@@spanishafterhours you're welcome. the channel is what exactly I am looking for. also, maybe I need more confidence when speaking Spanish in real life conversations. I used to teach myself Spanish with some apps but they are not really that great. they are useful though but personally, not really that much progress. never heard of comprehensible input before but I heard of it in this channel (btw. also improved with comprehensible input in other languages that I learn. specially Greek where it has some really complex grammar that made me cry).
The teaching method is excellent. It's what I am looking for a language teacher-where you make things fun and simple. I have no teachers that teach Spanish in my area (and hoping that they will bring back Spanish as a subject in schools here) but hey, I already got one in this channel. maybe I got too lengthy, lol but thank you for everything and have a great day!

I find it funny how Nevera means fridge in Spanish but is also name of Rimac Nevera car which is named after Croatian dialect word for storm which is Nevera, so now how of the Spanish speaking world when they see Rimac Nevera car thinks about how the car is named "Fridge" 😅
On the other hand Terraza or Terasa or Taraca is same thing

Laura, how similar is Spanish to Portuguese? I’m skeptical which one to proceed with first as I want to learn both.
Obviously they are not identical, but I would say that they are similar enough to not worry too much about which one you should learn first. They are quite similar grammatically and have a good base of vocabulary that is written and sounds similar in both languages.
Clearly there are noticeable differences, but unless you have some external reason that makes learning one more of a priority over the other, pick the one that you enjoy the most or go for the one that you can find better/more engaging learning material to learn from. Once you become fluent in one of them, learning the other should take you only about half of the time, or less of what it took you to learn the first one since you will already be familiar with similar grammar concepts and a vocubulary that will help you learn the new language much more easily.

Both languages are of Romance origins and share lexical similarities. some words in Spanish mean differently in Portuguese vis-a-vis, and differs also in terms of Phonology (i.e how it sounds) and Synthax (i.e sentence structure). on what to learn first, what do you prefer? goodluck!
Spanish is much more useful since it's spoken by more than half a billion people worldwide.
btw in learning a language, you should get more proper sleep.

yes your brain will associate the sound with what you read, additional you could use "language reactor" which will show both subtitles and make the spanish words hoverable
This is not about the video but I am trying to understand Castellano rather than Mexican Spanish I have a dictionary that I think is more Mexican Spanish. How do you say television and student in Spain, in Castellano? Television or television? Estudiante or alumno?
