Dirty Loops is the perfect marriage of accessible, sugary pop hooks and sophisticated musical underpinnings. The focus on the saxophonist's face during the bass solo is too perfect. Brilliant, as always.
The answer is capitalism, plain and simple. The wealthy-elites in the record industry only allow the most profitable music to play on the radio, so we never get to hear anything but the simplest, most unsophisticated material. Record companies and radio stations work together to sell what's ADDICTIVE, not what's thought-provoking, unique, sophisticated or -- God forbid -- what uses real, live instruments.

There aren’t sufficient words to describe this level of chemistry and talent. Always amazing guys!
I've listened to this song dozens of times and just recognized that Cory is laying down beautiful distorted natural harmonics during the chorus. Makes it sound so full!!
These guys are aliens
Henrik is one of my top bass inspirations right now. He continues to strengthen that position with yet another perfect bass performance in this song.
For me, this song is perfection. Not sure I’ve ever really felt that about a song before. Every human that has contributed to this video hopefully feels that. Every piece of the puzzle is placed so well, all the dials turned just enough. the passion, patience and restraint in the playing and production just NAILS this amazing track!
❤
You understand the power of music when everyone smile to each other and have fun playing together.
Jonah's voice is INSANE!
The more I listen to this, the better it gets! Never thought fusion and Cory could work so well together!
The sound production on this is absolutely mental, one of the best produced songs I’ve heard
get a physical copy of this album and play it on a good setup. its mindblowing.
@@Biblionaut me brothers got Krk rp8 studio monitors which used to be mine, might need to borrow them haha
They have, had Q to work with.
In case you don't know who "Q" is, Q is Quincy Jones.
@@zukistone1528 course in know Quincy Jones, probably the greatest producer of all time, even MJs shit songs sound unreal because of him
It's been around 15 years of me learning about Hi-Fi and Loudness War and even after all this time I still can't wrap my head around shitty productions. Who fucking decided that we only need like 3dB of dynamic range in modern (pop) music? I'm getting mad everytime I hear a song I like and then start to wonder how great it would be if someone who actually cared about dynamic would have produced the song.
The second you hear a quality recording on a system with good impulse response (meaning loudspeakers with a high sensitivity and a well designed amplifier with lots and lots of power/headroom), you sit on your couch smiling from one ear to the other and start to wonder why we can't have nice things...
Dirty loops/Cory wong collab is like a dream come true!!
Just can’t stop listening to this. CANT STOP!!! The vibe, the bass, the vocals, the whole thing from start to finish is just immaculate ✨
This may just be one of the best songs I’ve heard till date
As a musician, when you listen to these guys play …there are only 2 possible things that cross your mind….you either get motivated to get better or you just quit once and for all !! 😂 Mad Respect ✊🏻 for these (all) musicians ! David Foster you did it again !☝🏻💪🏻
Motivated to get better ✔
It's Quincy Jones....no longer under David Foster
Hahaha that is a good one sir...I am musicin myself and I get your point but we should all just appreciate everything in life and on another side, there is no point in comparing yourself to anyone...feel motivated or feel like giving up I mean if you are passionate about music or anything just stay focused and things will come your way...stay blessed my man 😊
@@dejazz75 i think it is someone mentored by him cuz he might be too old at this point to sit in front of comp and produce for hours and hours hahaha...man is god on earth like literally 😂
I officially quit drumming after watching this…. Haha jk jk. But seriously though… DANG!
The drummer killed it, the bassist killed it, the singer killed it...the jazz-pack crushed it and Cory Wong tickling those strings...I just can't get enough of this song! So good, guys!
Edit: I've watched this and listened to this 30 times and only JUST saw the girls face in the corner during the bass solo. 😂 Love it.
That's Grace Kelly, she is an awesome musician too, look up the duo "2saxy" where she plays with Leo P. They are crazy haha.
So much talent in this 5 minute video!
@@bigbronx Awesome! Thank you, my friend. I appreciate the info! I always love coming across new talent to my ears.
Wooohoo !!! Dirty Loops did it again !!!
Blues,- Jazz-, Soul-, Rock- on !!!
These guys are making the best pop music these days
Why is nobody talking about Henrik's absolutely insane solo?! That sound! That melody!
"Bass god"
Most cogent use of a Whammy Pedal I've heard yet.
The stank face of Grace Kelly must represent what everyone of us felt while listening/watching that solo
cz we all already know that he is supperb, nothing more to talk about.....lol
Read many of the older comments dated when this first came out. Are you kidding? :)
They smile at each other just because all of them feel each other during the performance, almost the same school, education level. Bravo!
In essence, music is the art of painting time, and this is a masterpiece! There’s so many nuggets of gold in this piece that I keep returning to it over and over, every time finding more details to the amazing whole.
Bringing Cory along is a fantastic move!!
Somewhere down the line I hope we get to see Dirty Loops and Vulfpeck share the stage at the same time. And please a Tour in Europe as well! Lots of love!
Dirty Loops are the one reason I haven’t sold my Korg Triton. That signature EP sound is pure gold. And of course, everything else is killing.
I'm just dying. I have had this on repeat for the last 16 hours and I still cannot comprehend how they sound so good.
The mixing is insane
Sim1 Petren.
rehearsal and talent = this
These guys are insanely good

The levels of SHAMONE in this song are unbelievable.
Another banger from DL! The vocals felt a lot softer this time which is refreshing and really nice on the ear. The bass solo was next level as per. So much MJ flavour throughout!
Yes, very MJ... the bridge just before Linden's solo sonds like Thriller just before Price's (I would say "priceless") voice...
Now imagine Vulfpeck and Dirty Loops collaborating...definitely wouldn't be low volume funk anymore! Wow! Whoever made this collab happen deserves a raise.
Just imagining the bass solo between Henrik and Joe Dart makes me go beyond the stratosphere 🚀👌
I don’t know if I could cope!! The most amount of talent on a stage ever! Now imagine Vulpeck, Dirty Loops & Cory Henry!!!! 🙈🙈🙈🙈
Musically, this song is on of the very best. Technically, the musicianship from the groove section all the way to the horns, this song is not only entertaining, but it also is a lesson on how astute you need to be to perform at this high level. Love it!!
This made me cry. Just so you know. Thanks for your music.
It's been said before, but I'll say it again: when you put on the radio, THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD HEAR.
i hear the band in 2018 and my brain explotedddd.... i did not get why loopified was the best pop record of the year... is insane. they are on the top 5 bands and musicians. (outside clasicall music)
It was, but in Japan.
I guess language is a reverse-barrier? The more audience can understand the lyrics, the less they pay attention to the music, except for trained musicians.
God, that was so tight! And having Cory Wong with that killer horn section just sent it. Freaking awesome!
how is it possible to feel nostalgia for a song that you just started listening to for the first time? i wish current music were more like this
I love that their tracks are 4mins long...perfect to give a glimpse of their astounding chops without being self-indulgent!
You guys hit the part of my tastes that desires catchy, AND the part of my tastes that desires fusion shred chops. Please never ever quit Dirty Loops. You ROCK!!!!
I legitimately can't stop listening to this and I don't even have words to describe just how magnificent this is!
Their talent is giving me a Queen vibe. Idk why. They're not doing the same music at all, but it feels like this band's gonna be legendary someday.
I just can’t stop smiling watching this … it’s pure gold
You guys cannot possibly understand how much joy just discovering your music has brought me!
Just heard about the band on the radio while driving from work. I must say. Superb. Fresh. Musically astound. And this coming from a long time Sax player. +1 fan. Cheers from Croatia and keep up with giving food to my ears.
I cannot describe with words the emotion that I felt hearing this tune... Thank you guys!
Awesome guys!
Thanks Quincy, thanks Jonah, thanks everyone, you're all phenomenal musicians!
3:12 this is exactly my reaction when Henrik drop this bass machine gun line 😁 ! Ah so good, thanks for another excellent music Dirty Loops and Cory Wong ! Can't wait for the whole album
Henrik is out of this world ! That bass is crazy 👍🏻
I heard this at a sound check and had to ask the front of the house engineer who this was....I'm blown away at this ....Wow everyone is on point....AWESOME...the groove is pocket and strong.
Thank you fellas.
This is what pop should be - a tasteful mix of pleasing tension release combined with masterful reharmonisation. These musicians are master craftsmen.
