
I guess English is not your native language.
Gracias
Your Spanish accent is excellent. Just like a native Spanish speaker! 😂
🤣 I know right? Not bad for a girl from Madrid! 😜
I'm not even learning Spanish, but I sort of am now as I can't stop watching your videos lol, you are captivating ❤
I am using cerve and birra for the beer order as my friends here do :)
In Salamanca I have not seen a lot of menus del dia but I think i have just been to gastrobars not restaurants 😊 bares de barrio for the win
Your the best
Really good video
Gracias! Really happy you liked it! 👍🏻😊
Nice Video. If you don't want to spend lots of time in learning language then it is best way to learn some most useful phrase. and that too for some most repetitive conditions. Like in Medical condition what to say.. In Airport what to say...in Restaurant...etc. Here there is a book which have such most frequently used phrases in Portuguese, German, Spanish, Italian and French. Go for it. “START SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGES: TRAVEL GUIDE FOR CONVERSING IN EUROPEAN LANGUAGES.” this book will definitely help to use European language without learning it.
Muchas gracias Pablo!! 👍🏻😊😎🇪🇸
🔝 really and good beautiful teacher, gracias por la lección entonces yo quiero mucho más para mejorar mi español, kisses y besos dall'ItaliA, vamos
Muchas gracias Dennis! ¡Vamos!
Hola, Patricia. I am literally flashed! I can’t figure out if you’re a native English speaker or Spanish although your last name is Spanish. Felicidades! Continúa así. Es un verdadero placer escucharte. 😊
Your accent is excellent. You literally sound English. South England to be precise
Really great video! Just subscribed. How would you order something like churros with hot chocolate? Also do you have any tips for ordering food for vegans?
Thanks for subscribing! Glad you’re enjoying the content! Churros con chocolate 😅👍🏻 Spain is not a particularly vegan friendly country, byt I can do a video with some options 😃
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think a "double" is half a pint and a pint is "una pinta" , una caña is rarely what it used to be, which is a small little glass of 250 ml. You're welcome! 😂 and please tip your waiters! 😅
Hello Patri, you are the best. I love watching your videos.
May I ask you how do I order in restaurants or bars not chilled water, but water at room temperature.
Thank you in advance 😊
Awww tysm! You need to say “agua del tiempo” 👍🏻😅
@@patryruiz. Thank you soooo much Patri 💕
your reply was so quick.
I'm travelling to Sevilla in a few days and want to absorb as much as I can from what the city has to offer. It will be my first time there.
Your dedicated fan 😍
And don't forget to tip your waiters, especially if they have made an effort to learn English or French or ... Gracias!
❤
How do you say “ that’s all for now” when asked “algo más?” ?
uno jarra is used here in Tenerife not doble
Good point! Yes, there are some regional varieties depending on the area and in the Canaries the vocabulary and pronunciation are quite different 😅👍🏻
Shouldn't it be UNA Jarra, though?
Me alegro! 😅
@@patryruiz. Vale, me lo apunto, muchas gracias!😄
Ive lived in spain for years.
The different beers: caña, tubo, copa, cañon, jarra often refer to standard sizes, but often don't.
Caña could be 22cl or 33cl
Copa is usually 33cl
Tubo: a long thin glass, usually 33cl.
Jarra: usually a little less than a pint, but sometimes a glass with a handle which is consderably smaller. Does anyone really know what these things mean?
How does it look if i order using local vocabulary but with a heavy foreign accent?
Maybe funny but valuable. People will like it.
Si pedimos birras en vasos grandes
Pinta
Jarra
Cañon
Katxi o Mini
El menu del dia seria "Set lunch"
If you book a table for a party at a restaurant in Spain somebody is going to turn up two hours late - what are you going to do??
Wow your beautiful
Why quería and not querría
Isn't it tengo una reserva?
Yes, both are absolutely correct 👍🏻😅
@@patryruiz. thanks patry!
I’m not sure if I should be complimenting you on your English accent or your Spanish accent. 🤔
It never occurred to me that there would be any British people who would be interested in learning Spanish. Just like Americans (whites) have no interest in knowing any other language except "Merican". You speak English with a British accent, but your Spain Spanish is perfect. Your appearance tells me that you have more Spanish roots than British. I wasn't going to watch you until I heard your Spanish and now I am intrigued. Let me know if I got any of that right.
At 10:43
--> IN his/her head
--> pick someone's brain
Di esto:
1.
Póngame una paella con muchísimo chorizo. *No* es paella sin chorizo.
2. Una hamburguesa de polla, por favor.
