Wow!!! Love it, Back in 87 I help a buddy of mine that I was stationed with at Camp Pendleton. He had an 260 Z and we put a Chevy V8 and TH350 in it, we ran twin electric fans to keep it cool. That is the only car that scared me, we took it out on I 5 and passed everything on the Highway. I look back on that and think how stupid it was, as a Marine taking chances was my job, I knew better but when your young you let the excitment get to you. Love what you do, wish I was there to give you a hand. SEMPER FI to you and the family. God bless
ProTip: Always use fender covers when doing this kind of work. No need scratching up a good paint job if you don't have to. Also avoid metal to paint contact. Brad may have the cash to pay for paint and body work after all of this, but cover all of your engine or body lift chains with cloth to protect your appearance in the first place.
John Lee my best friend had one (68 MKII), and 3 of his cousins also hag Tigers. One had a Boss 302 (minus the Boss heads) with the shaker air cleaner crammed into it. That was a fun car to have a ride in. He won many Shelby American trophies, including life time achievement from Mr. Shelby himself.
The guy that used to own "Boss 302 Enterprises" in our hometown in the 80's (and who maintained my 70' Boss back then) had in addition to his 3 Boss Mustangs, a Pantera and 2 Tigers. He always called his 289 Tiger "a poor man's Cobra". Been wanting one ever since! Trivia: the outrageously funny 60's show "Get Smart", he drives up in the shows opening in a Sunbeam Tiger!
When you say that the Air Gap intake manifold is bigger, that means "deep breathing" at higher rpms. The roller rocker arms and screw in studs are matched with bigger valves/cam. The small block Ford engine wakes up, making serious power and it screams like the show "Ford vs. Ferrari".
Biggest hurdle is over, now comes the fun stuff!...I think Oliver probably 'willed' it in, so as not to hear dad's cussing, witness the throwing of tools, and general mayhem that us adults, as grown men, tend to cause when things don't go right ! 😂
Nice job. Are those cast exhaust manifolds the factory ones? I put headers on mine, and there's no way it will go in with the headers on! I eded up suspending the engine in place, then attaching the headers, engine mounts, starter, etc all together. It took skin off all my knuckles....
I have a bit of a soft spot for Sunbeams. My dad "drove" a Rapier. By that, I mean he started off for work, then walked home and drove my mom's Rambler American when the Sunbeam inevitably died a couple blocks away if it was at all cold or damp.

I see those black marks on the fenders. Fender covers are always a must.
@@bmh67wa lots of grease from my hands on the fenders, for sure.
Thanking you for your service, US Army 1969.
My dad bought one new out of the showroom when i was a child. My younger brother has an Alpine now but not the same. Glad to see this progress

That is a big engine for such a small car, it looks like it will be a lot of fun to drive.
Nice 🙂 I have a Humber Hawk, related to Sunbeam. So I appreciated seeing this
My father, the late Richard R. Hovis, designed the Sunbeam Tiger...along with many accessories
I keep waiting for Davin to show up and finish the job for this guy - in one day. :-)
Ah, easy tiger, we can't all be Davin haha. Brad does the job well, and I like his approach and personality
@@chrismcgowan5180 He does fine. I'm just having a little fun.
@@moparedtn Nah I know, all In jest. But the serious point is that Davin needs more air time, you can't contain greatness, haha
@@chrismcgowan5180 IMO, Davin and Tom are why I subscribe to Hagerty's channel.
Of course, I've also been a customer for years, too...
Hahaha. Davin's not much quicker than Brad.
I wonder if old style Block Hugger headers might work .They would also give you some options on ways to run exhaust pipes
Super, good and interesting work!!!! Thanks for video
Bet this is a fun car!
Keep up the awesome work!
Get in there! Well done! I'm doin the same as in pulling an engine in 53 bel air yada yada. Want to see the drive of that sweet car. Daren

I recently acquired an Alpine without an engine. I have a 289 and a top loader speed
Incredible! Nice work.
At one time yes !

Should be a cool little car.
In your series of videos do you show how to convert the steering? I would like to see that if possible.
Might want to torque those motor mounts.
Wow!!!! Supper...
Ten pounds of s*** in a five pound bag! Well done!
And do you show how much of the firewall needs to be trimmed?
Good
🤩Wow🤩
i guess that other intake never showed up? that sucks. love this project though!
Guess what? It finally did. I may just have to pull this one, if I can get it off with the engine in the car...
It Shure be nice to get rid of that MUSIC and with something MUTCH softer 🐤🐤🔔

I still think he should have kept the carburetor. I'm really disappointed about the efi.
You remind me of Gene Wilder Lol, in a good way
