- A recreation of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 voting using the new format introduced by SVT for the 2016 contest. With this format, two sets of points are given out; the jury and the televoting.

New system is a great benefit for Malta and Poland, just because they always have huge difference between jury and televoting ranking.
Vlad D yeah, I noticed that too, esp for Malta as I watched the reverse video for 2016 with old voting system and Malta can 24th with the old voting system compared to 12th with the new.
@@galacticpotato1325 The old system seems robbed to me, like where is Malta's points from 2014?! They placed at 6th at Jury and 24th at the televote. Overally played 23th place. Not sus noooooooooo....

Happy the new system wasn't used because we (UK) would have finished 22nd rather than 17th despite being a favourite to win!

What jury scores did you use for Georgia? According to Wikipedia, Georgia's jury votes in the 2014 ESC Grand Final were declared invalid and only Georgia's televote ranks were used to derive Georgia's scoreboard points. The EBU didn't calculate a substitute jury result based on a selection of other countries' jury votes like the would have done in 2016 in the event of a country not being able to provide a valid jury vote.

The amount of damage Malta and Azerbaijan took from the old voting system and the fact that they would be much higher with this voting system...
some of the numbers are off....San Marino is listed as having 18 televote points and Azerbaijan 26 for example...

Azerbaijan didn't qualify in 2014, did it? OMG it was so long ago I'm confused.
The new voting system really makes a difference to us - Polish ESC fans, because we're always underrated by juries but often do well with the televote.
Lena Olichwer Azerbaijan did qualify. And it maybe makes the difference with people going "vote for Poland omg!!!" no matter if the song is good or shit. But not for people like me, who look at quality of songs, not what country are they from.

With this voting system: Portugal would've been in the final instead of San Marino (by just 1 point!). And probably Valentina Monetta would've represented San Marino in 2015 (four times in a row).

There isn't as much anticipation during the jury results since you know those results don't matter as much. Also, it'll be a good idea to bring a calculator, those last couple of public votes requires some math to understand who still has a chance.

Old system meant Malta was probably at the bottom of most televotes which means they didn't get squat. Same for Poland but with the juries (although not as extreme). At least now if you get first place from one of them you get the points and it's not all revolving around the position.
Let's say Poland gets 50k more votes than second place in the national televote of France for example. If the juries rank them last they're likely to get very few points or nothing at all. The new system just feels so much better.
I still can't believe how low was France that year...

You have a mistake! Spain in the televoting got 41 pts, not 47.
San marino got 34 points total... 18 from televote... 16 from jury...

Yes, but in 2014 Poland was 5th place and in 2016 Poland was 3rd place in televoting. Jury is horrible! #STOPJURY

Spain was very lucky this year, ended top 10 without being top 10 in juries or televote (and without traditional voters like France, Portugal or Italy). With the new system ended 5 positions lower
