I understand this video was kind of sponsored by Exo-Terra and the main thing was to show off their product but I lately build few of those just 36x18 and cant imagine using that clay, at least not on its own like you did. I cant even imagine how heavy that tank must be, what I do is I simply buy big thick sheet of polyester, shape it and cover it with thin layer of clay. That also allows you to cut out some pieces that can be put in and out so you have better access to hides etc. My main concern would be the hide she went into first, if she wont feel like coming out or make toilet out of it then it will be a nightmare to get her out or to clean in there.
Thankfully she doesn't make a toilet out of it. And ya it's quite heavy but your way would also work, we kind of did that with the broken foam background as space occupiers.

She has 3 very concealed hides to cover away under. She is not a shy leo and never has been and enjoys climbing the enclosure all night long, once the jade grows in she will have more foliage cover. I would have preferred a larger tank but she stresses in anything larger then this size (I had her in a 36x18x18 and a 24x18x18) so unfortunately this is the size she has to go in to feel comfortable and continue to eat. I do understand your concern but shes in what's best for her which is at least the minimum for Leo's with as much usable space as I can offer her.
BreezExotics i understand. You know your animal and you know whats best for her. I just thought that with more hides she would feel more confortable in a larger enclousere but just guessing
@@GuilhermeOliveira-vs7uh ya I see where you're coming from! I tried similar things with larger enclosures with tons of hides and cover but she stopped eating and lost weight. Shes healthy and happy right now, I may try again to upgrade her in the future as I'd also prefer a larger enclosure

Heat mats are not a good heat source. A halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer/dimming thermostat is the most natural and beneficial option. They produce infrared A and B like the sun, heat that penetrates deep into the skin tissue and heats them far more effectively than heat mats. Whereas heat mats only produce IRC, which only heats the surface of their skin.
Tank looks awesome! I am going to build 4 stackable gecko terrariums this summer and I am planning to do a similar design for my leopard gecko. She loves to climb! The ballons are a really good idea. It might work with fat tail! I mean if you completely hose down the tank regularly, then maybe not but depending on your misting schedule it might still be worth a shot! I will certainly check out your insta!
Bio activity. The tank has a clean up crew made of isopods springtails and potentially other species of small invertebrates That break down the animals waste.

I am not canadian unfortunately but my one eye kitten (profile image) is my rescue adopted from Montreal Quebec Canada named Monty-Que. 😉 @key2remember
Aww he's so cute! it hardened and I just add some warm water and it's good as new!
may I ask why you guys didn't make it bioactive?
She did after the video!
Is there any concern about the open cell Styrofoam releasing any chemicals when heated up by the mat? Or is it a non concern at those temperatures?
I am not concerned as the temps don’t reach all that high!
Where did you order your Arcadia Arid substrate? I am in Hinton Alberta.
ReptilesRuS
How do you get those like rocks for back round
Those are Universal Rock Background
I use clay mixed with leaves soil and sand for my leopard geckos enclouseres. Would i be able to replace tha clay in the mix for that product?
Btw the set up is awsome but too small and too few cover for the lizard
Yes the exo terra stone desert will work great!
HI, thank you for doing these wonderful videos. i have watched more of them, then todays subscribe i clicked. i just don't pay attention if i clicked. I was noticing how wonderful this new product is, compared to using grout on foam.. So glad they designed it. what i did not get to see though, is with your balloons there, you have it so you can see her in the cave now? from outside her enclosure? i used the spray foam for that effect on a spider enclosure i made for my son.. so I was curious if you's did this too.. thanks again for make how to videos i am bonniebarink on IG
The whole point of the hide in the back is so she can get away from eyesight, so no you can't see her while she's back there.
what happens if you need to replace the heat mat?
It’s on the bottom... so you just peel it off and stick another one there
😃 yes
double yes
I do indeed enjoy this
Glad you enjoyed!
Would this work for a Fat tailed gecko?
It should but you would just need to keep the tank a little more humid
One ( please getting ❤️) please please please ı love you
Glad you enjoy the content
How can you clean the hides
The substrate is loose inside so we can't scrub them down but we can clean the substrate inside each hide.
Can you put links to all the products?
What were you looking for?
What type of plants are those
Various different succulents
what's the lamp you use for the terrarium ?
For just light you mean?
@@MikeTytula yes
Jungle dawn LED bar
Can you use this as dry substrate
I dont recommend it
Do heating pads work through the substrate
Yes they do!
@@nightinggale6470 While this is true, in some cases it's extremely difficult to rig up a halogen bulb, especially in many leopard gecko setups.
@@MikeTytula in most cases it’s not that difficult, at least from what I know.
Thanks for sharing. God bless and stay safe.
Thanks Michele! You as well
But where do I get earthmix arid in the US? It's impossible to find
I don’t think it’s available in the US
@@MikeTytula darn! Thanks for getting back to me though
Ya sorry about that!
Yo what are the dimensions of the terrarium?
Strikers is 26x20x20
Tank looks awesome! I am going to build 4 stackable gecko terrariums this summer and I am planning to do a similar design for my leopard gecko. She loves to climb! The ballons are a really good idea. Probably won't work for my aft though because of the humidity and he's a big chicken. You can check out my gecks (frogs, fish, and bird) @peach_the_dove on ig. Happy there is a give away I can actually participate in for once lol
It might work with fat tail! I mean if you completely hose down the tank regularly, then maybe not but depending on your misting schedule it might still be worth a shot! I will certainly check out your insta!
What morph of gecko is he?
Honestly I think he was hypo eclipse tangerine?
The other product is excavator clay
I know lol
my question is how do you clean this tank. I feel like it would be so hard lmao.
Bio activity. The tank has a clean up crew made of isopods springtails and potentially other species of small invertebrates That break down the animals waste.
We just manually remove the waste and it remains fairly clean
