The big brands have squeezed most people out with their pricing. Drivers and putters are utterly ridiculous prices especially. It was only a matter of time other brands would go after the golf ball market.
You are looking at this all wrong .
The retail prices are outrageous but who are they aiming for ?
They are aiming for guys with plenty of money who love buying new golf gear every year .
Second half market is absolutely outstanding these days .
You can get the baws out clubs from last year and the year before for a fifth of the price of the new gear .
A review of the Seed balls would be good!
Matt just watched your video on the open qualifying. I say well done for having the courage to have a go . If people are giving you negative feedback its because they have never been there don't let them in your head . Great channel i watch you all the time
Love the studio! So excited to see the most funnily poetic golf youtuber grow their channel! Keep up the great content!
Hi Matt, I’ve been playing with the TaylorMade TP5’s for a couple of years now as I find them to produce consistent distance and great scoring iron feel and workability. I’m a 50 year old hitting of 6 and previously only used the Pro VI’s. Just find the TP5’s suit my game as I just feel more confident with them.
Fully agree about the TP5. Especially with irons.
Andy Carter and Matt Fryer v. Rick Shiels and Peter Finch since Fryer and Carter whipped the other 2 at qualifying.
I’d suggest you try titleist trufeel balls. £22 a dozen and perform really well. Give them a try and see what you think
Bought these today at local decathlon to test them. First test was only putting, but I like the soft feeling. Will test them tomorrow for short game and more. Thank for your comparison vid!!!
They were 35 Euros in Germany, while decathlon sells ProV1 for 67 Euros. So Inesis Tour 900 is nearly only half the price
Best golf ball is the one that suits you. The one that gives you confidence. Over the years i've pretty much tried all the premium 'tour' balls, as well as the mid-range offerings. Never really got on with Pro V1's, and in the main played AD333's for years. Now switched to Q-Star, which i've found suit me better off the tee and give me more confidence from 100yds-in. Whether a ball is £15/dozen or £50/dozen, if its right for you're game its the right price.👍
A review of the Cavell golf balls would be great. Made in the UK. 3 and 4 piece ball available for £23.99 per dozen on Amazon. Cheers.
Very interesting. A few more questions I'd like answered before making the switch. Is it as durable as the ProV1? Does it only last 3/5ths as long as a ProV1? What about consistency in manufacturing.... are they all identical or is there an unacceptable amount of variance from ball to ball. There are many balls that can match a ProV1 for a few shots. Need to see what happens to the ball half-way through a round.
Good review Matt. I hadn't heard of Inesis prior to your video. I'll check them out the next time I need golf balls.
Can you review some mid range balls Matt?
I look forward to trying one when I find one at my golf club. It’ll make a nice change from always finding Srixon Distance balls!!
Would love to see something similar with the Vice balls.
Would love a review of the inesis v titleist v Callaway v Srixon from 150 yards in or something of that ilk. Including around the greens, bunkers, long putts etc to see if the good feel translates to them shots or if it feels too clicky/springy and so on.
I tried them a few weeks ago. My swing speed is a little bit on the lower side (90-95). I hit a soft ball 10 yards further but I was totally unsatisfied with the spin and control hitting into the green with a 6-P iron. I played VICE PRO SOFT and I was not 100% convinced. I tried the INESIS 900 TOUR and I was immediately pleasantly surprised. Feels softer than it’s probably is but the control and back spin around the green is fabulous. My ball was consistently a little short (until 1 foot) of my pitchmark (even with a 7 WOOD). I’m playing this ball this season and it doesn’t break the bank.
All well and good Matt, which ball will you actually play. Most amateurs swing below or just about 100 with driver, not enough to compress a ProV1. I use Callaway toursoft, age 67 still drive 245 carry, ProV1 isn’t as long. My fitting pro, couldn’t believe it when in the sim, he gave me a new ProV, i hit 10, then i produced the Callaway and out drove the ProV with every shot. He now recognises compression in a ball is important to consider when selecting your ball.
35 Euros here in France! Plus delivery!! And Decathlon is a french owned company.🤨Might as well go the extra and have the Titleist's.
There are decathlon in uk… But I guess you prefer them to be produced in China…And pay more
Pro v1s are 65eur in france.
@@Jean-c7p What the hell are you talking about?
Please could you look at the feel around the greens, chipping and putting review would make it interesting as an overall alternative
I would like to see the inesis round the greens and durability test
Titleist will never be beat on sales as they include the refurbished/reissued/second hand balls in its sales numbers.
Good stuff! I wonder how well they would fare as far as dispersion, the PV1s almost always win the dispersion test in robot testing, like the ones done by MGS and Today's golfer.
Would love to see a review of the more budget friendly offerings from the big brands like the Supersofts, AD333s and Tour Soft/Speed etc. Probably worth comparing against the ProV1 as well. Someone else in the comments has mentioned the Seed balls as well, I'm intrigued by those too.
Would love to see a review of the titleist Trufeel vs pro v1 and Ines is tour balls
What are the Inesis like around the green and out of bunkers?
How about with short game shots? How does this Inesis perform against the ProV1?
Also would like to see the new Vice balls in a review
Loving the Yeti logo there Matt!!
How about a review of the AD333, please?
Decathlon are doing some great things in their golf section……. Beginner golfers can start with premium performance and feel on a starter budget. And why would you change lol👍😂
Big names in golf are really gonna struggle soon. And if Kirkland bring out a brushed satin version of their new irons I’m having them fitted….. 😘
Is the new chrome tour x really longer than the chrome soft x? That’s the comparison I want to see.
Sadly, Golf gear is not sold anymore on the Decathlon US site.
First time watching and although a good comparison strategy, surprised that you never gave detail on the condition of the balls after being hit a few times; this would have a major impact on the cost of ownership factor.
How does the durability shape up? All very well having a cheaper ball. But if they scuff up after a few holes then you're not really ahead,
great comparison but I would like to see the comparison around the greens CHEERS
Whats the difference with a 90 club mph speed? Do the distances narrow?
So Matt..did you play it in your Open qualifying?
Review of the new Snell lineup would be appreciated
Just watching it, kind of interesting. Thanks. Really is there that much difference between them? And that’s just based on your data, which by the way is amazing. You are a very skilled golfer. 280+ carry is no joke.
Been saying this for ages, the inesis ball has a superb feel off the clubface. It feels like you’ve struck it, it’s also good for the short game imo. Even their cheaper ball feels better than comparable priced balls
So what I took away from that was value for money the Kirkland is fantastic and Inesis is pretty good.
Not for sale in the USA it seems.
£30 the same as Wilson triad, a review between the 2 would be good
I need to know what ball is the easiest to find in the rough
I’ll let you know when I find one 😂
As a laugh, can you test the PGM balls from Temu?
What about durability? Pro v1 last a long time. If you don’t loose balls go with the prov1s. I’m not particularly long but almost always in play.
cavell golf balls amazon, 3 or 4 piece
Conclusion unless you are a golf pro or single digit handicapper, given the minimum difference, inesis is the ball
Driver Spin rate is negligible difference, how can you say that kirkland spin rate is too high!?
If I buy 5 dozen Vice Pro it’s cheaper and really good ball I find
I think I found my next ball.
Yes but are they as good as Penny Aces
Check out golf ball addicts opinion Kirkland/ pro v
I'll stick to the used market where I pay around 40p per ball 😅, not paying new prices for balls I'm going to lose 😂
Great video though
Tried them and they aren’t a patch on a prov1.
But your club head speed was fastest on the inesis. And slowest on the Kirkland. You should normalise for head speed
Inesis coming out with 1.47 smash factor and the Kirkland with 1.45. It's just a less efficient ball off the face. You can be kind and throw 2 yards to the Kirkland for the .8 missing club head speed, and it's still 5-6 yards shorter than the other balls.
Now the Kirkland is still the best ball for people who tend to lose a lot of balls, but still want good spin and feel around the greens.
At my level kirkland is rhe choice.
Screw the ball reviews, where's the hole in one !?!!!!!! 🤣
👀 keep your eyes peeled today on the main channel. We spoke about it on the podcast channel released today too The Matt fryer Golf Podcast on UA-cam
For the price, I'd go kirkland all day
Times are gone where 50 pound were 70$....
In my opinion. £30 is not really a budget ball.
What if he said budget performance ball? I get his point. Im not going to play a Real budget ball because of the performance. However, I'd like to pay less than Titleist money for a nearly similar ball.

🐰
I am not carrying my driver 280, is more like 240 with the kirklands, so i am a only losing about 6 yards if the math checks out, but I am getting almost 4 dozen balls for the price of a dozen ProVs, I feel ok about that.
Inesis balls are getting too expensive
Shock horror. People pay for a brand name :)
The average golfer will not notice the difference betwern any of these balls
You can play great golf without a 55 dollar a dozen balls
Once you can take the ego out, you can play other balls
Spoiler: Budget balls do not kill the pro v1
Legatos are better, prove me wrong.
Listen you cam review all the balls under the sun there is no way any ball will replace the prov1 and for £15 off a differnece its not worth comprising for 15 quid
Great idea, now go ahead shoot 120+ with your prov1s
😂😂😂 a guess your still being breast fed
Are you on tour
@edanzore no just not a miserable c u n t
If you're on a budget why you even be considering prov1? You can get 2022 tour B x for 29.99 this season, there's always a new deal out there on premium balls
