People think I’m crazy but I rinse off the top of my cans before opening them because when at the warehouse or store mice run on top of them. I also add a bay leaf and sugar to my sauce. Yours looks delicious. ❤
You’re right! All it took was for my Aunt to tell me years ago, how she’d actually seen a mouse scamper across a cans in a local grocery store! That was it! I wipe the tops of all my can goods off before taking a can opener to em!

I use vinegar water to clean the tops when I get ready to store, just a wipe for accumulated dust. 👩🦳

I thought that was taught to us by our parents? I have an ex that said I’m the first person he noticed that washed off the can opener after using it… 😑
I loved seeing Tim loving on Milo. It was so sweet the way Milo snuggled into his shoulder.
This Valerie also met her hubby in high school. We have been married 42 years and we are still gardening, cooking and working together. I enjoy your videos.

My husband and I are also high school sweethearts….dated 31/2 years and married 44 years, twin boys, another boy, and a girl, and 10 grandchildren later…..still sweethearts!

@@AtHomeWithWillowBerryI laughed so loud when he drove by that window. I wish mine was funny. He’s too serious. My sister in-law is an RN too so, my mil lives with them. She’s 90 last October. We call her Granma. 41 years with her. She’s definitely like a mom to me. She’s coming Monday to stay a few days. I’m just an old retired hairdresser but I feel comfortable when Marty is off and here with me.

Today I did 6 hours of freezer meal cooking. Trying to start using the harvest from the garden. I chuckled when I saw your little pot of spaghetti sauce, I did 12 pounds of sauce today with all the tomatoes coming out of the garden. Great minds think a like, I did stuffed shells as a freezer meal today. Happy Father’s Day Tim!

Wow Valerie, the sauce looks delicious, I can almost smell it! I have a family recipe that is our favorite pasta sauce and it has to cook all day too, it's our favorite ! Me and my hubby just celebrated our 53rd anniversary and I have to agree, I don't know where all the time went, but I wouldn't change a thing either! Love those beautiful flowers on your island! Valerie, put a wet rag under your cutting board. It will keep the cutting board from moving, the dry one still lets the board move. This should help

I have been helping my son remodel one of his bathrooms. It took us 6 days. We just finished it today. Monday I will start refinishing the kitchen cabinets while he is at work. I have to head back home Friday, so wish me luck on completing the job.

Valerie, have you ever tho't of placing rubber anti-fatigue mats in front of your sink, range, and stainless steel work table? I would think with as much as you're on your feet at those items, it would benefit your legs and feet tremendously. Anyway, just a tho't. I so enjoy your down to earth life style. And the fur babies...wonderful. Keep up the good work on the homestead. Prayers from central Wyoming.
Watching you while recovering from a concussion. Throw rugs and 76 year olds do not mix. I always get a smile watching Milo and the pups.
@bsteele1493 As a 4 time survivor of having my bell rung upstairs ..take care of you dont push or strain it will make recovery slower...i know its frustrating ,but listen to your doctor.. sending up prayers and positive affirmations you are back to tip top shape soon💝🙏💝🙏

Girl I knew when I saw you miter that sheet corner you had gone to nursing school. That’s one thing about the medical profession. You better know how to make a bed correctly. Man I love your bed spread or comforter which ever it is. My mouth watered watching you make the sauce. Beautiful little Willow. And Milo sure loves his dad. Looks like Max is gaining weight. I come from a military family.....that's one of the first things I learned.....was to make a bed properly. A quarter better bounce on it. 😅😅

I have spent the day looking after a 15month old and 3 year old great great nephew. We played in wading pool planting a raised they picked plants for and weeding. When they went home cooked dinner and laundry. They keep me active . This 76 year old body needs that😅

Tomorrow is Father's Day & I'm making stuffed shells, salad & bread! Just a coincidence but kind of funny. I don't make the shells often because they are a little time consuming & messy to make but they are so good. I use a small spoon to fill the shells. Hope Time gets spoiled on Father's Day!

I'll tell you what..our 25th wedding ann. Is June 17th, but we lived in sin for 7. It was my 3rd marrige.I am 15 yrs older ,he was 61 June 10th& I will be 76 July 19th.I hate being old,but I live each day as my last& enjoy life. I make stuffed shells like you do..lots of cheese. The only difference is I cook sauce with meat. My hubby is Italian.😊& when you said the house smells like an Italian restaurant I laughed,cuz he says to me it smells like Sunday at dads.😊Its expensive to make,I make a big pan& a smaller one( for neighbors( 94) yrs old. Got to have Garlic bread/ with cheese.😊❤👍

Well every time I watch I say I’m gonna make that dish I haven’t but I am😂 I’m not lazy but but my husband passed away in 2008 & he cooked for me after he retired after a heart attack. I so love to see you cook & when you have takeout dinner. Your husband is such a fun person on the videos tell him to keep up the smiles that make you smile. Happy Father's Day to Tim! I bet you were the best nurse! You're so kind and caring! I used to do ultrasound. It's too physical for me now after having back surgery. I sure do miss it. My husband and I met in 99 and married in 02. We have 2 teenage daughters. They eat us out of house and home too! 😂 Dinner looks amazing!

I wanted to tell you I have never had collard greens in my life but you always fix them so I decided I need to try them, I have always planted Swiss chard and spinach in my garden so I bought a can like you had, well I guess you need to be raised with them as a child because I thought they were bitter, but I tried them. 😊
They are definitely an acquired taste. I was 18 the first time I ever tried them. Now I love them. 🤗🌻🥬

Hi Valerie, I’m from Northern VA, Clifton area, and always wanted to get a small place in the mountains, permanently away from this area. My late husband of 36 yrs, passed February 2023, was not interested in moving to the mountains. And years of trying to convince him, well…..you get the picture. I'm also a retired Nurse of 45 full time years. I floated most of the Nursing Departments and was a Preceptor for most of the new Nurses coming on. I sure enjoyed my work.
