- Due to the full, country-by-country split results not being released, I have shown the points/rankings in two blocks. In this video, you will see the combined points from the TELEVOTES.
A recreation of the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 voting using the new format introduced by SVT for the 2016 contest. With this format, two sets of points are given out; the jury and the televoting.

Maybe people didn’t vote for Spain because of the fact they were incredibly vocal that they didn’t want to win the contest. I remember it being one of the top news stories that she was told not to win because they couldn’t afford to host the show.
@@jeriswani6062 I am spanish and I don't think so, everybody in Spain was so hyped because we thought she could win, they even told her that if she wins it was gonna be in Seville in 2013 (cause Pastora is from Seville)
@@javimystery8256 well in the UK I remember the bbc news saying the prime minister of Spain told her not to win because they couldn’t afford it. I think he said this as a joke but of course the UK media took it seriously. I don’t know if other countries were told the same thing though.

@@Daniel-wc4pp Well,it's no secret that the jury voting is connected with politic...So many countries despise Russia, that's why Russia is always robbed by juries.
@@user-iu1qp5ij7g Not really, in 2012 Russia was one of the few instances where the televote completely overrides the jury. Even during the Russian National Final the jury was completely shocked when they won. The same thing happened in 2016 with Poland and in 2019 with Norway where Michal was placed 25th with the juries but 3rd in the televote. If it was under the 2013-2015 system, Poland would have placed 19th.
Very underrated in televoting is Spain,Iceland and Cyprus😢

Spain came 18th in the televote, but 5th in the jury vote. Italy came 17th in the televote but 4th in the jury vote. Thank God for the juries!! If any idiot says the juries need to be removed, show them this scoreboard.

Haz Hartridge Juries has to be removed. There are a lot of countries which are always underrated by the juries (Romania,Poland,Hungary...) and a lot of countries which are overrated (Sweden, Australia, Malta,Ukraine). Spain was underrated in televoting but the juries need to be removed.

ESC Catalin nope. As far as I can see, the juries have hardly any national bias, especially compared with the public's bloc voting. I don't know which entries you're referring to when you point out Romania, Poland, and Hungary. Hungary wouldn't have made the top 5 in 2014 without the juries. The juries are very good at preventing bad, gimmicky songs from being overrated, as they did with Poland 2014, an entry which barely qualifies as music, comparable to Portugal 2011 and Montenegro 2012, yet it came 5th in the televote. And with Sweden, Australia, Malta, and Ukraine I still don't see any jury bias. Maybe they overrate Sweden slightly, but not significantly. Entries from Australia, Malta, and Ukraine only received jury support because they deserved it. The juries aren't meant to agree with the televote all the time. If they did, then what's the point of having them?
I'm sorry but the juries are also capable of stupid decisions as well because they wanted Montenegro 2016 to qualify and that awful song is nothing but noise and creepy lyrics. Also, the juries stopped Finland 2017 from qualifying and that is outrageous because that was a quality performance with amazing vocals and staging that deserved jury support.

The thing is, some years say that we don't need a televote as it goes against most public opinion, and other years say the same about the juries. That's why we need both, they compliment each other nicely, as well as clashing horribly with each other at the same time.

I love how close Russia was to Sweden in televoting. Russia usually gets extremely robbed by the juries, especially if to compare it with the televoting scores
But this year Russia didn't deserve much from the jury. It's just a joke song. But I understand why it got so many votes. I wonder what would happen if a country did this kind of stuff again.

I wish Turkey would return because this new voting system makes it harder for a country to do badly with a low jury score.

Kevin Magnussen You may think me naive for saying this but I don't think politics affects scores that much. In 2016 Russia topped the televote and came 2nd in 2015 despite a lot of people not liking them. Also Israel does well despite the mixed feelings across Europe and the east.
Only Armenia and Azerbaijan clearly have their voting affected by politics because they almost always rank each other last.
messin1000 well Germany is almost every year since 2015 dead last and we all know its because of refugees however Russia has like 12-14 neighbours who I might sound naive but they are small a lot and they really cant go without Russia,but I really miss Turkey alongside Armenia and Albania favourite ESC country (from Cro :) )

So the results wouldn't change so much. Malta and France would change places, Greece and Ukraine (unfortunately) would be higher and Macedonia would be lower, unfortunately.

plays safe is a funny thing to say... its a national contest... the Winner is choosed by our liking... its our style of music... DR kan do anything they like but we would allways choose the likeable song to the masses.. allways been that way... nice decent popsongs is our thing... and we Are getting hammered for it every year..
besides... nobody likes Denmark anymore because of events of politics and war... its like a big Giant middle finger every year and now its more in the face because of the new system...

Rene Mortensen I think that Europe penalize Denmark for using Anja this year... it is weird that your usual voting partners (norway and iceland) did not give any televote points them this year and all of their televoting points (8 points) all came from australia...coincidence? Dont't think so.
