I repaired my wall mounted garden hose reel using a similar method. A replacement would have cost me £60.00 and I repaired it for £5.00. So although Gaus DIY demonstrated the method on a cheap step, the process is useful to remember for more expensive items. 👍

Plastic is mostly oil based, and breaks down into damagingly small particles when dumped. These particles are now getting into our water supply, etc and damaging our health, and that of animals, birds, etc. Repair and reuse is much better all round.

I bought some bags of paper clips large and small from the dollar store. I think a small paper clip is better suited for repairing cracks - more rigid. For other areas you can use a big paper clip and unfold it. Then shape it into any desired shape you want.
I would have placed the screen on the underside of the chair - it is less visible there.

Cost of super glue, soldering tool, sandpaper, etc. something to consider. If you're in a place or situation where you need to do extensive repair work to a $4 stool, you're also not likely to have on hand all these other things. (Unless you have a repair shop and that's your job or how you keep your community thriving when there are few resources. Still, interesting.

The powder doesnt look like baking soda. Looks and sounds (when scraped) like sugar. Weird.
Good to show for repairing other things. Not worth it for a dollar store plastic chair. Most people don't have all those things in their home.
In my area you can buy super glue at the dollar store. It comes in small tubes with liquid or gel. Now it also comes in tubes with a brush. Also available at the dollar store are lots of things out of plastic and metal that can be bought cheaply and used for plastic repairs.
If anyone tries this be sure to do the best you can to clean any and all grease like substances off of the repair area. You'll find it will adhere better and last longer on a clean semi rough surface. You can also look on the damaged item for the recycling code to get an idea of the type of plastic it is made of them find the similar material and weld it in place. The soda glue thing works but it isn't flexible . It tends to be quite brittle.
I'd rather buy a new one.😊

Not worth the bother. A new one saves time and money.

You're missing the point. The cheap chair is just an example, this technique can be used for all sorts of things that are difficult or expensive to replace.

En estos videos usan bicarbonato y pegamento epoxico tipo la gotita. la mezcla de estos dos componentes crea una material resistente que se puede lijar sin problema,ya que se solidifica en forma instantanea.

It is very easy. From inside fix a plastic slate frame from bangarwala. Another is buy a tray. Fix it on top. Another fix a plywood inside. Use pavda handle and fix 4 legs from the plywood. Top you can use just glue and a plastic mica sheet laminate

Hallo, ist eine interessante Möglichkeit. ABER: Einen solchen Aufwand an Zeit und auch Kosten rechnet sich für so einen alten Plastik-Hocker nicht.
Alleine die Kosten des Sekundenklebers übersteigt hier in Deutschland für einen solchen neuen Hocker um das Doppelte. Und das Backpulver kann man dann seiner richtigen Bestimmung zuführen.
