I got my dragon a little over a week ago and have been struggling with temps. I realized my wattage was too low. Had that problem with my ball python too. Going to pick up a better bulb today. Your videos have been helpful when I was doing research.
Buying my first bearded dragon... I own pythons a fire skink, pacman frogs and a leopard gecko... But a bearded dragon makes me nervous.. Lol.... This video was helpful appreciate it brother
Can you make a video on poop and how to clean out the tank with that substrate? Also how to store the food for the bearded dragon ( vegetables and insects). How much to buy and how long they last. Hardly any videos on that.
I'm getting my first beardie soon... I've ordered a 4' x 2' x 2' viperia black pvc tank with a mesh lid, the shop I'm getting the beardie from said they don't recommend pvc and they said I should have gotten wood but ive already bought it due to it being highly recommended. They'll still allow me to get the beardie but I have to sign a form which is slightly worrying, just searching for advice as you seem to be the best person to ask!
Hiya, i'm not an expert or anything, but if u can keep it the right temperature, i think it should be fine. a glass with mesh tank, like in the video, wouldnt work for me since my country and house are so cold :)
Love your videos!! Just purchased some cork bark ( shaped like two tiles) for the background of our 40 gallon . how exactly did u install yours? I seen a bunch of videos showing to use silicone. Is that what u did ?
Happy to help so they are just foam backgrounds painted and sealed with drylock. They do sell them at petsmart I also have. A video on me making homemade ones in my diy 120 gallon build
Hey another great video , I have a question though, I had bought the zoo med dual deep dome light and I was wondering instead of returning it because of the low uvb , can I just take off the uvb bulb it came with and add another heatlamp so it can be just a basking light ? Or do you think it will be too much heat for my beardie ? The basking bulb it came with is 100 w and the other one I want to add is 125 w heating bulb
Oh yeah that dual basking dome is a great lamp just the uvb that’s bad if you use two bulbs you may actually have to drop wattages if it gets hot but it works
I am having problems either with my temps or a sick juvenile dragon. He eats and poops great but is sleeping a lot and not basking much. I’m not sure if it’s too cold. What should I aim for on the basking surface and ambient temps? My probe is hanging down about 2” above the slate. Should I move it? He lays all over the slate is why I have it hanging. I’m using a Dubia 120 gal enclosure, reptisun uvb and 100W basking bulb.
Hi! I’ve been planning/preparing on getting a bearded dragon and your videos helped me a lot! I just have a question, I am from the Philippines and it is very hot here even in cold seasons. How long do you think i should keep the heat lamp and UVB lamp running if i am not basking the beardie under the sun everyday and should i keep my LED light on for 12 hours? Thank youuu
You'll want the heat and uvb available for 12 hours a day, and a cool side without uv for the dragon to hide in when they've had enough of the hot side. You may need a weaker basking light because your ambient temps will be higher, but you'll still need uv based on distance from the lamp to the dragons back. I live in Florida so it's quite warm most of the year, but we keep the ac running so the house stays cool and I use a 150w basking lamp all day.
If he is not getting direct sun exposure you will have to have uvb on most of the day. Now heat lamps were really intended to get them to proper temps so if you have a heat lamp on with the thermostat set to 110f then the heat lamp will only turn on to get the basking spot to sufficient temps. That way you don’t have to worry about it so much
It depends on what room temp is my house is pretty cold where I keep my dragons so two 100 watt basking bulbs but in my reptile room I would do two 50 watt bulbs because the air temp is so much hotter I could achieve 110f just with two 50 watt bulbs in a 4x2x2
I adopted a beardie and set everything up, the basking bulb will NOT go over 83 degrees Fahrenheit no matter what I do. What is happening? I’ve been through 3 bulbs now trying to remedy this 🥺
is peet moss no longer okay to use? i refrenced one of ur substrate videos for my bds substrate and u had said peet moss soil and sand but in this video no peet moss? jw!
@@Nova700et2 Definity clean waste when you see it but even without the cleanup crew I have one tank I have not replaced in a year I just add more soil in because when I grab the waste I grab all the substrate around it to and throw it away!
Best thing about this video is the thermostat tips. Very little people cover positioning and dialing in the temps. Great video.
Appreciate that 😁
Yes, your videos help me a lot! Don't have a dragon yet because I'm trying to learn everything I can before I get one. Peace!
Happy to help! That’s the way to do it!

When you add this kind of substrate, how do you clean it? Seems like it would be hard to even find poop.

Got a 4 months old bearded dragon. Thanks for sharing. Planning to do similar when it got bigger. May I know how you clean the poop?
I just grab the poop with a doggy bag and all the dirt that is touching the poop as well throw it away.

With the 4x2x2s I have to use two 100 watt heat bulbs for screen top enclosures. It’s harder to hit the right basking temps. 103-110f

Can I use loose substrate on a baby bearded dragon about 3 months old or wait till 1 year old
Yes I put mine on loose substrate at 1 month old
Can you use the dirt for a small bearded dragon,
Yes
is it okay if i dont use stone desert, so like only topsoil and sand?
100% that’s totally fine
Hi! Quick question, does the top soil need to be " cooked" to sterilize it, or can it be used straight from the bag ( when mixing it with sand)?
You can use it straight from the bag!
@ChiefSweetsUniverse Thanks Chief!!👍
What is the gal? Also what is the best size tank?
The gal is a het trans. Best size enclosure is a 4x2x2
thank you so much!

I use govee digital thermometer hydrometers
