I remember this song when I was just little. Back then, nobody found a thing wrong with this song. It was played most everywhere. But, now we're in 2023, where EVERYTHING has to be politically correct! Now, one can't say, "Indian"! It's now, "First Nation"! Also, one should avoid using the word " scalped"! It's now regarded as "follicle removal coiffeur". And, as far as the song is concerned,- Incest was quite widespread in the USA, even in olden times! Even today!! The most notable family being The Whitakers, out of West Virginia. It was really quite a thing in Tennessee as well. Oh,- and, as far as that "scalping thing" goes, ( and I could be wrong here, I don't know...) but from what I can remember,- it would appear that it was the "white man" that started the scalping thing! Back then, they had a bounty on natives. You brought in a body, and you got paid. This was just too cumbersome, so they reduced it down to having to bring in just the scalp as proof of a kill. This offended the natives greatly, being as, some believed that the Creator brought the dead up to heaven, ( Happy Hunting Grounds) by grabbing their braids and pulling them up. No braids,= no heaven. Soon the natives began doing the same to "whitie", in retaliation. Heaven forbid, if you were a white woman....!!
I agree and it’s ALL from my generation of peoples and I HATE it it makes me ashamed with all this woke stuff and I’m Indian and o believe all this First Nation and politically correct stuff is bullshit
